Ios7 Email - have Apple changed 'Fetch' frequency ?

Hi all,
I recently upgraded to Ios7 like many, and seem to be having some issues I could do with some help please.....
I've had my 4S since early last year, and coming from a Blackberry, I was a little concerned about the Email capability of an iPhone v Blackberry,
but in all honesty, its been fantastic.  My emails arrived at my Phone very quickly, and all has been good.
However, since the update to Ios7, some issues and perhaps some can help pls ?
1.  Battery Life  :  I never got more than a Full Working Day, and usually had to put my phone on charge at say 8/9pm.
However, since Ios7, I've frequently run out of charge before 5.30pm......
Orange here in UK suggested a Reset all Settings, which I have done, so we'll see how that improves it, but there is an issue with Ios7 & Battery Life ????
2. Once I upgraded, my emails seemed to work as they always had, but then 2 days ago, I realised that my emails hadnt arrived for a few hours, snd once I
opened Mail again, down came 12 emails in one go.
Suddenly my email was'nt 'Pushed' anymore, & the Push option under my Email address wasnt given on the phone.....
I have spoken to Applecare, and they insist that this is only set by your email providor, - who in turn say that they dont offer a 'Push' facility.
- I can only think that as the mails arrived on my Phone very quickly, that it was perhaps set to 'Fetch' for every 2/3 minutes or similar ?
Which begs the Question - has Apple perhaps changed the Fetch settings to a minimum of 'Every 15mins' to assist in the Battery Life problems currently being experienced by many ??
Does anyone else have email issues or changes since Ios7 ???
Thx

Thx for your quick responses, I do appreciate it.
"The retreival log also includes manual checks'
- I could understand that, but I never usually did that, I never had to, my emails always arrived very quickly.
"If you set your phone for 15 minute fetching, and it's not doing so, you need to troubleshoot the phone - restart, reset, restore."
It is - now. And I have done countless restart Reset & Restore's - I've even reset the phone as New, and re-installed Backup etc, - which has now lost all of my Apps - very helpful too.

  • I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used      to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5s.  I have an iphone 4.  It's asking me to sign in to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I know if this email is genuine?

I've just received an email from 'Apple' saying that my apple id was used to sign into iCloud on an iphone 5S.  I have an iphone 4.  It then asks that I 'click here' to confirm my details and change my password.  How do I tell if the email is genuine?

Apple will not ask you to click a link in an email. They may tell you to log in to your account to reset your password. Go to https://appleid.apple.com and log in if you ever want to change any information in your profile (or your password). And do not click the link I just posted; instead enter it into a browser.
You can verify the devices assigned to your account by going to https://icloud.com/find (again, don't click it), where you can see a list of devices registered to your Apple ID.
As a general rule, you should never click a link in an email or forum post without verifying it first. You can see where it goes without clicking it in most email programs and browsers by hovering your mouse pointer over it. On an iPhone you can check where it goes by holding your finger on the link (rather than just tapping it).

  • I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. my iPad recognisIes the change of id but on my MacBook Air, iCloud just keeps asking me for a password for the old email address/account. How can I get iCloud to recognise the new details? Help please!

I have had to change my email address/Apple ID. My iPad recognises the new detail in iTunes and iCloud but when I go into iCloud through my MacBook Air, it requests a password for the old email account which I can no longer use. There is no Option to be able to change this email/ID detail as I cannot get further than the password request. Can anyone help please - this is driving me insane?!

Go to System Preferences and click Sign Out, select Delete at all the prompts, then sign back in with the changed ID?   (Your iCloud data will disappear from your Mac when you sign out and choose Delete, but will still be in iCloud.  Provided you are signing back into the same account your data will reappear on your Mac when you sign back in.)

  • ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple

ATTENTION!! RECEIVED FRAUDULENT EMAIL PRETENDING TO BE APPLE!! I received an email informing of a purchase made on my account and telling me to change my password if did not purchase the item, which I had not. I have received valid emails from Apple in the past asking letting me know a purchase had been made and asking if I had made the purchase, but the item listed has alway been a purchase that I had made. Since I had received similar emails in the past, I didn't think anything of it. Because I had not purchased the item listed, I immediately clicked on the link in order to change my password, which has been suggested in authentic emails i had received from Apple in the past. The site I was redirected to was exactly the same as the Apple site where you go to change your password. I entered my userID and password and it stated a verification email would be sent, if it was not sent click "resend email." When I did not receive an email, after about 10 seconds I went to the Apple site and followed the SAME EXACT step on pages that were IDENTICAL to the FRAUDULENT website I apparently had just been at. When I clicked "Send verification email," I DID receive an email within seconds, which had a special link that brought me to a page where I could change my password, which I did. I later compared a legitimate email to the FRAUDULENT email and I DID FIND A DIFFERENCE, BUT IT WAS ALMOST UNNOTICEABLE unless you were really, really looking.  I doubt it would be noticed by anyone if not comparing it closely to a real email. THE DIFFERENCE WAS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE AUTHENTIC EMAIL, THERE WERE THREE LINKS THAT COULD BE SELECTED - My Apple ID/Support/Privacy Policy. ON THE FRAUDULENT EMAIL THESE LINKS WERE NOT PRESENT!!! Just today I received an email from Apple stating my password had been changed today. I did not change my password today. When I changed after getting the fake email, I did not think about my SECURITY QUESTIONS!!! If you forget your Apple password, you are able to answer the security questions in place of your ID and you get a confirmation email. Even though I changed my password within a one minute when I did not get a confirmation email with a link to change my password right away and I went dierctly to Apple's site, apparently it was enough time to take all the information on my account - INCLUDING MY DEBIT CARD NUMBER, WHICH HAD BEEN REQUIRED WHEN I INITIALLY SET UP THE ACCOUNT!!! Today I received a call from VISA FRAUD PROTECTION asking about strange activity on my account and stating they were concerned and wanted to ensure I had used the account. I HAD NOT, AND ALL THE MONEY IN MY BANK ACCOUNT HAD BEEN STOLEN!!!!! I am writing this in hopes that many people will see it and NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM. Please pay close attention to any emails you supposedly receive from Apple - If the links "MY APPLE ID/SUPPORT/PRIVACY POLICY," PLEASE DO NOT ASSUME IT IS AN AUTHENTIC EMAIL FROM APPLE. I suggest you immediately forward the email to apple, which I didn't do because this happened days ago. Nothing was taken from my money that was already on the Apple account, and nothing had been taken from my checking account. I guess I assumed there had been something wrong with the link in the email directing me to where I could change my password, plus I had gone to the valid Apple website and changed my password for real, and I guess I was thinking that changing my password would prevent someone from being able to acces my account info. PLEASE DO NOT FALL VICTIM TO THIS SCAM AS I DID!!!!

No need for alarm. There are several folks a day posting like threads. Most folks know these phishing attempts for what they are and merely delete with prejudice.
To the bottom line... if you wish - and I am sure Apple will take notice - you should FORWARD the email to [email protected] and delete.

  • HT4098 I have a subscription to The Telegraph which I purchased before changing my email and apple ID.  How can I get iTunes to transfer this purchase and put it under my new apple ID?

have a subscription to The Telegraph which I purchased before changing my email and apple ID.  How can I get iTunes to change it to current ID

Did you create a NEW Apple ID or did you change the email address for your OLD Apple ID? This will affect how you update apps in the future.
Anyway, go to Settings/iTunes&App Stores, log out, then log in with the new ID.

  • I found an old Apple id on a computer I use infreqently with an old Ipod.  I have the the Applie ID, but I do not have the password.  In addition,my email account has changed since I created this Applie ID. How can I get reset info to new email address?

I found an old Applie ID on a computer I use infreqently with an old IPod.  I do not have the password for this AppleID.  When I use the procedure to reset the password, I cannot receive the email as my email address has changed from the original used with the Apple ID.  How can I get the reset information sent to my current email addres so I can establish a new passwod for this Applie ID?

FR Tecmobility is wrong, sure he means well but what he suggests will not work - signing out of iTunes Store and back in will have no effect on iCloud. Try the steps at iOS 7: If you're asked for the password to your previous Apple ID when signing out of iCloud
You may need to contact apple tech support if none of the password change methods work for you. Ask for Account Security. They will need to verify identity, to ensure you are who you claim to be. If that goes well, they can send a password rest e-mail to any e-mail you desigate, so make sure it is one you can access.  Then reset the password. Then you can delete the iCloud account (needs the password to turn off find My Phone/Activation lock)
keep data on phone, then sign in with your desired apple ID. Good luck. hope you get this sorted out.

