Ios7 audio is bad

After update from IOS6 to IOS7 on my Ipad 2 my audio is distorted and noisy how do I correct this

Try a Restart.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the red "slide to power off" slider appears, and then slide the slider. Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears.
Resetting your settings
You can also try resetting all settings. Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings. You will have to enter all of your device settings again.... All of the settings in the settings app will have to be re-entered. You won't lose any data, but it takes time to enter all of the settings again.
Resetting your device
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Apple recommends this only if you are unable to restart it.
Or if this doesn't work and nobody else on the blog doesn't have a better idea you can contact Apple.
Here is a link to their contacts with most of the information below.

  • Audio is bad after capture

I am capturing footage from my sony camera, thru my mac and onto my external harddrive. I am using a firewire cable to connect my computer to the camera and a USB calbe to connect my computer to my external hard drive. I have captured hours of footage this way, but have only recently been having this audio problem:
The audio on the tape is good, I can play it back on the camera and it sounds just fine. But when I capture in Final Cut Pro, there are weird audio glitches that keep happening. Also, I can't hear the audio coming from my computer unless I check the "preview" box under clip settings for audio. I don't remember having to do that before.
My Device Control setting is: FireWire NTSC Basic
My Capture/Input setting is: DV NTSC 48kHz
Any ideas? Maybe just a bad cord, but I'm hoping not as I don't want to have to buy a new cord to figure this out. If anyone has any suggestions, let me know!! Thanks guys.

Theoretically you should have enough bandwidth in a FW card to daisy chain a FW hd to the computer. What this means is plugging the FW cable from the HD into the computer's one port and then plugging the camera's fw output into the drive's second port. This is the cheap way to do it, but I would very strongly advise you to follow Jim's excellent advice and get a card.
The computer has circuits for different types of data streams. These circuits are called busses as they bus info from one place to another. Your machine has but one FW bus, as do most machines. By getting a card you're creating a second independent bus route, one for the flow of data from the camera to the computer, the other for the computer to the hard drive. The card just plugs into the card slot, piece of cake.
Adam Wilt summarizes it far better than I could at http://www.adamwilt.com/Tidbits.html.
Cut and paste from the site:
"FireWire Frustrations: FireWire 400 (FW400) has more than enough bandwidth even for dual-stream DV, yet plenty of problems can occur when running FireWire disks and FireWire cameras on the same bus. There are a few possible reasons for this:
    * The FW bus can only run as fast as the slowest device on it. Although Macs, PCs, and most drives should be talking S400 (400 Mbit/sec), many cameras and decks, both consumer and pro, only support S100 or S200 speeds. If you hang an S100 deck on your bus, you've just cut max throughput by a factor of four.
    * A DV stream runs about 29Mbit/sec (including audio, aux data, etc.). That's nearly 1/3 of the usable bandwidth on an S100 FW bus, leaving only two raw streams' worth of bandwidth for disk I/O. However, due to the bursty nature of disk I/O, one needs about twice DV's data rate to ensure timely delivery of data--and that's with internal ATA drives. Given the "thin pipe" of the remaining 71 Mbit/sec bandwidth, playing/recording a single stream of DV while supporting DV I/O on the same bus is getting uncomfortably close to the limit.
    * Some devices do not like to co-reside on a FW bus. Some Canon single-chip camcorders, Apple iSight webcams, and even some disk drives have been cited as "not playing well with others".
Many cameras / decks / converter boxes have used a very minimalist implementation of the 1394a spec, barely sufficient to find a compatible A/VC host on the bus and talk to it. Hence the oft-observed "baby duckling syndrome": hook up two FireWire decks to a Mac or PC, turn 'em on, and the first thing each one sees is mommy. Sometimes the decks talk to each other, ignoring the computer, sometimes one talks to the computer and the other is ignored, etc.
FireWire bridge chips in disk housings have comparable pathologies. Folks report that some drives work well on the end of a daisy chain but not in the middle of a daisy-chain, for example.
All these same caveats also apply when using a FW800 bus, of course.
I routinely play/record using a 7200rpm IBM DeskStar in a three-year-old ADS Pyro case using the Oxford 900 chipset with a Sony DSR-11, DHR-1000, or PD150 daisy-chained off it on an 800 MHz TiBook. I'm just lucky in that all this stuff happens to play nicely together. Your mileage may vary, depending on what equipment you're using.
Also note that using a common, low-cost FireWire hub will not help solve these sorts of problems. The best workaround I know of is to segregate disks on one bus, and your DV device on another. If you have a desktop or tower computer, you can add a PCI FireWire card; if you have a laptop with a CardBus slot, adding a CardBus FireWire adapter is the way to go."

