Ios8 copy and paste / Digital AV Cable / internet dropping and other bugs!

hello -
so like everyone else else there is a number of bugs I am running into. so here's my list- Yes I've tried to restore, so I am praying that the ios8 update will contain these fixes:
- copy and paste doesn't work between applications- but it's sporadic! (issue originally found when copying from a webpage to an email, then into notes from another webpage)
- my Apple lighting to digital AV cable doesn't "read/transfer" to the TV
- internet randomly drops for a few seconds to minutes for no apparent reason the it being an iPhone 6
- Facebook and other internet heavy apps like Associated Press are extremely lagging or give me an error unable to connect to server
- randomly freezes while taking pictures or taking notes- it won't even let me shut down
- voicemail set up doesn't work
I am sure there are more bugs but haven't seen them or I've forgotten about them! If anyone else has these problems please check the box that you do have the same issue. Also any known resolutions would be appreciated!

Do you mean folder? Inside or outside iPhoto?
I'm trying to copy photos to a Sony Digital Photo Frame.
Select the photos you want to use.
Export them to a folder on the Desktop. File -> Export
Add that to the device.

Aperture cannot import anything from iPhoto and other bugs!!

Aperture is buggy. Recently, I just updated Mac OS X to 10.4.5 and also updated iLife 06. Now I cannot import anything from iPhoto. I tried import images from iphoto or import iphoto library, both not working. I can import images from other directories but jut could not see anything display under iphoto library directory. Trying to use import iphoto library, click choose and then nothing happens.
If you create a smart web gallery, all photos will be automatically duplicated.

I used Pacifist.app to find iPhoto in the iLife '06 install package and then installed the app in the default location replacing the bundle that was there.
the normal method gave me an install error.

I was going nuts trying. I have 6 iphoto libraries with 30,000 photos in total and some would import fine and others would not. couldn't tell the difference between them and had forgotten the update. just got a new iMac intel and wasn't paying attention. Causality

UP Didgital Copy and other digital copies are not working...

I have a question about friend of mines PC.
I am not PC guy so have no idea.
He just updated his iTunes to 9.02 then he redeem his code for movie UP.
He tried to play it but kept telling him that he is not authorized to transfer the iPod touch or playing..... Also now he is unable to play his old movie that he had on library.
So please help! I was going to converting him to Mac and it was so close now he goes "Mac people and Windows people are not get along... I know you out there and help us out. Thanks!

No wireless Internet after updating to iOS 4.3.3 and other bugs

Hello,
Yesterday I updated my iPhone 4 to the latest version (4.3.3), and have noticed that the network is only showing EDGE (E icon) eventhough 3G is enabled. Before this 3G internet was working fine. I checked the APN settings, and they haven't changed. Are any of you guys having the same problem?
Besides that, today, for no apparent reason, while my phone was ringing, the display turned off, and the iPhone wasn't turning on (black screen), and I had to restart the iPhone to get it working again.
Are this issues related to the update?
Maybe I shouldn't update, but ****, if Apple puts an update over the internet it's because they've tested it and because it's supposed to be better than the Firmware you're actually running, isn't it?

Some iPhones just randomly die... you can see if at&t will examine the phone if not, take it to your local Apple Authorized repair center (call Apple to locate a repair center)

IOS8 sync and other related issues

So far, I am not very impressed with the latest iOS8 software update for iPhone and iPad. There seems to be a definitive inability to sync data between my Iphone5s and 32G iPad ii. This applies to both Apple and third party apps. For instance, PDFs are not syncing between the two devices within iBooks. Several individuals have commented that photos are not syncing - I am having the same issue. Some third party apps are also unable to sync between devices. MSecure is one of these. I have sent notes to make urge tech support, and have not received a response. In short, there seems to be something very wrong with ios8 Based on the number of comments being posted. I sincerely hope this gets fixed soon as it puts the dependability of iCloud and syncing between multiple devices in jeopardy. For what it's worth, I had no issues with sun functionality prior to the update.

Digital Cinema Desktop Preview, keyboard layout and other bugs - Leopard

I just reinstalled my Mac Pro because I hoped it would fix some bugs... but no luck. Digital cinema desktop preview (dcdp) was working just fine until I installed the Aja Kona Lhe software, afterwards only dcdp for the main display was working, both dcdp and dcdp "full screen" have disappeared. The other things I was hoping 10.5.2 would fix are the problem FCP cannot remember the keyboard layout I use (azerty-belgium) - every time I start the program I have to choose the layout again - and the fact I cannot export using compressor straight from FCP using qmaster: Final cut pro generated an error! (this has never worked)
If you are having the same problems as I do, maybe we should compare hardware to see what we have in common that could be causing this problem. As I have found during my searches, some computers have similar problems, others don't, sometimes it also matters if you've upgraded from Tiger of did a clean install, where upgrading it seems (yes really!!) gives the least problems...
I really hope there will be a bugfix soon, because I'm sure I'm not the only one having these problems... or maybe I should just install Tiger and upgrade...???

