IOS5 Bug

Trying to select one date for the month of September, 1978, it seems that it is not possible to do that.
The only available date is September, 1 1978.
This is impacting any app asking to select, for example, the birthdate.
This seems to be a bug on iOS5 for iPhone, since I tried with iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4S and 3GS, while it is not present on iPAD (1st generation).
Someone with developer account should insert this as bug for Apple, if not done.

I'm trying to simply set the date&time from Settings, selecting 28/09/1978 and all the days in September 1978 are gray and cannot be selected, except 1/09/1978.
This is happening with all functionalities in my iPhone who are trying to set a date, since they use the core API's.

My IOS5 bug = SOLVED

I thought i'd post this since surely I'm not the only user with this particular problem.
I am using an iphone 4 with the latest updates. (5.0.1)
My phone got a firmware level reset at the Apple store last week after updating to IOS5.
Actually I didn't have this particlular bug until the Apple guys reset my phone.
My problem was I kept seeing the GPS icon after shutting down the Waze nav app I use daily.
I had to manually shut it down by turning off Location Services then turning them back on.
When checking my wife's iPhone 4, I noticed a service that was disabled on hers, but had been used within 24 hours on my phone.
I turned off:
Services/Location Services/System Services/Traffic
Today I got home from work with 52% battery left, which is better than I could get with IOS4.
Of course....

IOS5 bugs render iPhone unworkable

After upgrading an iPhone4 to iOS5 it has developed two issues..
1/ Exchange email will not sync over a 3G network (over Wifi works fine). The carrier networks settings are fine and the phone has been put into restore mode to return to factory settings, but it still wont sync over 3G.
2/ Personal Hotspot no longer works. I have noticed quite a few other people on the forums talking about this particular issue. Everyone seems to have a different answer but none are a 100% fix.
Unfortunately as this phone is used for business these two items are rather critical and are causing a major issue. I have searched to see if it's possible to downgrade the iOS to the previous version but have found the answer to be a resounding 'No'.
Nothing weird has been tried/installed/hacked/etc with this phone it has just had a normal life.
Short of dropping the phone in the bin and buying a competitive brand (and walking away with a bad taste for Apple) does anyone have any other thoughts.

Update.
Item 1 has been resolved. The fix ended up being that the sim card had to be replaced. No other changes were made in the end, just the service moved to a new sim card.
Item 2 will be tested again tonight.

Is it iOS5 bug?

I just upgraded my iPad2 from 5.0 to 5.0.1 and now I have problems with notification center with facebook and twitter application and more. The problem is same that when my friends or my following have new tweets or post in wall, but nothings notification in my iPad. So i bought MyPad+ and same problems still go on. But my friends using 5.0 they are never have same my problem, is it bugging of iOS 5.0.1 or my applications?
Ntification center are always setting on the screen, so how can i do?

IOS5 Bug: How to Repeat Messages Banner When Repeat Alert Is Set x Times

Under Settings >> Notifications >> Messages, I have the following settings set
Notification Center: ON
Show: 10 Recent Items
Alert Style: Banners
Badge App Icon: ON
Show Preview: OFF
Repeat Alert: 5 Times
View in Lock Screen: ON
I noticed the Alert Style: Banner does NOT repeat, but the Alert Style: Alerts will repeat and initiate a popup. Does anyone notice this when the Repeat Alert option is set? It would prefer to get the Banner how ever many times it is set in the Repeat Alert.
Am I doing something wrong?

What you've described is the way it works. The Alert repeat applies to the Alert type of notification, not to the banner.
You can view the banner alerts at any time by swiping down from the top of the screen

How do you (un)loop songs in iOS5?

Before upgrading to iOS5 on my 3GS, I had a song in iTunes playing on repeat (i.e. looped). After the upgrade, it seems the repeat/loop button is no longer present. This is particularly a problem because every song I choose now (playlist or not) is on a never-ending loop. How do I fix this?
PS I have restarted the phone with no success.

