Personal Hot Spot setting not getting saved
Idem on my iPhone 4 with iOS 7.1 (successfully surfing with 3G) the personal hotspot APN entry is not saved. The iPhone wifi hotspot can be joined by an ipad or a macbook but there is no internet available on them. Same problem with a bluetooth pairing : no internet.

Same problems, unfortunatley I updated to 5.0 1 hour before going on holiday for three weeks and no way to restore my phone to try to remove it.At the same time, drop outs, range problems and the most annoying was my music and apps were corrupted and would not function properly :-(

I have upgrade ios 6 to ios7 on my iphone 5. I do NOT like it at all. I want to come back to the previous version. why is it so complicated? Why can I not find the instruction strait from apple? This is the worst possible upgrade ever. It make me think of when ericsson got sold to Sony....drastic PC change.
I would like to have simple instruction on how to downgrade.
It feel like a change that I did not ask for , ok I push the upgrade buttom, but really this is the worst update aver!

My phone is company phone, and once I upgraded to IOS7, my traveler lotus note does not work anymore, I can not receive email on my iphone anymore, please help to suggest either to reverse back to IOS6 or how receive the company mail with traveller lotus note. Thank you.

I have iphone 5 and the latest iO7.1. Since upgrading to IOS7.1 birthdays added to a contact are not shown in calendar anymore. It use to show automatically before. Can anyone help?
Click on calendars at the bottom of the screen. Make sure that birthdays are checked.
We may think we have 1 calendar, but iPhone puts things in different calendars. Sometimes we can somehow lose one. Well not really lost, but somehow it just gets de-selected. So just make sure that all that you want to see are checked.
One cool thing I like about this is that they have added US Holidays which didn't used to be there like on most paper calendars. Nice to have them available now! -
After downloading the ios7 to my iPhone 4s, the keyboard does not have the microphone so I can't speak to text. How do I get this feature back?
Go to Settings > General > Siri and turn Siri on. Once you turn it on, you will have the microphone key back on the keyboard

Icloud not showing iOS7 iphone or Mavericks MBA
Hi everyone,
I just updated my iPad mini to iOS 8.0.2, making sure not to install iCloud Drive because 1) I have a MacbookAir running Mavericks (10.9.4) and no intention of installing a beta version of Yosemite 2) I haven't had the time to update my iPhone.
Even without installing iCloud Drive, when I connect to my iCloud account, both my MBA and iPhone are no longer listed under My Devices.. So my questions are the following:
Does this mean that changes made in MBA or iPhone are not being transferred to iCloud? i.e. a new contact entry while not at home, or a calendar entry from an email checked on my mac?
If yes, then how can I fix this?
If not, then why are they not showing up?

LiliI just talked to Apple Support, after upgrading to ios7...and testing more with the maiden name field...
There reply was that the "Mainden Name" field is unique to OS X Contacts, and is no plans to bring it forward. I also just noticed that if a edit a contact that has this field on ios7 (the field doesn't show) and it syncs back via iCloud to my iMac...it wipes out the maiden name info!!!
I did notice that the new ios7/iCloud have several new/additional "relationship" fields, ie Spouse (which has been there) but now Mother, Father, etc....
Sooo... I guess I'll use the Father field to hold the maiden name info... works for me... :-) -

Thanks very much for your help, but I'm still overlooking something. I double checked to make sure that I did not have a hidden .txt file extention. I then decided to abandon the lock on preferences idea until I get it working. I converted my mozilla.cfg file back to plain text. I made sure I do not have an extra blank line at the end of each file. The syntax looks good, as far as I can tell. I'll copy and paste what I have so far. Did I have the file locations correct posted above? Also, if you feel i can delete some lines of text in my mozilla.cfg file I'll be happy to do so.

Thank youI found this strange glitch that wouldn't let me open my iTunes Store. I tried all the reset options and still iTunes would close a second after it opened. I fixed this. Instead of using the iTunes Store icon on your home page to open it. Go into music and click on store. It will say "Cannot Connect To Store". Just tap ok. Then tap on "featured" on the bottom of the screen. That will take you to the store front page. After that is loaded. Back out and the icon for iTunes Store on the home page should work just fine. Hope that helps.

