Ios7 No push notifications. Help. Don't want to backup an restore if I don't have to.
Updated to os7 on my iPhone 4S. Now says"hook up to iTunes to enable push notifications." In phone settings everything is set up right. ANY OTHER WAY2 fix? Besides hookingUp 2iTunes,backingUp phone, thenRestoring phone-Which isthe onlyanswer I've found.

Does anyone know which apps are web wrapped for allowing IMAPing to mail & calendar have push notifications but don't download data to the device?
Basically, our enterprise would like to allow users to use personal iOS devices to access mail, calendar and contacts (we're on Google Apps). However, our strict security requirements are such that we need to make sure the app isn't being "overly helpful" and saving the accessed data in a cache or pulling it down to the device in any way.
My quick test for checking if apps don't pull down data to reside on the device is to put the device in Airplane Mode. If you can see your email or calendar
entries with an app when it's in airplane mode, then it's pulling the data down or caching it in some way.
I've tested the Google Gmail app and the Google Apps Browser from G-Whizz and both fail this test since they cache the last mail and/or calendar entries accessed.
The only legit way for users to access our enterprise mail and calendar is through the browser only. However, they can't get push notifications or alerts for new emails or from their calendar. The concern and likely outcome is that users will just set up an account on the native Mail app using IMAP, either knowing and disregarding that it's a security violation or not really understanding that they're committing a security violation.
I gotta believe there's an app for that.

I'm an expat and it seems that these sites aren't really expat-friendly. They seem to be built for localization and assume everyone stays in the same place.
I don't know what I'd be considered. I'm a US passport holder and live in China, but I only speak some Chinese and I can't read it (it using non-latin characters is just too much for my mind's memory to handle). Besides that, I'm not interested in popular Chinese apps. They tend to just be annoying and kooky and generic and put together badly, often full adware and spyware (speaking for most Chinese software, in fact). In fact, a lot of apps I want are illegal in China (YouTube, Facebook, etc) and I use a VPN to use the services. I assume I wouldn't find these apps on the Chinese store. In fact, last I checked, there wasn't many English apps on the Chinese app store. This is probably due to their strict moderation or something.
I've been going to international schools since I got here and college would be in English too. I can speak some Chinese, but not read it.
Well, I guess the answer is that I can't use the App Store in English. So I guess I'll just sign out everything on my phone involving my Apple account and just start using third-party tools to do my business. -
I backed up my Iphone to itunes so i can do the new Update to IOs 7 and so now that i updated it i want to backup and restore and its not working, Please help!
An iPhone backup to a computer via iTunes stores the photos in a backup file that is only meant to be be used if needed to restore back to the phone. There is 3rd party "extractor" software available but otherwise the photos are not directly viewable.
The backup via iTunes was a good idea and your Camera Roll photos should be there and should be able to be restored to your new phone. However if it was me I wouldn't rely on that alone. I would also import the photos to a computer where you can see and verify that you have a copy. That is a good idea at any time (not just when you know you might need it). Any phone can be lost, broken, suffer hardware issues, etc at any time and lose all data on it. Ios7 and push notifications and music
this update is really starting to annoy me now.
everytime i go on texts/whatsapp/kik/ anything it tells me to connect my phone to itunes to use push notifications.. so i connected to itunes and got load of songs i didnt want on my phone and no push notifications.
i have no idea how to delete the songs cause swiping accross doesnt work and clicking it just makes it play.. so help ??
and how do i get my push notifications to work?! its driving me crazy

PUSH NOTIFICATION HELP ON QQ2011
The app QQ2011 can not recieve push notifications. it worked for a few days but now i have to open the app to see my new messages. and after a few days it worked again. any idea what is going on?
Found the solution without deleting or logging out.
Tap Recent to bring up your conversation history.
Tap the Edit button at the top of the screen.
Tap the check icon at the top right of the screen and select Mark All As Read.
You can also tap Yes, don’t ask again so that next time you only need to tap the Edit button and the check icon to mark all your received conversations as “read”.
At first you may not see any changes, but when you leave the Recent tab, things will update. -
When sandbox is testing, the push notification is done.

Connect to iTunes with iOS7 for "Push" notifications
Since updating to iOS7, every time I start Gmail and other programs I get this type error message. I cannot find iTunes on the phone and I also there is no selection for "push" for Gmail, only "Fetch"and manual. Any ideas?
having the smae issues and tried everything but nothing is helping. heard that iPhone may need to be restored to original settings.

I was able to solve this problem now as follows:
1. delete your iCloud mail accoount from: Settings -> Mail/Contact/Calender
2. login with icloud under Settings -> iCloud
and after that push will work -
Ios7.2 push notification balloon
When opening an app this baloon appears asking to ok itunes for notifications/alerts etc. when I press the om the alert returns and a game of tag starts it won't go away. I start hitting the home button in between hitting this ok and thats my problem.
Shut every thing down regarding that app and I still have the prob. In the past i've deleted a few apps rather then deal with this...

Update notifications that don't have a link
A box shows with an hp notification comes up periodically.telling me of an update available, asking if I want to install it. But there is no way to activate it or make it go away unless I reboot. All I can do is drag it out of my way. I have to reboot to get rid of it. I have automatic updates on my computer.

What version of Windows do you have installed on this computer?
Has your computer completed all of its important Windows Updates?
Is this a recent or on-going issue?
Are you able to activate and dismiss updates when you boot your computer in Safe Mode? To do this, please follow this document for Windows 7 Safe Mode, or Windows 8 Safe Mode.

I need help
Try to reset the phone by holding the sleep and home button for about 10sec, until the Apple logo comes back again. You will not lose any data by resetting.
If you can, back up the phone using iTunes on your computer:
Create and delete iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch backups in iTunes
If the screen is still not responding after the reset, the next thing to try would be restoring the phone to factory settings, to rule out a software problem:
Use iTunes to restore your iOS device to factory settings - Apple Support
If still not working after that, the screen has a hardware issue and the phone has to be serviced:

IOS7 push notification bug resets all apps to no notification
It's the third time I get this bug on ios7. What happens is that out of the blue all push notification settings stop working and everytime I open an app it asks me if I want to allow push notifications. When this happens the battery is drained lot faster and I have to reset the phone to factory settings to get things working fine again. I have an Iphone 4 16gb with latest ios7 build.
It happened again yesterday. The phone died on battery and when I powered it on boom!! Every app now asked to allow for push notifications. I have a theory, as I was receiving messages on whatsapp before the phone died maybe what happens is if the phone is powered off while receiving a notification then this mess happens. I'll try to replicate.
