IOS7 huge bug. Deleted photos re-appearing!
Ok I don't know if this happned to anyone else or just me. That I recently copyed some PNG tye image files to my iPhone 5c and then I discovered my old deleted photos re-appeared. As you know that PNG files' background is transparent so the old deleted files would be underneath the new PNG files and showing directly to the user. I am surprised to have found my old "not so pretty" pictures re-appearing. I know this is a bug and just wondering if Apple is working on a fix? For now, if someone can have a temparary fix or workaround would be appreciated.
Update: I have just found out that If I delete the "mixed pictures" and re-adding new PNG files to my iPhone, the "mixed pictures" will be stacked beneath the new PNG file again I think this has to be something to do with the software itself.
I just noticed this myself today. Just as you describe. I am using iOS 7 ver. 7.0.2. I see this as a security/privacy issue as it shows that photos that the act of deleting photos, just removes them from the Photos app, but does not actually delete the image data from the device. Who else can recover these deleted images?

I updated to iOS7 and my deleted photos came back. How do I make sure this doesn't happen again? I want to get rid of the ones I already got rid of, but if they just keep coming back that will be a waste of time.
Can anyone help?
When I sync with itunes, the photos sections says I am syncing with my iphone, so I assume that anything I physically delete from my iphone should not be showing up again. Right?
Thanks in advance.
CM
PS- I don't use iphoto. Is that really how sync works?
If you read this, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236 and this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314 they don't actually make how sync works very clear. I had thought that syncing my device to itunes would allow I tunes to copy what was currently on my phone so that I could restore that information when needed ie if your phone dies and you need to do a clean install of the iOS system, you always have what is currently on your phone saved in Itunes.
Specifically reading this:
To delete Camera Roll photos and videos from your device
There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer and choose to delete items after import.
Delete photos and videos from your device manually:
Open the Photos application and open the Camera Roll.
Tap the Action button.
Tap each photo to select it.
Tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
What you seem to be saying is that iTunes saves every contact, message, photo etc and when you click sync, it reuploads things that you deleted? This seems like it should work the opposite. Make a mirror image of my iPhone on my computer, not make a mirror image of my computer onto my iPhone. You delete things for a reason.
Help- anyone else? Is razmee209 right? -
How to delete photos that appear twice in my iPhone 4 ?
I want to delete all the double of some photos that appear suddenly in my iphone. I would like to, but it's impossible to delete them because there's not the little image to click on it to delete the photos that I want to delete !
I also wanna know what do i need to do to make it never happen again (photos that appear twice).
There are 3 albums in my iPhone that all the photos in the albums cannot be deleted, again because oh the little image to click on it to delete photos that isn't there.
(sorry for my english I'm french and I'm not bilingual )These are photos that were transferred from your computer via the iTunes sync process - selected under the Photos tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.
All photos transferred from your computer via the Tunes sync process are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library. If you transfer one or several photo albums or folders of photos to your iPhone, all photos in the albums or folders of photos are stored in the iPhone's Photo Library. The photos in the albums or folders below Photo Library are not duplicated as in taking double the storage space. The photos in the albums or folders of photos below Photo Library include a pointer only to the original photos stored in the Photo Library. This way you can view the photos in a an album or folder of photos only by selecting the album or folder of photos, or you can view all photos transferred from your computer in all albums or folders of photos by selecting Photo Library. -
Hi
I have a number of photos that originally went into my photo stream when they were taken. I deleted them out of the photostream and out of the months photostream event in iPhoto, but they are still showing up under that months photo stream event on the iPad and iPhone - even after I completely erased all photos on the iPad and iPhone.
Any assistance in solving how to get rid of these photos for good is greatly appreciated.
ThanksFor deleting from the Photo Stream see this support article:
iCloud: How to delete photos from Photo Stream
but they are still showing up under that months photo stream event on the iPad and iPhone - even after I completely erased all photos on the iPad and iPhone.
Have you synced your events to your iPad and iPhone using iTunes Photo Sync? Erasing the camera roll will not get rid of synced photos. Then the only way to erase monthly Photo Stream events synced to your devices is syncing again, with these events deselected. See: iTunes: Syncing photos, the paragraph To delete synced photos and videos from your device