  • Imported AIFF audio sounds bad when placed in sequence (HD Editing)

I've recently switched from DV-NTSC editing to HD (set-up for HDV 1080i60 in FCP). At first I had problems getting Final Cut to capture the video, but read a thread that suggested to trash my Final Cut preferences folder. I did, and it corrected my capture problem, but now I have a new problem. When I import .aif (or AIFF however you want to call it) it sounds fine when I play it in the FCP viewer, but when I drag it into the timeline it sounds choppy, a bit slow, distorted, and it's peaking bad. I made sure my QT conversion to AIFF is 44.1 kHz 16 bit Sterio, but doesn't make any difference. I've messed with levels, the audio playback settings, and a few other things that haven't helped. I've spent hours on discussion threads, and finally gave up to ask you experts out there. I would appreciate any advice!
    PowerBook G4 Mac OS X (10.4.8) Final Cut Pro 5.0.4, QT 7.1.3

Even at 48kHz, 16 bit Stereo...same issue. To me, Final Cut shouldn't really be that finicky with whether the AIFF is mono, sterio, or even the bit rate for that matter. The big question to me is, why didn't Final Cut care when my default setting was NTSC DVPRO, but now it cares when my default setting is HDV 1080i60? I see that my 1080i video (audio) is at 48 kHz, 16 bit sterio (which plays fine in the sequence) but the imported audio (same format) does not. I'm stumped.

  • After install ios7 ,,, audio quality not good... it lacks its depth and clarity.. what to do...

    after the installation of ios7..

    TOTALLY UNSATISFIED
if there is any solution ,, help me ... how to rectify

Hi, your post I'm sure was helpful to many.
I have a problem that goes a step further--my BB had BB Protect installed, but no password protection, when someone stole my phone.  The carrier tells me that whomever has it has "wiped" the device (master reset?).....is there any way to restore my data when my new phone arrives? Or, I also have Total Equipment Protection app--can that help me?
The only pictures I had of family, some members who have passed away, were on the memory card.  If I can't locate the phone, they are lost :' (
But there are also hundreds of phone numbers I infrequently call, but are my only connections to important people in my life; then there's also phone numbers for jobs I've applied to and the numbers I'm supposed to follow up with calls to (and names, email addresses, etc)?!
I really need all the info I can get--is there any way to restore what the theif wiped, at least???
Any help would be much appreciated!

  • 4s, just updated to ios7, audio problems

I updated to ios7 yesterday and everything was working fine, no problems for approx 24 hours.
Today while watching video on the Netflix app, the audio stopped working.
Now, this is what I have:
-Ringer does not work when i receive calls
    -Notification sounds do not work
-there is no audio with youtube, netflix or video files
    -no audio with itunes music
-sound toggle (up and down) do nothing.
-the silent/vibrate toggle above the audio toggles causes phone to vibrate but does not effect this audio problem
    however;
    In Settings; Sounds:
-when I use the volume slider for 'ringer and alerts' it plays the tone,
-when I select a different ringtone, it plays the tone,
-when I select a different text tone (tweet, mail etc/all others), it vibrates but DOES NOT play the tone
    Additionally,
-audio works for phone calls on both regular and speakerphone settings
-audio for all apps works when earbuds/headphones are plugged in, through headphones
    Troubleshooting attemts so far:
-vibrate toggle attempted, not the issue
-multiple soft and hard resets, no fix
    -cleaned charging port, no fix
    -cleaned earphone jack, no fix,
This appears to be a software update or app/setting compatibility issue.  I've read other threads that suggest turning off 'airplay'... i cannot find airplay anywhere in the settings or on my iphone.  I am not excited about going through the hassle of restoring my phone, losing music and saved app data.
I find it difficult to impossible to revert back to ios6.x.x and cannot restore my last backup from that version of ios.
My frustration abounds and makes competitor Android devices seem enticing.
    Please Apple, help me