I vote for going back to Tiger. That is known to be stable. Leopard and FCP is unpredictable at the moment.

I've had some issues with Captivate, v1 and 2, but nowhere
near the
degree to what you've described. My sympathies!
It sounds like your CP files were corrupted somehow with that
extent of
problems. Are your project files on a network location? If
so, move them
all local! I develop from a network drive a lot but if
problems ever
start popping up, the first thing I do is move the source to
my local drive.
If I continue having odd problems, I create new Captivate
files by either,
1) opening the current project, copy all slides, close the
project,
create a new project, and paste.
2) create a new project and Import all the (relevant) slides
from the
previous version of the file.
Either of those processes almost always clear up any
anomalous behavior,
except maybe file size bloat...
To deal with file size bloat alone, I've found doing a Save
As..., then
a Save As... again often helps reduce file sizes. How weird
is that...
Not having used CP3 yet, I don't know if any of these issues
have been
addressed. I've found CP2 to open/save/close projects a LOT
quicker than
CP1. I think in your case, if your files are really 1gb, that
can
directly explain the 15 minute opening process.

Audio and other Bugs in 2.0 - are they fixed in 3.0?

I just completed creating an e-learning course using
Captivate 2.0 that used quite a lot of graphics and video. The
numbers of bugs I experienced when publishing to Flash in 2.0 were
so substantial that the delivery date had to be delayed almost two
months, much to the unhappiness of the client. I'll list the most
frustrating problems and hopefully someone can tell me if these
issues were fixed in 3.0. It's difficult for me to justify an
upgrade if I'm going to run into the same horrible problems.
I will start out by stating that I keep my project files
under 20 slides and all the slides have audio. The slides are 800 x
500 and none of the animations/video I'm using are more than 20
secs long. I'm running Captivate 2.0 on a Dell laptop with an Intel
Core 2 Duo, running Windows XP (with all the updates) and with 1 GB
of RAM. I've upped my Virtual Memory to 5 GB. My machine meets all
the specifications listed for Captivate 2.0, but I suspect that one
really needs a much faster machine with a lot more memory to work
at anything other than a snail's pace. I also make sure that no
unused graphics or animations are left in a project's library and I
defrag my hard drive at least once a day (if I don't Captivate
crashes everytime I try and open or save a file).
Problems:
- It takes up to 15 minutes to open or close a file. It
doesn't matter how big the file is. And the more files I open and
close in Captivate in any session, the slower my machine gets and I
evenutally have to restart it. It also takes 10-15 minutes to save
some of my project files, whose sizes have ballooned for no reason
(see below). If Captivate crashes during the save or even right
after a file is saved, the file is corrupted and cannot be opened.
I've had to redo work two or three times because of this problem.
- A project file with 10 multiple choice quiz questions and
two other simple slides (and only one brief audio file) is over 1
GB in size. I can't have more than 10 quiz questions because the
file sizes get so large that the program crashes before I can save
the file. I also have a number of 3-slide projects with graphics,
no animations, and some audio that are over 1 GB in size. But then
I have 20-slide project files with a lot of video and graphics and
audio that never go above 200 MB. In fact, all my project file file
sizes seem enormous for no good reason. And it's not from orphan
files in the Library. It's going to take like 10 DVDs to turn over
all my project files (about 40 project files - all under 20 slides
each) to the client. It's ridiculous!
- If I import audio as a WAV file and then publish the
project to Flash, the audio either moves to different slides or one
audio file gets repeated in all the slides. The only way to fix
this is to convert all the .WAV files to .MP3 files (but at a very
low bit rate), delete all the old WAV files from the project, and
replace them with the MP3 files. Using a WAV file always leads to
major audio scrambling when I publish to Flash.
- If I use a .MP3 audio file with a higher bit rate, when I
publish to Flash, the audio is slowed down by about 50%.
- Graphics fail to show up in the .SWF file after a publish
to Flash. This is entirely random and different graphics are
affected each publish, so I never know what the published file will
look like.The only way to fix this is to go back to the Project
file, double click on the graphic and make a change to one of the
options, save the change, reopen the graphic and change the option
back to the one you started with. Then cross your fingers that
another graphic won't vanish during the Publish process.
- Objects that I have fading in and out on the timeline work
perfectly in the project file, but when they are published as Flash
output, the timings are all off by up to 15 seconds. This happens
on a couple of slides and I can find no explanation or way to fix
this. And it's completely random. One publish may have the timings
out of whack and the next one has the timings correct.
- Adding any animation to a project file causes all drop-down
menus to stop functioning. I see from other posts that I just need
to click on an object in the Library. Wish I had known about that
sooner. I ended up restarting Captivate a lot.
- After closing Captivate, it takes 15 minutes or more before
my machine works at anything like it's normal speed. If I try to
shut down my machine right after closing Captivate, I get an error
message telling me Captivate is still running. It appears that
Captivate does not release memory after it is closed. I have to
restart my machine everytime I close Captivate just so I can
continue working in other applications normally.
These are just the major problems which caused the most
headaches and delays. Most of it seems to be the VERY buggy publish
to Flash option and some problems with releasing memory.
I know a lot of other people have experienced these problems,
as I've read about them in other posts. Has Capitvate 3 fixed any
of these issues? There is no way I'd ever attempt another
e-learining project with Captivate 2. This one about killed me.

