IOS7 lost functionality with Ford Fiesta?

So here is the deal. My friend has a Ford Fiesta 2011. Everything was fine with her iPhone 4s when it had iOS6, however as soon as she updated to iOS7 the track selection no longers works on her steering wheel, and only works when changed from the phone itself. Any ideas how to make the phone work in full function with the car again?

I know that you have solved your problem but I found after I updated to iOS7 that my remote controls for my iPhone in my car would not work. Once I updated to iOS7.0.2, the remote controls started to work again.
I would recommend that people update to 7.0.2 if they have lost external control of their phones in their cars or other remote devices.

I have the same problem.
After upgrade from my Mac Pro to Mac OS X Lion yesterday, the same problem happened described by danhalli.
No connection to the printer over 2101nw. The MAC gets all information if an other computer makes a connection to the print server, so the communication works, however connection cannot be established.
There was no way to fix it. complete new installation from Printer Software or wireless HP Print Server did not help.
Important: all other computer in the network are working fine with the connection manager (MAC and Microsoft PC´s)
All MAC computer are working fine with the SW 10.6.8 . The SW 10.7.2 does not work I hope it will be fixed soon. If you can not print, it takes a lot of time !!!!

Nokia 5800 with Ford fiesta

I have just got a new fiesta with bluetooth and recently got a nokia 5800.
I tried to set the phone up so that i could have it handsfree in my car, they paired fine and i can dial through my car but once i try to call someone it doesn't come through the car speakers it stays as a handset call.
The phone shows the bluetooth connection with a car symbol in the corner.
I have tried the car with a different phone and it worked first time so it is definately my phone.
The ford site says that the 5800 is compatable so why wont it work??

RM-428 is the North American version. They use different frequency bands over there so your 5800 will not work on 3g in Europe and most of the rest of the world. It should however work in GSM mode.

My Magic Trackpad lost functionality with my iMac (Lion)

I have been using a Magic Trackpad with my iMac (Lion 10.7.5) for over a year. This morning I find that I've lost several functions, including the double-tap + drag to select text, and now the three-finger swipe registers the same as the two-finger swipe. I know the problem is the iMac and not the trackpad itself; I tried unpairing the trackpad with the iMac and pairing it with a Mini (same OS), and all of the functions are working when paired with the Mini.
Having looked for others with similar issues, I've tried the steps of zapping the PRAM, deselecting/selecting the trackpad preferences, and looking for plist preference files that look like they are trackpad related (but didn't recognize any--am I looking in the wrong place?).
FWIW I was having problems with Time Machine just a week or two ago and performed a system software reinstall from Recovery Mode, which fixed the Time Machine issues. But I believe the trackpad was working fine until this morning--at least the click-and-drag selection b/c I use that function daily.

Okay, so I think I've figured out most of this. Many thanks to jefflogullo, whose post I found my answer on. Resetting everything on Universal Access solved most of my issues with double-tapping. Why on earth did they move it out of trackpad settings?

Iphone4s with Ford Fiesta's aux in = sound distortion

The technician suggested that 1) I use airplane mode to cut off the distortion but I habe to lost communication on the phone
Or 2) I can turn the sound on Iphone up to maximum to drown out the distortion (but still not 100% clear sound).
Any practical idea that I can both listen to the music by applying aux-in and not missing any calls on Iphone with clear crystal sound just like the Iphone 4 can offer.
( My former Iphone4 didn't make any distortion at all)
P.S. my car doesn't have built-in bluetooth or USB port.

Are you using the headphone out socket on your iPhone with a lead that has a 3.5mm jack at either end?
If so, try using an alternative lead that has an Apple connector at one end and a 3.5mm jack at the other. This way you get a non amplified output from the iPhone which is much "cleaner".

Did you try sending a photo from the photo app? The same exact thing happened to me, I clicked a couiple times on the bottom button (for changing screens) and I got all my other apps working, except the email app - doesn't work at all & I can't even get into the mail category in the settings app.

With the new website I can no longer control my indoor pan/tilt/zoom camera. Why?

The ability to control your indoor camera has not been impacted by the web application update. Here are a couple things to try:
Clear browser cache/temporary internet files
Try another browser.
If using Internet Explorer try Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome. Oftentimes older versions of Internet Explorer can cause unwanted problems.

My keyboard (wired) has lost functionality on the music PLAY/PAUSE, FORWARD and BACK, and VOLUME KEYS. They do NOTHING. All else is fine. How can I reassign them correctly? (Don't see those functions listed with System Settings/Keybard shortcuts).

Try doing a SMC and PRAM resets. Sometimes it takes 2-3 attempts for them to work so be a little persistent if they fail the first time.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.

Does the iphone 4 work with Ford SYNC? I recently lost all my contacts and think it had something to do with SYNC. Any suggestions?

The complaints I've heard most are due to the fact that the iPhone will not let you use the sync system to read and compose text messages, etc. I vaguely recall somthing about address books not syncing properly, but I've never heard of the sync system wiping the address book on the phone. It shouldn't be possible as the iPhone only supports PBAP for contact syncing, which is one way.
In any event, if the contacts were not synced to something and have been lost, there is no way to recover them, no matter what it was that wiped them.