I encountered the same problem lastweek, as much to my surprise after reading all blogs & fixes, here's what i did...
    1. I did a "Restore All" using iTunes directly connected to a pc/desktop, the reformat & reprograming only took 1hour to be exact, unlike wifi update, it took me 5hours & 45mins for total completeion of update iOs7 (which later on had problems due to unstable wifi connection)
Still the earpiece didn't work, but the phone performs fine now w/o a glitch, flawless...
    2. My last resort before claiming my warranty or having it fixed, i did what others did that made their phone work, believe it or not, neither did i, it yes was a hardware problem, a simple "LOOSE CONTACT" on the earpiece...
So what i did after vacum & cleanning it up thoroughly, applying controlled great pressure directly on the earpiece like cpr, i toggled my phone w/ great force hitting the sides by hand, much like tapping it on my hand w/ great force while on a call switching from loudspeaker to normal earpiece, until such time in less than 5mins, whala, it worked i heard audio again on the earpiece...
I've been so careful w/ my unit w/ outmost premium accessories & care, ignoring the fact that sometimes bcoz of the great protection we ignore some minor mishaps like dropping it on the floor from our lap... As simple as that could be the cause... So, if u think at times u might have unconciously dropped it even w/ case on, it may have caused it...
I hope this helps & also fixes yours... I know what it feels...
But just incase it doesn't, then yes it's time to claim your warranty...

  • Other audio sounds bad

    Hello,
When i am talking to someone on skype, othe audio sounds very bad and quite. Is this fixable?
    Best wishes,
    MAXman21000

To be effective, it's best to have the noise floor at or below -42dB and vocals riding around -15/18dB to get that clean separation expected from a treated room.
Look for at least a two second gap in your recording that has just the noise in it to capture a sample (right click, capture noise print).  I generally record 10 seconds of the rooms ambiance just for this purpose.
Much will depend on your initial capture and settings will vary and while the example below is a good starting point to tweak from there
it's best that you consider using a log curve, and add points to trace noise print contour to follow.
Back off the reduction settings and use small numbers for smoothing and transition width to avoid smearing/watery or tinny sounding results.
Like SteveG mentioned, using multiple passes in subtle steps works for many.  Experiment and let your ears be your guide.
Depending on the situation, its best leaving some slight noise in then try to remove it all and risk degrading the vocals or creating un-natural sounding, abrupt transitions from floor to voice.
Especially if you'll mix in a bed of music or the final result winds up as a compressed file on the net and that little extra effort gets lost anyway.

  • Audio book badly stuttering/skipping

I am so frustrated over the trouble I have had with my audio books, the main reason I wanted my Ipod. I had no problem getting the audio books on the Ipod, but when I play them back on the Ipod every so often they stutter so badly you can't even understand what the person reading the book is saying. I read a post that said that too large of a file size caused it, but through trial and error, no file size even down to the original files from the cd's uncombined at 3-5 meg each made any difference. I also saw a post where someone said time length could cause this problem, but again, after experimenting with different times down to the original 30-40 min per file, it made no difference either.I have tried converting the mp3 files to the AAC format, with no change. I don't know what else to do. Does anyone know what the cause and the fix for this problem are? It's totally frustrating to me that I can play a 7 gig movie file without a hitch, but the much smaller audio book files have and are still giving me fits. Any suggestions would greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
I have a similar problem with music files 'stuttering' or 'jittering' and it's particularly noticeable during quieter tracks. Almost sounds like crackles or pops in the background.
The interesting thing is that I played the same problematic files on the same machine using Windows Media Player and they were rock steady perfect!? Suggests to me an issue with the iTunes software. I was similarly tempted to reinstall iTunes and the audio drivers, but I see this didn't help another friend here with the same problem.
Th eproblem has come about since I transferred all music to my new computer running Windows 7 64 bit and wonder if there is an issue with the latest iTunes 64 bit version software??
    Any thoughts/advice please? Regards.

  • [SOLVED] Audio playing bad except with high CPU load

I recently switched to a new motherboard: Asus Z97-Deluxe
This motherboard has a ALC1150 audio chip, which uses the snd_hda_intel driver.
    CPU: Intel i5-4670K
    Kernel: 3.14.4-1-ARCH #1
    alsa-info: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0Bymxsc … sp=sharing
Audio is playing bad: 'radio noise', skipping, repeating. It is unusable.
Before I used pulseaudio, but to diagnose this problem I have removed it.
Now with alsa left, it plays a little bit better, but the problem is still there.
The only moment when the audio works great is when the CPU is busy, such as compiling a Linux kernel.
Sometimes moving the mouse has a positive impact too.
My gut feeling tells me the cause might be the BIOS, the driver, power management or CPU scheduler.
Since I have been searching for about a day on the Internet and trying most of the offered obvious solutions, I am now searching for active help.
Any suggestions how to approach this audio issue?

The option "options snd-hda-intel enable_msi=0" does not seem to have any effect.
For each change in alsa-base.conf, I have rebooted the machine.
There are no other sound cards in the system.

  • I found iOS7 working so bad on my iphone 4s. Whow can a I downgrade to ios 6?

