Ios8 issues

What's going on with iOS 8 ?
my normally solid ipad 2 has been instantly ruined since I installed this update and all I am reading is hundreds of users having the same specific ios 8 related issue
when will Apple actually test these things prior to release
the wifi is now terrible
its really really laggy doing anything
its crashes regularly
using Safari is so slow I've barly thrown the iPad in the bin in frustration
come on Apple , you need to sort his out, you have yet again upset a lot of people here

This is so bad now on my IPAD 2 with iOS 8 it's almost unusable. Safaris crashes constantly, freezes constantly, everything is so slow.
Apple needs to fix this or allow us to go back to IOS 7.  8.01 does nothing to help with all these freezes, crashes and slowness On the iPad.
Get a 8.02 fix out ASAP for IPAD or let us go back to iOS 7.

    Hello,
Where may I be able to contact and speak with a prepaid representative? Strictly through phone calls? (I am at work 12 hours a day)
And I apologize for posting in the wrong area - I saw Apple support so I went here.
I'm almost certain my phone is the problem. I have gone through resetting the network settings a dozen times on my phone, even did it on my dad's. Now my texts are beginning to do the same when I text my fiance.
Resetting the network settings DOES work -- the problem is it will work for a day or two or for only a few hours - then I'll have to do it all over again.

  • Ipad and ios8 issues

since upgrading to ios8 on my ipad i'm continually have to power on and off to get any updates to various sites and to upload anything. any idea why or how to solve it

    Hi
IOS8 has completely ruined my phone, which I also use for work. I now have a blurry screen, a phone that crashes after typing an average of two words and have lost pretty much all functionality. I took it to a Telstra shop who confirmed they had seen similar issues and apple had given no update as to when this would be fixed. As an owner of many apple products I am seriously falling out of love with Apple quickly over this. I have had no use of my phone for a week and fail to see how Apple havenot communicated this as everyone I speak to is having big issues. Anyone else on here experiencing the same thing?

  • How ca i get help with IOS8 issues.

Downloaded ios8 on my trusty I Pad 2, 64G, and now it's a mess.  I know this is happening to a multitude of people. My favorite app stopped functioning, Facebook is super slow and crashes, internet is slow, Words with Friends is slow and crashes, the screen shifts and it's hard to scroll. Typing is slow.  It's even difficult to close programs.  Apple is by all reports aware but in denial.  What's the chances of a fix for this? Especially on the older products.  I've read that IPad 2 can support the upgrade, but performance is horrendous.  If i have to scrap my old, used-to-be trusty I Pad, it won't be for another Apple product Just on principle.  How can I join a group that will make them sit up and take notice?

I updated my iPad 2 64GB  And have had no issues. Its dare I say it faster than iOS 7 was. Everything works except one Game which also does not work on my iPhone, thus I take that to mean its an issue with the game rather than the update. Does that automatically mean the update is flawless?  That the installation can go down with out a hitch in all scenarios? Of course not.
Millions of people have updated, a small minority is having issues this is always the case with Os updates on any platform. Nothing in this world is perfect.
There will always be bugs and glitches that cannot be anticipated. The fact it works fine on the majority of the devices that have been updated, and only a small percentage is having issues means its a situational based on hardware or other specific cause with the devices havingthe  issues, rather than some inherent flaw with the update. In which case there is nothing Apple can really fix on their update. Also of note is that issues are varied, from slowness to crashing, to
Apps simply not working. Its unlikely the update package itself would cause all these different issues in one device, but at the same time cause nothing on an identical device.  So you see, its not so simple to identify the issue if in fact there is one that can actually be fixed.
To me it sounds like the installation process experienced an issue at the time it was being executed locally on the device which means again we are back to some internal cause with the specific device which can be different between devices.

  • IPhone 4s - updated to ios8 - issues..

Unluckily my hard drive on my 2011 13" MBP has been dying a slow death this last week. I a have managed to drag and drop a lot of files onto external but some I'm unable to.
Then I got back from Europe (I live in the UK) and my iMessages and emails were messing up on my iPhone 4s started messing up. Just not getting emails and iMessage would not function at all. I called Three* my network provider and they said to do a reset.
I did a reset and it didn't work, they then suggested backing up and restoring with latest ios8.
I managed to back up on iTunes but now it appears that I do not have enough power in my hard drive to back up restore. It was 'restoring' for the entire afternoon with now progress on the bar.
I pulled it out in disgust and boredom of waiting.
So right now I am unsure what to do.
Currently I can not get past a 'Hello' screen.. It's a white screen with animations of hello in different languages and Siri seems to be reading them out. But I can not even scroll through this screen?
I am guessing this is a full restore that is underway.
I am willing to accept that I may not be able to restore with my older data like photos.. Luckily in iCloud when I log in I can see all my numbers and calendar entries etc so is that possible to still download them to phone?
I am currently without a phone and it ***** big time. I have no idea what to do about it?
Can anyone please suggest anything I could try or options I have at my disposal?
Really appreciate your help so far.
    Thanks.

