Ios7 - Control Center landscape mode

I've been playing around with different features of ios7 and online I see that Control Center shold work in landscape mode. When I try it, it does not work (only in portrait mode). I've tried it on my 5s, my wife's 4s, and my iPad (3rd gen).
Is this a feature that was in the developer versions but didn't make it into general release? Not a big deal, but I'm curious.

I've tested it in Messages, Safari, Gmail. It works fine in all of them.
I don't think I did anything special to make it happen.

  • IOS7 Control Center Swipe Multiple Times

Having to swipe 'up' my IOS7 control center multiple times (5-10x common). Sometimes it will not come up at all. Is anyone esle having similiar issues?
I have rebooted the iPad which has helped but overall performance is the swiping i find annoying and often doesn't work.
Anyway to change settings to use the old IOS6 whereby you can double-click the home button and have contol center pop-up

Screen is clean. I will take off the protective cover....maybe it is covering the sensitive area.

  • Strongly recommended: ios7 control center switches to user-defined, we can add the cellular and 3G switch.

  • IOS7: control center audio?

iOS7: I had to download podcast app to now listen to podcasts. Control center doesn't seem to control podcast audio -- so, it's only for music?

Thought I had the same problem but since updating to ios 7 hadnt restarted phone. Since doing that it works fine
    Give it a try

  • Ios7 - control center hard to open

I have an iPod Touch 5 G updated to iOS7. Sometimes I can swipe up and the Control Center appears. At times I cant and I found I needed to use a stylus. Is there a trick to opening this or maybe I am swiping in the wrong area?

  • Volume control in landscape mode??

Hi! Brand new touch owner (read: noob!) here.
Is there a way to control volume in landscape/coverflow mode? Having to pick-up and rotate the touch to portrait mode every time I want to make a small volume adjustment is a minor pita.
    Thanks!

You can't - one of my pet peeves.

  • Music app in landscape mode unusable

Now that I have an iPhone 6+ I keep my phone in landscape mode on my dash mount in my car. As far as I can tell this renders my music control unusable. Two questions.
    1. is there a simple way to put the music player controls in landscape mode.
    2. if not, what is a good alternative landscape music player?

The Up arrow should bring up control center.   Like it does in portrait mode. its a basic function of any recent iPhone.
You should get something like this:
Its been available since iOS 7.
If its not working, try resetting your phone by pressing down the home and power/sleep buttons until the apple logo shows up.

  • Control center not working on iPhone 6 plus when in landscape mode

I has a iphone 5 before it , and there's no problem with the control center, now with this expensive iPhone 6 plus , the control is not working when the phone is in landscape mode , when the screen tapped repeatedly, I can only see the little tab of the control center but I can't able to bring it up.
    Anyone has this problem?

    Hello torontonightowl,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
For some initial troubleshooting on this issue where you're unable to open the control center on your iPhone, please first restart your iPhone, and if the issue persists then reset the iPhone.

  • Can't bring up control center on iPad 2 in portrait mode!

I just upgraded my iPad 2 WiFi to iOS 7.0.4 and noticed a strange bug:
No matter what I do, I can't bring up the control center when holding the iPad in portrait mode! But when in landscape, it'll come up with a swipe just fine!
More strange is that when I hold the iPad upside down (home button on top), the control center shows with swipe up!
Anyone has any clue what's going on or how to solve this??
P.S. There's also another bug that may be related to this: When held in portrait mode, I also can't swipe the notification center back up. It looks like it's stuck at the bottom. Only pressing the home button send it back up.

I would call this a quirk in your upgrade rather than a bug, but try this and see if it fixes it.
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider if it appears on the screen - let go of the buttons. Let the iPad start up.

  • Notification center on white iPhone 4s only present in "landscape" mode.

    Hello,
After purchasing a new white iPhone 4s, the notification center and tab, is not present or able to be swiped down when holding the telephone in portrait mode.
However when I rotate to landscape mode, the tab appears and I can acces the notification center. Has anyone found a fix for this? I have tried resetting, rebooting, and restoring the iphone.
    Thanks

  • Upward swipe is not registering in iOS7 to bring up control center

Hi there. Basically, I just recently installed iOS7 on my iPhone 4. So far everything has been working really well, except for the control center. This is not related to that other security bug. My problem is, swiping upward on the phone works less than half the time to bring up the control center. I generally have to make an upward swiping motion four or five times before the control center goes up. It's just, odd. Notification center and spotlight respond perfectly to my swipes. I've even held the phone upside to see if maybe swiping toward me was just easier for the phone to interpret. No dice. Three other people I know have this exact same problem, all of them with iPhone 4. Has anyone else had this problem or now how to fix it? I've tried turning my phone on and off, I've let it run down and then recharged it, still the problem persists.

I had this problem also. First thing I tried was to reset your device.
Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. That seemed to help.
But then I discovered that a light swipe starting just off the screen at the bottom worked well.
When I tapped and swiped on the screen I often did not get the Control Center to come up. But after practicing some with a swipe beginning just off the bottom of the screen I get the Control Center to come up every time.

  • HT1947 Remote Apps cannot display in landscape mode in iOS7

My ipad 4 cannot display the Remote App in landscape mode after upgraded to iOS7, also the response is very slow when choosing album, songs or Artist

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via the taskbar : double-click the home button; slide from the left; and it's the icon far left; press home again to exit the taskbar. The function that isn't on the side switch is set via the taskbar instead : http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4085
If there isn't a lock symbol then try a soft-reset (is that what you mean by restarting ?) : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • IOS7 iPad view is loaded in landscape mode instead of portrait mode

On iOS7, i have a viewController added as a subview to the root view controller like so:
    [self.view insertSubview:self.tutorialViewController.view aboveSubview:self.accessoriesView];
What happens is in viewDidLoad and in viewDidAppear, it loads with landscape mode dimensions, instead of portrait.
This also happens on iOS6 and bellow, but somehow it gets resized so this is not an issue. It seems that self.view.frame is not always reliable: http://bynomial.com/blog/?p=85
What could be the cause of this and how can i fix it?
