IOS4.3.1 kill my iPad WIFI connection

That's some complains about this issue from other users already, but seem no solutions yet.
Here is my scenario:
I updated my iPad 3G+WIFI 32GB to iOS4.3.1, and iPad unable to find my WIFI hotspot since that, (not even my neighbourhood's hotspot), in the same time, my iPhone 4 with iOS4.3.1 work perfectly fine with the same router. iPad used to work fine with the same router same setting in iOS3.2.1.
I tried reset, both iPad and my router, I also tried to manual add the hotspot by select "Others", I even tried to change the WIFI setting from any combination of following: WPA, WPA2, No password, boardcast SSID, no boardcast SSID, channel etc etc. iPhone 4 work fine with all settings, but not my iPad. sigh.
I'm in Singapore, using SingTel boardband, 2WIRE 2701HGV-E (and 2700HGV) wireless router.
Anybody have the same issue? or better, have a solutions???
Thank you so much!

Sorry this is not an answer, but i think is of note, as since i updated from 3 i have had constant wifi and 3g connection issues, despite using airport extreme as the router. This remained through 4.3.1' but having updated to 4.3.2 it appears to have finally fixed the issue.
However i am aware that many others have had no problems with connections with 4, to the point of condescension to those that have had. Therefore I wonder if 4.3.2 has fixed those Issues for some (including myself) but created connection problems for those who had previously been ok. Personally Ill be loath to update 4.* again now i have finally got a working ipad in case it reverts again.
So possibly a downgrade to a previous update may work for those just experiencing problems?

  • IPad WiFi Connection Problems - WiFi Symbol Appears With Full Bars but I Don't Get A Checkmark?

I was using the iPad one day and then all of a sudden it stopped connecting to the internet. The network at this hotel is very good and I've asked them about their router so it is not the router's problem.
I go to the Settings and tap on Wi-Fi then I tap on the hotel network. After a few seconds, it says the network name beside the Wi-Fi tab and it gives me the WiFi symbol showing 3 bars. But then I never get the checkmark or tick saying everything is connected. I try going online and it says the iPad is not connected to the internet. I've tried an iPhone and it connected and got a checkmark in a few seconds. I've talked to the front desk and he took out his phone and showed me that he could connect, he even opened a page without any problems at all.
I've been trying to find a solution for this for a long time. I've been searching Google over and over again. I turned Airplane Mode on for 1 minute, I've tried Resetting my Network settings, I've tried forgetting the network and reconnecting again, I've tried removing all restrictions from the iPad, I've rebooted the iPad A LOT, etc.
So this is my problem for people who don't want to read the whole message:
    1. I can't connect to the internet with the iPad
    2. It shows the WiFi symbol saying its connected but I never get the checkmark or tick.
    3. It's not the router problem.
    4. I've tried other networks and it doesn't work. It just keeps on showing that loading circle right beside the network name.
    5. Do any of you know what this problem is? Or do you have a solution?
Thank you for reading this and have a great day

  • Are there any known issues with iPad wifi connections to Comcast routers

I consistently get the "unable to join network " error when trying to connect to my Comcast all in one router.  My other laptops and smartphones connect without issue.  I'm using 32GB iPad2 with wi-fi + 3G.  Coincidentally I switched to comast at the same time I did the 5.1.1 update.  Prior to the switch i had a fios router and 5.0 OS version. I've tried resetting the network info on the iPad and I've reset the router as well.  I can see the network just cant connect to it.

So disappointed with IOS 6.  I'm having weak wifi connection since upgrading to it.  Can Apple do something about it? Can you at least reset it to IOS 5.1.1?

Sorry Jim for the wrong question because I'm getting frustated with my IPAD since I can't use it for surfing internet with a faster speed.  Ipad was very convenient to use until this IOS 6 upgrade.  Tried all the suggestions in the forums but still gets back to weak wifi connection.

  • IPad wifi connection help

I just spent 15 minutes holding and 20 or more minutes on the phone speaking to incompetent tech help people two days in a row. They asked the same questions and went through the same useless steps trying to get my iPad's wifi to work. Nothing worked and neither tech even remotely understood that it was a Verizon problem not an iPad problem (connected fine to 3 outside networks). Finally I just hung up and reset my router to factory specs. Miracle! that worked! Needless to say that I am totally underwhelmed by Verizon's tech help.

    MSM wrote:
Thanks for your input but WPA2 worked (barely) with my MB air, the connection was iffy. It did NOT however work with my iPad 2 and THREE Verizon techs could not fix it. So, until someone comes up with a solution for that I will stay with factory settings.
Maybe it would be worthwhile bringing your iPad to the genius bar to see if an Apple tech might have a clue what the problem is.
For whatever it is or isn't worth, I have an Actiontec Rev I router set to WPA2.  All our devices connect with no problem, including an iPad2, MacBook Pro with Mavericks, an iPhone 5 and a 5s and a couple of Windows 7 machines.  Frequent guests' devices also connect with no problem.

  • My apple new apple ipad wifi connectivity is poor

hi presently iam using latest ipad. i observed its wifi connectivity is poor. when try to connect ipad via wifi it is taking lot of time some times not getting coneect if the signal is poor, while my laptop, my phone and my ipod were connecting very fast. is their any solution.

If your router is dual-band, try ensuring that the SSID is different for the 5GHz band from the 2.4GHz one.
If sounds like your other devices which have no issue would all be 2.4GHz only.
If this is the case, try updating your router firmware - latest can firmware can make it easier for dual-band devices to connect firmly to the router without 'hunting' between signals of similar strength from the two bands from the same router.

