IOS4.1 is coming out next week.

Yes i'm watching live stream of this apple event, SJ have said 4.1 will be out next week.
and 4.2 in November, supposedly for ipad, iphone and itouch.

Note that Apple has not announced a release date for iOS 7 as of yet. It's speculated that they will announce a date at the press event on September 10, but it's not guaranteed, and certainly not guaranteed that the release itself will come next week. We'll have to wait and see.
As to iOS 7 on the iPhone 4 when the release does occur, read the footnotes on this web page:

  • I just bought an ipad, not even 30 days ago, now the new one is coming out next week. can I exchange?

Has anyone heard if verizon will be offering an exchange policy like they did for the iphone? I haven't even had my ipad 30 days and now the new one is coming out next week. Is verizon going to screw it's customers or allow you to exchange for the new one?

Verizon is not even giving the $100 credit that Apple is giving if you bought within 14 days.  I called and was told I had to pay a restocking fee of $70 plus a reactivation fee of $35 so I could exchange and get an Ipad 2 and pay $105 as basically a penalty instead fo getting a $100 credit.
So don't tell me Verizon is not screwing their Ipad customers who just bought an Ipad.

  • Is there really a Ipad 3 coming out next month?

I heard there is an Ipad3 set to come out the first of February. Is it true?

Sorry, but no one outside of Apple knows anything about future product releases, and Apple has not at this time announced any new models of iPad. Anything anyone here would post would be pure speculation which isn't allowed here (the Communities are for technical support on existing products). There are a number of rumor sites which you can read, but as to whether any rumors they report have any validity, your guess will be as good as ours.

  • PSE  12 - Release date next week or not?

Is PSE 12 coming out next week or not?  Corel have already released their Paintshop Pro and Ultimate X6 versions and they are 64 bit versions so it is time PSE 12 should also be 64 bit.

  • Are any iBooks Author books coming out?

We all hear about the seemingly difficult process of getting an iBooks Author book through Apple's gates. It would be nice to see what is emerging as finally published books. We've seen a few mentioned here but where are the new titles coming out this week? Are free books arriving faster than paid books? I've scanned the new releases listed in iTunes and the iBooks Store but see little that resembles an iBooks Author publication, certainly few showcasing screenshots and enhanced features.
I've been waiting for Maria Langer's new 'enhanced' book on iBooks Author but saw this disheartening paragraph on here blog:
April 7, 2012 Update: One of the two tickets on my book has disappeared, but the other remains. Despite several attempts to contact Apple, it’s still unclear whether they realize that I have resolved this ticket. I keep getting canned responses that do not indicate whether they are following up on my problem. It seems to me as if they’re just sending out a response without even looking up the situation. I’m frustrated beyond belief at this point and angry about potential lost sales. And there’s no one at Apple who I can contact to get a definitive answer. Clearly, the iBooks Author publishing experience is broken and Apple is uninterested in fixing it.
I'm hoping for some good news from this Forum.

Is it possible that there are a good many really crappy books being submitted via IBA and they are wading thru them?
It wouldn't surprise me at all to learn that a large proporption of books is of poor quality, with spelling, grammar, editing, typography, and layout problems. Having worked as both an editor and author on and off for many years, I know first-hand that, what some people consider quality writing in fact isn't…
A big danger with any publishing program or word processor is that, even though the program is capable of producing professional output, the professional output doesn't come from the tool, but the author. I still need to know about typography, about design (partially taken care of by IBA with its templates), about style and grammar, about presenting material with proper logical flow, etc…
Just because I have tool doesn't mean that I can produce publishable material. That's where the whole process is flawed, in my opinion. Publishers normally provide services to authors that ensure some level of quality, such as copy editing, proof reading, layout design, and so on. With the iBookstore process, none of these services are provided by Apple, who merely acts in a distributor role. Many authors are not capable of doing all the things that publishers traditionally do, so a big chunk of what makes a book a good book has gone missing. Traditional publishers actually do add value for their share of the revenue.

These "long" waits people are complaining of should be encouraging that you are submitting your books to an entity that is exercising quality control rather than just publishing them all, like a blog... I wonder what the rejection rate is for IBA? I can't imagine Apple would fill their bookstore with poorly edited books.
We can only speculate what the reasons for the long wait are. Could be under-resourcing by Apple, could be that they are swamped, could be a combination of both.
It is striking though that submissions to the Appstore seem to go through so much quicker even though, arguably, applications are harder to test than books. As other people here have reported, they get a book as an app improved within a week, whereas no such thing seems currently possible with an eBook. Either apps are not reviewed as thoroughly as books, or the app review process is much better resourced.

No way to know what the rejection rate is, unless Apple decide to publish that (which I doubt the will). Having a bookstore full of junk or poorly written material is certainly not in Apple's interest. On the other hand, neither is having an appstore full of buggy and poorly written applications.
I think an initial wait time of four weeks would be tolerable for new submissions, if only the process were streamlined more. For example, telling people that something is wrong with their book without providing the detail needed for them to fix the problem is truly useless: it wastes the author's time as much as Apple's. And, once minor fixes are made, having the book go back to the end of the queue is simply bad process.

  • Just bought my Imac a week ago and found out the 23" is coming next week?!

I was wondering what the return policy is as I would rather have the new 23" IMAC. If I would have known they had it coming out I would have just waited.
    Ideas? Suggestions?

