Ios7 caused screen to become fuzzy or jumpy

I've had my iPhone 5 just over a year now taken good care of it and have never let it fall but since I updated to iOS 7, the bottom half of the screen has become fuzzy and jumpy as if it's double vision ?. I've reset the phone but that hasn't changed and I've updated to the latest iOS but it's still the same . My warranty is up but dye to work I couldn't send it off to be repaired as my carrier would not supply me with a replacement while my phone was away ! Any ideas ? Much appreciated

I saw your post, and had found it incredulous that you have a 1920x1080 display.  A bit of research and I found I was wrong.
So, it appears you are driving the panel at its native resolution.  Unfortunately, trying to determine what you mean by "Fuzzy" is probably going to be like trying to nail Jello to a tree.  But, let's give it a shot.  Is it fuzzy before you start X?  Are lines and shapes fuzzy? Or is it just text that is fuzzy?
If it is just fonts, it could be a problem with hinting.  Hinting is where the edges of fonts are deliberately fuzzed and feathered to get the kerning correct when the physical pixels of the display don't quite line up.  This works well, unless the thing doing the hinting does not understand the geometry of the display.  In a color LCD, each pixel is actually made up of smaller sub pixels, generally three -- A red, a green, and a blue.  Green is usually in the middle.  Some displays have Two greens per pixel, arranged RGBG.  Some displays even have yellow subpixels.  Sometimes the subpixels are arranged left to right, sometimes they are arranged top to bottom.  Long story short, if you have hinting enabled, but the geometry is configured incorrectly, bad things happen.   Take a look at this wiki article

  • Restore causes screen to become unresponsive

After 40 hours solid (from Friday 5pm until Sunday 9am) trying to solve my iPhone problem I decided to come here and post about it in case anyone else ever experiences this mysterious and frustrating issue. I finally seem to have found the solution. It took me 40 hours.
On Friday 12th December 2014 I went to a store and purchased a beautiful new iPhone 5s 32GB on IOS 8.1.2. There is no Apple store in New Zealand so I purchased from my cellular service provider retail outlet. The sales assistant affixed a tempered glass screen protector and I purchased a new case. I walked out of the store feeling super excited. This excitement quickly turned into complete despair.
The phone was working perfectly in the store whilst I did the initial signing in etc. I then went home and "restored" my new iphone from the back up I'd made from my old iphone 5 on my computer in iTunes in order to get all my music, apps, contacts, etc onto it. I then noticed that the screen on my new 5s had become unresponsive in various places, in particular the corners and centre edges. For example, when trying to type a text message the "A" and the "L" keys would need to be touched multiple times for them to work. So I returned to the store and showed them the unresponsive screen. They gave me a new iphone 5s handset. Again, the phone was working perfectly in the store but as soon as I went home and did a restore the screen became unresponsive again - in the same places as before.
I returned to the store again and they removed the tempered glass screen protector in case it was causing the problem, but the fault remained. The screen was unresponsive in the exact same spots. (Note that it was not entirely unresponsive but I would have to tap an icon multiple times before it would register my touch.) So, the technician then erased the phone and the fault disappeared. I went home and performed a new back up of my old iphone 5 then restored again to my new iphone 5s - and the fault returned. I tried erasing the iphone 5s again and tried restoring from an earlier back up but the fault returned every time I did a restore. This was becoming a headache.
At some point during all the restore attempts I performed a hard reset of the phone (holding home button and power button down) but had no luck with that either.
In case it was a bug on my pc or my iTunes, I then signed up to icloud and backed up my old iphone 5 to icloud, which took about 9 hours to upload. When it had finally finished, I erased my new iphone 5s yet again and then restored it using icloud. To my dismay, the problem of the unresponsive screen spots returned immediately following this icloud restoration.
I then went into settings and instead of "Erase All Content And Settings" yet again, this time instead I tried "Reset All Settings".
    IT FIXED IT!
So, it seems the answer was to reset all settings following the restore.
The phone is still showing "restoring from iCloud" on the home screen so I'm still worried the problem may reappear. I will come back and update if it does. But so far it seems to finally be fixed and I can get back to my life.
Apple, if you are reading this, I'm sorry to say, this has completely spoiled the whole experience of purchasing my new iphone 5s. This problem has dominated my life for 40 hours as I desperately struggled to achieve a correctly functioning cellphone. Feel free to contact me with some offer of compensatory credit to my iTunes account or such. I do not have an Apple shop I can visit in New Zealand.
I am wondering if this is an IOS 8.1.2 issue.

Hi, one of my daughters friends tried to access her ipod causing it to become disabled; i do not want her to lose all her photos, she accesses my itunes account which is on ICLOUD, will she lose all her data - can this be fixed? I do not think it has been synced with a computer before.

