IOS7 Mail bug - saving photos.

So I just updated to stupid iOS7, which so far am unimpressed, mainly because I didn't want iTunes 11 and now am forced to update. However, I am constantly being mailed photos and have never had issues saving multiple photos before. Anyway, went to save multiple images this morning and first off i thought they had changed the way you save (holding down on image and hitting save), because it took multiple seconds for the pop up to come up (first world problems). Anyway, it finally popped up, however went to save multiple images and nothing saved. not a single photo. i restarted my phone thinking perhaps that was the issue. nada. then went and saved a single photo and low and behold it worked. obviously i don't want to have to wait multiple seconds for the pop up to show up, plus having to save 40 photos at that rate is absurd. i doubt anyone can help me out, but wondering if anyone has had the same issue? also, is there a place to report bugs? So frustrating!!!

Just counted took 15 seconds for the pop up to come up.

  • IPod Touch 2.0 bug saving photos from e-mails

    Hi all
Has anyone else had problems saving photo attachments in e-mails on the Touch with 2.0 software. I received an e-mail with 5 jpeg photo attachments. Opened them up to view them, decided to save them.
When I selected "Save 5 images" the Touch appeared to freeze for a bit (though it may have been converting the jpegs to thumbnail format I guess?) and then when I went to Photo to look at them, the app wouldn't open. It started, displayed a blank Event list and then bombed out back to the help screen...
Rebooting the Touch and saving them individually allowed me to save 4 of the 5 - but oddly the 5th image, although not in the event and viewable IS the image used to tag the event.
    Quite odd.
Has anyone else been able to save photos reliably from e-mails into their photo library on their Touch 2.0?

    Hi,
I had this multiple times. Two times I was able to fix this in "just" remove MobileMe and the Exchange account. But this time the problem continues to exist. I've worked around this in using IMAP for E-Mail and Exchange for Contacts/Appointments. However since we're using PostPath instead of "real" Exchange contacts won't sync anyway.
Since I don't want to restore my whole iPod once a day I will stay with the IMAP workaround and hope that this will be fixed in 2.0.1

  • Saved photos from e-mail to desktop. Now can't get them off.

I saved photos from an e-mail to my desktop as well as I-photos. Now I can't get them off the desktop. How can i do that?

    Hello Sungal15,
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
To remove items from your computer, all you need to do is simply click and drag them to the Trash on your dock.
Delete an item from your Mac
Drag the item to the Trash. Or select the item, then press Command (⌘)–Delete.
Click the Trash, then click Empty. You can also choose Finder > Empty Trash.
When you see a warning message, click OK.
OS X Yosemite: Delete files and folders
    Take care,
    Alex H.

  • Saving photos from Mail.app

Anyone else having an issue after upgrading to iOS 4.1 when saving a picture from the Mail.app it isn't viewable in the Photo.app?
I'll get some pictures (full-resolution) via mail, but when I use the "save images" feature in mail, it saves a lower resolution picture in Photos. On top of that, I'm unable to mail the punctures from the photo.app. Or send via mms. If I copy, it copies a low res version.

I noticed the same issue last weekend after updating to iOS4.1. The saved photos seem to lock up the camera roll and you have to go to a previous picture and then scroll to the newly saved picture to view it. It is saved in such a low resolution, it is not worth having.

  • Attaching photos to Mail then saving by Outlook users

While I can attach and send photos, the problem is for the recipient if they are using Outlook. They see the picture and the file name as a JPEG, but they can't save it as a JPEG.
How do you resolve that or can you?

I use Mail to send photos, and the problems are with Microsoft receivers. At work we run Windows XP so I sent some photos to myself a couple of different ways. When I send it, I am attaching JPEG. When it arrives, I see the picture as if it were a text document and the file name is displayed below the picture with a JPEG extension. The problem is saving it - there is no JPEG option. HTML, Text and a few other options.
That just seems odd to me. If I attach an Excel file, I receive an Excel file.