    Hey JimmyCR,
I know that can be frustrating, especially after an update when something is not working, but for issues regarding the camera on your iPhone, take a look at the article below for some troubleshooting options to get it working again. Polls and petitions are not permitted here. If you want to submit feedback to Apple, use the Feedback page: http://www.apple.com/feedback Meanwhile, you might find that, with proper troubleshooting, most, if not all, of your problems can be resolved.

  • When will there be a resolution to the ios8 issues?

    Hello Apple
It's been a while, we need to know when the next patch will be deployed...??? My phone went from 100% to 51% in 4 hours with no usage this morning.
    WE NEED AN UPDATE.

There is no one from Apple here. So what troubleshooting steps have you taken to resolve your problem?

  • My FIOS app iOS8 issues

Is there anyone having trouble connecting with call log and email through My FIOS app?

I'm running iOS 8.0.2 on an iPhone 5s and all features of My FiOS seem to be working normally.
I did have some trouble with My FiOS a month or two ago.  I uninstalled the app and re-downloaded and installed it and that fixed the problems.  For whatever that's worth (or isn't).

  • RTZ and iOS8 issue

Hello! New Time Zones were applied in Russia on 26th of October 2014.
Microsoft released a patch for Windows OS adding these time zones.
After that date all the devices with iOS 8 (including 8.1.1) that are connected to our Exchange server show every appointment in calendar in wrong time (each event has moved back by 1 hour, and it is only on iOS devices.
When we test the same in iOS 7.1.2 - it works as it should be, all the events appear properly.
All the time related settings on iOS 8 devices are configured properly:
    General-Date and Time-Set Automatically-On
    Mail,Contacts,Calendar-Time Zone Override-Off
Is there any workaround/fix. Should it be just fixed on Apple servers (proper time zones support) or there should be a patch released?
    Thank you.
    iPhone 5s(8.0.2),6(8.1.1), iPad Air2 (8.1)

Like in Select is used as
    WHERE col1 LIKE 'aaa%'
and disable the index on col1 (Sure exists Index-Function)
    as it's better writing
WHERE account_name LIKE 'CAPITAL%'in comparison to
WHERE SUBSTR(account_name,1,7) = 'CAPITAL'Sure is better if you can use col1 = :item but I don't know your goal.

  • Since IOS8 update I can no longer open .rtf files in Safari

We have a system at work where by we have a lot of emails saved in our records as .rtf files. We access these on our iPad through safari by visiting our website, on the previous IOS they could just be opened within safari and they popped up in a new tab. Since the update they do not open, instead we get an error message dying that the file cannot be opened- "unable to read document, An error occurred while reading the document.".
Is there a fix for this?

I have the same problem with Safari, it will not open any Rich Text File attachments in Gmail. I can see people thinking why is he using Gmail in safari? Two co-workers and I share a work related account and important stuff comes in by RTF file, the duty person can see it instantly there.
Anyway, I need to open RTF files using safari.  A process of elimination, I found a free App that will let you "Open in" when you get an attachment in the mail.
IT is Called RTF Write by Mach Software Design.
(Apple you guys still need to pull your finger out and sort the IOS8 Issues. The RTF problem has been reported as a "Bug")

  • Apple TV Issues - waking from sleep and hicup between songs

I have three Apple TVs that I have positioned throughout my house associated with different stereos that I use exclusively to play music from my iPad Air 2 or iPhone 5s. For months now I've endured issues where they won't easily wake. this problem seems to change.  Sometimes I'll be able to wake from the iPad; sometimes I have to use the silver remote.  When I do waken them and get to enjoy music, the transistion from one song to the next hiccups.  I noticed that there are things that will occasionally cause the music to abruptly stop.  Examples are touching the home button or move from iTunes to a music service such as Spotify.  I'm beginning to conclude this is a combination of IOS8 issues but also network issues aggravating it.  I'm interested in learning what others know about this.  There are lots of discussions on the subject already but I started this one because of the waking issue and the hicup and wondering if anyone out there has no issues what so ever with AirPlay through Apple tv.  Thanks!

still no joy, did a reinstall of the OS and its still intermittently not waking once i close the lid and the hard drive stops.
The next thing to do is to get apple to have a look at it. very annoying as I have only had it since 28th Dec but nothing else I can do. Pc world will have it in to fix rather than replace so to be honest I'd rather Apple had a look than some monkey boy with fat clumsy fingers on a YTS scheme lol

  • Can't post photos on Facebook from iPad since upgrading to ios8

Since upgrading to ios8 I can no longer post photos on Facebook from existing photos on my iPad 2. Is this a problem connected to the upgrade or something else? Also, since the upgrade my keyboard sometimes freezes up and I have to refresh the page and start over and lose whatever I had been working on. Also an ios8 issue?

