IP address not same as it should be

Hi,
I have 2 iphones one is a 3G and other is 4G and I updated my 3G recently to new firmware and it does not have a service provider as I canceled it. My new 4G which has AT&T works fine with cellular and wifi. I noticed that my 4G shows all the info under DHCP but my old 3G shows a different(non-working IP address) and there is no router address or DNS and I have renewed the lease a bunch of times and same problem can anyone help me? SO I cannot access the internet with my wifi. Interestingly it does show wifi bars but no conection.

On the 3G with the iPhone showing as being connected to the wi-fi network, with the wi-fi network selected and viewing the wi-fi network settings, select Forget this Network to delete the wi-fi network and settings from the iPhone.
This will require re-joining the wi-fi network.
If no change after this, on the iPhone go to Settings > General > Reset and select Reset Network Settings. This will erase all wi-fi network settings from the iPhone which will require re-joining every wi-fi network you have access to when returning within range of such a wi-fi network.
If no change after this, try restoring the iPhone with iTunes as a new iPhone or not from the iPhone's backup.
If no change after this, more than likely the iPhone has a hardware problem with the wireless card or with something else that is affecting this.

    I have networkmanager and 3G modem stick
    i checked my ip online using http://www.whatismyip.com/. it shows 123.61.154.88
    but NM says it is 10.183.185.90

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Private_network
    10.x.x.x addresses, like the one you have, are usually used in large private networks (Like universities) .  Most small (home) networks use 192.x.x.x.  Many medium size business use 172.x.x.x.
    10.x.x.x is finding increased use where an entire community are a private network which share a common gateway.  This is a bad trend in that no one in the entire community can run a rever that is available on the public internet.

  • Vendor address not updated in Scheduling Agreement

    I have a peculiar problem where the vendor address is not being updated in all scheduling agreements. I have multiple SAs against a vendor. When i change the name of the vendor, the name changes only in one of the SA. All the remaining SA carry the old name of the vendor. I tested with another vendor on the test system and the names on all the agreements change as soon as I make the change in the vendor master.
    Does anyone have any explanation on why the system is behaving strangely?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    I am more surprised that the name changed automatically on the ones that DID change.
    I would not have expected this to update in this way. The main idea is that outline agrements can have different data to the master records because they are specific agreements and often relate to very specific data.
    If you wanted to change the address of a vendor it should NOT change the address of existinmg VSAs etc. automatically because the document is  a =fixed contract that is agreed between you and the vendor and should ONLY be changed manually.
    We had a similar question earlier today asking why the system does not change the short description on a contract when the short description on the material master changes. My reply was basically the same, it SHOULDN'T change it automatically because the agreement is a legal document and cannot be changed by just ONE of the parties involved.
    So I would be asking  why the one VSA changed automatically (and the ones in the test syste) not why the others didn't change.
    Just trying to lok at this from all angles.

  • Firefox suddenly can't connect to the Internet (Address Not Found)

    OK, so I recently bought a netbook (Asus eeePC) and put Arch on it to dual-boot. I took it with me on a business trip last week, and I was so impressed with Arch I decided to put it on my desktop today (I had used Arch before, but not for a long time). So, as I was chugging along, I pulled up Firefox on my netbook (it's handy to have a secondary computer while installing Linux), and it gave me an "Address Not Found" error when pulling up Google. Firefox had been working just fine (wired or wireless Internet) for all of last week, and I haven't changed anything.
    What's extremely strange is that everything else works. I could pull up Google in Lynx, and I was listening to an Internet radio station (Groove Salad) using cmus, and it worked just fine. Figuring it was just a fluke, I kept going and discovered that I had the same problem on the Desktop once I got around to gettting Xorg and Fluxbox working and after I installed Firefox. It's very strange - the computers are quite different (the netbook is running i686, and the desktop is running x86_64). I have a home file/web server running Gentoo, and I'm able to run Firefox on it using ssh/X-Forwarding, and it works just fine. I can also pull up my server on Firefox on both the Laptop and the Desktop (just on the LAN, not the Internet). I also tried installing SeaMonkey on the netbook just to see, and I got the same results - it can't access Google or anything. Both computers are dual-booting Windows XP and Arch, and Firefox works on Windows for both computers.
    This might be the strangest error I've ever run into on Linux - I'm not sure what to do next to diagnose the issue. I'll gladly post any information anyone thinks is relevant. Any ideas?

    It's definitely a DNS issue. I tried as Statix suggested above and it worked after a little tweaking. I went back and checked my modem, and it listed two DNS servers. I put those in resolv.conf manually and they worked too. My router or modem (192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.254 respectively) should each be able to handle DNS on their own, but for some reason they aren't. I know it works; Windows XP and Gentoo both set their nameservers to 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.254 using DHCP and have no issues. When I tried DHCP on Arch, these were the relevant sections of rc.conf:
    eth0="dhcp"
    INTERFACES=(eth0)
    gateway="default gw 192.168.0.1"
    ROUTES=(!gateway)
    I tried using ROUTES=(gateway) as well (no effect). When I did that, DHCP automatically set my resolv.conf to:
    # Generated by dhcpcd
    # /etc/resolv.conf.head can replace this line
    nameserver 192.168.1.254
    nameserver 192.168.0.1
    # /etc/resolv.conf.tail can replace this line
    So changing the eth0 line in rc.conf to:
    eth0="eth0 192.168.0.100 netmask 255.255.255.0 broadcast 192.168.0.255"
    And putting the nameservers in resolv.conf from the values my modem listed works, but it shouldn't be necessary. I'd rather have it send DNS requests to the router or modem like my other systems work, but at least I have a workaround for the time being. My time is a bit limited, but I'll keep looking into it when I have the chance and post whatever I find. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd appreciate it though. Thanks!

