Ios7 beta 4 update - frozen during installation.

Hi. Guys I have a huge problem. I tried to install ios7 beta 4 on my iPhone 4s. I ve done everything correct. But After iTunes load installation to iphone. Itunes was closed and installation in Iphone has begin. After 24 hrs it's still on the same progress. I tried to rest iPhone but it's impossible. Each time installation starting and installation bar is empty all the time - no progress.

this type of problems occur when u dont  have battery charge of more than 50% or iPhone connected when updating a software
dont worry, now its simple to recover your iPhone back
press the lock button and home button simultaneously and connect it to iTunes, this will take you to the recovery mode..now u can restore your iPhone on iTunes
note: u will lose all the data on your iPhone when you restore.

was prompted to install update of 10.4.6 but during the installation the computer has frozen. The little bar that shows progress of installation is almost at the end but computer is frozen. the mouse cursor moves but nothing else responds. no previous problems at all until this moment.

i have spoken to the apple shop where we bought the computer, they suggested restarting to see if it has hopefully installed properly. Any suggestion on whether this is ok to do or what else to try? any suggestions gratefully appreciated.

Since it seemed to help some folks that were having trouble downloading the NIS updates, I have also tried downloading the updates with (winhttp) Proxy authentication on and off.
I have also tried recreating the C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution folder (Stop wuauserv; Rename folder; Start wuauserv; Folder recreated)
Still no luck. Any help or direction you can provide is much appreciated.
    Cheers,

    Hi,
    Thank you for the post.
I did some research regarding error “0x80070005”, you may perform the following steps and see if it helps:
    Step 1: Verify DCOM security
    1. Click Start, click Run, type Dcomcnfg, and then click OK.
    2. Expand Component Services, and then expand Computers.
    3. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
    4. Click the COM Security tab.
    5. Under Access Permissions, click Edit Default.
    6. Verify that the following accounts are listed:
    7. If any one of these accounts is missing in the Access Permission box, follow these steps:
    a.  Click Add, click Advanced, and then click Locations.
    b.  In the Locations box, click the Local_Computer_Name, and then click OK.
    c.  Click Find Now.
    d.  Press CTRL, click the required account names, and then click OK two times.
    e.  In the Group or User names box, click an account that you added, click Local Access in the Permissions for Account_Name box, and then click to select the check box in the Allow column.
    f.  Repeat step 7e for all the accounts that you just added, and then click OK.
Step 2: Verify DCOM default properties
    1. Click the Default Properties tab.
    2. Verify that the following configuration:
    • The Enable Distributed COM on this computer check box is selected.
    • In the Default Authentication level box, Connect is selected.
    • In the Default Impersonation level box, Identify is selected.
    3. Make any required changes, and then click OK.
    4. Restart the computer.

  • Software updates fail during installation

After a recent spate of system instability issues, I reinstalled the system software from my Tiger installation DVD. Ran software update which prompted me to download & installl Quicktime 7.1.5 and Security Update 2007-04. Both downloaded fine but failed installation. The in each case the software update log reports "Install failed: The following install step failed: run preflight script for {insert update name here}" I've tried all the troubleshooting techniques I've picked up in nearly twenty years as a Mac Power User and I'm stumped. Any suggestions besides doing a clean install?
    Powerbook G4 1.5 gHz (Jan 05)   Mac OS X (10.4.9)

Thank you, however my back-ups only cover my home folder, not the system and applications folders. I 've performed an archive & install already and that is what I believe put me in this trick to start with. I trashed the old (unstable) system folder after a few days to free space on my internal drive for the software updates I needed to install and now I'm stuck with updates I that won't install.