    Disabled
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:
    Disabled Recovery-must use syncing computer.
Otherwise y will have to restore and thus erase the iPod
    You can restore from backup
    If not in backup then:
    - If you used PhotoStream then try getting them from your PhotoStream. See that topic of:
iOS: Importing personal photos and videos from iOS devices to your computer
    - Maybe from the restored iPod via How to perform iPad recovery for photos, videos

    For how to restore:
    iTunes: Restoring iOS software
    To restore from backup see:
iOS: Back up and restore your iOS device with iCloud or iTunes
If you restore from iCloud backup the apps will be automatically downloaded. If you restore from iTunes backup the apps and music have to be in the iTunes library since synced media like apps and music are not included in the backup of the iOS device that iTunes makes.
You can redownload most iTunes purchases by:
Downloading past purchases from the App Store, iBookstore, and iTunes Store
If problem what happens or does not happen and when in the instructions? When you successfully get the iPod in recovery mode and connect to computer iTunes should say it found an iPod in recovery mode.
If you previously synced to the computer then you may be able to recover use of the iPod without erasing the iPod by following the instructions here:

and then my entire system freezes.  This has been happening at least once daily, and it's killing my productivity.
Have you figured out what was going on?
And, are you running any virtualization software, like Parallels?
Anyone out there know what's going on?  I'm pretty desperate here...
    Thanks so much!

My iphone 4 has become extremely sensitive i cant talk on the phone without putting calls on hold, mute or hanging up!! when i'm in a call it's like the screen has become super sensitive to touch! I tried putting on a screen protecter but this didnt work please help?

While on a call, the iPhone display should go black when lifted to your ear. Is this not happening or only happening intermittently?
Have you tried making calls without your silicone case on? Does this make any difference?
You could try updating or restoring the software to try to rule that out as a cause. If the issue remains after restoring then the issue is probably hardware related and may need to be serviced.

  • LCD becomes fuzzy after connects with T61p through VGA port

    Hello,
I have a Dell E207WFP LCD which is previously connected to a Dell desktop through VGA. Today I connect it to my T61p through VGA using the same cable. I am able to setup the resolution as native resolution which is 1680*1050 @ 60Hz. However, I found that the screen is obviously fuzzy than connect to the desktop. The font is not sharp. I tried to adjust the cleartype font in Win7 and the bright and contrast in the LCD but nothing helps. I connect it back to the desktop and it works fine... Both computers run Win7. Could you please let me know what could be the possible reason? Thank you very much!
My T61p uses FX 570m video card.

This is hard to judge without a picture. It could just be a low-quality VGA port which is not a defect but an attribute or a nature of many laptop VGA ports.
Remember that the VGA is an analog-type video connector and some sort of blurriness is to be expected, especially at higher resolutions, this is because the GPU processes the image digitally as well as the LCD, but the VGA is analog so the image has to go through 2 conversions.
In conclusion: VGA is great for use in projectors and other devices with resolution no higher than 1280x1024. Above this resolution, defects are likely to appear.
For higher resolutions I'd suggest purchasing the Advanced Mini Dock which features the digital DVI port.

  • Pressing ^[ causes screen to pause redrawing the terminal, annoyingly

I've come across an annoying behavior in GNU Screen. It's most prominent in vim: when I enter insert or command-line mode and press ^[ (escape), nothing happens for about .75 seconds, then the 'INSERT' indicator (or prompt) disappears. However, if I press a key during that interval, the change takes effect immediately. This annoyingness does not happen if I don't use screen.
It seems ^[ causes screen to pause before redrawing the terminal. I haven't found any documentation on it though. Anyone have a solution?
Clarification: This seems to happen with all command-line utilities in screen, not just vim.
Might this have something to do with the ESCDELAY environment variable (ncurses(3))?

  • Titles made in Premiere become fuzzy after rendering

Is there a setting or button to check in Premiere to prevent titles made in Premiere from loosing the clarity and shapeness they had to becoming fuzzy and out of focus after the video is rendered?

I'm a novice learning Premiere. I assumed the softwear would make the export setting the same as the settings used to make the video sequence. I checked the best quality boxes and in both the rendering and exporting windows, but  the text in the titles made with Premiere played back fuzzy.  However, all the images I used stayed sharp in playback after rendering and exporting, even text that was already in images I imported in to Premiere stayed sharp in playback after rendering and exporting. What are the best sequence and export settings to use to produce sharp clear titles made in Premiere?

  • Part of screen has become unresponsive

Suddenly part of my Iphone 4 screen has become unresponsive. In vertical screen mode, it's the bottom R.hand corner and selected other spots near the bottom of the screen, e.g. the back button, z,c,and m keys. It seems to be the same area of the screen when turned into horizontal mode, so that there it's e.g. the send button in mail. In the phone, pressing the back symbol brings up the # sign, just above it - so if I make a mistake hitting the phone keys, I can't undo it without powering down then re-powering up.
There are no scratches on the glass, and I have tried re-setting the phone. I have the latest Itunes and ios. Any ideas?