  • I changed my apple ID password and now facetime cannot verify my e-mail address.  I have tried changing my password back but still recieve the same pop up window telling me that the email could not be verified and to check my network but have wifi working

Please help.  I changed my apple id password and now cannot use facetime and my icloud continues to prompt me for my password and I continue to give it but, I repeatedly am prompted for the password unless I cancel the icloud.  I have tried changing my password back to the password I had before and this did not work.  I have tried to use another e-mail address for facetime and had verified that e-mail address and this did not work.  I do not know how to fix this problem.  I have thought about changing my apple id but am not sure how I would be able to carry over the same credit card number to the new apple ID.  I loved my Mac book Pro because I could facetime my boyfriend while I am working away and now I cannot.  I am starting to hate Mac.

The idea to jumpstart by change was not the smartest one, but gives you an opportunity to use that "temporary" account as permanent. You do not have a choice cause obviously despite you thinking that old account is no more -it does exist on Apple servers. And if you are unwilling to share your [email protected] with friend, just create one extra [email protected] for your friend. One suggestion - do not use gmail.

You have to change it using iTunes on your computer, as explained here: Change or remove your payment information from your iTunes Store account (Apple ID) - Apple Support.  (This article: iCloud: View or change your iCloud payment information no longer works with iOS 8 or Yosemite.)

On your Mac, try to access your gmail account. There should be a link you click for "Forgot My Password". Click it and try to retrieve your password.

  • HT1296 My email address has changed. I have successfully amended it on my computer in Apple iTunes but my iphone 4s and my iPad still show the old email address when requesting the password and will not let me update Apps. Please can anyone advise me what

My email provider has changed and I have a new one.
I amended this on my computer under my Apple iTunes account without any difficulty and it was authenticated. However, I still have the original email appearing on my iphone 4s and ipad2 and I cannot update that information. Neither can I use my usual password to update my Apps.  Please can anyone assist me with simple instructions on how to change these important passwords?  Thankyou in anticipation for reading and hopefully considering a solution.

Thank you, this has resolved both the iphone and ipad problem immediately.  I am concerned that I may have a problem with apps that I bought under my old  AppleID as they will not be recognised.  Any suggestions for this please?

I have changed my email address and changed my Apple ID. However iCloud on my ipad and an ipad mini still shows my old email address. How can I change my iCloud email address?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your iOS device, you need to delete the account from your iOS device first, then add it back using your updated details. (Settings > iCloud, scroll down and hit "Delete Account")
Providing you are simply updating your existing details and not changing to another account, when you delete your account, all the data that is synced with iCloud will also be deleted from the device (but not from iCloud), but will be synced back to your device when you login again.
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iCloud account on your computer, you need to sign out of the account from your computer first, then sign back in using your updated details. (System Preferences > iCloud, click the sign out button)
In order to change your Apple ID or password for your iTunes account on your iOS device, you need to sign out from your iOS device first, then sign back in using your updated details. (Settings > iTunes & App store, scroll down and tap your ID)
If you are using iMessages or FaceTime, you will also need to log out and into your ID there too.

  • I have just been sent an email to say that my apple id has been used to download ibooks.  I have now changed my passport but want to know if I will be charged as I did not download this ?

I have been sent an email to say that my apple id has been used to download ibooks.  I have now changed my password as I have not downloaded ibooks.  I would like to know if I am going to be charged ?

Was it a genuine email from Apple or a phishing attempt to try and get your account and payment details ? Whether you will be charged will depend if anything was downloaded on your account, and whether or not it was a free item - we are fellow users here on these forums, we won't know if anything has been bought on your account.
The iBooks app is free app, but if you haven't already done so then check to see if anything shows on your account's purchase history : See your purchase history in the iTunes Store.
If a purchase shows there and you didn't make it, and nobody else has access to your account or devices and made it, then try the 'report a problem' page to contact iTunes Support : http://reportaproblem.apple.com
If the 'report a problem' link doesn't work then you can try contacting iTunes Support via this page : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

I don't believe Apple lets you delete old accounts. They also will not let you merge them.
