IOS7 screen rotation :in app smooth - homescreen not so

I just noticed that the screen rotation isn't as smooth as before on the homescreen since IOS 7 .
But within an app the rotation is still smooth.
iPad3 here.

Are other people able to turn their iPad Minis and have the Remote app rotate it's screen?

    Hello, the screen rotation is locked on my ipod touch. I have no idea how it got that way and can not find how to turn it off.  Please help!

    Double click on the home button to open the multitask bar, swipe to the right until you see the play controls for music, right next to it is the Orientaion lock icon. Tap on it to disable it, close the multitask bar again by clicking the home button.

  • Galaxy S6 Edge Screen Rotation and S Health steps NOT WORKING

    I know about the screen rotation problem after some research. I bought my S6 edge on 4/10 and the screen rotation stopped working on 4/24. Now my s health daily steps stopped work today(4/26). I called samsung this morning and they tried to clear my cache to fix the screen but no luck on fixing. They think the s health problem is due to the screen problem also. Is there any other tips for a fast fix or do I wait for a software update? Also does anyone else have both these problems together?
    Thanks
    Victor

    No help anywhere. Verizon told me to wait for the update coming soon. So i been waiting and checking everyday. I can replace my phone with a refurbished one but I want a new one since mine was new when this issues first occur.

  • Hi! Why have Samsung Tablet two Screens for using Apps, and Apple not?

    why it creates Samsung Tablets manufacture, which can implement a split screen. But Apple did not!

    Hi! thanks fir the answer.
    I work a lot with the iPad, a split screen of Samsung is very useful, but I love my iPad. Maybe not for long.

  • Screen sharing Mac apps (that are not iChat)

    I only have luck with iChat when I use my AirPort Extreme router. Using my neighboars lynksys router, it never works. Are they are Mac apps out there that will do what iChat does, but without the headaches? I'm looking for some good paid software.

  • Annoying screen rotation - no rotation lock

    Hello.
    To rotate my scree I need to tilt my iPad 2 about 30 degrees.
    But the screen rotated to left even I tilt it's about 5 degrees.
    This is very annoying. I know that I can use screen rotation lock but this is not he case.
    When I hold it flat i can have little variations to the sides and my screen is not rotating but if I only tilt it little bit to the left my screen tomatoes, but if I tilt it the same amount to the right my screen is not rotating.
    My accelerometer is ok, I checked it in level app.
    tl,dr.
    It takes very little little to rotate my screen to right ( to the left, top, or bottom it takes normal amount).
    I hope you understand me.

    You could take it to an Apple store and have them look at it.
    Also,
    I only tilt it little bit to the left my screen tomatoes
    what?

  • Creating a splash screen for your app.

    Im trying to create a splash screen for my app but im not too sure how it's done.
    Im using the following piece of code.
    public static void main(String[] args)
              JPanel display = new JPanel();
              display.setPreferredSize(new Dimension( (300), (200) ));
              display.setBackground(Color.white);
                   // I WILL PUT AN IMAGE ICON ON A JLABEL HERE
              display.setVisible(true);
                   // I WILL NEED A DELAY HERE
              test.instance();
    }The problem I am having is that the JPanel is not being displayed. I will also need a way to create a delay, I know that I can't just use Thread.sleep(5000); because the JPanel will require the thread to be running in order to display the panel.
    Does anyone know how I could get my JPanel to display and somehow insert a delay before test.instance();?
    Thanks.

    I made my own a few days before for a database program. It can be easily done with Threads.
    I recommend you create a new class to be used as the spalsh screen , it has to extends JFrame and implements Runnable.
    I ll give you an example. I used the spash screen to display the screen and also to laod the main GUI form so that when the spash screen dispose, the main GUI form displays instantly, making the user think that the application loads faster.
    public void run ()
            try
                 this.setVisible(true);
                 Thread.sleep(2000);
                 // sets the menu visible before disposing
                 guiMenu.setVisible(true);
                 // disposes the object and returns the resources to the OS
                 this.dispose();
            catch(InterruptedException exception)
                exception.printStackTrace();
    // this method must be implement in the class
    // that implements Runnable interface
    //MAIN
    public class Main
        public static void main(String[] args)
            Menu menu = new Menu();
            SplashScreen introScreen = new SplashScreen(menu);
            ExecutorService splashExecutor= Executors.newFixedThreadPool(1);
            splashExecutor.execute(introScreen);
    }ExecutorService is a subinterface of Executor that declares methods for managing the threads. It also has the method execute (that provides the Executor interface) which when invoked calls the method public void run() of the argument class that must implement Runnable.
    Executors.newFixedThreadPool(1); creates a poll consisting of a 1 thread which is been used by splashExecutor to execute the Runnable.
    Hope i've been of some assistance!