I figured it out. Instead of the scrubber, loop, and shuffle icons to the top of the screen, there were (oddly) five stars for rating the song. I went to Genius mixes and the songs there were as before i.e. with scrubber, etc., instead of silly stars. When I went to the regular player, stars were gone and scrubber, loop, and shuffle had returned. iOS5 bug.

Bluetooth issue after IOS5 upgrade

I just upgraded from IOS4 to IOS5 on iPhone 4. With IOS4, my contacts are sorted and displayed as LAST, FIRST both on the phone and on the car display (BMW 328i). After the IOS5 upgrade, the contacts are still displayed LAST, FIRST on the phone but FIRST, LAST on the car display. Outgoing calls placed from the phone show up as ******* on the car display, but outgoing calls placed from the car menu show the correct (albeit LAST, FIRST) name on the phone.
Nothing changed with the car's bluetooth setup.
I've seen similar posts - is this just an IOS5 bug?
I will try pairing the phone and car again, and reverse the phone's sort order to FIRST, LAST to see if that makes a difference.

I have a Bmw 5 series, afer the switch to IOS 5 the bluetooth in my iphone 4 stopped working,it si ply does not recognise other bluetooth devices or the car.
Will apple issue an updeto IOS 5 ? Orwill BMW update the car's software?
Is there a way to returning to IOS 4? ios 5 is nice but not spectacular, having bluetooth in working order is essential. Shame on Apple, becoming mre like microsoft, releaing software with important bugs.

Location Services always ON with Auto Date/Time/Timezone ON

iOS5 lets you see the Location Services (LS) indicator in the Status Bar when system services are using LS in addition to when apps are using LS. I turned this ON (Settings > Location Services > System Services > Status Bar Icon) and immediately saw that "Setting Time Zone" was using LS.
I went into Settings > General > Date & Time and saw that "Set Automatically" was ON. As soon as I turned it OFF the LS indicator disappeared.
Does this mean that LS is always ON when you've got auto Date & Time on? It looks like that to me...
Anyone else seeing this? I wonder whether this is an iOS5 bug or whether it's always behaved like this?

I checked my friend's IPHONE 4S. Date & Time->Set Automatically is set to ON and in Location Services-> Setting Time Zone is set to On but it does not use GPS regularly but my Phone does I have tried everything Setup as new, erase all setting, reset all settings, reset network settings and restore from BACKUP. My Problem is persitent. The Only difference I notice in my mobile and friend's mobile is that he bought from Saudi Arabia and I bought from Australia (though it has been swaped by genious bar). He is using Telstra and I am using Vodafone. both has 9A406.
Hard to figure out what is this?

Iphone won't send mail - does receive

This seems to have been discussed ad nauseum, but I can't figure out the solution for me. I get the following message when trying to send or reply to emails "iphone won't send email a copy has been placed in your outbox. the sender address ______was rejected by the server". On wifi everything works, not when I am off though. My email provider is Roadrunner (.twcny.rr.com)
Everything was fine up until yesterday. I don't know what could have changed.....
Any help would be appreciated.

I'm having same difficulty. Was on tech support this AM and they couldn't figure it out either. I'm setting up a home wifi in next few days, will be interested to see if situation changes. My iPhone seems convinced that I'm [email protected] and tries to originate email from that address, only to be rejected by server as you describe. I can receive email that is addressed to [email protected], but even replying to such mail gets the same error. I'm beginning to suspect an ios5 bug, or there's something else about authorizing email addresses than is covered in documentation.