  • Saving Photo E-mail Attachments

Does anyone know how to save e-mail attachments (particularly photos) to the iPhone?

well, when I get home to my iMac, I reopen the email containing the pics so I can see them bigger, save them to iPhoto from there, and make any adjustments like cropping or color or sharpness, then I know the better version will be synced to my iPhone on the next sync. But it would be nice to just save them directly. I'm just wondering if that would get us into sync nightmares having the same pics on both the iPhone and in iPhoto ready to sync..seems like that forces the iPhoto window to come up asking you which version you want to keep.

  • 3.1.2: "Saved Photos" bug

There seems to be a hidden photo in the Photos app on my iPod touch. It says there is 1 photo in my Saved Photos album, but tapping on it shows nothing.
    Here is a screenshot:
Is there a way to fix this without restoring?

Were you able to solve this issue? I am experiencing the same problem with (1) Photo listed in the Saved folder - however, there is no photos in the folder.
I jailbroke (sp?) a while back, but since, have restored it as well. I haven't noticed any problems or issues with the ipod Touch - outside of the photo issue.
    Any luck?
    Thanks.

  • Having problems with Bridge shutting down after saving photo in PS Cs5,,,,,,,,,  Also when i attempt to update either PS or bridge get an error message in Adobe application manger "Error loading updater workflow"

Having problems with Bridge shutting down after saving photo in PS Cs5,,,,,,,,,  Also when i attempt to update either PS or bridge get an error message in Adobe application manger "Error loading updater workflow"

Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

  • I updated to iOS7 and my deleted photos came back.  How do I make sure this doesn't happen again?

I updated to iOS7 and my deleted photos came back.  How do I make sure this doesn't happen again?  I want to get rid of the ones I already got rid of, but if they just keep coming back that will be a waste of time.
    Can anyone help?
When I sync with itunes, the photos sections says I am syncing with my iphone, so I assume that anything I physically delete from my iphone should not be showing up again.  Right?
    Thanks in advance.
    CM
    PS- I don't use iphoto.

Is that really how sync works?
If you read this, http://support.apple.com/kb/ht4236  and this http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1314  they don't actually make how sync works very clear.  I had thought that syncing my device to itunes would allow I tunes to copy what was currently on my phone so that I could restore that information when needed ie if your phone dies and you need to do a clean install of the iOS system, you always have what is currently on your phone saved in Itunes.
    Specifically reading this:
To delete Camera Roll photos and videos from your device
There are two methods to delete items from the Camera Roll:
Import the Camera Roll to your computer and choose to delete items after import.
Delete photos and videos from your device manually:
Open the Photos application and open the Camera Roll.
    Tap the Action button.
Tap each photo to select it.
    Tap the Delete button.
Note: For photos and videos you want to save, import them to your computer before deleting them from the Camera Roll.
What you seem to be saying is that iTunes saves every contact, message, photo etc and when you click sync, it reuploads things that you deleted?  This seems like it should work the opposite.  Make a mirror image of my iPhone on my computer, not make a mirror image of my computer onto my iPhone.  You delete things for a reason.
Help- anyone else?  Is razmee209 right?

  • I saved photos from my Macbook Pro onto my Iphone (using itunes, 4 years ago). My macbook is now dead and I need to get the photos I saved off of my iphone 3GS transferred to a pc.  Any help...  From my PC I can only access "internal storage"

I saved photos from my Macbook Pro onto my Iphone (using itunes, 4 years ago). My macbook is now dead and I need to get the photos I saved off of my iphone 3GS transferred to a pc.  Any help...  From my PC I can only access "internal storage"

The iphone is not a storage/backup device.  The picture sycn is one way - computer to iphone.  The photos are also reduced in size when synced to iphone so they are not of the original quality
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup of your computer.
Have you failed to do this?
If so, not good at all, you can e-mail the pics to yourself - keep in mind they will never be of the original quality

  • Saved Photos from email attachments blurry in photos.app

I have two problems since upgrading to 2.0. When I view photo attachments from my email, the photos look perfectly clear. But when I save the photos to the photos application it looks completely blurry. I did a test by saving photos from safari and there was no problems. The only way to fix this is extract the photos from ipod and resync it using itunes. Also when i plug in the ipod to windows xp, i get autorun message saying "camera connected select program for this action" there was no option to take no action. It gets annoying. Appreciate any help for my problem.

ah, the old photo resolution bug. this was supposed to be fixed in one of the 2.X updates, some people found it fixed it, some people found it didn't.

