Ios8 iPhone6 App Store icons no longer displayed

Hello, on my iPhone 6 and iOS 8.1.1 since 01DEC2014 I see the followi problem:
When updating my apps in the App Store I no longer see the app's icon and all related fotos within the updated app.
The app is updated and works fine.
All apps updated before 01DEC2014 are displayed properly in the App Store.
On my iPad running on iOS 8.1.1 everything is fine, too.
any ideas
Thanks
Michael

Problem solved. Reason was the usage of app 'weblock' which is to to be used to block ads.
Once I deactivated weblock everything is fine again.

    Saw this on another post.
Applecare Senior Advisor Txx Bxxx (I have his contact info in an email he just sent) just confirmed with me that the problem people are having with the App Store not loading is an apple issue with there servers, ITS NOT YOUR IPAD so don't go restoring it!   It's not happening to everyone however but they are looking into it, its really hit or miss.

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.
This works for some users. Not sure why.
Go to Settings>General>Date and Time> Set Automatically>Off. Set the date ahead by about a year. Then see if you can connect to the store.

  • Since IOS8 update App Store Icon gone

Since upgrading to IOS8 (including the new fix that I got this morning), the App Store Icon is gone as is my ITunes Icon.
I have a music icon.  Is this a problem of IOS8 or does it have something to do with Family Sharing or iCloud?

Thank you thank you thank you.  I have them back now.   Interesting enough I went to the Apple Store today and two people couldn't figure it out so they scheduled me an appointment for tomorrow for one of the technicians.  Now I can cancel that…. Thanks again.

  • App Store icon doesn't display pending updates (notifications)

I've noticed that with many of my friends, they get the notification on top of their App Store icon saying how many apps are pending updates. I do not get these notifications, unless I open the App Store application. If any apps have updates, let's say 3, when I close the app store, then I have the little 3 on top of the App store icon. how do I get these notification automatically without first opening the app store?

If you can't find it on any of your homescreens or app folders, and you can't find it via the spotlight search screen (pull down the centre of the home screen in iOS 7), then is it hidden by Settings > General > Restrictions > Installing Apps being set 'off' ?
If not then have you tried a reset to see if you can find it after the iPad has restarted ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

  • App Store reviews no longer displayed in reverse chronological order

When I search for an app in the app store and look at its customer reviews, they are in seemingly random order.  They always used to be displayed with the newest reviews at the top (reverse chronological order).  Now when I look at the customer reviews of the Google Maps app for example, the review listed first is from March 5, 2013.  A review from March 7, 2013 is posted below it.  I am sure there must be newer reviews than that for such a widely used app.  Today is May 17, 2013.  Why aren't the newest reviews displayed first anymore?

This is quite frusturating...I too prefer my reviews the old way.
I'm not sure how/why this change occured but as a developer who has used iOS7 beta, I can confirm that user reviews ARE back in reverse chronological order at least in this early first beta.
Doesn't really help now though :/

  • HT2534 I no longer have an App Store icon on my iPad

I no longer have an App Store icon on my iPad

    Check your restrictions
    Settings>General>Restrictions>Installing Apps

  • App store icon missing from iPhone display

App store icon is missing from my iPhone display. I don't know how to reintall it. I can't install any apps. I check setting/general/restriction is already off. Please help.

It cannot be deleted. If it's not restricted, it's on another screen or in a folder. If not found, try Settings > General > Reset > Reset Home Screen Layout

  • I have an iPad mini, 16GB, running on the 7.1.2 iOS system, my App Store icon is no longer on my home screen and neither is my iTunes Store icon. They are listed in my settings but I can't access any unless through other games, or songs on iPad.