  • How do I delete email addresses not in my contact list?

    My phone seems to be storing every email address I send to. When I create a new message and start to type in an address it brings up every email address I have ever sent to including those I only used one time. How do I delete these email addresses and prevent the phone from storing addresses not in my contacts?

    I posted something on this a few months ago. Hopefully Apple updates the OS to allow for editing the cache. I have done it in Mail on my mac for years when the list stores old and/or outdated email addresses. It is definitely nice to be able to clean this list up so that A) you don't make mistakes, and B) you don't have to sift through a bunch of useless email addresses in order to get to the one you are looking for.
    It is especially annoying when you have an email address that has a mistake in it, such as having one letter off by accident. Then, it is stored forever and you have to avoid choosing it every time you want to send to that recipient.
    I really hope Apple fixes this simple issue with an update. One thing that I can't quite figure out is why the iPhone engineers didn't build into the iPhone some of the great features of the Mac. Another example of this is in Contacts. Contacts is like Address Book, but it doesn't quite let you do everything that Address Book Does. Don't get me wrong because it is close. For example, when you want to add a new field, you don't have the same amount of the choices on the iPhone that you have in Address Book. Now why should this be? How hard could it be (and what problems could possibly arise out of) making these the same? What is the point of MobileMe and instant syncing if when creating a new contact on your iPhone, you still have to go into Address Book and add information? Also, why shouldn't you be able to store the same amount of information in your iPhone Contacts that you store in your Macs Address Book?
    For a company like Apple who is so detailed oriented to overlook these kinds of details is confusing to me.

    This is an iPad user to user forum, so you are not addressing Apple. Depending on how many user helpers are on-line, it may take several hours, or longer, to get a response.
    Try this  - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.) No data/files will be erased.

  • Referenced and Referencing Component Usages Must Address the Same Component

    Hi,
    I have a main component MC and it has two used componenents - IBLC and IVAC (interfaces for model and visual compoenents).
    I get the actual model component name from a table and I instantiate it as follows:
    instantiate model component
    DATA: l_ref_model_usage TYPE REF TO if_wd_component_usage,
    l_my_initial_usage type ref to IF_WD_COMPONENT_USAGE.
    L_MY_INITIAL_USAGE = wd_this->wd_cpuse_iblc( ).
    l_ref_model_usage = L_MY_INITIAL_USAGE->CREATE_COMP_USAGE_OF_SAME_TYPE(
    NAME = Item_Modelcomp ).
    Components VC1 and VC2 etc implement IVAC.
    Since I want to use the same instance of Item_Modelcomp in VC1 and VC2, I use the set_model(and from that I call method enter_referencing_mode) method as follows in MC.
    l_ref_interfacecontroller->set_model( model_usage = l_ref_model_usage ).
    Now in set_model method in VC1, I am using Item_Modelcomp as used component and not IBLC because I want to use the Item_Modelcomp context, but it expects IBLC as the used component(even though Item_Modelcomp implements IBLC) and hence gives the error "Referenced and Referencing Component Usages Must Address the Same Component".
    Any solution for this issue?
    Thanks and Regards,
    Srini.

    Hi Srinivasa,
    >I thought model compoenents are the ideal way to share
    >context across different visual components.
    Yeah, we though the same in the beginning. Later on we learned that:
      - it's not worth having the overhead of another WD component in most cases since you need to call the business logic nonetheless
      - declaring nodes as public is like having public attributes at a class - which can be really bad thing
      - there are lots of side effects regarding one component affecting the other one indirectly by having both mapped to the same model component
    In general, using model components should be avoided. There might be rare cases, where it makes sense to use them, but mostly it's not worth the effort.
    Best regards,
    Thomas

  • When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page.

    When printing a list in Address Book, how can I select more than the default Attributes and keep them selected when I print again? I want to print ALL information for contacts so I have email address, notes, phone, company, title, etc all on one page. I don't want to have to check off an additional 5 or 6 attributes each time I print out contact information. Is there a way to change the default setting for printing lists, so it is not just "phone," "photo," and "job title?"

    I have a user who wants to do this same thing. I did not find any way either to default the attributes to anything other than what you see the first time. Seems like such a trivial thing, hard to believe they do not allow it. I did find a program for this called iDress but I can't seem to download it from any links on the Internet. Not sure if it is free or not, but it was recommended by a link on the Mac support site.

  • How do I change just my iCloud email address not my apple ID?

    How do I change just my iCloud email address not my apple ID?

    You CANNOT change your iCloud email address once it is created and associated to you Apple Id (usually it is another email address).  First time you activate iCloud on your device and turn on email setting, you are prompted to create an iCloud email account and after choosing one that is available you are CLEARLY warned that ONCE CREATED YOU iCLOUD EMAIL IT CANNOT BE CHANGED!!!
    Fig.1 Warning if desired iCloud email      Fig. 2. Warning about creating new iCloud
    address is not available                         email which will be associated to you Apple Id
    You have two choices: a) create an alias for that account after you sign in icloud.com using either your apple id or your new created icloud email account (that's what I did) or b) create a new Apple Id (with all the pain it involves)
    I typed an incorrect iCloud email address and was linked to my Apple Id and now I have to live with this forever!?
    The workaround was to create an alias, but I have the feeling that something is wrong with my Apple Id
    All of us might make a petition to apple to allow us to change the 'main' icloud email address.  What if I misspelled it!? How difficult can it be?
    I hope this be helpful and answer your question.
    P.S. In the same way... once you create your Apple Support Communities USERNAME it cannot be changed too!
