Ip address on created Mangement VLAN shuts down 255 VLAN 1.0 subnet

My predecessor created a VLAN 255 to replace VLAN 1 as the Management VLAN. I noticed a some of the switches had there IP's on Fas0 out of band interface. To me it made more sense to put that ip address on a int vlan 255 on all the switches. As I did to my 4th Core Switch I added the ip address *.1.24 and it shut down the entire 255 vlan with affect the .1.0 subnet. I for the life of me can can't figure out what is causing the problem. It is not like any other device is using the 1.24 ip address and even if it was it should affect access to that device not all other devices on the 1.0 subnet.
The message in the log (doing the show log command) only shows interface 255 going up and down. The subnet mask is 255.255.255.0 (/24). I just put the ip in the interface again and pinged devices in the 1.0 subnet when I brought the interface back up yet I could not access any services on the 1.0 subnet from my workstations. I shut the interface again and could access services In that subnet again.

The VLAN is in the trunk. shouldn't that be enough as for as putting it in the port goes? I already have the interface shut and configured. When I unshut the entire .1.0 subnet does down. To me it's just so unlogical.

You can create a mailing list by using the "Groups" feature of Address Book. Simply select "New Group" from the File menu. Name the group, and drag the contacts you need into the group.

As my title says, after closing Firefox, at times I have to use task manger to shut down firefox.exe*32 at times. I've left it running for up to 5 minutes to see if it shuts down/closes and it doesn't. I've also reloaded Firefox. My system is a Lenovo H210 with 3 gig of Ram and no added video card, the OS is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit SP1. I realize the memory is on the small side. I did try to update VLC player this morning to V 2.1.2 but it fails to run after instal due to file errors.

Cisco 2950 VLAN shutting down

i have got cisco 2950T-24, in that vlan 2 has got ip address of 10.1.1.1 /24, it is up & running, now when i create vlan 3 interface & type "no shutdown", vlan 2 interface goes down, why is that so? how to i make both the interface up & running?

As others have said you are not creating a vlan , you are creating a layer 3 SVI . This is used to manage the switch only and thus you only need one address to do this , thus the switch shuts down the other SVI. To create a layer 2 vlan just do a "conf t" enter, type vlan XX where XX is the vlan number you want to create, enter . Verify with the "show vlan" command , should show the vlan you just created and it should show active .

My groups are lost after I create them and shut down and restart.. Very frustrating.

I create the tab groups during a session on my Imac desktop with 10.6 osx and firefox 4.0 but they are lost everytime I close and restart..

Battery doesn't charge AND frequent shut down when only on AC power

Hello all,
I've spent some time browsing and searching this forum to avoid asking a question that has already been answered but I haven't seen a complete answer to this situation so here goes.
I have a Lenovo 3000 N100 model 0768DKU. Battery (P/N 92P1185) started not charging/not holding a change about 6-8 months ago AND the laptop now abruptly shuts down even when on AC power. From the forum I found out about the 18 month battery replacement policy but I'm just a few months past the 18 months so out of luck there. Normally I would just buy a new battery but the last few months I've been getting very frequent shut downs when the laptop is exclusively on AC power even with the battery removed! This has kept me from buying a battery because the laptop won't stay on even when it's plugged into the wall then how will a battery help?
This has really thrown me for a loop since the laptop may run 30 minutes then it's dead like you pulled the power cord. Turn it back on maybe 10 minutes then dead, or 5 minutes then dead repeat over and over.
Steps I've taken since browsing the forums:
Virus scans/spyware are clean
Used compressed air on the fan vent to remove a little dust, opened up and sprayed out dust nothing major.
Speedfan is reporting cpu temperatures of 65C to 69C at 99% idle.
Reseated memory
Questions:
Would a new battery potentially solve this problem? I'm not sure how since it shuts down even with the battery removed and only the power cord plugged in.
Bad AC adapter?
Thermal problem? It looks like the cpu is still below temperature ranges based on Intel but it sure seem like a thermal problem to me the way it shuts down. I'm trying some new thermal grease tonight but not sure if that will realy make a difference.
Any suggestions, I'd hate for it to be motherboard, etc.
Sorry if this was answered elsewhere I've seen all the battery posts but not how the battery would address the fact the laptop shuts down even when on AC power with or without the battery installed.

