  • HT1473 Apple tv purchases to iTunes

I purchased a movie using apple tv to view on my regular home tv.  How do I get this movie onto my Mac in iTures?  I can view movies I purchased in iTunes on my home tv using Apple tv, so I should be able to view the movies from Apple tv on iTunes.

  • How do you NOT sync Apple TV purchases to iTunes?

This question is on behalf of my parents who have Apple TV - which i bought for them and i have become their tech support on 24 hour call ><
Background: My parents share the same account. Dad uses the PC computer with iTunes where my mother only uses Apple TV.
She purchases TV shows, Movies, Rentals, whatever all the time and my father was asking how to turn off the syncing so iTunes doesn't get filled up with all her purchases.
Dad has an iPad and Mum has an iPad. Both have iPhones as well. Everything on the one account. Mum watches TV shows on her iPad as well...but rarely syncs with PC computer. He said some of the purchases download, where others don't? And he is worried about mum's purchases filling up his computer memory!
So his question is: how do you STOP them syncing/downloading?
I've searched & googled but can only find questions from people asking how to sync...not the other way around.
    Any ideas?

  • Apple TV--purchases through iTunes account??

    Hi,
I just purchased an Apple TV and assumed (silly me) that when I purchased a movie, that it would just filter out of my iTunes account. I have quite a bit of money in there from gift cards, etc. and would rather have it take the purchase from there than my debit card that is on file.
Is there any way to change this or am I stuck purchasing movies this way? If so, this is disappointing.

Actually, I'm talking about purchases and rentals. Using my Apple TV I rented a HD movie and also bought a tv episode, as well as a couple of songs from iTunes. None of it came from my balance on iTunes, all from my debit card on file.
I can see where buying on my MAC then syncing with the Apple TV would work to use the credit that I have on my account, but doesn't that kind of defeat the purpose of having Apple TV to use? It just seems very convoluted, when Apple products always just seem to "make sense".
    Thanks for your insight Winston!

  • My Apple TV purchases via iTunes do not appear on other computers running iTunes under OS X, iOS or Windows

I have recently been purchasing more movies and TV shows through iTunes. When I do his from a desktop computer or iOS device, the titles are accessible on my Apple TV. The opposite does not seem to work however. The content remains accessible only through he Apple TV. I have researched the issue and cannot find a solution. iTunes help does not speak to the issue.

You need to go into your purchased history and download on other devices, they won't appear automatically.

I have an iPhone which I added my email address as my apple ID. I have just purchased an iPad which I add my other email address by mistake and now I am unable to stream my photographs. I have tried to change my email on both devises but with out luck as it won't reconise my pass word. Any ideas

Settings>iTunes & App Stores>Tap the ID and sign out. Then sign in with your other ID.
If this isn't working, restart the iPad - AFTER you sign out of the ID and then sign in with the correct ID after the iPad restarts.
There is no reason why you should not be able to sign in with the ID that you are using on the iPhone and use that passord with that ID on the iPad.

i changed my address on my apple id. now theres no any purchased apps anymore. where are they?

You should be able to change credit card billing address etc. on the desktop version of iTunes, after you login to your account.

  • HT5624 Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

Someone I don't know is using my email address as their Apple ID to sign and purchase apps ect and I keep getting notifications in my emails. How do I stop them from using my email address????????

If a person is using your email address, you should change your email password and make sure there aren't any forwards to some strange email address.
An example if you were using gmail, under account settings, a forward can be set up to send messages to another email address.
If your email address is say, you own domain, such as somename@somename dot com, make sure the forwards are forwards you set up.
If your email account was hacked and the bad guy has access, you need to cut him off, first by changing the password and second cut off any message forwarding to the bad guy if he set it up.  Just changing the password would keep a bad guy out, but if the bad guy set up a forward, he will still get your email.
A confirmation from Apple would have come to your email address in order to confirm that Apple ID.  If you are getting the other person's purchase notifications, you would have gotten a confirmation of that account from Apple.

  • HT204053 I have an iPhone 4S and the new Apple TV, both setup with my email as the Apple ID.  I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID.  Is a second iTumes Match subscription required for her to use our music from iCl

I have an iPhone 4S and the latest Apple TV, both setup with my email address as the Apple ID.  I subscribed to iTunes Match so our music could be played from iCloud.  I gave my wife an iPad 3 and set it up using her email address as the Apple ID.  When I try to turn on iMatch so she can play our music from iCloud on her new iPad it tells me that she needs a subscription to iTunes Match.  Is it Apple's intent that we would need two iTunes Match subscriptions?  If not, how do I accomplish what I want to get done?

The problem is that all services are bundled with your Apple ID ([email protected]):
Your iCloud account (Mail, Contacts, Calendars, Reminders, Notes, Backups, etc.),
also iTunes & App Store purchases (Music, Movies, TV Shows, etc.),
    and the iTunes Match services.
(I guess that all your devices - yours and your wife's are connected to one iTunes library, right?)
If you want that your wife gets her own iCloud account for Mail, Contacts, Calendars, etc. but gets also access to your media then you have two set up two things on her device:
iCloud (Settings > iCloud) with her account (e.g. [email protected])
    and
iTunes & App Stores (Settings > iTunes & App Stores) with your account (e.g. [email protected]).
In this case she gets access to your library and could use the same iTunes Match account.

  • HT204053 Somehow the very first email I had years ago that I don't even remember the password for, keeps coming up as my apple ID, when I want to make any purchase on ITunes. Why won't my real ID come up, and I can't find the right solution?