  • Send photos from saved photos in letter from my iPad Mimi

I would  like to know, how to send my saved photos in a letter? I have sent a photo, not an attachment before I just do not remember how to do it. I have an iPad Retina mini. please help someone who doesn't have a clue.

If you mean you want to send them in an email, start your email, when you get to the point where you want to insert the photo tap and hold with your finger, then tap the right arrow in the pop-up (to the right of Paste), tap Insert Photo or Video, select the photo, then tap choose.  If you're emailing multiple photos you can tap return twice and do this again.
Alternatively, you can open the photos app, tap the album containing the photo(s) you want to send, tap Select, tap the photo(s), tap the share icon (box with upward pointing arrow, then tap Mail.  This will open a new email with the selected photo(s) attached.

  • When we attach photos to an email in the Apple Mail app, the photos appear tiny on gmail accounts.

When we attach photos to an email in the Apple Mail app, the photos appear tiny on gmail accounts. They are unable to download the file as the size sent. We have tested this in multiple gmail accounts and we have tried sending as different sizes and actual size with no difference. Other photos attached in other ways come through fine. This seems to be a a result of the recent iphotos to photos app update.
Please advise on if this is a bug with how mail is ending the photos or how gmail is receiving them.

Try using Mail as the email client for iPhoto and see if that will fix the problem:

  • Curious sizing bug in Photos

    Greetings Folks
There appears to be a weird bug in Photos which has been there since iOS 4. Pics shot in JPEG format shot on my Canon EOS 1000D and transferred to my iPad 2 with the Camera Connection Kit should be 3888 x 2592 pixels but certain photo editing apps only "see" them as being 2048 x 1365. A few apps see them at the correct size, Photogene being an example.
Moreover, if I shoot RAW (as I generally do) and send the imported pic to another app without first processing the RAW image through PhotoRaw first, editing apps only see them at 1936 x 1288. It's as if Photos is ignoring the actual size of the imported image and handing off an image only half the size. If I process RAW images through PhotoRaw first, saved JPEGs from this app are seen at the correct size by other apps.
Since I shoot RAW virtually all the time, this bug doesn't affect me but the few occasions when I need to shoot in JPEG format, I'm presented by this quandry. Has anyone else seen this behaviour and should I file a bug report with Apple?
    =:~)

    Hi Lucas
I don't have this problem but here is the link to the Apple feedback page. As there is no specific page for iPhoto IOS, you can use the iphone one.

  • Crash when saving photo when contact edit screen open - anyone else?

On two separate iPhones I have experienced a crash when saving a photo taken from "inside" the contacts edit screen. In both cases the photo app would capture the image and attempt to save. The screen goes black for about 5 seconds then returns to the home screen. The photo is not in the camera roll and the image container on the contact editor screen is empty.
    iPhone G3, 16GB, v2.2 <--both phones tested
Sequence: Open Contacts, locate existing entry, tap "edit", tap "add photo", tap "take photo", shoot picture, tap "set photo", system shows "saving photo" pinwheel, then screen goes black.
Doesn't happen every time. One instance corrupted the mail application and applied a false name in the "from" field for many of my emails. Remedy: Reload v2.2 software and restore from backup.
    Anyone else see this behavior?

I have had this same problem. As best I can recall, I have the problem every time. I've certainly updated software, reset software and reinstalled 2.2 for my phone, for other reasons. And, I've gotten another friend to duplicate the problem. My workaround is to save the contact info and then take the picture from the camera and then reopen and edit the contact and add the picture. It's just that, sometimes, I make a leap of faith and try to take a save a picture from within the contacts. It's a teeny, minor embarassment when I then have to ask a person for their info again, as the contact crashes before it's been saved.
Mostly, I'd enjoy the elegance of being able to add contacts and their photo at the same time. I know that's what is intended by Apple.
I don't intend to newly install 2.2 software, etc. with my iPhone to try and solve this problem. Just seems like a waste of time at the moment. I just want to state that it's a problem and it would be meaningful for Apple to correct this in 3.0
Life with the iPhone hasn't been perfect, but it has been awesome!
