Can someone point me to more list of new features as highlighted by Apple. As I can only visibly see less than 10. Also, don't give me the explanation that most features are available only on the iPhone 4

Ever since the release of IOS4, I have heard the term "over 100 new features" thrown around, yet I can not find an official list of these features. Does anybody know where an official list can be found with each feature number listed out? I feel like it is just a hype term they have used, but it isn't documented anywhere. ok i saw the first 3-4 new features, where are the other 96? what a long wait for the new software for a couple features. does it really take that much to add a few basic features? i cant live without this addicting phone, but i need MORE MORE MORE!!!!

yes there are apps you can buy but even a £20 phone lets you do all of above without added cost to the user.
and where is the software reset for clearing the memory or is that an afterthought too.

100 New Features in iPhone OS 3.0? WHAT ARE THEY!?
I've noticed apple saying there are 100 new features in the iPhone OS 3.0. What exactly are they? I've watched the presentation video that was like over an hour long and there really are only maybe 20 new features mentioned. That is, as long as they're not counting 'cut, copy, and paste' as 5 different features since it works for mail, safari, notes, etc.
is there a list of the 100 new features? cause i want to know themI'm so simple that all I want is universal ringtones across all apps that have "alert" sounds (text messages, email, calendar- already available on phone calls & clock). Hate the provided sounds Apple gives us, would like to be able to assign specific music or self-made sounds so that I can hear them in a loud area, that are continual until answered, and that can be set as app-specific, just like ringtones can be caller-specific. Most phones have this feature, and I would use it daily, unlike many of the new features being touted. Anyone seen any mention of this (I watched the presentation, not mentioned). Oh, and please don't be a troll and tell me to contact Apple with a request- I do it on a weekly basis. Just looking for info, not basic noob advice.
BTW, I am soooo happy that MMS will finally be provided, as it will put an end to the "old" technology vs. use an email to send pictures argument so prevalent here. That particular back-and-forth has become quite aggravating. (Don't really care that much about MMS, rarely use it, but if it puts those arguments down, good for Apple.) -
Over 100 new songs appeared in my iTunes. Artists I've never heard of. All seem to be "iCloud" songs
over 100 new songs appeared on my iPad, and also on my laptop. All of them seem to be "iCloud" songs, though I don't fully understand iCloud. on my iPad, some of my songs are missing. That was how I realized the problem. I was making a playlist, and some of the songs i wanted to put in there were just gone. kept browsing artists and saw a few album covers I didn't recognize. when I went through it again, I found a LOT of songs I didn't recognize. so I checked my music library on my computer. the missing songs are still there, as are the new mystery songs. sure enough, when I sorted my music library by "cloud", a tiny handful of my own music was "cloud", but most of them I've never seen before. my iPhone seems to be the only device not affected. but now, I'm afraid to sync the iPad or iPhone with my computer, if it's just going to be deleting my music and replacing them. When I figure out what happened, I'll delete all of these new singles. I'm trying to think what I did differently recently. I backed up my computer on an external hard drive (if more of my music disappears, I hope I'll be able to retrieve it from previous back-ups. most weren't purchased from iTunes Store). when I make playlists, it sometimes tells me adding iCloud songs will do something, but I never have any problems. I don't care about storing things in the cloud when I don't understand it or see the benefits of it. All I want is my music on devices :) I haven't downloaded the new software update that I was prompted with yesterday, I will once I figure this out.
has this happened to anyone else? suddenly a lot of music you've never heard of appears in your music library? I'm so confused..I have also found mysterous new songs appear in my iTunes as living in iCloud. About 250 of them!
Sometimes they are a duplicate of songs I already have and sometimes they are songs I have never heard of, like Karina, Can't Find the Words. None of the new songs appeareing in iCloud are particularly good, or in my taste. I even have videos appearing in iCloud, like Kanye West Can't Tell Me Nothing.
Not what I usually listen to. Except for, that is, the songs that are now duplicated on iCloud, like Bad Romance by Lady Ga Ga. I'm not sure, but perhaps about half of the 250 songs on iCoud are duplicates of what I already have.
I have the choice to download the icloud songs into my iTunes library, and apparently at no cost. I can also delete them with the usual, Are-You-Sure warning.
I think this happened after I upgraded to the new version of iTunes. Is this a gift from Apple for upgrading? -

Does anyone know what they were? I have the spotlight search, the landscape option for texting, the voice recorder but other than that, what is there? I don't have 100 new features like it said. I don't even have the videocamera. The one thing I wanted.

dont get me wrong, i think the new software is awesome. but i dont see how it has 100 new features.
Some are up front and noticeable without looking, and some are under the hood so to speak with settings, etc.

When I got the prompt to update my iPod Touch 4th generation, the update claimed to have over 200 new features including Siri. Is there going to be another update that would make this a true statement?

Complete list of the new features in iOS 5?
Apple says the ios 5 operating system contains over 200 features. The apple web site lists some of these, and I coiunt about 16 features, or less than 8% of the over 200 new features. Anyone know where to find a list of the remaining 92% of new features? It bothers me to know that there might be things I could do with ios 5 but cannot simply because I do not know they exist.

