Ios8 cannot share via itunes

I updated to iOS8, launched garageband, created a song, and found that the option to share via itunes is no longer available.
I chose the upload to icloud option--but cannot access the song in icloud on my windows 7 pc.
I cannot access the song in iTunes on my PC--I used to be able to--has something changed? Is this a bug?
Thanks.

  • Journal Share via iTunes results in index.json

I love the new Journal feature! But I don't understand what you can do with a Journal which you can export via iTunes to local files.    It basicly results in a Public folder, with an index.json file and all the photos in 4 different resolutions.
On the help page, I can read this:
Share your journal as a webpage
You can also export your journal to iTunes as a folder of files, which you can post on your own webserver.
I would at least expect an HTML file + photos, in order to view the journal in a webbrowser, just like when you export to iCloud.
How can the index.json be parsed, so I can use in on my webserver? Or am I simply missing files atm?

    Hi all,
I got it work! When I tried before, I have exported the journal on the iPad not connected to iTunes. Today I have connected the iPad to iTunes, in the APPs tab I scrolled down to the File section and selected iPhoto. Then I exported the journal on the iPad. In iTunes I have saved the files to disc and there it is: A Public directory with an index.html and subdirectory "static".
If you want to do this with a journal which you have already exported you will find that it is not possible to delete the files in iTunes. Solution: Rename the journal in iTunes and then do the export.
I have not reloaded the App from the App store!
Hope this will work for all of you.

  • Disabled iPad, cannot restore via iTunes

    Hello there.
My iPad is disabled after too many incorrect passcode attempts. I've tried to restore it via iTunes like as shown on an apple help page but it isn't working. Ipad says connect to iTunes, iTunes says it can't do anything because of the wrong passcode. Have logged into iCloud, gone onto the find my phone thing but device is offline.
Can't seem to work out what to do and feeling frazzled.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hello ChazzaTron
Have you tried putting your iPad into recovery mode and then restoring in iTunes? Check out the articles below to go through resolving the issue. You should still be able to remove Activation Lock from icloud.com in the Find My iPhone section.

  • Cannot Share via Email

When I try to share a photo via email, iPhoto begins processing, I get a message that iPhoto is preparing the photo for email. My computer then opens Mail, but then I get an error message under the finder. The error says "Mail Got an Error: Can't make class outgoing message."
    Any ideas?

What are your settings for email in the iPhoto Preferences? You may want to switch from iPhoto as an email client to Mail.app - see Old Toad's post here:
Re: iPhoto will not email from share saying that the 'server does not recognise the username/password combination'. My email account is working fine. Whats happening!

  • Cannot share my iTunes

I just got this nice laptop. iTunes 6 is on all the units on our network. I install it on the new laptop too. I checked to share all music. The other machines can share between each other Mac to Gateway; Gateway to Mac. That's working. My laptop can access iTunes on the Mac and the Gateway. The Mac and the Gateway both see "Tim's Tunes" (the laptop) but when we try to actually access the music, wer get the following error:
The shared music libary "Tim's Tunes" is not accessible for an unknown reason. (-3259)
Check that any firewall software running on either the shared computer or this compter has been set to allow communication on port 3689.
And of course opening ports and diabling firewalls has exactly no effect.
Ideas? Suggestions? Apple's help pages offer no insight.

I did a Search Discussions on "3259 sharing"
    http://discussions.apple.com/search.jspa?search=Go&q=3259+sharing
Since I don't know your hardware, I don't know which of the links would have your answer.
There were some fixes in some of them that helped folks.
    Good luck!

'Contacts' folder with sub folder cannot be removed after synching via iTunes
I am trying to remove a 'Contacts' subfolder

    - Contacts Mysubfolder 1 < Trying to remove this subfolder folder
via my microsoft outlook onto my iPhone.
Despite not having 'Contacts Mysubfolder 1' on my PC's outlook after deleting it, it does not delete the subfolder in my iPhone.
I even restored my iPhone settings to the original via iTunes.
I also replaced my physical iPhone but still synching with my original Apple ID + iTunes on the same desktop.
All I did was after replacement of my iP, i setup my microsoft Exchange account, and there it was, the Contacts subfolder which is no longer around, appears on my iPhone contacts folder list.
My outlook is on Microsoft exchange and I am on iP 3Gs

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you are running 64-bit Windows and the above steps haven't helped try installing the version of iTunes that can be downloaded from this support document. iTunes 12.1 for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards)
If you still have no luck try reinstalling iTunes 12.0, links in the user tip.

  • I cannot get an app that I just purchased via iTunes to download onto my iPad. It is not music. It shows up on my computer but not on my iPad.

I just purchased an app for my iPad (iOS 7.1)via iTunes. (It is not music.) I cannot find it on my iPad to download; it has not shown up on my display with my other apps. It does, however, show up on my MacBookPro. I have checked the iTunes on my iPad; the app does not show there. Where do I go from here?

If you purchased directly on the iPad, it should have downloaded automatically.

  • I am trying to reset my 4th generation ipod touch via itunes (as I cannot remember parental controls code). In itunes it does a download but then says the software was corrupted during download. Itunes is up to date. Operating system is vista. Any ideas?