  • IPad Wifi connection speed

I checked my Airport Extreme stats to se what my new iPad is connecting at, I was very disappointed to se it connects at only 39Mbs. Even my gen1 iPod touch connects at 54MBs and my Macbook over 100Mbs. I verified my speed on a Time capsule with the same results.
    What are others seeing?
    Joe

For those that are seeing problems, did you make sure your FW is up to date on the AEBS?
If you have a Mac click Applications>Utilities>Airport Utility. You should see your base-station in there and there will be a button that says update firmware. Click that and make sure it's up to date, then report back.
I suspect that could be one potential reason if the iPad is not seeing any throughput issues only reporting the wrong number. What you are saying would suggest to me it's not the iPad HW, but potentially the SW of either the iPad or AEBS. But if I was a betting man, I'd say it's older FW on the airport, since the client will connect to whatever it's told to connect to. The AEBS would control what it should connect to.

  • IPad wifi connection drops - have tried evereything - any other suggestions

    Hi all,
I'm experiencing the connectivity issue with my iPad whereby randomly it will stop transmitting data (ie cant go on the Internet). The Wifi symbol is till shown, but there is no data throughput whatsoever. To fix, I have to turn off the wifi on the iPad and turn it on again.
There doesn't seem to be any consistency to when this happens. It isn't related to coming out of sleep or the type of apps I am running. sometimes it will happen in quick succession, other times it won't happen for a few hours or maybe until the next day.
There are two iPhones, a Mac mini and and Vista laptop on the same network and none of them experience this problem. The router is a Sky broadband wireless router. It is set to WPA security.
    I have tried:
    - upgrading to firmware 3.2.2 and doing a restore
    - resetting network settings on iPad
    - restarting router
    - changing channel of router (have tried 4 different channels so far)
    - switching router from mixed (b/g) mode to just g
    - forgetting network and reconnecting on iPad
    - moving closer to router
    - disabling auto-brightness
    - setting brightness to maximum
    - changing DNS on iPad
I have also tried most tips on this page with no joy:
    http://appletoolbox.com/2010/04/special-report-fixing-ipad-wi-fi-issues/
It just seems like nothing is going to work, and I am considering returning this to Apple in the hope of either a replacement or a fix. This problem is really annoying and clearly and issue with the iPad as many other devices have no problems. Even if a replacement router may fix this, clearly the iPad is at fault here.
Does anyone have any other suggestions? If not, what do you think will happen if I take this back to Apple? Perhaps I can get a guarantee that they'll swap it with the next-gen iPad when it comes out?
Looking forward to your advice, thanks for reading.

I don't have any real words of help except to say I went through something similar with an iMac. It would drop and pick up the wireless signal repeatedly but often sat there unable to connect. That was solved by something weird, like turning off the "show on screen" option for the airport wireless signal. I don't think you can alter that setting on the iPad though. My point is, if this was a problem out of the box I could see it being the iPad and that maybe getting a replacement unit would work (my wife recently bought a cheap B&N reader that would not access the wireless network, replaced it and everything worked). But if this is a problem that developed over time or just started out of the blue, then maybe it is a corrupted file or something that could be fixed with reinstalling the system. I know when you sync an iPod and iPhone with iTunes you have the option of wiping everything and reinstalling, so I am assuming it's an option for the iPad too. If you haven't tried reinstalling, perhaps that can be a next step.
    Good luck!
    Good luck!
    P.S.

  • Ipad wifi connection problem

When I first started my ipad a few weeks ago, I set up the wifi I have at home, no problem. But yesterday and today I have had intermittent problems with the wifi not working on my ipad. It gives me the message, no connection and then asks for my password. I have entered the password several times (I have confirmed that it is correct) but to no avail. It keeps telling me the password is incorrect!! My daughter's laptop and mine both work fine but not the ipad.

Restart the iPad and see if that works.
Restart the iPad by holding down on the sleep button until the red slider appears and then slide to shut off. To power up hold the sleep button until the Apple logo appears and let go of the button.
    If that doesn't work ....
Try resetting the network settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings and then enter the network information and try again.
    Or ....
You can also try Settings>WiFi>Tap the blue arrow next to your network name and then tap - Forget this Network. Then find the network and enter the passord again.

Apple, do you read these messages? Any software updates coming soon to fix this major issue?

Actually Apple doesn't read these messages. These are user-to-user forums.
To report a problem to Apple visit http://www.apple.com/feedback/ipad.html or contact Apple support.
Perhaps someone could offer some help if you gave some details of the specifics of you problem, i.e., router make and model, encryption type (WEP, WPA, WPA2), WiFi type 802.11g or n, etc.
The iPad should automatically connect to known networks. Note that for most iPad users this is the case. If you search these forums you will find many posts about having to re-enter WiFi passwords see also Apple trouble shooting guide 3304 - http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3304

  • IPad Wifi Connection no longer connecting--other devices OK

I have an issue with my iPad 1 where I previously was able to connect to my Linksys home wireless network but can no longer.
My MacBook and friends are able to connect regularly with no problems.  I have reset my iPad but continue to get "Unable to join the network" upon entering my password.  iPad is able to connect to other WiFi networks.
Additionally, the "forget this network" option is nowhere to be found for my home network in Settings.
    Any ideas?
    Many thanks!!!
    --nicholskc

Try this, turn your Wi-Fi off on your iPad, wait a few seconds then turn it back on, If that don't work you can click the renew lease button on the bottom of your Wi-Fi network window.  And as a last resort you can reset your network settings by clicking on settings>general>reset,