IOS7 Mail bug - saving photos.
So I just updated to stupid iOS7, which so far am unimpressed, mainly because I didn't want iTunes 11 and now am forced to update. However, I am constantly being mailed photos and have never had issues saving multiple photos before. Anyway, went to save multiple images this morning and first off i thought they had changed the way you save (holding down on image and hitting save), because it took multiple seconds for the pop up to come up (first world problems). Anyway, it finally popped up, however went to save multiple images and nothing saved. not a single photo. i restarted my phone thinking perhaps that was the issue. nada. then went and saved a single photo and low and behold it worked. obviously i don't want to have to wait multiple seconds for the pop up to show up, plus having to save 40 photos at that rate is absurd. i doubt anyone can help me out, but wondering if anyone has had the same issue? also, is there a place to report bugs? So frustrating!!!
Just counted took 15 seconds for the pop up to come up.

I am fairly new to lightroom and have always been able to right click on an image and I would get the option to "delete photo" (Windows). My daughter was playing around with the program and now when I right click, there is no option to delete. That happened while still in version 1.0 and did not correct when I upgraded to 1.1 . I assume there is some easy thing I need to do to get the "delete" back but I sure can't find what it is.
What do you mean by folder view? I used to be able to right click in the Library module on the thumbnail or on the film strip and also in the Develop module by right clicking the image. In both instances, delete photo would appear and I could remove the image from the files.

Is it possible to delete photos on an iPhone?
Really easy to do on Android and Windows Phone but looks like it's not possible to delete photos on an iPhone except individually. You could do this on the original iPhone...
I've tried on the device, using a Mac and Windows but the file system is read only.
Thousands of articles on web and here and none explain how to do this simple task on ios7.You can delete photos in the Camera Roll on your iPhone either individually on the phone or all at once by connecting to your computer.
To do this connect your phone to your computer and run whatever image capture application or camera app you have. You iPhone should be recognized as a camera and the app will allow you to copy photos to your computer and delete them from the iPhone.
To delete photos that were copied to the iPhone by syncing with your computer do another sync. But before clicking on Sync or Apply deselect all the albums you want to delete. When you click on .apply or sync the albums will be deleted. -

How do I delete photos and photo albums from my iPhone 4? The instructions given do not work. No "delete" symbol appears next to the album name when I press "Edit," and no trash can icon for me to click appears below most of the individual photos in the albums the computer just loaded on my new iPhone 4. When I synced the new phone the computer added these photo albums without permission from me. They are now taking up about 3 GB of memory on my phone. I would like very much to get rid of these photos from the phone. How do I do this?
To delete photos from your device
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply. -
a phantom folder with the name of a folder that held photos has appeared in my finders>places list. I can't choose it to delete it. it won't move. It can't be found in a search. How can I choose it and delete it?
Can you drag it off holding down the CMD key?
Do a search for it with EasyFind (try different settings in "Operator")

Deleted photo's thumbnails appear in N97's capture...
Hi guys.
As the title said, deleted photo's thumbnails appear in my N97's capture gallery. I capture an image or two and when I go to my Photos > Captured I see tumbnails of images I deleted a long time ago. When I open a file I still see an image that was deleted ower a year ago.
Only when I click "edit" do I see the recently captured image that I should have seen in the first place.
I tried everything. Restore factory settings, delete everything the phone lets me in explorer... still the problem persists. Any ideas on how to fix this?Hi dtbsz,
We're sorry to hear you have been having trouble with this, but here are a few ways to thoroughly get to the bottom of your issue. I'm assuming you're using the defult photo app.
Firstly, connect your N97 using Mass Storage mode. If you have Windows, open up the drive associated with the N97 under My Computer. Before going anywhere, make sure you have your Windows Explorer set to show hidden files as well. Go to Tools > Folder Options > View. Somewhere in there you'll see a branch called "Hidden files and folders". Select "Show hidden files and folders". Hit Apply and Ok.
Now, you'll see in your mass storage drive a folder called "Private". Open Private > 101ffc31. Then delete glxmdstn. Unplug your phone, and re-open your Photos app.
If this does not solve the issue, try the following too:
1) Do a full backup, with user data.
2) Do another full backup, but without user data.
3) Reformat the phone.
4) Restore the data from the full backup with user data.
5) If the problem persists, reformat the phone again.
6) This time, restore the data without user data.
Ensure you have the critical data backed up separately too, instead of relying on NBU.
Report back and let us know about your progress.
Regards,
haZey

