IOS7 + Mail

Have just upgraded to IOS7, however when I open up mail, I do not have an inbox or search box showing. All previous emails have disappeared although I can view deleted emails.
I have a box which is called 'unread' into which a email arrived. however when I opened it and read it, it has now disappeared and I cannot find where it has gone. I did not delete it.

You can set up groups of Contacts on your Mac and you will see those groups in the Contacts app on your iPad. But Mail on the iPad and iPhone will not let you send to one of those groups unless you add each name separately. Trying to add the group name and expecting Mail to send to everyone in the group will not work.
There may be other email apps in the App Store that will do what you want but I'm not sure.

You usually need an SSL certificate for universities. Refer to your universities website or talk to your network administrator.

Cannot see attachments in ios7 mail

I have both an iphone and an ipad with IOS7 installed. I received an email with a PDF attachment. When viewing the email from my MAC (Mavericks), I can see that there is a a PDF attachment in the email. But when viewing the same email message from IOS 7, either iphone or ipad, the PDF attachment is not there.
I regularly review my email on my mobile device and have had several situations lately where I did not know there was an attachment. Then later, I saw the attachment when I was on my MAC Air.
I have already check the setting to Load Remote Images and it is turned on for both devices. I've tried turning it off and back on and restarting the devices and neither of those will cause message to display the PDF.
Can someone help?

When you check the mail and scroll down to the bottom of the mail, you do not see anything about downloading the attachment? Are these extremely large attachments? I have had no issues with attachments with either my personal POP email, nor my work Exchange account in iOS 7, so I cannot say that it is just an iOS 7 issue. I find it especially interesting that this is happening on two separate devices. What type of account is this, POP, IMAP, or Exchange?

TS3899 Custom Domain of Gmail account(google app for business) greyed out(disabled) in iOS7 mail for no reason.

I have a free/standard version of google app for business with @simmonstaiwan.com.tw as our domain. One of our user's email account one day suddenly cannot access her email account that was already setup in iOS 7 mail app. Only her company gmail acct grey out, her other personal email accounts are working just fine.
First, I thought it was her iPhone5's issue. Therefore I tried to remove the email account and re-added it back. No work. So I thought maybe it's the custome domain gmail account issue. So, I added her email account to my iPhone4s with iOS7 with correct account name and password. Still not working, the account added successful and is enable, but I just cannot click into or onto that account and see any emails. That account name just greyed out for no reason.
So, I grab an iPad with iOS6 on it and added that account onto the machine. It worked!! Looks like that email account(gmail) only worked on iOS6 device but not iOS7. May I know maybe what really caused this to occur?
Any comments or suggestions or thoughts are very welcome and will be helpful for me to debug.

You set it up, and you failed to distinguish between the SMTP servers or assign the correct one to your copy of Mail (it doesn't actually know which is which, you need to inform it)
Open Mail>Preferences>Accounts (NOT Mail>Accounts) and go down to the SMTP server list, choose the correct server for each account then check the box that says 'Use Only This Server' for each account.
This is not automatic, you get to choose and if you don't then this will result.
Remove the non functional ones.

IOS7 mail problem: Can't Limit Recent Messages

It seems iOS7 eliminated the option to set the number of recent e-mails to have on the phone. Looking at the MacWorld guide to iOS7 I found the following : "Similarly, a few settings are no longer available: the option to choose how many recent messages to show..." This is a problem for me, I have about 30,000 gmail messages, I don't need them all on the phone. Unless there is an option I can't find, I would respectfully request Apple consider providing thie "# recent" option to iOS7.

How to have iCloud alias as default ios7 mail id

I have aliases set up with my iCloud email account. With iOS7 is there any way to have the outgoing email id DEFAULT to one of the aliases, rather than the main ID?
I know I can choose an alias in the FROM section, but I would like to have it default to one of them...

What do you mean it won't be push?? I just did the workaround and it seems to be pushing to my device. Maybe I don't understand what push is because I can do all that I was able to do when I was going directly through the icloud email account.
You likely have a Fetch interval enabled as well (Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > Fetch New Data). So you're seeing your new mail, but it is being fetched instead of pushed. If you set the Fetch interval to Manually, you won't receive any email until you actually view your Inbox.

You need to enter your main account identity in the IMAP and SMTP server settings. Using an alias in those fields will result in the error you're getting.