Does anyone know how to eliminate a mistaken apple ID that you still use as an email
but for some reason, now when I go to make a purchase at ITunes, it  brings up this email
as my apple ID instead of my actual Id and it will not take the current password I have for
this email. Somehow I believe it is confused, because years ago this was my first email, and
it had a different password way back then, that I no longer remember.
I am very sorry if this all sounds confusing, but my Mac book has been out of commission for the
past year, and I have been recently trying to work on it, and I am not suave on the computer at all, so
if my next question sounds lame, you'll know why... I wondered if that may have caused any of my
latest hitches, only because when I first purchased Mac, 4 years ago, this rogue email was the one
I signed up with everything on my Mac, but I have not been using it for the past 9 months, just my
iPhone, until that died 3 months ago, and then I got this new I phone 5 2 months ago, thinking my
problems would be..., a thing of the past,??, for at least a little while??? But NO, they have not,
However, I'm sticking to the problem at hand, I have a full functioning apple ID that works and at
some occasional times, ITunes would bring the correct ID up. And only once in a while bring the
Bogus one up. But in the last few weeks, all it asks for now is the wrong ID and my frustration has
reached its max!!' I have missed out on purchasing two apps I needed, and some music I wanted,
and I don't think I'll be able to even use ITunes at all until I can know how to make my devices realize
that my email is an email, not a apple ID, and then make it accept my real ID!!!
Without having to eliminate, or delete my email address I still use, and receive mail
at. Please forgive this lengthy explanation!!!
I was only trying to make sense, if I confused you
more, I'm very sorry... Thank you for any brave ones that tackle this, and actually have some
Solutions for me.., I thank you much indeed!!  Sincerely  Kim

  • HT3529 Help with multiple e-mail addresses under one Apple ID

My 3 kids each have their own e-mail addresses under my Apple ID for the iMessage feature on their iPod Touch's.  Just recently I began receiving their iMessages on my iPhone despite the fact that each device has only its own email address selected.  Also, when I send messages to certain people, it goes out as one of my children's messages.  When I send my children a message, it goes to them as well as comes back to me from myself.  We have never had an issue with this until about 2 weeks ago.  Has anyone ever experienced this, or do you have suggestions on how to fix the problem?
    Thank you in advance!
    Sincerely,
    Melissa

To make it simple, you can use your purchasing Apple ID on all your family devices in Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Apple ID. That allows you to share your Apps, Books and Music purchases from Apple iTunes Store, iBooks Store and Apps Store.
For all other Apple services like Game Center, iMessages, FaceTime, etc. you should get each of your children their own Apple ID (using their valid e-mail addresses)

  • How was someone using my e-mail address as their Apple ID?

First time posting, so I apologize in advance if this is the wrong forum.
    1) I have a primary e-mail adress that is not linked to my iTunes.  The only time this e-mail address was used in conjunction with anything Apple was when I purchased Quicktime Pro in 2006 and registered my iPod in 2007.  I do have an iTunes account with a seconday e-mail address, and log in occasionaly to listen to free podcasts (never purchasing anything)
    2) Today on my primary e-mail address, I recieved a warning that an app was downloaded, with this e-mail as the Apple ID.  This was the first e-mail I've recieved from Apple on this address since registering my iPod in 2007.
I live alone, and don't share my electronics with anyone, so I know it's not that.  so I'm left wondering - how did someone use my e-mail address as an Apple ID?  Wouldn't I have recieved an e-mail during the initial registration this person tried to use?
Thankfully I have no credit card associated with Apple, so I wasn't overcharged, but this seems like a big security hole.

    The content was this:
Your Apple ID, [my primary e-mail address] , was just used to download -KingdomConquest- from the App Store on a computer or device that had not previously been associated with that Apple ID.
If you initiated this download, you can disregard this email. It was only sent to alert you in case you did not initiate the download yourself.
If you did not initiate this download, we recommend that you go to iforgot.apple.com to change your password, then see Apple ID: Tips for protecting the security of your account for further assistance.
    Regards,
    Apple
There is the possibility that I did change my iTunes account to my primary and just forgot, but that's doubtful considering a) today was my first e-mail from Apple since 2007 on this address and b) I'm still recieving iTunes updates on my secondary e-mail that I registered years ago.
Also, I don't own any devices capable of running Kingdom Conquest. Thankfully, it's a free app.  It would be interesting to see a list of other apps downloaded with this ID, if any.  Is there a way to do that?
Maybe someone mistyped their email address when creating their account and it just happened to be yours?
I thought that, too, but my e-mail address is [email protected]  My first name is somewhat common, my last name is definitely not.  And back to what I said earlier, I never recieved a registration e-mail from Apple, just the one above.

  • I have two Iphones with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID. Will that cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

I have two Iphones 5 with different email addresses sharing one Apple ID account. Both are using IOS 8.
I would like to set up a new Apple Id for one of the phones and remove it from the old account.
If I do that, can I move all of the purchased apps and songs to the new Apple account?
Also, will sharing one Apple ID account with two devices cause problems with using messaging and FaceTime?

Sharing an iCloud account between two devices can be done without causing issues with iMessage and FaceTime, just go into Settings for each of these functions and designate separate points of contact (i.e. phone number only, or phone number and unique email address).  While that works, you'll then face the problem where a phone call to one iPhone will ring both if on the same Wi-Fi network -- but again, that can be avoided by changing each phone's settings.
Rather than do all that, don't fight it -- use separate IDs for iCloud.  You can still use a common ID for iTunes purchases (the ID for purchases and iCloud do not have to be the same) or you can use Family Sharing to share purchases from a primary Apple account.
