IOS6 on iPhone 4s deleted contacts and calendar dates

I updated iOS6 on my iPhone 4s and it deleted all my contacts and calendar dates.
I have a 2008 Macbook Pro running 10.5.8 Leopard and iTunes 10.6
I plugged in my phone after realizing all my contacts and dates were deleted. iTunes popped up and said that my iPhone was not compatible with it and I needed to download iTunes 10.6.3 or later.
Since I am running 10.5.8 Leopard, I can't download iTunes 10.7 (which I think is the only thing I can download currently off of Apple).
Does anyone have a solution for me on how to get my contacts and dates back?

I too have had everything wiped off my phone when updating to iOS 6. Never had this problem before and was not clearly informed that the phone may get wiped (sure, there was an essay to read but, like most people, just clicked confirm). Every other update I've had has gone smoothly without a problem so presumed this would be the same.
Why was there not a clear warning stated before going ahead with the upgrade that your phone may get wiped and you will need to back it up just incase?

NB was able to get my contacts back only via iCloud.

It should all be on your computer in whatever program you have been syncing.

Microsoft Exchange - saving contacts and calendar data

I have just joined a new company and I will be connecting my iPhone to their email network using Microsoft Exchange. However, I want to make sure I do not lose my existing contact and calendar data. Does anybody have any suggestions on what I can do? Currently, my contacts and calendar are synchronized with Outlook in my home computer.

As long as your contact and calendar data is synced to Outlook, you shouldn't lose anything as it will still be saved on your computer.
If you'd like to keep your personal contacts and calendars synced concurrently to your iPhone along with the companies, you could either move your contacts to their server or apply for a MobileMe account, which would keep your data separate: http://www.apple.com/mobileme/

The contacts and calendar data on my iPod touch will not sync with my Mac

I have a 2nd generation ipod touch, and an iMac running iTunes 8.2.1.
I have been away from my mac for a few months and have entered a lot of contact and calendar info into my ipod touch.
Now, when I try to sync the contacts and calendar data on my ipod touch with my mac, the data will not sync to my mac.
Similarly, for the last couple months, the contact and calendar data on my ipod touch has not been able to sync with my mobileme account.
I cannot afford to lose the contact and calendar data on my ipod touch.
Can anyone kindly inform me how to fix this syncing problem without losing such data?

You'd have to think through this, but it seems like if you are using Outlook, and the items vanished from the Outlook client as well as the server,that you could re-populate Outlook using iTunes.

I use a 5G 80gb Ipod on my Windows Computer and various Ipod programs to try to import the Contacts and Calendar Data from Microsoft Outlook and then use the data contained on Ipod is there any way that I can do the same from BT Yahoo Mail, Email folders please as I don't use Microsoft Outlook. Movies are not stored in your iCloud account unless you add them in the theater feature of iMovie version 10.

I'm sorry to hear you are having these issues with your iPhone. If the issue is limited to Contact and Calendars not syncing, even with the correct settings, when connecting your iPhone to iTunes via USB, you may want to try resetting Sync Services (which is limited to this specific function in Yosemite) and re-enabling your sync-related settings afterwards, as outlined in the following article:

How do I get my contact and calendar data brought back from iCloud and reinstated in Outlook on my PC?

I just accepted Apple's kind invitation to synchronize my Outlook contacts and calendar with their iCloud storage. I foolishly accepted the invitation only to discover that iCloud didn't synchronize my data but stole it without any warning as to what it was going to do. Does anyone know how I can recover my data and put it back onto Outlook on my PC? I need to be able to access it when I'm offline, which I can't do if it's all hidden away in the iCloud. Besides that, any new contacts that I add don't automatically get added to iCloud. The whole arrangement makes a mockery of the concept of "synchronization".

Your data is in Outlook, in the iCloud account instead of the local (Personal Folders) account.

Iphone 4s keeps deleting contacts and calendar events

I've had my phone for about 4 months now, and twice within this short time my phone has randomly been fine and then I'll text someone and the next thing I know all my contacts are gone as well as everything put into my calendar. What can I do? I have stuff backed up on iCloud, and I noticed the first time this happened my contact photos eventually came back within a week, but I still had to program all my contacts again so I'd have them. Anyone have any suggestions or know why this might be happening?

Nope, and this isn't the first problem I've been having with this phone. For months now I've been unable to use itunes on my computer to sync with my phone because it keeps coming up as not being able to read it and asking me to reset my phone to factory.

Synchronize iphone to outlook contacts and calendar

I have a new iPhone and the contacts were transferred from my old cell. I cannot get the outlook calendar nor the outlook contacts onto my iphone. I can't even get to iPhone information to play around with it as itunes doesn't show my iphone except when it is synchronizing and then it is gone as a device. How can I get itunes to let me look at the information to be synchronized and mostly, How can I get it to actually synchronize the icloud or even my desktop with the iphone. At first, it said it can't perform the handshake but then later saying there is a missing file (or file with the wrong name?). I've recently updated the security patch, not sure if there's anything to do with this.
Can some one kindly enlighten me what's going on and hopefully shad some light as in what I can do about it.

I've finaly restore my iPhone (and reinstall iTunes).
Everything is working fine. Even though.... I still have the error message in system.log !!!
But everything is OK, including sync with iCal.
iPhone 1.1.3 + Leopard 10.5.2

Exporting Contact and Calendar Data

Help, My son son recently upgraded and passed me his 3G phone. He has asked if I can export his contacts information to something like a csv file. I have no idea how to do this (and neither has he) so can anyone help please.

My Calendar and Contact info was intact. All email archives were lost (no big deal since all are in the MacBook anyway) and my default ring tone was changed.
Otherwise, so far so good.
Suggestion: Look in iTunes in your PC and see if the contact info is there; if so, try a resync.
