Ios8 deleted shortcuts

Updated to IOS8 today.  All of my keyboard shortcuts are now gone.  Would love to get them back.  I know they're backed up because if I add one on my iphone it always shows up on my ipad and visa versa.  But they have not been restored yet after about 5 hours since I upgraded my phone to IOS8.  I have not upgraded my ipad yet.  I must be missing a setting somewhere in IOS8.

Since the shortcuts are shared between devices via appleid... they must be stored in iCloud...
Lots of discussion here:

  • Command+Delete Shortcut!

    Hello,
I have noticed that the command+delete shortcut does not work on Mac OS Server, is this a normal behavior or is it just my system. Is there a way to set it up?
Appreciate any help on this matter.

    Thank you for your response!
I do not have thirdparty software, I am aware of, that is over-riding short-cut commands in the system. Regarding the system preferences, are you refering to "Keyboard Shortcuts?"
As far as I know, the "Keyboard Shortcut" pereferences does not have an option for Move to Trash to tamper with? However, under the File menu, in Finder, I see that the move to Trash action has the correct shortcut, command+delete. Unless I am missing something here, I am not sure where else to look for such preferences. This is really annoying!
I hope there is away to reset it!!!!

  • Deleted shortcuts reappearing

Are there any fixes for deleted shortcuts that keep reappearing yet?

I'm having this same problem.  Delete them...doesn't matter....minutes later they're back. Two devices doing this.

  • Deleted shortcuts keep returning

When Yosemite 10.10.0 was released I used the option to create text shortcuts. I did not like using them and I deleted all of them. Now, every time there is a software update these supposedly deleted shortcuts reappear. They also reappear on my IOS devices. I have to conclude this has something to do with iCloud, but I can't  find anything in the iCloud settings that allows me to delete the shortcuts there. I currently am using Yosemite 10.10.3.
I googled the problem, and found several other users with the exact same issue, so I am surprised I am the first here to ask if anyone has an idea how to fix the problem once and for all. Thanks in advance for any help!

Really? No one else is seeing this?
It just happened again. An email from my mom resurrected my "Family" folder on my iPhone, when the rules set up in Mountain Lion clearly show it should've been filed under "People."
I even deleted all my old rules and recreated them based on my new folder structure. It seems somewhere, my old rules are still in play.
    Ideas?

  • Command   Delete shortcut not working

When I try to send files to the trash from Finder, the Command & Delete button combo that usually work, refuse to work now. Does anyone have any idea on how to get this working again? If i click on the file, i can manually move it to the trash. Just a pain because I need to delete files rather frequently. Thanks!

Was having the same problem and this fixed it.
Go to System Preferences>Keyboard and Mouse>Keyboard Shortcuts and click the "Restore Defaults" button. Worked for me!
    Best,

  • GPP delete shortcuts startmenu etc

I would like to delete some shortcuts in the all users startmenu and some shortcuts on the desktop for the user and also shortcuts in the taskbar for several users.
Tried to make a computer group policy preference for the startmenu but the shortcuts in the start menu are not deleted. %SystemDrive%\programdata\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\microsoft office\microsoft office Access 2003 and several others like
    microsoft office  infopath 2003 etc.
Also in the startmenu is a folder beneath the microsoft office like microsoft office-helpprograms, this musts be deleted thru folder delete, must it be empty then?
Why are the shortcuts not deleted, must it be done in a user gpp? The shortcuts are in the programdata so in the all users startmenu...
And the desktop shortcuts must can this be done in the same gpp, must the .lnk be added?
And the thrird is the hardest proberly: a shortcut in the quick taskbar thru gpp delete..

Is your GPO applied at all?

No, doesn't need to be empty.

It doesn't matter as long as "run in logged on users context" isn't
checked. BTW: Press "F3" in the path field to select predefined system
    variables.

Can be the same. If you use the "Files" extension, .lnk must be added.
If you use the "Shortcuts" extension, then not.

Cannot be done through GPO/GPP, this requires a script. Lots of links in
    this forum, AFAIR.

  • E-mail delete shortcuts?

I'm finding the number of touches slowing me down when I'm deleting e-mails on my new z10.  I've been using an iPhone 4 for a while and decided to switch because I'm tired of the unbelievably poor experience I have with iOS devices in a corporate environment - don't get me started on how bad calendar management works on an iOS device!
Anyway, I've ready about how to do multi-selections and then deleting a group of e-mail, but the way I typically process e-mail is to look at the e-mail and then delete it if I don't need to keep it, so multi-select doesn't work so well.  The way I'm used to doing this is looking at an e-mail, deleting it and then the e-mail client typically goes to the previous or next e-mail so i can delete the next one.
On the z10, I have to touch the e-mail, then touch the over-flow icon, then touch the delete icon and then it takes me back to the e-mail list where I have to touch the next e-mail, touch the over-flow icon, touch the delete icon, etc..it takes me 3x the number of touches to delete e-mails individually.
Are there any shortcuts to delete an e-mail without using the overflow menu first?  If not, there should be!  Or at least an option to go to the next email after deleting - then I'd only have 2x the number of touches instead of 3x...!
    Thanks.

Best way to delete emails, is to Select and hold an email then select more and select all your emails you want to delete in one shot. Also if you want to delete or mark all emails as read, Click and hold the date above the email, a slider appears on the top right to delete all or mark all read.

  • HT203768 iPad air ios8 deletes mail in inbox every few days.

IiPad air ios8.1.2 deletes inbox email every few days.

Some where along the lne the Mail app changed from hom many emails you could keep to the lenght of sync, it's been this way at least since IOS 6. It's normal, to free up room on your iPad. Remember just because a email auto-deletes it's not gone, it's just not on your iPad. You can go to your email account onlne to see how many email you have. You can also use the search field if you also know the name. if you live near an Apple Store it might be a good time to stop in and find out why you don't have the option to change the sync amount.

Take alook at Step #12 of this TechNote:
    http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/405/kb405604.html#main_user_config
Start by deleting the configuration/Menus/Cache folder.
If that doesn't fix it, then try deleting the entire configuration folder

  • Attempting to delete shortcuts in a specific directory

    PowershellGet-ChildItem $startMenu -include *.lnk| Remove-Item
i have not tested this at all, so you get to est it somewhere safe :)
M Boyle, is also correct, you do not need the foreach, you can pipe it directly to Remove-Item. With a lot of items to process doing it that we will actually be much better on performance/speed. foreach is slow.

Found time to fiddle with a powershell script again and have run into an issue. I am a marketing guy fiddling with powershell, so please be gentle!I am attempting to remove only the shortcuts in a directory but am not having a lot of luck.Powershell#Clear out previous contents of "$env:appdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu"$startMenu = "$env:appdata\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu"Get-ChildItem $startMenu -Include *.lnk| foreach ($_) {Remove-Item $_.FullName}This code works if i remove "-Include *.lnk" from the line, but then it asks if i also want to remove the "Programs" folder, which i don't. Is there a different way to ask for only the shortcuts in the directory?Ill add that the reason i want to remove these shortcuts is that the rest of the script pushes a bunch of shortcuts INTO this folder and i wanted to ensure any old shortcuts...

That sounds like normal Windows behavior to me.
