IP address no longer valid on 8520 Curve

Recently bought a Curve 8520. Great shape; however, I have a problem with the Wi-Fi connection. The phone connects to my home router just fine. I cannot use the browser to access the internet. I checked all the settings.
The Data Service is "ON"
  While Roaming is "ON"
Took out the battery to restart
Wiped the phone from "security settings"
Used the BB  CD to check for updates on the OS.
I have tried ALL suggestions that have been posted on this web site - nothing works. When doing the Diagnostics, I continue to get the "IP address NO LONGER VALID"
Any suggestions????

Please tell me that when you try to connect to the wifi what does it says i mean any error or somthing.
Ther is another case that many wifi users have secured their wifi from unauthorized access.
Is there somthing like this porblem with you?

    Dear experts,
    I can connect my Pearl 9100 to my home Wi-Fi network but I cannot connect to the internet.  For example, when I run the the Browser I get the message "Unable to connet to the Internet..." . 
    I can see on my router that Pearl has been assigned an IP address vi DHCP (just as one would expect). 
    From "Manage Connections / Wi-Fi Options / from Saved Wi-Fi Profiles I select my profile / Wi-Fi Tools / Wi-Fi Diagnostics" I see that "Local IP Adress:" is blank and this "Status: IP address no longer valid"
    I deduce that something is wrong on the Pearl because it is not accepting the TCP/IP configuration served to it by my DHCP server (my wireless router).
    Does anyone have any recommendations to help me fix this?
    Here are some other details to consider:
    All other wireless devices work on my home Wi-Fi network including a Blackberry Bold 9780 running OS 6.
    My Pearl 9100 has OS v.5.0.0.748.  This is an OS updated from Blackberry specific to my carrier (Bell) from the OS 5.0.0.604 which came on the device.
    I do not have a data plan on my Blackberry (you may think this strange, but hey, that's the way I want it).  The Bold 9780 that did connect to my home Wi-Fi network did not have a data plan either.  The absence of a data plan should not be a problem because all I need connection to the Internet for is the occassional use of the Browser when Wi-Fi is available.

    Hey - I found the solution:
    Options / Mobile Network / Data Services - change from "OFF" to "ON"
    I guess I was mistaken in thinking that "Data Services" only needed to be turned on if you have a Data Plan.

  • Forgot itunes password and email address no longer valid

    I'm trying up download apps on my iPad and I have 3 problems:-
    1.  the default email address on iTunes no longer exists (was my husbands old email)
    2.  I don't know the password
    3.  When I select security questions and put in my birth details it says they aren't valid either
    Any suggestions please? 
    I have another apple ID but It always defaults to the one that isn't valid, is there a way of changing the default ID to my own?

    Is it not the case that if you reset to factory settings then you won't be able to retrieve the apps you've already paid for which are assigned to the old password

    i have created a new account to ask this question but would prefer to use my old account. my skype has always stayed logged in and the other day it logged out for some reason. i have now forgotten my password but i cannot reset it because my e-mail that i used to register no longer works and i cannot recieve the password token could it be sent to my new e-mail address?

    In the end, the only way to resolve such account-related matters is to contact Skype Customer Service.  We here in the Community do not have access to accountholder records.  Nor do we have the authority to resolve anything related to accounts.

  • 3 letter email address no longer valid??

    I have been unable to get my email address back ever since my latest BB device upgrade to a Bold 9900. I wanted to switch my bb email address which is [email protected] (note that those x's represent 3 letters.) When I called my carrier to ask them to connect that email address to my current PIN they said they are unable to do so, as they are getting error messages that emails must have a minimum of 4 characters, and that I must take my concerns to blackberry support. Talk about passing the buck, but I guess I will give it a try. Is there anyway I can get my email back or is it history?

  • App World Password - Original email address no longer valid

    When originally setting up my Blackberry ID, I used my corporate email address.
    Since then, I have changed employers.
    Now I cannot recall the password and all the password prompts/resets are sent to the email address that does not exist anymore.
    What do I do to fix this problem?

    I cannot recieve messages at my old email address, so please do not send messages there!
    How can I get this changed? There is no way to do it on the "account" page.

  • Had to change my Apple ID because the original email address is no longer valid.  How do I change the iCloud user name on iMac?  I found instructions about signing out of iCloud and signing back end.  It asks questions about contact, etc.

    Had to change Apple ID due to email address no longer valid.  Trying to change id for icloud...saw direction online about signing out of icloud and signing back in...when it ask questions about contacts, photos, etc. being deleted how do I answer those?  That just sort of freaks me out.

    For the ones that give you an option, select the option you want (keep on the Mac or Delete). For the ones that are simply warning you, click on Delete from Mac.
    They will all come back when you sign back on, since all you did was change your existing Apple ID to a new email address. It's the same iCloud account, just with a different name.
    It's the only way to get your updated ID signed onto iCloud.

    - Try contacting iTunes for the password problem:
    Apple - Support - iTunes - Contact Us
    - For the other problem you can try a reset. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch:  Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - The next standard thing to do is to download/install a new app but you cant 'do that.
    - Instead, try restoring from backup.

    I did a factory restore and then restored it with iCloud back-up. I have been using lots of Apple products and i have used three different email adresses. Almost all apps restored perfectly but everytime i try to play a song in the Music app, i asks me for a Apple-ID i had no idea i have used.
    Hence:
    I lost my password for my original iTunes account
    I can't recover it because the email address it is registered under is not longer valid
    How can I access my old account?
    Can't find a place to change the email address to my new one without the password which I no longer remember.
    There is no way to just erase Apple-ID's on my device either.
    What to do? Should i ju give up and start from scratch and delete 2 years of stuf?

    If you can remember the answers to the security questions when you set up that account - I think that you can reset the password without needing email authentication. You can try it here. Read it and see if it's possible. But if you can't remember the answers to the questions it will not work.

    I helped him create a new email address and new iCloud account on my Mac but when we try to register the phone with Apple it says: Maximim accounts limit reached for this device. How can he register the phone? I read different threads and found out that only Apple care can do that. We're in Romania and don't know where to call. Any suggestions on how we fix this?

    When I checked the support site for Romania, you apparently don't have an Apple Care contact center.  You "may" try calling the US Apple care number to verify the account and have the password reset sent to a different email address.  800-694-7466

    It sounds like you are trying to change the Apple ID logged into the iTunes & App Stores on your iPhone.  Use these steps:
    Changing your Apple ID account
    Tap Settings > iTunes & App Stores, then tap the Apple ID signed in.
    Sign out of the current Apple ID account and then sign in with another account or create a new Apple ID.

    If you are trying to activate an iPad or iPhone and it is asking for a previous owners Apple ID and password, you have encountered the Activation Lock. This is a security feature that prevents thieves from setting up and using a stolen or lost iPad or iPhone. You have no alternative. You must use the previous owner's password to get permission to use the device.
