IOS8 handoff doesn't work

iPhone 5S / iPad Air, iOS8 handoff doesn't work. I can't see and continue to work with no Apps either on iPhone nor on iPad. All "handoff-options" are <on> on each device.
Any ideas?

Email handoff doesn't work if started from picture roll

Handoff from email works fine if I start in the email app on my iPhone, start to draft an email, insert pictures, and then switch to my mac pro; however, if I start in my camera roll and select a couple of pictures, then choose to email them---the auto generated email won't show up on my Mac for handoff. Just an oddity that I noticed. Not sure if others are having that issue as well.

Click/hold and drag the iChat icon out of the dock, then trash the iChat alias on the desktop.
Now go to the Apps folder and drag iChat to the dock.

Handoff doesn't work

I have iOS 8 with Yosemite on my Mac all setup with the same iCloud account. The only thing of Handoff/Continuity that work is the phone. Does anyone know how can I activate the others? Or is it this for everyone?

I have this same problem. I've checked and rechecked all the settings on my iPhone 6 and mid 2012 MacBook Pro. Calling features work fine. But not the handoff continuity part. Strangely, on the same wifi network, everything works fine for my daughter with her iPhone 6 and late 2012 Macbook Pro. As far as I can tell my slightly older mid 2012 MBP should work.

Just updated the software 8.1 to iPhone 5s and iPocket Viewer doesn´t work anymore. It works with WiFi but not in 3G. Have anyone noticed this problem?

Messages handoff still doesn't work in 8.1

This was a problem in 8.0.x: I can start typing a message on my iPhone 5S or my MacBook Pro, and the handoff indicator will appear on the respective device, which, upon being clicked, will launch Messages. However, the text that I'm typing is *never* filled in!
Anyone else?

I spent some time on the phone with Apple tech support, and apparently this is expected behavior -- handoff doesn't work with Messages at this time.

TS3367 facetime doesn't work well after upgrading to ios8. I need to make a call several times to connect.

When I make a facetime call, it doesn't sound some times on the other side.
When it rings on the other side and is answered, it says (connecting), but it is still ringing on my side and never connected.
After that, I disconnect and make a second call, it sometimes connects, but not everytime.
I need to call several times to connect. It is really hard to connect through facetime after upgrading to ios8.
I purchased three iPad so far because of this good feature (facetime).
Please fix this issue as soon as possible.

Hi,
There are two easy fixes to this.
One, you can set up Family Sharing, in which you can have two different iCloud Accounts, yet still share the same apps, music, media etc.
Two, go to Settings and turn-off "Handoff". This can be found under the General page.

Actually the Licensing information for the package is missing hence it is not launching any applications. You need to Reserialize the products using APTEE which you can find it on the Machine where you have created the package. If you dont have the access to that Machine then please download and install Creative Cloud Packager and it will download APTEE in the below mentioned location.

Once downloaded please follow this KB article to use the Tool.

ssince I updated my iPhone 5s to ios8 ive had nothing but problems...
first the the screen rotation is not working... Checked the settings and lock is off.... The wifi is intermittent, some times it works sometimes it doesn't....
the he iPhone is really slow now, like really labouring.... It hangs and crashes all the time.... I have to close apps down completely because they won't work from quick launch anymore.... Even writing this the phone is labouring.... It's like my old 48k spectrum.... I don't expect this from Apple and when you spend £400-500 on a phone you expect it to work and play propperly.... come on Apple you need to sort out this mess of a update.... Ios 7 was no bother......

Same issue here... iphone5S 64GB. It's intermittent. Sometimes the rotation works fine, sometimes it doesn't, but most of the time it doesn't work.
The first time I figured out it wasn't working was when all newly-taken photos and videos were showing up in portrait mode though I always hold in landscape mode when photographing.
Rotation lock is disabled (tried toggling it on and off). Tried recalibrating the compass on a whim, no effect (although my compass seems to always require calibration when it's launched now).
This issue only started happening after upgrading to iOS8. I did a reset/restore through iTunes rather than an OTA upgrade.
UPDATE - power-cycling the phone seems to fix it temporarily.