  • Update Failed during installation on machines

    Dear All,
I have deployed updates to the client machine upto deadline reached all machines were in IN PROGRESS and all of them have downloaded the updates so it was fine up to this but when deadline reached and installation started most of the failed to install the
updates and appeared in Error state, further digging in to this i saw there were few updates were failed on many machines.
Q1.Now my query is that why update failed though there are machines in which updates installed successfully.?
Q2. How these failed update will be installed automatically? Do i have to go seat by seat to re trigger the installation.?
Q3. I have made some changes in client settings in Software Update section. Like i have made 2 Hours to check Re Deployment. Is that right to do? To ensure all failure updates are re-installed after recheck.
Find attached snapshot for further reference.

Got this solution from another from
Yes, you can customize how frequently your clients re-evaluate software updates.
In your console, go to Administration, Client Settings
    "Create Custom Device Setting"
Give it a name like "Daily Software Update Re-eval"
check the box on the right for "software updates"
now on the left (because it just appeared), select Software Updates.
Change "Software Deployment Re Evaluation" from every 7 days to every 1 days
(optional: up to you if you want to change the scan schedule from every 7 days to every 1 day as well--totally your choice there).
Click OK once you've made your changes.
Now... you need to deploy that customization.  Right-click deploy it to whatever collection of machines you want to do daily instead of every 7 days.  If that happens to
be "all systems" of course that's up to you.

  • App store frozen during installation of iPhoto -- Why?

I am using the App Store to update iPhoto.  It has frozen with "less than a minute" to go.  How can I unfreeze it, or clear it and start again?  I have tried closing and re-opening the app, to no avail.  Perhaps a restart will help.  Has anyone else experienced this problem, and if so, how did you deal with it?  Thank you.

    Hi...
Definitely close the iPhoto app before updating the software.
Restart your Mac then try resuming the update download >  Mac App Store: How to resume interrupted downloads

  • App store Updates freezes during installation

So when I do App store updates, besides getting the "You already purchased this app" and the "are you 17 or older", It downloads the first app the installation gets to 100% (going by the blue bar) but it never finishes. However when I go to the app store and press Update all, it asks for my password gives me the "You already purchased this app" and the "are you 17 or old" again, finishes the first download completely and then happens to the next update.
No I do not let my devices sleep when I am doing an update. Nor is it signal problems.
Is this an iOS problem (seeing how my iPhone, iPod, and iPad) have the same exact problem? Also has anybody else have this problem?

I have the exact same problem with my iPad 2. Any fix?

  • My iPhone 4 is frozen during installation

It installed, then restarted and tried to install again.  Now it's been stuck with the bar partially filled for hours.  How do I restart my phone?

    Fixed!
[BTW... I was doing my update wirelessly without using iTunes or plugging my phone into the computer.]
I was scared to touch any buttons while it was in the middle of a OS update.  I talked to Apple support, and they had me try the following:
    1.  Hold the power button to see if it went away.  [It did not go away, so they went to option 2.]
    2.  Plug the phone into my computer with iTunes open.  [I could not do this b/c I'm in the middle of downloading the iTunes update.  So, they had me to to option 3.]
    3.  Hold power button and homescreen button until the frozen screen goes away and the reboot screen with just the apple shows... just like when you reboot your phone for any other reason.
The last one worked. It ended up going back to the apple with the progress bar, and the install went all the way.  It was a bit slow to load the last 1/4, but it worked.  Then, the phone went back to just the apple reboot screen.  I was concerned because it sat there a couple minutes, but then the iOS 6 configuration screen appeared.
Now we shall see how the rest of this goes.....

  • Adobe updater stalls during installation (Mac)

We bought CS3 premium a couple months ago and have tried to use the auto update from Adobe. Unfortunately after downloading the new version of RAW the updater hangs up and never completes. It is the only CS app that does this.

Adobe Updater is a piece of ****. It only works when you are the first user created on the system and it does not work when filevault is enabled. Amazing how they can get that program so crappy. It is hard to do this wrong. Just download directly and apply the updaters by hand.