Hard reset didn't work for me either, thanks for the tip it was worth a shot.
Thermal paste kept temps lower around 45C still suddenly shut off like usual while on AC power. 3, 5, minutes, etc. Doesn't appear to be thermal.
Could the "bad" battery somehow be messing up the power circuit and cutting off. Looks like the battery problem with these units is huge wish I'd been looking earlier since I was within the extended 18 month period at the time. Just want to hear that someone bought a battery and it fixed the problem....

Pop Up message at shut down

Everyday I am about to leave office I need to sign out from a web portal that we use to capture time at office.
How do I get a pop up message each time I try to shut down windows which will as a question to the user "Did you sign out from the web portal?".
The message box should appear with a "Yes" and a "No" button. If the user would click "No" the system should take it to the portal to sign out and if the user would click "Yes", windows continues to shut down.
We are currently using Windows 7.

While it is possible to create a script that runs at shut-down time, I do not think that this script can be interactive. You would need to create your own shut-down shortcut on the desktop. It would invoke a script consisting of two commands:
The prompt about the web portal.
The shut-down command.

The SVI is now there, but it won't come up. The SVI will not come up unless there is an active port in the VLAN in layer two. I often forget this fact and, after adding the SVIs, go off to create my VLANs only to find that none of them will come up. To illustrate the point, I'll assign an IP address to the CatOS management interface SC0, and place it in VLAN 20. This will put an active device in the VLAN:
CatOS-6509: (enable) set int sc0 20 10.20.20.20 255.255.255.0
Interface sc0 vlan set, IP address and netmask set.
Now, with something active in VLAN 20, the VLAN 20 SVI comes up in the MSFC:

CRXI Shuts down when clicking on Create New Connection

I have been working with both Crystal 8.5 and XI on my system together for a couple of years and have had no problems. I've been working primarily in 8.5 for the last several months and only needed to view a few reports in XI (without problem). Now I am trying to create a new connection in XI (version 11.0.0.1282) and it shuts down the Designer completely without any error message. I can't find the old knowledgebase that used to be on the Crystal Decisions website so I thought I would post here to see if anyone has heard of this issue.
Other mitigating factors may include VS2008 Pro installed on system in the last few months but since then I have created a new report in XI and 8.5 and run them in VB2008 with the Report Viewer as a test of a new program I want to build. That was just before Christmas.
I am probably going to have to reinstall but I am not sure if I have the latest version updates here. Is the above version the latest? And if not, where can I download the updates?

Photoshop CS4 shuts down only when creating new project.

I've had CS4 web premium since nov. 08 and everything worked fine until the most recent update from adobe.
I ONLY have this problem with Photoshop cs4: when creating a new project after selecting the aspects (name, width, hight, etc.) when you press ok it shuts down and no error is given as to why it shut down, it just does.
opening documents that had been created prior to the last update isn't a problem, I'm able to do everything Photoshop cs4 has to offer.
I can also open a file started in another program and edit them in PS CS4 (ie: fireworks , or AI).
but for some reason if I want to start a project in photoshop it just shuts down, never used to happen. any clues? any one else have a similar problem and know how to fix this?

I think you mean a new docuement - Photoshop doesn't have "projects".
Photoshop shouldn't "shut down" - there should be some message about a crash.
And the most likely causes at that point are OpenGL (try turning it off in prefs) and your default printer driver (try changing default printers).

Sorry for the late reply. My email firewall has become a little over zealous & sent a lot of my emails straight to my junk email folder, so I have only just now discovered your reply in my junk mail folder.
The only "don't open files exceeding xxx megabytes" instruction I can find in my Prefs, is in the Bridge Prefs for Thumbnails, & mine is set at 1000mb. The biggest files I handle are bigger than 200mb so I should be able to open a few, not just one.
However, this doesn't explain why I can open a psd format file of 180mb, close it, but then can't open a RAW format file of only 26mb immediately after.
I can open the RAW file only if I restart my computer - very annoying!
However, thanks for the advice about the video card & memory.
So, I'm still stuck as to what the issue is.

First thing to try is just to sign out on all your devices. If you can do that you can just sign in with the new ID. However if you've set up 'Find My iPhone' you won't be able to.
In that event go to http://iforgot.apple.com and sign in with your iCloud login. A new password will be sent to your associated email address. If this doesn't work you will have to contact Support. Go to https://getsupport.apple.com . Click' See all products and services', then 'More Products and Services, then 'Apple ID', then 'Other Apple ID Topics' then 'Lost or forgotten Apple ID password'.
