No, you can't bypass the passcode that way. You probably have your passcode set for a delay. Unless you have your passcode set for Immediatly, the screen will mostly go to sleep ("Autolock") before the phone locks. The default time for the phone to go to sleep is 1 minute. The default time for the passcode to kick in is 15 minutes. So, in those 14 minutes, the phone is not passcode locked. That's the way it's supposed to work. If you set the passcode to kick in as soon as the phone goes to sleep, the steps you outline do NOT let you bypass the lock code. I've verified this on my iPhone and iPad.

i have this really annoying bug with control center
when you open, for example sms app, the keyboard shows, and you want to pull CC up.
just do it slowly and you'll see how your finger is typing smth like " bgt", ios for some reason isn't blocking keyboard when i'm trying to use control center
when you'll it fast, there is 100% chance to type space or one extra letter
i think people can accept such kind of bug on galaxy phones, but not on iphone.
is there something that i can do to fix this?

Keyboard clicks don't register unless you lift your finger when it's on a key; while the fact that you are dragging your fingers over the letters when swiping up for Control Center causes keyboard keys to be pressed is certainly annoying and admittedly kind of dumb, it shouldn't result in any letters getting actually typed. I just tried this myself, and although I do manage to "hit" a key on each row of the keyboard, they keys themselves never register with the Messaging app because my finger doesn't lift until the end of the swipe to bring Control Center up.

You can't. Until the previous owner removes the activation lock, the device is useless to you; Apple won't remove it unless presented with proof that the registered owner is dead.

Change control process for updating the UPK topics

Is anyone using a change control process for updating the UPK topics for JD Edwards EnterpriseOne?
With publishing the whole module and everything linked, I am finding it difficult if a developer is updating a topic and maybe in the middle of it, but has it checked in to the server?
I would like to hear what others may be doing to control this.

Thanks for your response, I forgot to add that the five 3uk sims we have in use, I have tried all of them none of them are recongnised non of them have pin codes, I even purchased four more sims Tmobile (original carrier) Vodaphone, 3 and giffgaff.

If you are not already doing so, install from an Administrator account.
If you haven't already done so, download the iTunes Installer from:
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Then right click on the installer and select "Run as Administrator." (Even though you are using an admin account).
If that doesn't work, try creating a new administrator account and installing from there.

Have you synced this phone, with iTunes, while the passcode was enabled? If so, plug it in, iTunes running, & hit the Restore button on the Summary Pane. This will also erase the phone.
However, if you have not synced, while the passcode was enabled, you will not be able to do this without first enereting the passcode. If that's the case, try recovery mode:

Only the carrier to which the phone is locked can authorize an unlock. None of the Japanese carriers will do that. Sell the phone and buy one that works in Brazil.

The iPhone bought unlocked from the Apple store in the US will work in Brazil on GSM. Nevertheless the LTE frequencies might be different.
Be aware that:
You will NOT be able to order from the US Apple online store. You will have to go to a physical Apple store in the US.
The warranty is only valid in the US and you will not be able to get warranty service in Brazil.
With all of that, why not buy the iPhone in Brazil?

Upward swipe is not registering in iOS7 to bring up control center

Hi there. Basically, I just recently installed iOS7 on my iPhone 4. So far everything has been working really well, except for the control center. This is not related to that other security bug. My problem is, swiping upward on the phone works less than half the time to bring up the control center. I generally have to make an upward swiping motion four or five times before the control center goes up. It's just, odd. Notification center and spotlight respond perfectly to my swipes. I've even held the phone upside to see if maybe swiping toward me was just easier for the phone to interpret. No dice. Three other people I know have this exact same problem, all of them with iPhone 4. Has anyone else had this problem or now how to fix it? I've tried turning my phone on and off, I've let it run down and then recharged it, still the problem persists.

I had this problem also. First thing I tried was to reset your device.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. That seemed to help.
But then I discovered that a light swipe starting just off the screen at the bottom worked well.
When I tapped and swiped on the screen I often did not get the Control Center to come up. But after practicing some with a swipe beginning just off the bottom of the screen I get the Control Center to come up every time.

IPad 2 control center for music not working for iOS 7.0

I have downloaded iOS 7 on my iPad 2 and I cannot play music of control itune from the new control center. I have to play it by going to itune itself. Is there a bug on iPad 2 for control center? Other controls like wifi or airplane mode does work.

IPad mini rewind or skip on home control center for videos in iOS8 + WiFi problem

When I had iOS7 it was easy to skip an ad video on the websites before the main episode to watch just by opening the control center from below and by tapping the forward ">>" button it would skip the advertisement video without problems, but now with iOS 8.3 that I just uploaded because of the ugly emoji I can't skip any... I tap on this and nothing happens. Only if I press and hold it it'll go faster to the end but it's annoying on long videos, I just want to entirely skip it.
Do you guys have any solution on this?

P. S.: I don't know if I should open a new topic about this other issue, but when my family watches HD videos in their room (the content is from a far away country app) and "download" (not that, but it seems like they're downloading very large files, which is only watching streaming series), my iPad mini internet connection fails too much, it stops and everything weird. The Wi-Fi signal is good (three bars) because I'm freaking next to the router, but it goes very very slow because of them. I don't think it is an iOS problem (I had this on version 7 and 8.3) or anything, but I want more priority on my iPadMini than on my family's Android Samsung Galaxy S4 phone; I don't know how to fix this. They're stealing my fastness even though I'm two meters from the router and they are in the room... Is the antenna of my device worse than theirs? I contacted to my ISP and they can't do anything (bad routers without priority options). It's so sad, I thought Apple was better.

Why doesn't my music work in the control center for iPhone 5 iOS 7?

Yesterday I updated my iPhone 5 to iOS 7 and it was working fine with no problems, but today when i tried to play music using the control center, it wouldn't play anything at all. Okay, so I set the radio mode to 802.11n (802.11b/g compatible) and tried to see if my ATV recognized this. At first it did not... At first it picked up the network, then told me my password was wrong (which I knew was not). Then I tried again, same password, and it told me to make sure my connection was set up...it was... then said there was an error. I got fed up, got out of wireless set up, and it says that I'm connected to my network with full bars. Okay, I was a little weirded out, but okay, then I go to youtube... "Content not available." Same thing with trailers and whatnot... restart the box... now everything seems to be gravy.. except for the fact that I am getting a very weak signal. A very substantial difference from when I set my airport to 802.11n (802.11a compatible), which makes my ATV sing, but does not work with the iphone... Did I lose you? Perhaps I got a p.o.s. ATV.
