IOS7 Syncing issues - Single song deleting using iTunes.

Since iOS7 on my iPhone (and all iTunes updates since the iOS7 iPhone update up to 11Oct13), I have massive problems updating my iPhone. The problem being that I can make minor changes on my phone and then sync my phone, but my phone reverts to all the old songs, apps, etc.. from the last sync. What simple setting am I missing? I've never had this problem before, and why does itunes have authority over my iPhone on the sync? Can I change this? Why can't I delete single songs off my iPhone using iTunes? It's bloody frustrating.

Cannot sync and backup the iPhone using iTunes

I developed the program and uploaded it on the iPhone. The problem is that with the my application installed, I cannot sync and backup the phone using iTunes. As soon as the app is removed, I was able to perform the expected sequence of backing up and syncing the phone. This issue affects both Windows and Mac users of the iPhone app. This happened on iOS 4.0 with both an iPhone 4 and 3GS. How can I solve this problem?

IPad that has sync issues shows "lock" icon in iTunes preferences

I occassionally have trouble completing an iTunes sync with my iPad. In most instances, if I do a soft-reset of the iPad that will solve my problem. On other occasions, I delete the iPad back-up in iTunes preferences to complete the sync. That makes me very nervous.
My family syncs two iPhones and two iPads on one computer. I've noticed that the iPad that has sync problems...there is a "lock" symbol by it's name in the iTunes preferences...Devices...Device Backups. All other device backups don't have the "lock" symbol.
What does this mean and can it be affecting the sync process?

It is sync'd to another PC with Itunes as the default- I had the same issue- PC I was trying to use wasn't the default- Resync'd by checking the Sync in the main menu for your Ipad/phone- and locked is gone-

Is it possible to sort songs after using iTunes Match?

When I used iTunes to sync my songs previously, everything's fine because I can do all in iTunes then press sync.
But with the use of iTunes Match, everything seems automatically done through the "cloud".
I can't even rearrange the order of my songs, like sorted by artists or names of the songs.
It's pretty a mess when viewing my playlist, the songs are disordered.
Is it the fact that we can't sort songs?

I didn't say "re-create" I said "restore from a backup." Restoring from a backup will place all the files just as they were right back where they need to be. This includes the .itl, .itdb ad .xml files iTunes needs to recognize that the files on the internal HDD are the same as the files in the cloud.
You do have a backup, don't you? If you don't then I strongly recommend you start backing up immediately.
If all else fails you can email iTunes Store support and ask them to reset your iTunes Match DB on the server. This will require your iTunes to go through the entire scan, match and upload process as if it were the first time.

When I try to sync my photos on iphone using itunes, some events are incomplete on my iphone and they are all randomly placed instead of being sorted by date like on my iphoto. Help?

Using the latest Iphoto and Iphone5 software. I try to sync all my photos on my iphone and for some reasons, when they appear on my iphone, some events (when i go to events from mac) are incomplete (photos missing in some events) and randomly presented as opposed to being sorted by date like they are on my iphoto on my mac. This also happens on trying to sync my ipad... Solution anyone?

It sounds like you are syncing photos from iPhoto on your computer but not all the photos you set to sync are actually coming over, and they are disorganized. Based on what you are describing, I would recommend deleting the iPod Photo cache which stores picture information that iTunes uses to sync photos from your iPhoto library. When you use iTunes to sync photos to your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, iTunes creates a folder called iPod Photo Cache. The iPod Photo Cache stores photos that are optimized for display on your device. The location of this folder depends on the syncing options you select. In iTunes, if you change the selection in the Sync Photos From menu, a new iPod Photo Cache folder will be created (and the previous folder will remain).

Cannot sync iPhone with new apps using iTunes

My question is I am unable to sync my applications or even music or videos using iTunes, I use different computers to sync my iPhone, and one in particular but that particular system too has greyed out everything on me in iTunes and doesn't allow me to sync either songs videos, photots or applications.... and gives me a warning that I will loose all the existing apps or songs on my iPhone and whatever songs, apps..are present in the iTunes library would be added to my iPhone.
I want to keep existing songs, apps.. and also the new apps and songs from this itunes can it be done.

The iPhone can sync iTunes content (music, videos, apps, photos, etc.) from one computer only. Trying to sync iTunes content with a second computer will result in iTunes erasing the content from the first computer. However, non-itunes content such as contacts, calendars, mail settings, notes, etc. (anything in the Info pane) can be synced from another computer.

Won't accept single songs/palylists in iTunes after os3 update

Once iPhone is synced, I go to music in iTunes and try to drag just one song over or a playlist and the phone won't accept it.
I went into settings and set the music to automatically sync playlists and it will add the music that way.
When I updated the OS3 all music and playlists were removed from the phone. Everything else was there, apps, images, pictures I took specially from the phone itself, but alas no music.
Is there anything I can do. I searched and found a lot of other issues with this update but nothing about music.
I have not changed music formats, updated anything else (outside of the iTunes 8.2 upgrade). Actually the only change is I restarted the computer today because of loss of power.
Any ideas?