You can now tweet from all apps that support it, including Location and Pics.
Safari can email not only the URL but the full content of a website.
Emails can be rich-edited and Mails can be marked.
Safari has a private browing mode and a Reader feature to do away the advertising . Reading List

The Photos app is compeltely new, the Camera has new features including editing,croping,red-eyes.
You can set various ringtones for individual events throughout the OS .. iTunes Store offers ringtones from StarWars :-P
You can give your Device a own name, and you have a picture in Gamecenter.
You no longer need a PC or a Mac and you have the cloud and a me.com email plus 5 gigs of online space where your ipod syncs itself if you wish ..
All those newspaper apps are now in one place..

The curtain has been pulled back on iPhone 4, and the list of new features is massive: There's multitasking (finally!), a refreshed interface, and literally hundreds of other changes, all coming this summer. Here's the rundown.
The new OS will ship in June (Fall for iPad, and a developer preview is available today, so we can expect to have plenty of apps updated and ready for launch.
New Features: Multitasking, App Folders and More
iPhone OS 4.0: The Best New Features
• Multitasking: It's here, finally. It's handled with a simple task switcher: double click your home button, and you get a list of running apps. Select, switch, done. Multitasking is limited to audio streaming, VoIP and GPS apps, as well as a few other allowances: they can finish specific, important tasks in the background, for example. As far as non-music/nav/VoIP apps, those can be suspended in the background, but not left running. (See below.) Full details here.
• Fast app switching: With iPhone 4's multitasking, most apps aren't actually running in the background—just certain functions of the app, like an audio stream or a GPS lock. But! All apps can now be frozen, in full, so that when you reopen them, they're restored to exactly the state they were in when they were closed.
• Local notifications: Notifications can be sent between apps on the phone, not just from remote servers. In other words, if something important happens in an app you've opened and moved away from, a notification will pop up in whatever app you're using at the time, effectively saying "switch back to me!" It's a fairly clever way to keep track of multiple apps without the need for a start bar or dock-type interface. From Apple's dev guidelines:
The advantage of local notifications is that they are independent of your application. Once a notification is scheduled, the system manages the delivery of it. Your application does not even have to be running when the notification is delivered.

iPhone OS 4's new multitasking offers users a new way to quickly move between apps, and provides developers seven new multitasking services to easily add multitasking features to their apps. • App folders: Now you can sort your apps into folders! That's homescreen clutter solved, just like that. Apple's description:
Folders help users better organize and quickly access their apps. Simply drag one app icon onto another, and a new folder is automatically created. The folder is automatically given a name based on the App Store category of that app, such as "Games," which the user can easily rename. Using folders, users can now organize and access over 2,000 apps on their iPhone.

iPhone OS 4.0: The Best New Features• iBooks: Oh hey, that iBooks ebook reader app and accompanying ebook store we first met on the iPad has ambled on down to the iPhone. Nice, since you can now take your books with you wherever you go, as oppose to wherever you go with your iPad.
• Custom backgrounds: Jailbreakers have them. ****, the iPad has them. Now you can choose a persistent background for your iPhone—and not just for the lockscreen.
• Game Center: Apple's going to roll out a centralized gaming service—a multiplayer network like PSN or Xbox Live—to help connect games to one another, by the end on the year. There are 3rd-party services that already do this, like OpenFeint. They will probably die. Full details here.
iPhone OS 4.0: The Best New Features
• iAd advertising: It looks like Apple's finally making use of Quattro, that mobile ad company it gobbled up a few months ago, by rolling out its own advertising platform, a turnkey ad plugin for app developers called iAd. The theory here is that instead of relying on links to external websites, which pull users out of apps whenever they tap on an ad, developers can use Apple's new tools to keep people in the app while still showing them advertising—sort of like popover browser windows. You can watch videos, play games, and even buy apps from within these ads. This is in the iPhone OS 4 developer tools, but it's not explicitly a part of OS 4, so you won't see apps with iAds until later this year. Full details here.
• 5x digital zoom: Could this hint at a higher quality camera in the next hardware? 3.2 megapixels seems a bit low for 5x digital zoom.
• Bluetooth keyboards: Another carryover from the iPad, Bluetooth keyboard support will finally come to iPhone 4.

Which Devices Get It, and When?
iPhone OS 4.0: The Best New Features
When the software ships in the summer, iPhone 3GSes and iPod Touch 3rd-gens devices will get all of the new features. The iPhone 3G and Touch 2G will get "many things," which doesn't include multitasking. I repeat: the iPhone 3G won't get multitasking, ever. iPhone 2Gs will be left on a hillside somewhere to die of exposure, or something.
Apple didn't drop any clues about the next iPhone's hardware, but it's a fair bet that we'll see some changes come June.
What About the iPad?

The iPad won't get the 4.0 upgrade until Fall of this year, a few months after the iPhone does. So, you'll be able to multitask on your dinky little iPhone before you'll be even be able to listen to Pandora and check your email at the same time on your giant iPad. -
I have been purchasing songs from itunes for the past year. I have over 100 songs. I recently got a new computer and I synched the iphone to it. I can't find 90% of my music. Where is it and how can I get it back? I checked itunes under purchased and it only shows 13 songs. Please help.
You can only sync with one computer. When you synced to the new computer it would have erased it and synced what was on the new computer.
You always need to have a backup, an iPhone is not a storage device.
When you get a new computer you need to transfer your library before syncing
If you don't have a backup you may be out of luck
The only thing would be if you're in the US and have access to the iCloud beta to reload purchases

My laptop computer was stolen six months ago. I had over 100 purchases from itunes on that laptop. I recently got a new laptop. Is there any way I can recover my purchases from itunes on to my new laptop?