I have given my 4th generation ipod touch to my husband and he wants to download some in app purchases, so I am trying to reset it via itunes. I dont remember setting parental controls but I must have at some point, maybe when I lent it to the kids. But I cannot remember the password and nothing I have tried works. So I have backed the ipod up and am trying to reset it but after speding 10 minutes doing a download I get a message that says:
"The softwaar for the iPod was corrupted during download. Disconnect and reconnect, then try again. Make sure your network settings are correct and your network connection is active, or try again later"
I have tried many times. All the settings are correct, and the network seems to be working fine in all respects.
    Any advice very much appreciated.
    Thank you
UPDATE - decided to try one more time after trying for hours and it has worked! I now suspect it may have been because my son was playing an online game. Though we have plenty of bandwidth. But in case, I guess it could be a bandwidth problem.

A Complete Guide to Restore or Recover Your iDevice (or if you forgot your passcode)
iTunes 10 for Mac- Update and restore software on iPod, iPhone, or iPad
iPhone, iPad, iPod touch: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen
    iOS- Understanding passcodes
If you have forgotten your Restrictions code, then follow the instructions
below but DO NOT restore any previous backup. If you do then you will
simply be restoring the old Restrictions code you have forgotten. This
same warning applies if you need to restore a clean system.
If you need to restore your device or if you cannot remember the passcode, then you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and re-sync the data from the device (or restore from a backup). If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present. Refer to Updating and restoring iPhone, iPad and iPod touch software.
Try restoring the iOS device if backing up and erasing all content and settings doesn't resolve the issue. Using iTunes to restore iOS devices is part of standard isolation troubleshooting. Restoring your device will delete all data and content, including songs, videos, contacts, photos, and calendar information, and will restore all settings to their factory condition.
Before restoring your iOS device, Apple recommends that you either sync with iTunes to transfer any purchases you have made, or back up new data (data acquired after your last sync). If you have movie rentals on the device, see iTunes Store movie rental usage rights in the United States before restoring.
Follow these steps to restore your device:
         1. Verify that you are using the latest version of iTunes before attempting to
             update.
         2. Connect your device to your computer.
         3. Select your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch when it appears in iTunes under Devices.
         4. Select the Summary tab.
         5. Select the Restore option.
         6. When prompted to back up your settings before restoring, select the Back Up
option (see in the image below). If you have just backed up the device, it is not
             necessary to create another.
         7. Select the Restore option when iTunes prompts you (as long as you've backed up,
you should not have to worry about restoring your iOS device).
         8. When the restore process has completed, the device restarts and displays the Apple
             logo while starting up:
After a restore, the iOS device displays the "Connect to iTunes" screen. For updating
to iOS 5 or later, follow the steps in the iOS Setup Assistant. For earlier versions of
iOS, keep your device connected until the "Connect to iTunes" screen goes away or
              you see "iPhone is activated."
         9. The final step is to restore your device from a previous backup.
If you can not restore your device then you will need to go to recovery mode.
Placing your device into recovery mode:
Follow these steps to place your iOS device into recovery mode. If your iOS device is already in recovery mode, you can proceed immediately to step 6.
         1. Disconnect the USB cable from the iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch, but leave the other end
of the cable connected to your computer's USB port.
         2. Turn off the device: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button for a few seconds until the
red slider appears, then slide the slider. Wait for the device to turn off.
If you cannot turn off the device using the slider, press and hold the Sleep/Wake
and Home buttons at the same time. When the device turns off, release the Sleep/Wake
              and Home buttons.
         3. While pressing and holding the Home button, reconnect the USB cable to the device.
The device should turn on. Note: If you see the screen pictured below, let the device
charge for at least ten minutes to ensure that the battery has some charge, and then
             start with step 2 again.
         4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen.
When this screen appears you can release the Home button.
         5. If necessary, open iTunes. You should see the following "recovery mode" alert:
         6. Use iTunes to restore the device.
If you don't see the "Connect to iTunes" screen, try these steps again. If you see the "Connect to iTunes" screen but the device does not appear in iTunes, see this article and its related links.
    Additional Information:
Note: When using recovery mode, you can only restore the device. All user content on the device will be erased, but if you had previously synced with iTunes on this computer, you can restore from a previous backup. See this article for more information.

  • Cannot connect to itunes store ipod touch via router

I am new to Ipod ownership and so far its been a good experience.
I have been searching on the web but not been able to find a solution to my problem.
The issue I have is that recently I cannot download apps from the app store via my home router. I can search the internet etc using it but when I click to install an app I get the message that says "Cannot connect to iTunes Store". I have tried to use a different wireless router (my mobile phone acting as a hotspot) and do not get the same message.
I assume therefore that there is some issue between the router (a netgear WGR614) and the ipod. The annoying thing is that I could do it earlier in the week.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks

Two things to try.  Please reply with what works.
1: Turn on Airplane mode, then turn it off again.  This resets internet related settings.
    Does it work?
2:  Changing the DNS in Setting, Wi-Fi, DHCP tab, DNS , replace with 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 8.8.4.4 (Google)
    Does it work?