    Hello,
Generally, you can return the Apple computers within 14-days of their original purchase date.
This applies only to machines that have not been customized / built-to-order. So, if you ordered the machine with more memory than it would normally come with, or you got the machine with 256 MB of video RAM, or you got it with a larger hard drive, or any other alteration to the standard configuration, then you are not able to return it for any reason (other than warranty repair).
Also, understand that there is a 10% re-stocking fee. And, you can only return it to your place of purchase. So, if you purchased it at Apple's online store, then you will need to ship it back (be sure to call first for a Return Authorization Number).
Also, understand that the 14-day return period began when you purchased the machine. Not when you received it. So, if you ordered it online or directly from Apple, then your 14-day trial period began as soon as you placed the order. So, shipping time is just lost time in the 14-day period.
As for the 23-inch machine, that is just a rumor at this point.
There is no evidence that a 23-inch machine is coming. But, the rumor sites are generally right about 75% of the time. But, they've been continually wrong now for more than a year on topics such as iPods, iPod phones, and even speculation about a palm-held / tablet computer.
So, generally, the rumor sites should be considered educated guesses. Not 100% reliable information.
That doesn't mean that a new 23-inch computer will not arrive. But, it also doesn't mean one will. All any of us can do is wait and see what Apple releases.
If you want to play the waiting game, then go ahead and return the computer you have, pay the re-stocking fee, and any shipping fees that apply, and then wait and see what happens.
You can be generally assured that at some near point in time, that Apple will be upgrading the iMac systems. But, what those specific changes will be is purely guesswork and educated guesses at this point.
    I hope this helps.

  • I want to upgrade my 2008 Mac pro to the latest one, will it meet the requirement for the future Software that's coming out for the next four years?

I want to upgrade my 2008 Mac pro to the latest one, will it meet the requirement for the future Software that's coming out for the next four years?.

I'd wait. What can't you do that you need? You mean you want to buy a new model, then why not wait for an actual new one, not the two year old 5,1, when you need to and have outgrown.
Yours will run Mountain Lion. yours is 4 yrs old and still supported and has life left.

  • I just purchased to send out a form next week. We would have been sending 4 times a year. Definitely will look at alternative right away. How do I get a refund?

Verizon is corrupt in what they tell you and what they honor. Their right hand does not know what their left hand is doing.
I am so angry at them for what they are NOT doing to solve problems we have had with billing since October. I have been putting horrible reviews on every site I can think of as well. This typically is not my approach but I have exhausted every avenue of reason with them up to this point. They are so big they don't care. Only thing though is I live in a small community that does pay attention to things others say and I am telling it like it is. Verizon customer service is a group of dishonest, incompetent people.

  • When's the next version coming out?

I know no one knows for sure but is a new version like 7.0.3 coming out anytime soon? 7.0.2 doesn't have very good support for Windows Vista. When I first open it the entire Window is black. Does anyone know if Apple plans to make an update to 7.0 or are they just working on 8.0?

The next update will likely be iTunes 8 for the iPhone which will presumably be in June. Maybe another update in Oct when they release iPod updates. I would not expect them to make Vista a big priority since it does not really come out until the end of Jan, and they are making so many other updates.

  • When is the next iphone coming out?

No. Nobody on here knows. And if you look to your right, you will see a "more like this" section, with a bunch of other people just like you asking the same question.

  • Does anyone know when the next generation of Minis are coming out?

I was just wondering if anyone knew when the next gen of mac minis would be coming out and when the current gen were released?

To answer your question there were two refreshes of the Mac mini in '09; the Early '09s came out in March and the Late '09s in October. The previous refresh was back in August of '07. The Late '09s doubled the RAM, increased the HDD size and have a faster CPU, all for the same price.
The Mac mini server was also introduced in October with 2 HDDs, no optical drive and Mac OS X Server as the OS.
There will probably not be another refresh anytime soon. Of course we also believed that last March!

  • Nokia Belle coming next week??

Finally, Nokia belle seems to start roll out from next week according to nokia's twitter....
    Attachments:
    nokia.jpg ‏19 KB

Unfortunately, it appears that somebody jumped the gun a little. We have checked with the software update team responsibile for preparing the roll-out of Belle to existing Symbian^3 devices and there has not been any plan to begin during next week. Current information is still, as has been previously stated, that the roll-out of Belle will begin during February.
The official word from Nokia is:
We have already shipped Nokia 603, 700 and 701 with Nokia Belle earlier this year, and have received great feedback on the new user experience. We have also started shipping new versions of Nokia N8, Nokia C7 and Nokia C6-01 with Nokia Belle preinstalled. To make Nokia Belle available to consumers globally, we will start rolling out Nokia Belle for the already existing Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, Nokia Oro, Nokia E6, and Nokia 500 smartphones in February 2012.
And it is not true that the software is released in alpha-numerical order by model name. Software updates depend the phone product code, meaning that some regional, country and network variants may be released sooner or later than others - so don't worry, Stanely08, if you have an N8 or an X7 you are not at the back of the queue on the basis of your device model.

  • When's the next update coming out?

When's the next update for the iPhone 4S coming out?

Apple has made no announcement about any upcoming updates. Generally, they only announce major updates (e.g. iOS 8) in advance. You'll get a notification on your phone when it's available.

Anybody exoperienced this? Any workarounds/patches for our version of BO XI..?
    thanks for loooking..

I've being working wit Windows 7/BOXI3 since October and haven't had any major issues - Excel files received from publications have been the biggest problem with moving to Office 2010 at the same time.