  • What's going on with ios8... Screen rotate does not work anymore, wifi doesn't work very well anymore and apps are crashing or running slow... Come on Apple sort this mess out

    ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
    first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and  lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
    the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly....  come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......

    Same issue here... iphone5S 64GB.  It's intermittent.  Sometimes the rotation works fine, sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it doesn't work.
    The first time I figured out it wasn't working was when all newly-taken photos and videos were showing up in portrait mode though I always hold in landscape mode when photographing.
    Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off).  Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
    This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8.  I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
    UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily.

  • Screen rotation not working with all apps

    My auto rotation does not work for all applications, sometimes it rotates other timed it does not. It happened after the last update

    My first suggestion is to hard reboot the device by holding down the off button and the home button till the screen turns off then just the device back on.
    If that dose not work I would suggest updating to iOS 7 if you can and then also ensure that the app is up to date.
    If all else fails try reinstalling the app.
    Hope this helps

  • IPhone 5, Is there a way to stop screen rotation for specific apps?

    The automatic screen rotation feature is useful - sometimes, and just plain annoying other times.  I prefer to read my e-mail in portrait mode, however the slightest movement or rotation while doing so will cause the screen to rotate (with the phone generally still in portrait position).  I then have to shake the phone to get it to rotate back.  This is very annoying.
    I would like to be able to lock the screen rotation for only a single app (e.g. mail) while still keeping it active for the camera, or videos.  Many of the book programs that I use, have this feature built-in, however this question is for apps that do not have this built-in.
    The built in rotation lock is all-or-nothing, and is generally a pain to use.  It adds another step to just about everything I do (If I read mail, then want to view a video, I have to go back and unlock it).
    Is there a way to lock the screen rotation for a specific app?

    I would have expected this function to be available in settings where the application specific settings are located.  (At least for the major applications like e-mail).

  • Homepage will not rotate but apps do

    Homepage will not rotate but apps do

    That's normal.  The iPhone home screen does not rotate.  Also, not every app rotates either.

  • Why won't my iPhone 4 screen rotate and why do my apps launch upside down?

    Hi, I've had my iPhone 4 for maybe a month now and it's been working completely fine until today some problems developed.
    1. My screen won't rotate when using apps, text, etc. even though I have screen rotation unlocked.
    2. When opening some of my apps (example: Cleverbot, Bejeweled) they launch upside down for some reason, but only when I have screen rotation unlocked. If I lock screen rotation they launch upright.
    P.S. Screen rotation and the apps were working completely fine up until today all of a sudden they stopped working right and I have no idea what I could have done to cause it.

    To be precise:
    Check to see if Screen Lock is ON, then turn it OFF. Press Home Button twice quickly > scroll new bottom row to the right > Tap Screen Lock icon on left side.
    NOT the little icon at the top of the screen.

  • IPhone 4S screen rotates strangely in email app

    iPhone 4S screen rotates strangely in email app.
    The top-most status bar rotates (which shows the...
    Signal reception, time, etc.)
    But the rest of screen does not rotate. (Email body)

    Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps BEFORE doing the reset.

  • After syncing a replacement iPad for the first time, my apps have a "waiting " on the screen I can access them but not on opening screen

    After syncing a replacement iPad for the first time, my apps now have a"waiting" message . I can still access from settings but not on the opening app page

    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
    Check your settings. The iPads have a small switch on the right edge. It can be used as a rotation lock to keep the screen from automatically reorienting itself as you move around, but you need to have the tablet’s settings configured properly. That same switch, right above the volume buttons, can also be set to function instead as a mute button to silence certain types of audio.
    If the switch is set to work as a mute button, you can change its purpose to “screen-rotation lock” by tapping the Settings icon on the home screen. On the Settings screen, tap General on the left side, and on the right side of the screen flick down to “Use Side Switch to.” Tap to select Lock Rotation or Mute to set the button’s function. Even if you set the side switch for your preferred use, you can still mute the Mini or lock the screen. Just double-click the Home button, and when the panel of apps appears along the bottom edge of the screen, flick the row from left to right with your finger. Tap the icon on the far left side of the row to either lock the iPad’s screen or mute the iPad’s alerts, notifications and sound effects. Music, podcasts and video are not muted unless you turn the volume all the way down.