I mostly use technology for education and professional audiovisuals and lights.
I don't sync music because I use music from at least 4 different computers. (manually mange music)
I use my iPad to play performance tracks for church and a local gospel group out of our church, Won4Christ.
I chose to buy the iPad because the laptop of one of the group members (dellxps running iTunes) was randomly losing and mixing up music and I wanted a more stable option that was bigger than my iPod touch.
I tried to add some data to music libraries that I previously added to my iPad, but the data only shows up when looking at the device in iTunes.
Wifi sync has not worked on either my laptop or desktop ( both running windows 7 enterprise 64 and newest iTunes) not really a big issue, but very annoying
When browsing through library playlist albums on the iPad, random artwork shows up on playlists with no artwork that you touch while dragging, and it does not go away until you change to another navigation tab and back.
Random songs out of hundreds that I added showed up in iTunes grayed out with a sync circle beside them. Those songs would play back okay on the iPad but were unplayable through the iTunes device view. I had to delete the songs manually through the library along with the playlist and add them again.
These seem to be major stability bugs in the "new" music app and iTunes. My only option right now seems to be to delete the songs that I want to change and re-add them with the changes already applied rather than changing the id3 tags and artwork on the existing music. I hope apple will release updates to resolve these issues.

IPad2 iOS5 random photo sorting bug?

After upgrading my iPad2 to iOS5, the photo sorting in albums appears to be totally randomized which makes it pretty much unusable. Is this a bug? Before the upgrade, it used to be sorted by the time the photo was taken and this was at least better than apparent random sorting. Reverting to the previous sort method would be a good fix. Better would be to have a simple way to control the sort order.

I have lion and all of the latest updates, moved from mobile me to i cloud but my "albulms" on the i pod, i phone and i pad won't stay in the same order that they are in i photo or i tunes. The genius bar at the store went through everything and said that it's an update problem that will have to fix it. I hope they get to work quickly. 2 years ago I was promised by a senior tech that the album sorting problem would be fixed in i photo (about 20% of my albums won't stay sorted by title no matter what I do and about 80% will) and that has never been fixed.
I pray that they read these forums and realize their problems that need to be fixed because it's impossible to go to a saved item on my iphone or ipad without any order to the sorting.

Photos app scrolling bug STILL present in iOS5

Hi all,
There have been numerous threads posted about a bug in the Photos app where the events and albums listed appear underneath the titlebar. As opposed to the titlebar being a solid colour, it is opaque so you can see the list underneath it which is really annoying and can sometimes prevent you from being able to select the album you want.

I'm disappointed this is still present in iOS5. It is such an obvious bug, how has this still gone unnoticed by Apple? Does anyone have any further info on this?
P.S. The trick of force-closing the app doesn't work anymore either.

1.2 fixes a bug in the auto-write mechanism that severely effected the performance of auto-write when files with changes were offline. Unfortunately, we didn't have time in the cycle to drastically enhance performance of the XMP auto-write mechanism for making large batches of changes or toggling the option on and off. The Lightroom team is aware of these issues and is working to resolve them for a later release.

Apple this is a bug in ios5!

Apple, I love your products but this is a small bug I have discovered using ios5 with iphone 4s. When i am listening to a podcast at x2 speed and I receive a call via bluetooth it returns to my podcast at regular speed even though it still shows it at x2 speed. Very small but kinda annoying...this worked fine in ios4.

I noted when listening at x1.5 speed it was breaking up, but was OK at x2

How can iOS5 be a software bug and only effect some iPhones?

How can IOS 5 be a software bug and not effect every device running that firmware? Could it be a hardware issue? Has anyone noticed in Settings>About>Diagnostics there are loads more logs about crashing/low memory/ and many others since IOS5?

It probably has something to do with settings. I haven't had any battery drain issue on my 4S (which started out with settings I restored from a backup of my iPhone 3G), but I had extremely rapid drain on my iPad 1 when I upgraded to iOS 5. I figured out quite quickly that it was the auto time zone support, and turning it off made things basically perfect again. I suspect it might be because I was previously using iOS4 on the iPad, and some setting or something was creating the problem, which was absent on the iPhone.
Of course, that's pure speculation— if Apple has it figured out, they could choose to transparently explain what exactly the bug was (though I suspect we won't get any details like that)
