Ios8 iphoto- photo mess ipad mini

after updating ios7 to ios8 on ipad mini i did the mistake to migrate my iphoto to photo
the migration got stuck and now i can't open my photos anymore on my ipad mini
i hoped that the update 8.0.2 would fix the problem but nothing happened.
i can't open my photos on my ipad mini. i can access the photos from whichever app, but not from the photo app.
suggestions like to format the ipad mini.. well i want a fix for that.
maybe is there a way to reset just the photo app? this would stop the migration process from iphoto
btw.. i deleted iphoto from my ipad mini, but this obviously did not stop the migration process
i used an app like kruptos.. it did not help anyway
i did not the same mistake on my iphone5.. i just delete iphoto from it.

You reinstall by restoring your iPad.
The best way would be by connecting it to a computer and to restore from iTunes as described in the link I posted above:  First make the backup to iTunes, then restore. This will reinstall the iOS:

How can I view dSLR photos on iPad mini?  I have a new Canon dSLR and want to be able to view photos on my iPad Mini while on an upcoming trip.  I have an Apple Camera Connection Kit that worked with my iPad2.  But with the Lightning connector replacing the 30-pin connector on the Mini, this kit no longer works.

  • Delete of 20k photos crashes iPad mini on ios8

Through some sort of iCloud issue 19,207 blank photos were generated and basically filled my ios devices.  I was finally able to get them out of the photostream, but they're now taking up ~20GB of space on my iPad mini retina in the recently deleted folder.   Any attempt to Delete All, times out and crashes the photos app.   I've searched and searched for some other way to delete these but am not finding anything.    I've tried closing all apps, leaving plugged in, and setting the screen to never lock to essentially minimize any competing resources, but it sti
Is this a backup/restore situation to remedy?
The underlying problem seems to be how ios handles large deletes.   It seems like there would be a more efficient way to handle this like using a rename/drop approach on the DB instead of the delete when you use the Delete All command.
Anyone else run into this or have a solution/suggestion?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
If you turn off photo stream it will only remove the photo stream album, it won't remove photos from your camera roll.

  • How do I transfer photos from iPad mini to my Macbook Pro?

I have about 30GB of photos on my iPad mini (which were added from a SD card through the SDcard cord with the lightning cable end) and i am trying to take them off my iPad mini to free up space, but still need to keep the photos. I tried importing them through iPhoto on my Macbook Pro but it said all the files were corrupt. I tried putting them back through the SDcard cord onto an SDcard but that didnt work either. Is there any way to get these photos onto my Macbook Pro or even a USB stick? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Image Capture is a built-in program and should be in your Applications folder, Aperture I bought from the Mac App Store.
For Simple Transfer it's an iPad app, so you would download it on your iPad from the app store.

  • Transfering photos from iPad mini to macbook air

How can I transfer movie clips (or photos) from my iPad mini to a MacBook Air?
I have AirDrop on both devices however they do not see each other.
The AirDrop on the MacBook sees an iMac, however not the ipad mini - so the AirDrop on the MacBook works.
The iPad Mini's AirDrop works with another iPad Mini - so that works, and the function is "on"
I also tried connecting the ipad to the MacBook using the Lightning  to USB connection, and am able to backup the ipad mini, and synch items
However I do not seem able to "see" and move the photos or movie clips from the ipad mini to the MacBook.
    Thanks.

AirDrop does not work for an iOS device to a Mac. It works Mac to Mac or iOS device to iOS device. Strange, I know, but that's how it works currently so don't try any longer using AirDrop.
You cannot transfer photos using iTunes either. It's not supposed to work that way. You can import the photos to iPhoto, Image Capture or Aperture on the Mac.

  • Not able to receive photos on iPad mini

    Hi
I have an iPad mini running 8.3 and the Skype version 4.19
When I receive photos it just gives me a link to login in to my Skype account outside the app.
Is there a fix for this?
    Thanks

Try switching Messages off and back on:
    1. Go to Settings > Messages
    2. Flick the iMessage switch and wait until it's turned off
    3. Flick the switch again, and sign in with your Apple ID
    Normally solves most iMessage issues.
Problem persists? Try rebooting (hold Home and Lock buttons until Apple logo) between step 2 and 3.

  • How do I permanently erase a deleted photo on iPad Mini?

    Hi,
Is there any way that I can permanently erase a deleted photo from my iPad Mini so that it will be unrecoverable?
I did not sync my iPad to my PC or any other device or connect with WiFi between the time the photo was saved and when I deleted the photo from Camera Roll and My PhotoStream. (I deleted the photo normally using the Trash Can logo)
Thanks in advance for your help.

If you want to permanently erase deleted photos from your iPhone, try iPhone Data Eraser to permanently erase deleted data from your iPad.

  • IOS8 mail crashing on iPad Mini

I give up.  Upgraded my iPad Mini to iOS8 (8.0.2).  First thing I noticed the Mail App crashing.  I have reset it to factory default and restored from backup image.  Problem is persistent.  Fine after a reboot but soon after the problem resurfaces.  Come on Apple get your **** act together and release another update to correct the problems, as this is not the only one.  Of course, you can take us all back before iOS8 and explain to the Street how your developers screwed up.

Please tell me that it has NEVER been jailbroke.  If it has not been jailbroke, here are some standard repair procedures:
First, try a system reset.  It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until you see the Apple logo.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears.  You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore.  Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset.  It could take well over an hour!  Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync.  From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab.  Follow the on-screen directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup.  You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod.  Again, say "yes."
At the end of the basic Restore, you will be asked if you wish to sync the iPad/iPod.  As before, say "yes."  Note that that sync selection will disappear and the Restore will end if you do not respond within a reasonable time.  If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device.  Corrective action is simple -  choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore (or it doesn't help), go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here.  You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without being charged again.  Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

  • Deleting iphoto photos from iPad

When backing up my ipad to my macbook before updating to IOS 7 somehow I managed to sync all the photos from my mac which were in Iphoto to my ipad - all 10 GB of photos. Now I don't have enough space to update to IOS7 or indeed download any more apps.
How do I undo this operation? I tried resyncing my ipad to the mac book but I'm not getting any option to do with photos. If I delete the photos individually from the ipad will they still be on iphotos when  I sync again to the macbook?
All suggestions welcome and thank you in advance.

You haven't told us anything about your iPad's environment:  Which model?  Whici iOS version?
But perhaps the most important question is how much free space you have?  Look at Settings > General > Usage and note the available space.  It needs to be absolutely no less than 10% of the iPad's total storage space.
If space is tight, you might try deleting other things first.
Whether space is tight or not, you might try deleting fewer photos at a time.  The feeling I get is you're trying to do one massive delete.  Try some smaller ones first.

  • Delete photos from iPad mini

I downloaded photos from my PC using iTunes onto my iPad mini.  Now I want to delete some and I can not.

If it was synced from your computer then it can't be deleted directly on the iPad, you will need remove/de-select it from where you synced it from on your computer and re-sync.