Where can I get clear instructions to clean up a mess that Ios7 has made of my data and info on my iPad. I can't delete photos, apps are missing, it's crazy and so frustrating. I have spent hours on this.
How did the photos get onto your iPad ? If they were synced from a computer then they can't be deleted directly in the iPad's Photos app - instead they are deleted by not including them in your next photo sync from your computer's iTunes.
For your apps, as long as they are still in your country's store then you should be able to redownload them via the Purchased tab in the App Store app on your iPad, and via the Purchased link under Quicklinks on the right-hand side of the iTunes store home page on your computer's iTunes. If you had backed up to your computer's iTunes before starting the update then you could redownload them to your computer's iTunes and then retry restoring to your backup and see if that copies the apps and their content back (the actual apps aren't included in a backup, just their content/settings, so for a restore to work fully you need to have the relevant apps in the Apps part of your library). -
I want to delete photos from my iPad . But the help page does not help. When I click devices a photo pop up option does not appear
The instructions in HT4236 are as follows:
To delete synced photos and videos
In iTunes, select the device icon in the Devices list on the left. Click the Photos tab in the resulting window.
Choose "Sync photos from."
On a Mac, choose iPhoto or Aperture from the pop-up menu.
On a Windows PC, choose Photoshop Album or Photoshop Elements from the pop-up menu.
Choose "Selected albums" and deselect the albums or collections you want to delete.
Click Apply.
No where does it say anything about a "photo pop up option". When you click on your device icon a panel with many tabs appears. One of these tabs is "Photos". You are supposed to click on the "Photos" tab. -
How do i delete photos from my iPhone 4S with ios7?
How do i delete photos from my iPhone 4S with ios7?
I have seen an solution:
1. When in the iOS 7 Photo app you tap Photo button in the bottom toolbar.
2. Then you tap Select in the top right Navbar
3. Then find a photo which is NOT in the Photo-stream and NOT in the Camera Roll. I have a bunch of these for some reason after updating to iOS 7. These photos will get a checkmark, but will not turn the trash can blue.
4. You can then select a photo that IS IN Photo-stream. It will also get a checkmark and the counter will display (2), and the trash can will turn Blue.
5. You can then tap the blue trash can. The Photo-stream selected photo gets deleted BUT the photo the selected photo that is NOT in Photo-stream and NOT in camera roll IS Still There!

What is your iPhoto version on your iPad?
Photos in the Camera roll can be deleted, when browsing them and tapping "Delete".
In iPhoto 2.0 you would delete photos like this: iPhoto Help (iPad): Delete photos
Delete photos
Depending on how your photos and video clips were added to iPhoto, do one of the following:
Photos and video clips taken with your device: In iPhoto, tap Albums, tap Camera Roll, tap to select the photos, tap , tap Delete Photo, and tap Delete. The photos are deleted from both iPhoto and your device.
Photos and video clips you synced to your computer using iTunes: Connect your device to your computer and, in iTunes, deselect the photos and video clips you want to remove from your device. Click Apply.
Photos in the Beamed, Photo Box, iTunes, or [App] album: Tap a photo, tap (tap Edit if you don’t see the tool), tap Delete Photo, and tap Delete.