Handoff from Mac to iPhone doesn't work

Although I can get handoff to work pretty reliably for some applications, and although handoff works well enough from my iPhone to the Mac, I cannot get any application to handoff to iOS 8.1 on my iPhone 6 from my Mac.
Here is a test of Maps (but it is the same for all applications):
What works:     Maps on the iPhone 6 can handoff to iPad and Mac
                         Maps on iPad Air can handoff to iPhone and Mac
                         Maps on Mac can handoff to iPad Air
Doesn't work:     Maps on Mac cannot handoff to iPhone 6
Any ideas why I am having this problem?
Handoff is set to ON for all functions in settings on the iPhone.
I have tried resetting the phone - no deal. Both iOS devices are running 8.1

Here is what I did to solve the problem. It's quite simple but as I said before, it's the thing I hate the most.
- First, sign out of iCloud in every single device, selecting the Delete option every time you are asked;
- Second, turn off all devices.
With all devices out of iCloud and turned off, start going the opposite way, one by one. For example:
- Turn MacBook back on and sign in to iCloud;
- Turn iPhone back on and sign in to iCloud;
- Turn iPad back on and sign in to iCloud;
- Turn Mac Mini back on and sign in to iCloud.

You're in luck, a non-unibody! At least keycaps can be found for those, cause when it happens to a unibody, you had better have AppleCare!
Anyway, the keycaps on your model have a little white plastic "scissor" that gives the up/down motion and feel. If it won't click back in place, that part may have broken. Take a look in PowerBookMedic.com for a replacement. They may even have a how-to video too.

Original Lightning cable doesn't work

Hi , first of all sorry for my bad english.
I bought an original Lightning cable with the apple logo and all the stuff printed on the box, but when I tried on my phone it doesn't work. And a pop-up appear with the text: "the accessory may not be certified" or something like that. But this can not be possible because I bought it on a original apple store.
So then I plugged it in to another iOS device and it works with this devices!, maybe someone is thinking: 'oh is dirt in the Lightning connector on the iphone'. But that was the first thing I checked and it is ok, no dirt, no humidity no nothing.
The most bizarre of all is that a friend give me his original lightning cable (the one who came with his iPhone) and it works on my phone!
I've tried with other original cables such as one from an iPad for example and it works too.
So I went to the Apple Store where I bought the cable and they changed it for a new one, and surprise... it doesn't work. So what I can do? Looks like I'm not able to use other lightning cable who has not came with the original iDevice. I suspect is something with the iOS system, but I have resetted, and updated to iOS 8.2 and nothing. I've tried many things, and I don't know what else I can do. I'm really disappointed of apple this time, also I'm surprise with the worldwide problem of the quikly battery draining on iOS8, and apple fall on deaf ears with this

Unless you have one of those pad that claim to charge by laying a device on, you're out of luck until you get a new cable (assuming the cablie is at fault). If you know anyone with a new IP5, you should plug the cable into it and see if it charges their phone. If so, there is sometihing wrong with your phone.
Re the Apple store, you can order a cable online for home shipment. Also, keep checking eBay. I'm sure the Hong Kong guys are working 24/7 to build a supply of knockoff cables.

Paste from powerpoint doesn't work

Hi,
I'm working between powerpoint and pages. I'm trying to copy pictures from a powerpoint and paste them into my pages document. I've tried using the menu options to copy and paste and it still doesn't work. If i copy a google image and paste into pages it works. When I try copy and pasting text from the powerpoint to pages it works. the problem is solely w/ pictures.
note that I've tried this on my iMac same pictures same versions of pages (newest 5.5.1) and powerpoint (2011, 14.3.9)
please help.

IOS 8.2 and Airplay doesn't work

iOS 8.1 never had any issues with Airplay. I connect to a Airport Express (2nd Gen-7.6.4) that had the mini jack (2.5mm) that I run to my mixer to play break and intermission music at gigs. Now it doesn't work at all since updating to iOS 8.2 which BTW, was suppose to fix intermittent issues with Airplay which I never had under 8.1. What is going on with Apple QC?

Unfortunately, this didn't do it. There has to be something in the Apple iOS SDK that has been changed. Seems like some 3rd party apps that utilize Airplay work and other that use to work, don't. I use an app called Master Fader which is an app for controlling my Mackie live sound mixer from the other side of the room. I connect to an Apple Airport Express which has the mini jack connecting to a stereo channel on my mixing board. Mackie claims that they don't Airplay features at all in their app, so it shouldn't affect Airplay from other apps (i.e. Apple Music), however it does. Doesn't matter whether it's running in the background or foreground. The Airport Express disappears from the dropdown list and only the iPad appears as an option. I'm convinced that there is something changes in the SDK for iOS8 on the way it calls Airplay. Maybe an older SDK (i.e. 7x) handled Airplay differently and apps that were compiled using an earlier version of the SDK aren't affected. Are there any developers out there that can confirm that. Are there any developers who want to shine some light on this matter?