I let the sync fully load on one playlist. Once that was done I unplugged and powered off. Power on and sync again, clicking the manually chose music and video in first pane of setting window.
After that it allowed me to load any song. Not sure why it did this after the update but maybe a software glitch? Resenting and syncing may have done the trick.

How to find songs deleted from iTunes but on hard drive?

I have a very large library. My wonderful nieces "accidentally" deleted some song files from iTunes. However, the songs themselves are still on the hard drive.
Is there an easy way for iTunes to search the hard drive for music files, compare what is NOT currently in iTunes and import ONLY the missing songs?

I seem to recall one that looks for files not actually in itunes, but don't remember the name of the script.
If you have itunes manage your music for you I think you could just run consolidation again and it will add media that it finds that don't already exist in your library.

Can't see Playlists but can see songs when using iTunes in iPhoto

When I make a slideshow in iPhoto and try to select a playlist I made in iTunes, I can't see the playlists. I can see individual songs, but the playlists don't show up. I get the window with Sample, Garage Band and then iTunes, but there are no sub-categories under iTunes and none appear when I make the window larger. I'm a new mac user, so am I missing something obvious?

I have the same issues since I upgraded to iTunes 7. I dont even see the iTunes playlist in the iWeb. Any help/information is appreciated.

Repeat a song not using iTunes

hey- i am having trouble with my battery life and the help center recommended that i try my own battery test; they told me to charge it and such, but to also just put a song on repeat and see how long the ipod lasts... but i have no idea how to repeat a song by not using iTunes and by using only my iPod nano...

IPod Classic takes hours to sync a single song

I had an iPod Nano which was recently replaced by an iPod Classic. The first time I plugged the Classic into my computer, iTunes would not recognize it. I had to plug it into a different computer with iTunes on it to do the intial setup stuff. When I plugged it into my computer, it sync'd just fine. Everytime since then that I try to sync on my computer iTunes takes 15 minutes to show that it is there and every command (minimize, cancel, close, etc.) takes 15-20 minutes to execute. Also, it took almost 4 hours for iTunes to restore the Classic. Then after running for almost 10 hours, it had still only sync'd 110 songs (average length).
What the heck? I've tried uninstalling/reinstalling iTunes, I've tried different cables. When I plug the Nano into the same computer, it works perfectly. Someone help me out here. I have a feeling this one is going to have to be replaced. I've not even had it for a month yet.

The Classic sometimes seems to be a bit more sensitive to the state of the USB drivers on a PC than earlier models. With that in mind, does updating or reinstalling your USB drivers help with the connection performance of the Classic?

ITunes 11.1 and iOS7 syncing issues on OS X 10.5

I cannot download iTunes 11.1 as I am on Mac OS X 10.5. How do I now sync my iPhone which is on iOS7?

Likewise, I have a Yamaha RX-V473 which plays music via airplay from iPhone/iPad without problems. Since I upgraded my Mini to Mavericks (now 10.9.3) the iTunes airplay to the Yamaha is intermittent and after a song or so it gives up and shows an exclamation mark in iTunes on the Mini.
I eliminated the problem by doing two things (all from other recommendations):
Created a /etc/sysctl.conf file containing the line: net.link.ether.inet.arp_unicast_lim: 5 -> 0
Disabled IPv6 on the ethernet interface by using the command: networksetup -setv6off Ethernet
I was very pleased to have my music back but (as I now learn Bonjour needs IPv6) now my iPhones will not sync to iTunes remotely (wifi to the ethernet interface via a router - the Mac Mini wifi interface is disabled). If I re-enable IPv6 the airplay bombs out but the iPhone sync works!
All airplay music and syncing via wifi worked fine before the Mavericks upgrade. Needless to say, airplay to an airport express device was not affected by the upgrade, just the Yamaha. I'm pretty annoyed to have to delve into the unix commands to fix something like this. The reason I bought a mac was to NOT have to fiddle about for hours troubleshooting. Combined with "beach-balling" my iTunes often, I think the networking in Mavericks is gash with SMB problems and spurious ARP broadcasts. There's nothing wrong with Yamaha's implementation of airplay and there is nothing wrong with my network set up. So now I have to contemplate a roll-back or more hours of troubleshooting. How do I fix syncing issues between my iTouch and iTunes? My iTouch shows I have two copies of one song but on iTunes it shows I have one copy. I only purchased one copy too so where did the second copy come from?

Yesterday I purchased a few albums and CDs from iTunes to my iTouch. After charging my iTouch, I noticed some of the songs weren't there. So I checked my iTunes and they were still downloading so I synced them up to each other. For the 1st hour, there was only one copy of the song. Later on, when I hooked up my iTouch to see if my info corresponded to iTunes, I saw that there was additional copies of the same song on a few albums and some copies of individual songs. I didn't purchase them twice either. Now I have two copies on my iTouch but not my iTunes so I can't delete the additional copy.

Right now, I tried deleting all of the music and resyncing it from my iTunes directly to my iTouch. Hopefully this will solve the problem.