Thanks to everyone who has responded and tried to help.
Unfortunately, none of suggestions have worked.
Here's the update:
- All my files are local, so the business about working on
network drives is not applicable.
- I tried the Save As option to try and decrease my huge file
sizes as suggested by a couple of people. I did a Save As to
another file name, then deleted the original file and did another
Save As from the renamed file back to the original file name. My
file sizes INCREASED each time I saved. I now have a 12 slide
projects file with multiple choice quiz questions, no video,
minimal graphics and audio that tops out over 1.1 GB.
- I can't copy slides from one file to a new file because the
file I want to copy slides from is so large that Captivate crashes
everytime I try to Import slides from another project.
- No one has mentioned anything about all the bizarre, random
things that happen to graphics and audio when you publish to Flash.
This is by far the most frustrating aspects of working with
Captivate 2.0 - there is no telling what will turn up in your .SWF
file and whether the audio will be on the correct slide. I've seen
several posts about the problems using WAV files for audio or about
MP3 files being slowed down in the SWF files but no one can say if
these problems have been fixed in 3.0. Likewise the disappearing
graphics and the inexplicable timeline delays when publishing from
my Project file to an SWF file. And now a new one has popped up: in
the SWF file, the screen size suddenly gets smaller on several
slides, then goes back to normal!
- It sounds like I need a lot more memory and faster machine
(despite Adobe stating that my machine should be adequate to use
Captivate) to deal with the slow performance, constant crashing,
and frequent corrupted files. But this can't possibly explain the
extreme file bloat and all the Publish errors when creating SWF
files.
At this point there's no way I can upgrade to 3.0 because of
all the problems with 2.0. I can't make a justification to my boss
to spend more money on a software program that (from his
perspective and mine) does not work as advertised and has impacted
this project so dramatically.
It sounds like I'm the only Captivate user who is
experiencing these difficulties, which is really perplexing and
bizarre. Perhaps Captivate and Dell laptops are not compatible? I
sure do wish that Captivate had a Mac version. At least there
wouldn't be the usual Windows software excuse of "it must be your
machine."
Sigh... I sure did want to like Captivate, but everytime I
open the program I get the hebbie jebbies, expecting some new
disaster to befall me.

Nokia 701 menu button not working and other bugs

I have a "brand new" 701 with 111.020.0307 that won't update to 111.030.0609 because I'm in Italy .
Now I have a really annoying bug: the menu key, sometimes, stops working and won't bring up the menu if pressed briefly, and won't bring up the task list either (when pressed long).
Anyone experiencing this bug? The only way I found to make it work again is turn off and on again my phone... And the task list can't be found in menus, AFAIK. I could do that with my old 5800XM...
I bought my phone ONE WEEK ago... I really wouldn't like to format/reinstall already! Ideas?

soft reset may solve it. Look in settings and phone management.
Dont have to do a hard reset first. After soft reset, try reinstall the latest firmware through nokia suite if soft reset didnt solve your problem..
I have 701 and I am impressed overall with the device. Actually... I am very pleased with it.

Problems with animations using key frames and other bugs

To me, the current version of Acrobat 3D Toolkit (7.0.7) seems like a beta version -- unfortunately I payed the full price. Or maybe there are a few settings only set wrong on my system and someone can tell me how to correct this ...

Why is there no properties panel visible all the time, displaying the properties of the selected object and allowing to change properties (e.g. positions, angles etc.)?
Why is it impossible to view different trees at the same time (e.g. scene tree and animation tree)?
Why is it impossible to have different models open simultaneously? (E.g. to compare settings or even to copy properties/objects from one model to the other.)
Why is it impossible to create new folders in the scene tree? Imported folders are available, but for the scene management within Acrobat 3D I may have different requirements than the CAD designer had. (Also, I would like to put new objects in folders of my own.)
Why is tabbing not supported more extensively? E.g. All the different trees (Folders, Scene Tree, ...) could all be put into a single tabbed panel saving valuable space on my screen but still giving easy access to all items.
Why is there no Undo for camera position changes?
Why is there no Undo for material edits (e.g. applying a new material to an object)?
Why is it only possible to animate object movements, not the making visible/invisible of objects and changes of the camera position?
Why is it impossible to save object selections? Within a larger model it always is a lot of clicking to get the view required for certain actions.
Why are there a lot of different Display options available on-screen but when a scene is rendered into a file, Acrobat 3D uses the same display option all the time (i.e. Solid)?
Probably this list could be extended quite heavily. And some of these missing things may be time intensive to realize (and saved for future versions), others are comparably basics now-a-days.