  • Creative Suite 6 Frozen During Installation

Hi, I have just bought a Creative Suite 6 Design Standard Standalone for Mac OS. I have a MacBook Pro running Mac OS X 10.7.5. When installing the CS6 it will freeze at "Currently Installing Adobe Fonts Recommended". When it froze i am not able to force quit, i need to shut down and restart the laptop. I have tried the installation several times. I have copied to the harddisk and run the installation. I have also run Adobe Creative Suite Cleaner Tool and than install. Eveytime it will freeze at about 20% - "Currently Installing Adobe Fonts Recommended". Very much apprrciated for any help to get the installation going. Thanks.

SimpleSeed I would recommend reviewing your installation logs to determine the cause of the install failure.  You can find details on how to review the installation logs at Troubleshoot with install logs | CS5, CS5.5, CS6 - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cs5-cs5.html.
You can also try running the Adobe Support Advisor at http://www.adobe.com/support/loganalyzer/.  It may be able to identify the error for you.

Update2: There is something very wrong with wireless on mountain lion recovery. I don't know what the problem is, but this link may explain:
    http://osxdaily.com/2012/08/10/os-x-mountain-lion-10-8-1-beta-released-for-dev-t esting-may-include-wi-fi-fix/
Wireless recovery would start out with over 25 hours estimated and kept on failing. It turns out to be a two step process of downloading a few Mbytes then a 4Gbyte .dmg file, but I couldn't even download the Mbyte file. I bought the thunderbolt to gigabit ethernet adapter, plugged it in, restarted recovery and download of a little more than 4Gbytes took less than an hour. My limiting factor was probably comcast home internet rate of 12Mbps. The wi-fi wireless connection should be able to do over 100Mbps, so wireless shouldn't be much slower than wired, except wi-fi wireless is broken. Now that ML is installed and updated, wi-fi seems fine now, as I am using it right now, but I haven't tried downloading a big file yet.
Don't use wi-fi wireless for Mountain Lion recovery.

  • Updates during installation

I thought Apples is a great and wonderful machine and all softwares work much better than Microsoft but to find it is not true. Apples does has it own problem. I want to know why a simple update is very slow and take ages to install. I started on evening at 11:30 PM without AC power but after two hours it went to sleep and restarted after I wake up around 10:00 AM but at 11:30 AM still stuck at 16 minutes and not much had changed. In fact, it was at 11 minutes to installation to complete at 11:30 PM last night. So, I just don't understand how great Apples machine can be. Anybody can help?

    Hello,
Yes, Apple's computers are not 100% failure-proof, but there's no failure-proof technology. Even million dollar servers struggle sometimes. Apple machines are great, because they fail much less, than any other computers, and this has a very easy explanation: it is much easier to write an OS for pre-specified systems, than when you don't know what hardware it will run on.
An update can be slow due to various reasons. You can have slow Internet connection, or you could have lost the connection to the update-server during install. It is possible, that during installation some other piece of software used a file, which should have been replaced by the updater to proceed. And these are just two reasons of a thousand.
I suggest you to restart your computer, and stop every application but Software Update. Leave time for updates to download and install.
Install updates always on AC power. Running an update takes surprising amount of processor usage.
Optionally you can try updating later. There might me some trouble on the server side. Either high connection-demand, or updating the server itself.
Also, don't time updates for night. Normally and update should not take more than 20 minutes, you can wait this out, and if you fail several times, it may worth supervising the process.
If you still have technical problems, please answer to this thread. Without crabbing if possible.
    Regards,

  • Can't install os x server 4; stops at "Updating Calendar service" during installation.

After installing Yosemite I bought the new server 4. During installation, the new OS X Server comes to a point "Updating Calendar service" and the nothing happens.

    Hi
Presumably you have 10.4.x client already installed? What version of the client is it? What version of the OSX Installer DVD are you trying to install? Ideally they should be the same. Currently the latest verison of OSX Universal Installer is 10.4.7, ideally the client should be at least that or better still 10.4.8.