I Have an iPad mini operating on 7.1.2 iOS. My App Store icon as well as my iTunes Store icon are missing from my home scree. They are still listed under my settings, but I can't access them unless it's through an app that already exists. Where can I go to reinstall these?  I use the same Apple ID on my iPhone 5c as well and they are on the iPhone, but I don't know how or why they just disappeared from my iPad and want to know how to get them back without having to reset my iPad and lose what I have on it. Thanks, Karla

Thanks so much! My grandaughters played games on the iPad over Xmas and one of their moms said shed restricted their access! Guess they forgot to enable again. Thank you again! Karla

  • Can not get App Store icon my Ipad front display

    Thanks for your support,
till i can not find out the App Store icon in my ipad home screen,
Check Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that you didn't disable installing apps.
    i check it On,
if i want to enter then need to enter passcode, but i do not know the passcode.
    please give me a solution.
then i try by Settings>General>Reset>Reset Home Screen Layout.
this ok, but in my ipad no icon for Apps Store.
    awaiting your confirmation reply.

I don't think you understand. You only needed to check restrictions in case you had been using restrictions. If you we're not using restrictions, then you could not have disabled installing of apps. There is no need to turn it on, IF it was turned on and you were not using it.
If you were not using restrictions and you reset the home screen layout, and neither of those worked for you, something is wrong. What you are saying doesn't make sense.

  • I no longer have the Apps Store Icon on my I pad, I did not delete it.  Can it me restored please?

My App Store Icon has disaooeared from my I pad, can it be restored please?

You can't delete it.  If you have restrictions set on your iPad, go to Settings>General>Restrictions and make sure that Installing Apps is set to On.  If it is and you still can't find the App Store app, swipe your screen to the right to bring up spotlight search, then search for App Store.  If it's inside a folder, the folder name will appear to the right of the app.

  • App store icon not working

Since recent update came through my app store icon has changed and no longer works.
The message that comes up reads - "App store quit unexpectedly" - and has rows of coding messages below it.
    One message states
    "Application Specific Information:
    abort() called
*** Terminating app due to uncaught exception 'NSImageCacheException', reason: 'Cannot lock focus on image <NSImage 0x100393170 Size={0, 0} Reps=(
)>, because it is size zero.'
*** Call stack at first throw:"
Looking at other reports from mac forums I believe the problem happened when I updated from OS X 10.6.6.
I downloaded the 10.6.6 Combo package and tried to install but a message comes up stating I cannot update to an earlier system as I am now on 10.6.8
Any suggestions. I am not  a techie person and dont want to reboot using start up disks as I may lose everything I have on laptop.
Also, do I need to have the app store working to purchase the new Lion OS.
I tried the suggestion of installing the 10.6.8 combo pack but still doesnt work

    Try this...
Open a Finder window. Select your Home folder in the Sidebar on the left. (it has a small house icon) then open the Library folder then the Caches folder then the com.apple.appstore folder.
Move the Cache.db file to the Trash.
    Restart your Mac.
    Try the App Store.
Apple - OS X Lion - Sign up to be notified when Lion is available.

  • App Store icon not on 1st generation iPod

My son's friend just got the first gen 8GB iPod touch. He doesn't have the App Store icon on his iPod touch. I know you have to have 2.0 but my question is shouldn't the touch have come with 2.0 on it already? Is it even possible to update the OS on a 1st gen iPod touch to anything 2.0 and up? Thanks.

The first-generation iPod touch would not have come with iOS 2.x, no. The original user would had to purchase and install it. iOS 2.x only was included with the second-generation iPod touches.
Check the OS on the iPod. I'd wager it's 1.x, in which case your son's friend will have to purchase the update to iOS 3.1 (the 2.x update was removed a long time ago now).
    Regards.

  • Just bought a used Oct '13 MacBook Pro and I can't sign into the App Store as it still displays the old owners user ID in the login box (in fixed grey text). Any ideas of how I what I could do? Thanks.