I agree with the "beta" feel of the 3D Toolkit. I have been very frustrated getting animation to work well. Specifically, I made an animation that plays in Toolkit, imports and plays into Acrobat 3D, but does not play in Reader. It displays 3D and rotates, etc., but I cannot get the animaiton to play.
The contextural menu issue you see I see also. The menu appears, but without the "add Key Frame" item. I find that if I select an object, move it a bit, move it back, then the menu will appear. (at least sometimes I think) Pretty frustrating.

Palm Pre - Email and Other Bugs/Issues For Future Updates

Great phone overall, and glad to see there is a support community. Couple things I noticed that I wondered if other users know of fixes to:
- All emails lose line breaks, in that all previous replies are smooshed into one long run on sentence including title block
- Email notifications don't disappear when action is taken on PC
- Be able to delete emails and contacts from the phone without deleting from PC
Other issues not e-mail related, but not sure which forum to post under:
- Cut and paste shortcuts with launcher button don't work (which is why I had to retype all this)
- Cut and paste doesn't work on text you didn't type such as web content
- Add URL entry box to browser menu, or a button for it directly on screen (similar to back button)
- Alarm clock set for weekdays doesn't shut off on weekend
- Snooze and dismiss buttons should be moved further apart
- Alarm clock made part of online backup (late for work the next day when I exchanged my phone)
And most importantly:
- Use cattle prod to get Adobe to release FREE Flash plugin app for browser and make sure to beat Apple to it!

#1 should be to fix the "Next Sync in 0 Minutes" bug with the email. I have the issue and tried everything under the sun so far to fix it. I'll be calling palm tomorrow to see what they can do, however in my research I have found dozens of people posting this issue online, and there are only temporary fixes that work for one sync.

Firefox unable to open Google, Facebook and other bugs.

As of around 1 week ago, I can no longer access facebook, any mozilla/google related page however I can still access the google search engine by entering the 197.1.1 code thing (not very pc literate).
My problem is whenever I type google.com or facebook.com into the url, nothing actually happens, the url looks like it seeking than it just revert back to whatever url I was on before. I can access youtube but the comments section is just loading but thing actually shows up. If I try to open firefox help page a new window would open but it is just blank even though I can see the see the address in the url. I can however open trouble shooting page and about firefox but none of the others page in the help option.
I have tried reverting firefox to default and restart firefox with no addon without any changes. I have tried ipconfig /flushdns and also resetting my host file from mrfixit as well as scanning for malware from malbytes, adaware and spybot and none of them made a difference at all.
I am currently using firefox 26, OS Windows 7 64bit.

Flash Wont Display and other bugs

As far as the flash thing is concerned i am going to try installing flash 7/8 as i believe that flash 9 does'nt work with the latest safari.
However i also have another problem, on the same page that the flash objects don't display there are small diamonds with question marks inside the diamond throughout my script. For instance the £ sign is replaced by one of these diamonds.
Any advice would be helpful although i have'nt installed flash 7/8 yet to see if this solves the flash object problem. apart from that im using the latest safari and flash.

whoops, my mistake, yes it does work fine. I have installed and uninstalled differnt versions of flash and shockwave all day today and most of yesterday.

Resume downloading and other bug

Hi ! everybody ! and sorry for my bad english.
i have a persistant problem with logic x
the first time i had this problem was when i started to used logic x on my imac i7, in july, it repeat t me often to download some sample file or sound bank for logic while I had already download all this files several time.
Then, he stopped asking me for a few weeks, and finally when i opened a song made on my macbook with logic x, it has started asking me to download some files because the files were missing!
So I downloaded, but the message appears again and again like the first time.
i know than i have downloaded all the files several times... so all it's ok but what is the problem?
i'm not the only one in this case, it's a bug no? update logic Please
at the release of logic there was a quick réaction from apple to fix several bug but and now almost nothing !!! hey ! there still a lot of bug in logic x and the réaction has disapeared...

Force close com.android.systemui and other bugs after update to 4.4.2 (A3500-H)

After update to 4.4.2:
-System gets force close when user rolls out statusbar (this in right side with shortcuts) then rotates the device in home screen (launcher),
-Statusbar is not transparent in custom launchers (eg. Nova Launcher which supports this function)
-Default e-mail app doesn't update IMAP e-mail list (on demand, auto update works good) I tested tlen.pl provider
-Button to change lock screen wallpaper doesn't work