    Roddy
I hate to sound obnoxious, and I really do appreciate your efforts to help me. The link actually is not what Facebook normally does. Yes, the thumbnail goes to your FB profile. But if you had pasted almost any other link in the link publisher, you'd get a second thumbnail and a L/R arrow that allows you to scroll through the graphics posted on the linked site and pick one to serve as a thumbnail from your website. Then, had you linked to a page with a long and cumbersome address, you'd have seen the link "cleaned up" aesthetically so that you would not see 4 lines of URL, but a tidy site title and abbreviated link. That's what I'm missing, and scrolling down that iWeb interest page on Facebook shows a lot of others with the same issue.
But as I said, earlier, I really have about stopped caring and am planning to take Ethmoid's advice and can iWeb altogether and look to some other arrangement for managing my site, though I find it ironic that I was urged to dump iWeb by people on the Apple discussion board!

  • IPhone 5 crashing w/ iOS8

I upgraded right away when iOS8 dropped and for the first day it was okay. Since then I've been experiencing more and more frequent crashes. Apps crashing and now the entire phone restarting. This morning I was forced to hard-restart it to bring it back. Even crashing during normal use with only one app open.
Is anyone else experiencing iOS8 issues on their iPhone 5?

    Hi Ava,
I have iOS 8 on my iPhone 5s. The reason I even purchased an iPhone 5s was so I could get iOS 8 since my "other" phone is an iPhone 4. I have had zero issues with iOS 8.
As Meg said, you cannot go back to iOS 6 once you have upgraded. However, if you are planning on restoring to a backup, much of your data and settings will be restored. You can back up to iCloud or iTunes (or both), then restore from one or the other. Apple recommends that your restore from an iCloud backup:

  • Is anyone having wifi problems on their iPad after downloading iOS8?

My mother has downloaded iOS8 onto her iPad3 and is now unable to get wifi on it. It keeps asking her for the wireless key but when she inputs it, the wifi icon appears at the top of the screen as usual then just as quickly disappears. Has anyone else experienced this and been able to solve it?

This is great news that everyone's WiFi are having issues after an iOS update!!!
Let me explain, and I hope someone from Apple really really looks and responds to this issue effecting everyone.
I updated my iPad2 to iOS 7.1 a few months back, and then I stopped getting WiFi when I'm more than 10 yards from my router at home.  Tested in multiple WiFi networks, locations (in different countries even), and even went as far as changing the settings or shutting off any other airwave frequency devices at home (like 2.4 GHz handsfree phones, radios, tvs, PS3 wireless controllers, bluetooth signals).  I even had my iPhone4 (iOS6) and iPhone 5S (on iOS7.1.2) as comparison since they have no issues. What I found out was, my iPad2 on iOS7.1 performs weakly on 2.4 GHz signals.  5.0 GHz much better.  I don't mind replacing my old 2.4 GHz only router to one with 2.4 GHz + 5 GHz, but it won't solve the problem when I go to a network in the public (like airports where I frequent).
I went to the Apple Store 4 separate times (in 2 countries), to let them know about the situation.  They could not do a distance test at the Apple store, because they are on the 2.4/5.0 routers. They did a diagnostic twice with the hardware, and everything checked out fine.  So they began advising me to "Reset Network Settings" and even as far as "Reset All Settings"... basically started from a blank iPad2, nothing worked because I'm sure it was a iOS7.1 issue.  I don't think they have 2 different pieces of WiFi receiver on the iPad2, and I am certain it is a software issue.  Makes me think, did they purposely change settings to weaken the receiving of the 2.4 GHz signal?  (That's just a civil lawsuit waiting to happen...)
I downloaded iOS8.0 on to my iPad2 hoping they fixed this WiFi issue that has already been a hot topic in these forums since iOS7, but of course the update failed to correct the problem.  Right now, to me, it sounds more and more like an overlook iOS programming that maybe causing this WiFi issue, since it is also happening to people who upgraded to iOS8 and iOS8.0.1 for many different type of devices (even on brand new iPhone6).  An WiFi only iPad2 that can't receive WiFi is very close to being a brick.  Is not a good feeling bringing your iPad2 to the airport to find out it won't pick up a signal.
I'm no computer expert, but if you can tweak your router to broadcast stronger on one signal via software (b/n/g/ac, or 2.4 vs 5.0 GHz), I'm sure something can be done with the receiver?  Apple, if you are reading this, please do something!!!  This isn't just an iOS8 issue... it has been an issue since iOS7 but no one in the Apple world believes it is an issue.  And now I hope you can see from all these postings about WiFi issue, you have to believe that it may be a software/programming issue. If the software somehow created a hardware/firmware issue, then replace our hardware/firmware please.
Perhaps Tim Cook should get this message maybe he will respond better. What's his email address? #TimCook.  #Apple.  #iPadTurningInToABrick  #FixtheWiFiPlease