After a huge resistence, finaly I upgrated to IOS7, and I´m really sad about how my iphone looks and behave, also I feel like I´m using a samsung Galaxy.
    I will like to downgrade.
    Thanks

I'm sorry, but Apple does not provide a downgrade path for iOS. Because downgrading is unsupported by Apple we cannot discuss it on these forums.
You may leave comments at Apple Feedback.

  • How do I get rid of iOS7 and get back to 6 which didn't crash, lock up, have a time delay on pressing buttons and have childish looking icon? iOS7 is shockingly bad and a disgrace that Apple have released it with so many problems.

As title. iOS7 is frustrating me to the point of switching to Android pretty soon if it is not fixed PROPERLY

It is unfortunate that you do not like iOS7,
but downgrading firmware is not supported by apple.

  • Audio gone bad for no reason!!

I made a complete movie, its played fine for over 3 months, then one day there is no audio and the video skips all over the place. The audio and video play fperfect when a single clip is being played, but when the whole movie is played, nothing works. I have no idea why this happened. ANy help would be greatly appreciated. thanks.

Me too! I even started to my project from scratch and was comforted that it seemed fine. Then when I extracted the audio, the video and audio portions got garbled.
Using iMovie 3.0.3 with Mac OS 10.3.9 and QuickTime 7.0.3 on both a PowerMac G4-400mhz (Gigabit Ethernet) and iBook G3-600mhz (Oct 2001).
I'll have to downgrade QT to get my project done.
I'd like to think that Apple will provide a fix. . . but I suppose they don't really have much incentive to support iMovie 3 when they're on iMovie HD 5 or whatever now. I suppose I need to weigh buying iLife '05 or a new Mac mini with iLife bundled.
    iMovie 3.0.3 & QT 7.0.3 Mac OS X (10.3.9)

  • Itunes severely lagging and audio quality bad

whenever i open my itunes it takes a while to use and it lags, closing itunes takes about 1 to 2 minutes. is there anything i can do to speed it up, i have the most recent version of itunes. also, the audio crackles a lot, even if i use headphones ( so its not my macbook pro's speakers)

This is not normal behavior for itunes. You should look into what it is with your setup that is causing this behavior. Corrupted disk/files, storing your music on an external drive or nas?

  • Quicktime Pro Audio is bad

Before I upgraded to the newest version of QT Pro, everything worked flaslessly. Now that I have upgraded and PAID AGAIN for QT Pro, all audio is completely garbled. This includes audio in QT and also everything I attempt to stream from the net. The ONLY thing that works is ITunes. I have checked every setting concievable including buffers, etc in my audio card.
Why is this? Is there going to be a fix for this or am I just out the money and out of luck.

Now I'm just plain mad. I uninstalled QT 7 and rolled back to QT 6 to see if that fixed things. Audio works perfectly again, but now ITunes doesn't work. So I re-install QT 7. But when I put in my Pro Key, which the app had advised me to write down when I uninstalled, it tells me it is an invalid number.
I guess Apple wants me to buy QT Pro a THIRD TIME FOR THE SAME COMPUTER!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Is there any help at all????????

  • Audio is bad?

When i import a song .mp3 into the left side and plaay it it sounds fine but when i drag it to the right where my video is the quality all of a sudden gets HORRIBLE whats going on????????

Utterly and totally clueless. And sadly no way I can even try to help until you offer a bit more info.
In general when asking questions here it's requested on the FAQ listed on the top of the forum's Overview page ...
OS/CPU/RAM/GPU (and which video drivers) ...
Disc layout involved (what internal/external & how connected) ...
Programs (to THE DOT), third party apps & plugins both used and even not used but installed, though especially if they've been in "this" project ...
Codecs/wrappers/cameras involved in producing the footage ...
Project started on current or a previous version of PrPro & migrated forward? ...
Maybe give us a screen shot of your sequence settings, and a better & more detailed description of the sound's ... sound.

  • Output audio from fmle is very bad

Hello for some reason out of the blue fmle just starts having degraded audio quality and almost sound like all the audio is badly cut together

    Hi,
Captivate identifies the original audio quality and imports it the same way. Please note that by default narration is recorded at 11Khz in PowerPoint. Hence it is imported inside Captivate with the same setting.
If you are using PowerPoint 2003, go to menu item Slide show > Record narration > change quality.
You will see the default setting at 11KHz.
Please change it to a higher frequency, may be 44.1KHz mono setting and then record narration. Now import the presentation inside Captivate. Audio should be much clearer.
    Regards,
    Mukul