Ford Fiesta USB iPad 2 connectivity

Is there a difference the iPod app in the iPad 2 and an actual iPod? I have just picked up a new Ford Fiesta this afternoon which has a USB port that supports iPods. If I plug the iPad 2 in, having started music playing in the iPod app and switch the Sony CD player to AUX no sound is played and the iPad screen locks saying "device attached". I'm using the genuine Apple cable so that is not the problem. While I can use the AUX jack input to play ,usic from the iPad successfully I'd prefer the USB port as I would then voice control over tracks and volume.
Any assistance appreciated.

I too have a Fiesta 59 plate titanium. Have used the 'correct' ford Y cable carried over from my previous Focus Cabriolet.
No problems with this cable using my itouch 3th generation, functions perfectly through the controls on the audio unit and steering wheel controls.
Have just purchased an iphone 4 to replace nokia 5800; which worked well in the fiesta.
Paired up easily on BTooth, but problem with uploading directory (contacts) to the audio unit.
Using the cable, I get the message that the audio unit is not fully optimised for iphone 4 and some interference may occur, plays ok same as itouch.
Now there is an update for the bluetooth available from ford. By the way later titaniums have a newer model sony audio unit. This update can be applied and should be free of charge at next service, (check still in warranty), or done at anytime.
I have spoken to my local garage, where i have bought several cars, and the master technician tells me he has the update on a usb stick, call in and he will sort it.
Will report back next week what, if any difference it makes.
The same technician tells me that the Y cables can be sourced off ebay in 3.5 mtr length for under a fiver, he has one and its works fine.

Sidebar missing from iCal in Lion - seeking a third party product to restore lost functionality

Apple has removed the sidebar, the always-on list of calendars that required no click.
The shallow popover that appears only when clicked — obscuring part of the calendar before disappearing — is to me (and some others) an unacceptable substitute for working with multiple calendars, especially where calendars are grouped across multiple servers.
I'm aware of third party alternatives to iCal. (Most full-featured calendar interfaces do have an always-on full-height list of calendars. Probably the best known alternative to iCal is BusyCal.)
This topic does not seek alternatives; I do wish to continue using iCal, albeit in a way that is less frustrating than what Apple forces upon users of 10.7.
This topic seeks:
a third party product that will restore lost functionality to iCal.
To any developer who reads this topic: please, I beg you, on my knees, submit your iCal sidebar app — or whatever you wish to call it — to the App Store as soon as you can. I'll gladly pay, and more than gladly help to test any pre-Store development version.
Other readers please note: whilst I'm extraordinarily frustrated by Apple's design decision, this is not an invitation to rant. Let's gain something constructive from this discussion.
If you wish Apple to restore the sidebar to iCal, as an option, then please:
submit iCal feedback to Apple, with your use case; explain why for you personally the limited disappearing popover is a poor substitute; explain how the sidebar will improve both (a) your productivity and (b) your appreciation of Apple's software.
Side note: no category includes iCal, so I file this opening post under Using Mac OS X v10.7 Lion.

I would like to say, "give it time — the more you use it, the more it will be appreciated" but for me this is not true. For some weeks I tried to work with this build of iCal and the more I used it, the greater the frustration. I grew to avoid iCal.
In most ways the feature set of iCal is unequalled. Support for many standards is excellent. The removal of the sidebar is a blight on this brilliance.
I plead with Apple or a third party developer to fix this at the earliest opportunity. I want Apple iCal — but user-friendly, not crippled.

HP Photosmart 8150 or 8050 fully functional with Windows 7?

I just purchased a used 8150 Photosmart printer due to failure of feeder mechanism on another older Photosmart printer. Lost my PC, monitor and scanner to a lightning strike the following day. A computer technician tells me my 8150 can't print photos at all from my new PC with Windows 7 as I can no longer download the necessary Photosmart Essential software from HP. Is this correct or is it still fully functional?
On the other hand, would it be easier to buy a newer Photosmart printer? Is an 8050 Photosmart fully functional with Windows 7? It looks to have a driver download and so forth, but I want to make sure before I go out and buy yet another printer that isn't fully functional. I loved the Photosmart Essential software that came with the 8150 and 8050, and would like to continue printing photos using similar software.

It's correct in one way: Photosmart Essential software has been replaced with a new software called HP Proto creations. You can download from the following link:

And Yes, no more driver support for the old 8150 from the Vista ages or at least 5 years now. Buying new printer would be the way to go if you wish to get better photo prints otherwise just waisting inks (very expensive) and papers.

HP 2600n Not Printing Correctly and Lost Functions

The 2600n has lost the following functions with the HP/Apple update based on my normal use. Note that all of these were functioning prior to update.
1. Double sided printing not selectable; no double sided printing available
2. Cannot print 2 pages on a single sheet in draft; result is a print that is unreadable
In addition to the above the menu for the print has been rearranged in a way that makes it less easy to use. For example there is now an extra step to select draft (600DPI).
+How do I get rid of the download and install of this update and revert back to the old version which worked+ (for me and others it now appears).

Thank you to those who replied. I fixed this problem by deleting all the downloaded software and other software related material from the HD. I removed everything. I then proceeded to treat this as a new printer and used the HP site to download relevant software and driver for the 10.5 version. Contrary to popular opinion this printer will work on 10.6 - 10.6.3 using the 10.5 driver and software.
I did note that when setting up the printer in system preferences I had to select the previous version of the driver for HP. The update was still on the HD despite my (I think) thorough removal of all items HP (except scanner).
The printer is now functioning as before. I have complained to HP in two different formats who still say the printer is not supported by 10.6 despite it being clearly listed to the contrary. I also told them the new menu window was terrible. To no avail I'm sure but at least I informed them. As should others if they are having any problems.
