IOS5 Update and Twitter App

When I updated to iOS5 the tweets in my twitter timeline disappeared, almost starting from scratch. Any fix?

My ipod touch is telling me that the skype and twitter apps need updating. When I try to run them they fail. I have tried deleting the apps via itunes but it doesn't work and I have tried updating the apps via itunes and it says they are updated.

I have tried connecting the ipod to itunes and removing the apps, to reload them but that does not work either. If I try and update the apps through itunes the system tells me they are updated. Can anyone assist please?

- Have you tried deleting them from the iPod and then redownloading them dorectly to the iPod?

Facebook and Twitter app on iphone 5s

I downloaded the facebook and twitter app on my iphone 5s and selected their respective notification sounds in the Settings but, even after that, I did not receive any notification sound whatsoever either for FB or twitter.
After sifting through, I could change the settings in FB but notification sound, for one, is only the default sound provided and not the one I chose it should be. Secondly, its only for posts and mentions and not for the likes.
As regards Twitter, I checked through the settings of the App but I did not see any option for changing the settings. All I saw was "Sound Effects" and the same was already swithced on. One of my tweets recently got favourited and I could see the same in my app but did not receive any notification thereof.
Help would be appreciated.

The Facebook App has been having issues for a few days now. I recommend deleting, then reinstalling. If you continue to have problems, contact Facebook for support at Facebook Support

I recently updated the twitter app but now the icon is gone.

I am using a iphone 4s with iOS 7.0.4 I recently went updated my twitter app to 6.0 and when it was finished updating my icon disapeaed completly. I tried going to the app store to re-install but where the install botton should be it just says open and when I tap the open button nothing happens. I have tried searching for it in my phone and nothing comes up. I have also reset my home screen layout, double checked all restrictions and nothing. I even plugged my phone into my computer and twitter is not listed in my installed apps but still my phone thinks it is. I have tried everything and nothing has worked. Please help.

Try a reset.

You can log out of the currently logged in account by taping on the id in Settings > Store (Settings > iTunes & App Stores on iOS 6) and you can then log back in.
If you updated your existing account with a new email address then that shoud 'refresh' it on it
If you created a new account then any content that you purchased/downloaded via the old account will remain tied to that old account, and only that old account can redownload its content and download updates to its apps. You should be able to update an account's email address via this page : http://appleid.apple.com

Close all apps in the Task Bar. Double-click the Home button and hold apps down for a second or two. Tap the minus sign to close app.

I just got a new computer and i still have to use old comp to update and manage apps. how do i switch over to my new comp?

What I do when I get a new computer is the first time I turn it on is use Setup Assistant. Once Setup Assistant has finished doing its thing, the new computer is just like my old one.

Reset time, press and hold both the power and home buttons for 10-15 seconds till the Apple logo appears. Release both buttons. Wait 15-20 seconds till your iPad starts on it's own. Check the downloads.

Ios5 update erased my apps

After I just downloaded the ios5 update, all the apps on my phone are gone. I'm sure I can redownload them again, but i'm worried that the apps which had information stored in them are not recoverable. Anyone had similar experience? Is there any way to get that back? I had backed up all my purchases before I started the update, so I am not sure why it happened?

If you've transferred your purchases over to your iTunes before you updated, then you should be able to re-sync your app with their information stored.

Safari, Software Update and Mail apps won't connect

Safari, Software Update and Mail apps won't connect to the Internet. Software Update fails with a suggestion of running Network Diagnostic. Network diagnostic says everything is fine. Firefox connects without any problems. Any ideas. This is my work computer and I need it to work.

Fixed it myself. Under network settings "Auto Proxy Discovery" was enabled. When I turned this off everything started working again. Not sure how this was enabled in the first place.