The first thing you should do with a second-hand computer is to erase the internal drive and install a clean copy of OS X. How you do that depends on the model, and on whether you already own another Mac. If you're not sure of the model, enter the serial number on this page. Then find the model on this page to see what OS version was originally installed.
    1. You don't own another Mac.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.4 or 10.5, you need a boxed and shrink-wrapped retail Snow Leopard (OS X 10.6) installation disc, which you can get from the Apple Store or a reputable reseller — not from eBay or anything of the kind. If the machine has less than 1 GB of memory, you'll need to add more in order to install 10.6. I suggest you install as much memory as it can take, according to the technical specifications.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.6, you need the installation media that came with it: gray installation discs, or a USB flash drive for some MacBook Air models. If you don't have the media, order replacements from Apple. A retail disc, or the gray discs from another model, will not work.
To boot from an optical disc or a flash drive, insert it, then reboot and hold down the C key at the startup chime. Release the key when you see the gray Apple logo on the screen.
If the machine shipped with OS X 10.7 or later, you don't need media. It should boot into Internet Recovery mode when you hold down the key combination option-command-R at the startup chime. Release the keys when you see a spinning globe.
    2. You do own another Mac.
If you already own another Mac that was upgraded in the App Store to the version of OS X that you want to install, and if the new Mac is compatible with it, then you can install it. Use Recovery Disk Assistant to create a bootable USB device and boot the new Mac from it by holding down the C key at the startup chime. You will need the Apple ID and password that you used to upgrade. Note that if your other Mac was never upgraded in the App Store, you can't use this method.
Once booted from the disc, the USB device, or Internet Recovery, launch Disk Utility and select the icon of the internal drive — not any of the volume icons nested beneath it. In the Partition tab, select the default options: a GUID partition table with one data volume in Mac OS Extended (Journaled) format. This operation will permanently remove all existing data on the drive, which is what you should do.
After partitioning, quit Disk Utility and run the OS X Installer. When the installation is done, the system will automatically reboot into the Setup Assistant, which will prompt you to transfer the data from another Mac, its backups, or from a Windows computer. If you have any data to transfer, this is usually the best time to do it.
You should then run Software Update and install all available system updates from Apple. If you want to upgrade to a major version of OS X newer than 10.6, get it from the Mac App Store. Note that you can't keep an upgraded version that was installed by the previous owner. He or she can't legally transfer it to you, and without the Apple ID you won't be able to update it in Software Update or reinstall, if that becomes necessary. The same goes for any App Store products that the previous owner installed — you have to repurchase them.
If the previous owner "accepted" the bundled iLife applications (iPhoto, iMovie, and Garage Band) in the App Store so that he or she could update them, then they're linked to that Apple ID and you won't be able to download them without buying them. Reportedly, Apple customer service has sometimes issued redemption codes for these apps to second owners who asked.
If the previous owner didn't deauthorize the computer in the iTunes Store under his Apple ID, you wont be able to  authorize it under your ID. In that case, contact iTunes Support.

  • I downloaded IOS6 and all my apps, including the App Store icon, disappeared. If I go to the Passport icon, there is an App Store button, but I have to search through all the apps to find the one I want  and then click on "Open" to use it.  Help!

I downloaded IOS6 and all of my app icons, including the App Store icon disappeared. Now to use an icon, I have to go to Passport and click on the App Store button at the bottom and search through all of the apps to find the one I want and then click on Open. There doesn't seem to be a way to delete the app and start over.

    Hey PlayerPS,
Thanks for the question, and welcome to Apple Support Communities.
It sounds like the application you are looking for is indeed still on your iPhone. You can confirm this by searching in the Spotlight Search for this application. It may have accidentally been moved to a folder, or an additional Home screen:

settigns>itunes and app store to make sure you are signed in.. If  you are, you will see your account name..... anyhow, click your account name, sign out and sign back in
also go to to settings>general>reset and reset network settings... if that doesnt work settings>general>reset and reset all settings!
one of those shall work. The last step would be to restore your device (apple.com/support) HT1414