Ios7 mail issue

Ios7 why do i no longer automatically get my email on ios7.i have to open mail and use the fetch option in order to download any messages. Previously the message came straight through and i got a alert tone even when the ipad is switched off. I have checked all of the notification settings and they are correct. The push mail setting does not seem to be working

Quit the Mail app forts then reset the iPad.
Double click the Home button to show the screen with running and recently used apps. Each app icon will have a sample page above it. Flick up on the page (not the app icon) and the page will fly away and the app icon will disappear. This quits that app. Then reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.

IOS7 Mail bug - saving photos.

So I just updated to stupid iOS7, which so far am unimpressed, mainly because I didn't want iTunes 11 and now am forced to update. However, I am constantly being mailed photos and have never had issues saving multiple photos before. Anyway, went to save multiple images this morning and first off i thought they had changed the way you save (holding down on image and hitting save), because it took multiple seconds for the pop up to come up (first world problems). Anyway, it finally popped up, however went to save multiple images and nothing saved. not a single photo. i restarted my phone thinking perhaps that was the issue. nada. then went and saved a single photo and low and behold it worked. obviously i don't want to have to wait multiple seconds for the pop up to show up, plus having to save 40 photos at that rate is absurd. i doubt anyone can help me out, but wondering if anyone has had the same issue? also, is there a place to report bugs? So frustrating!!!

Just counted took 15 seconds for the pop up to come up.

Recently I started using an iPhone 5S after over four years with an iPod Touch. The Mail app on the iPhone deletes messages from my server. I do not want it to do this, I cannot find the option to turn off in Settings, and the iOS Mail help page at Apple Support is for an older OS version. Insight and advice would be appreciated. I think I figured out a workaround at least. It appears that the "Power Nap" feature is doing the mail checking. Although the concise descriptions of Power Nap say it "allows your Mac to do things like periodically check for new mail, calendar, and other iCloud updates" (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5394?viewlocale=en_US&locale=en_US), it apparently doesn't just allow these actions, it does them -- regardless of your mail settings. I suspect this is a bug.
Turning off Power Nap (in the Energy Saver panel in System Preferences) stopped the unwanted mail fetching, but unfortunately that also means that I don't get the benefit of the other activities it does, like Spotlight indexing. There are two places to turn it off, one for the "Battery" tab and one for the "Power Adapter" tab.
Since Power Nap was introduced with Mountain Lion, but I never had the problem until Mavericks, I assume that either (1) Power Nap was off by default in Mountain Lion but is on by default in Mavericks, or (2) this is another of several Mail problems introduced by Mavericks.

How do I delete all this old email at one time? How do I stop this massive downloading?

After a frustrating time trying just about everything that was suggested both in these forums and others I decided this morning to try a 'workround'. My email is via BT (UK) so went to source (yuk! BT Yahoo Mail), created a folder '2013' (I usually do this at the end of a year to archive everything) and moved all but the last couple of months emails to that. Went back to ipad and all the supposed unread mail had disappeared. I suppose now I should be brave and move it back out of the folder and into the inbox and see what happens but, to be frank, life is too short!
Apple still needs to sort this bug. It shouldn't be this difficult.

This is really annoying. Mail search on iOS 7 never worked, either on iPhone
4S or on iPad.
Search results are not sorted in any perceivable order. I get totally random results, with messages dating 4 years back jumping to yesterday and so on.
I have never seen Apple to respond to this issue with earnest feedback, and users are often dismissed.
I used to have to resort to my Macbook Pro to get decent results, but due to the many mail app problems on OSX, I do not rely on it anymore.
Can Apple please give feedback to this search issue on the IOS devices? It is really, REALLY crippling.

'Unable to move message' iOS7 mail app

Everytime i try to delete email(s) on the standard apple mail app on my iPhone 4s the process wont complete saying 'Unable to move message'. i have tried deleting and re adding the account, rebooting my phone syncing with iTunes and nothing seems to stop the message appearing. I know the error doesn't lie with the account as i can send emails from the outlook website and complete the processes on there. I don't know what else to do now...

since its now January 2010, I sure hope you have resolved this issue! I had the same problem after I had to restore my iphone G3. Anyway, played around a bit and was able to fix by changing the "deleted mailbox" behavior...to use the trash on the server vs on "my iphone"
here it is:
settings/mail,contacts/accounts (choose yours)/advanced/deleted mailbox/
then click the trash bin on the server.
this should also work for your sent mail behavior.