Lightroom 5 Spot Removal Tool Lags and is not usable. The Spot Removal Tool really is pretty essential to the usability and workflow of Lightroom 5. Checking the other tools alongside the Spot Removal Tool, it appears that the Red Eye Correction Tool is also affected. Might it have something to do with the Process Version? I noticed when working with some older image files (using the 2010 Process Version), the Spot Removal Tool worked as previously experienced. Current images that have been "upgraded" to the New Process Version (2012) are now incapable of utilizing the Spot Removal Tool due to its very laggy and sporadic response. I've never experienced an issue like this with Lightroom (LR user since LR2). Mac OSX 10.7.5, 3.4GHz i7, 8GB 1333MHz DDR3
I've also noticed that reprocessing an image can revert the Spot Removal Tool to "useful" again (reverting from 2012 to 2010, then back to 2012). Doesn't always work and doesn't always "stick", as closing and reopenling LR usually reinitiates the laggy Spot Removal Tool.
I haven't seen anyone mention the Process Version as a potential culprit, nor have I seen any reliable workarounds. Reprocessing an image (or set of images) at least works for me for a while, though it would sure be nice to not have continue reprocessing images every time I open/use Lightroom 5.
LR5 is great and is all I need for the majority of my images. Unfortunately for me, though, that usability also necessitates the Spot Removal Tool's unhindered functionality.For some reason, it's clear that not everyone is experiencing such a massive slowdown / bottleneck when it comes to the Spot Removal Tool. If all users experienced this issue to this degree, they would have been clamoring for Adobe to address and rectify it immediately.
With all due respect, Sean, to make a suggestion like that proves you do not experience / have not experienced this issue / don't understand the severity to which this issue can affect workflow; simply "turning off noise reduction and lens correction" is definitely not a fix. If 16GB of RAM doesn't fix the issue, do you really think simply turning off noise reduction will? And as Bert Nase points out, to do that to large volumes of images increases workflow in a program designed to streamline workflow for large volumes of images.
1- One option is to change the process version in your first photo (2003/2010), then copy-paste that develop setting to the rest of your images. This will get all of your images to the point in your workflow where you can use the Spot Removal Tool on each image. Once spot removal is done, reconvert each image back to the current process version (2012) then re-accomplish the spots that reconverting lost.
2- Configuring presets is one work-around option, though you will need at least couple of them tailored to your workflow.
3- Changing your import settings to an earlier Process Version is an option, then accomplishing Spot Removal on each photo, then updating the Process Version on one and copy/paste to the rest, then re-accomplishing for each photo the spots lost in the conversion and continuing your workflow from there.
Readers of this thread can use the link above, but it can introduce its own issues, too. As noted, switching back-and-forth between Process Versions can delete some of your already-corrected spots and you'll have to re-correct them. Worse, a window prompt asking to create a virtual copy or proof will occasionally begin popping up.. closing the window, clicking "cancel", or choosing any other option in that pop-up window won't be "remembered" and the window pops back up with any further "click" on the image. Lightroom has to be shut down and the computer restarted for the issue to reset.
Yes, it's very frustrating and time consuming to say the least. So, unfortunately there is no fix, still only work-arounds. Hopefully this issue will be addressed and remedied in either the coming release of 5.2 (doubtful) or the Cloud version of Photoshop + Lightroom. -
i just bought an iPad from a friend. I think is generation 1 or 2 not sure where to look for this. Bottom line, I would like to update it to iOS7. Is this possible? It does not have the option for software update.

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 7.0.4. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.
Tip - If connected to your computer, you may need to disable your firewall and antivirus software temporarily. Then download and install the iOS update. Be sure and backup your iPad before the iOS update. After you update an iPad (except iPad 1) to iOS 6.x, the next update can be installed via wifi (i.e., not connected to your computer).

How to Upgrade to iOS 7
The iOS 7.0 update requires around 2.5 GB of storage space, so if your iPad is almost full, you may need to clear up some space. You can check your available space in Settings -> General -> Usage.
There are two ways to upgrade to iOS 7: You can use your Wi-Fi connection, or you can connect your iPad to your PC and update through iTunes. We'll go over each method.
To upgrade using Wi-Fi:
Note: If your iPad's battery is under 50%, you will want to plug it into your charger while performing the update.
Go into the iPad's Settings.
Locate and tap "General" from the menu on the left.
The second option from the top is "Software Update". Tap this to move into the update settings.
Tap "Download and Install". This will start the upgrade, which will take several minutes and will reboot your iPad during the process. If the Download and Install button is grayed out, trying clearing up some space. The space required by the update is mostly temporary, so you should gain most of it back after iOS 7 is installed.
Once the update is installed, you may have to run through the initial steps of setting up your iPad again. This is to account for new features and settings.
To upgrade using iTunes:
First, connect your iPad to your PC or Mac using the cable provided when you purchased your device. This will allow iTunes to communicate with your iPad.
You will also need the latest version of iTunes. Don't worry, you will be prompted to download the latest version when you launch iTunes. Once it installs, you may be asked to setup iCloud by logging into your iTunes account. If you have a Mac, you may be prompted on whether or not you want to enable the Find my Mac feature.
Now you are ready to begin the process:
If you upgraded iTunes earlier, go ahead and launch it. (For many, it will launch automatically when you plug in your iPad.)
Once iTunes is launched, it should automatically detect that a new version of the operating system exists and prompt you to upgrade to it. Choose Cancel. Before updating, you will want to manually sync your iPad to make sure everything is up to date.
After canceling the dialog box, iTunes should automatically sync with your iPad.
If iTunes doesn't automatically sync, you can manually do it by selecting your iPad within iTunes, clicking on the File menu and choosing Sync iPad from the list.
After your iPad has been synced to iTunes, select your iPad within iTunes. You can find it on the left side menu under Devices.
From the iPad screen, click on the Update button.
After verifying that you want to update your iPad, the process will begin. It takes a few minutes to update the operating system during which time your iPad may reboot a few times.
After updating, you may be asked a few questions when your device finally boots back up. This is to account for new settings and features.
