IOS5.1 on iPhone 4 Battery recharging only partially
With iOS5.1 on iPhone 4 I'm now and then experiencing only partial recharging of the battery overnight. Anyone else having this problem?
Let your battery run completely dry till your phone turns off itself (recaliberation of the battery). Recharge the phone then using a wall charger for over 2.5 hours or till completely charged.
Tell us if it solves the issue.

My iPhone 3GS (bought in July 2010) battery lasts from 4-6 hours with light usage (no 3G, 5 mins of web browsing, 15 mins of music playback). It is definitely not an issue of iOS 5 as it was giving much better battery life even after the update. Tried restoring but no change. Also, sometimes it displays random battery charge percentages and shuts off on its own. When it is fully discharged, it takes 30 minutes minimum for the iphone to boot up even when connected to an iPad power adapter. Should I replace the battery?Did you restore from backup or as new? If from backup, restore as new and see if the problem continues.
If it does, take the device to Apple for evaluation of the battery. -
when apple iPhone 4s battery completely drain out and recharge again,no out going or incoming call can be sent or received until rest the phone completly. Do we have any solution for this?
The problem was only for calls and network and other functionlities were working fine. So i did reset through settings-general-Reset-Reset all settings and re tried then it worked fine. But this is only a temporary solution need a permanent fix.

Here is what happens, and I've tried out several Apple chargers.
Unplugged, the battery charge icon shows only a tiny red bar for a charge, but it will come on.
The battery icon then displays a charging "lightening bolt" symbol showing charging when connected to any charger. But after a minute or two, the battery icon then changes to a "plugged in" symbol and the phone will no longer take a charge. I can recycle through this same sequence by unplugging and plugging back in the phone to a charger, but after a minute or two, that's it. -

My iPhone 4 battery will not recharge. I have all the updates for the phone and it works great. It shows 48% battery available. I plug the cable and adapter into the phone to charge it and it will sit overnight and still be only 48% charged. I recently had the battery replaced 4 months ago. The previous battery did the same thing. Is there something wrong with the battery or the software.

Three hours if definitely NOT normal. I get at least 48 hours out my 2 year old iPhone 4S' battery with light usage. Did you do the iOS 7 update on the phone it self (OTA) or through iTunes? In my experience most problems are caused by the OTA updates. For this reason I ALWAYS update using iTunes on my computer.
I would suggest restoring your phone using iTunes on your computer and setting it us as a new phone. This downloads a fresh copy of iOS 7.1 from Apple and installs it on your phone. Just make sure that you transfer all purchased items (apps, music, etc.) as well as photos to your computer before restoring as the restore will completely wipe your phone. Do not restore from a back-up. Yes, you will loose all your data on the phone but restoring a back-up can restore the problem you are currently having back to your phone. Once your phone has been restored you can manually sync back your apps and music.
Before restoring you can also check to see that battery-killers like Location Services, Background App Refresh, etc are only turned on for the apps that really need it. I recently read and article that said that the Facebook app can be a real battery killer. If you have this app installed turn of location services and background app refresh for this app and see if that helps. Also go to Settings / General / Restrictions / Location Services / System Services and turn off all the options in that menu. Your phone does not need any of those to function. Constantly using your phone's GPS is a huge battery killer. I only have Location Services enabled for Find my iPhone and Background App Refresh is turned off completely.

I Bought iphone 5 from USA when I came to India I started it then I noticed the battery stand by time is only 3 days. And when I use cellular data then it is live only for 2 and half hour. I bought this phone in January till now I am having the same problem. I have done all the thing whatever the support center told me about restore and all stuff. After that they told me to visit any apple store but there are no store in India and I'm helpless. For my iPhone only I can't go abroad to that country where stores are. Before I used to believe that apple products are the best but this iPhone has just disappointed me. You know my friend making fun of my mobile because they are using samsung product.

In most of the cases 3rd party apps or settings caused the battery to drain faster than before the new software has been set up. Sometimes the mail app tried to connect to the mail server over and over again, deleting and setting up the mail account can solve this problem.
In other cases social media apps did similar things to the phone.
Here are some suggestions for getting back the normal battery life, maybe they are helpful for your problem with your iPhone 5 as well.

That's not a battery recharge sign. It's telling you your phone is in recovery mode and you need to plug it into your computer running iTunes.

My yahoo mail is not working properly after installing iOS5 in my iphone. It doesn push new emails, it only shows emails up to specifically september 22nd. ive noticed several other people also has the same exact problem where they only have emails up to that exact random date!! anyone knows how to fix this?? ive tried deleting and readding the yahoo email account, stil doesn work. i got also got gmail in iphone, works fine. only yahoo mail seems to be broken with this iOS5 update! help!

Can I update my brothers iPhone and iPad to ios5 from my computer or can he only update from his own computer that he currently uses to sync?
Thanks joanlvhYou can update it on your computer, but then when he syncs it to his own it will say this iphone is already synced with another itunes account bla bla and will ask you if you want to sync it with this account. It will wipe anything you put on it using your own itunes account. BUT it wont wipe off the new iOS5

Dopo la tua risposta quella sera stessa ho provveduto ad eliminare il file ipsw seguendo le tue indicazioni e le indicazioni fornite nel link. Ho configurato poi nuovamente iPhone come nuovo dispositivo. Una volta resettato non ho installato nessuna apps, nessun contatto, niente di niente. Il telefono ha funzionato regolarmente ieri 12/09/2010 e questa mattina. Alle ore 15,30 di oggi mi sono accorto che era bloccato (icona collega a iTunes). Ho riavviato il telefono e dopo il riavvio è apparso il solito messaggio "iPhone attivo". Quindi come temevo NON abbiamo risolto.

At 3,30 p.m. today I realized that was locked (icon links to iTunes). I rebooted the phone and restart it appeared the usual message "iPhone activated". So as I was afraid we have not resolved. -

please help!! my iphone 4 battery died then when i tried to charge it the plug into itunes came up as my phone has gone into recovery mode for some stupid reason! i have tried tinyumbrella as itunes is giving me no other option but to restore, i dont want to restore as i have very important photos of my babies that i havnt backed up yet and CANT loose!! iv tried holding the 2 buttons intogether but that doesnt work either ! there is bound to be a way around this without loosing my photos. im tamping with apple, this shouldnt happen ! aswell as worring bout loosing all my photos and now i have no phone so am paying for a contract that doesnt even work . please please please helppppppp ! x
If your phone is in recovery mode, all the data on it, including those photos, is already lost. Leaving important photos on a phone for any length of time, such as baby pictures, as you've found out is a terrible idea.
You've no option but to restore your phone. -

Lower Brightness and turn wifi off when not in use, and close out apps that aren't in use and running in the background by hitting Home twice and then holding down the running application until it wiggles in the bottom toolbar that will pop up, then hit the x at the left of the application to close it out
