IP Address Whitelisting - Failure
[Starting a new thread in case replies to other threads don't receive attention]
Hi,
Echoing many previous posts on this topic, I am unable to successfully whitelist one of my mail servers' IP addresses using the online whitelist functionality. I have submitted a request using:
http://my.verizon.com/micro/whitelist/RequestForm.aspx?id=isp
and receive the response that the IP will not be whitelisted:
"Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned
No Reverse Hostname associated with your IP address."
The IP address concerned is a static, assigned address, there is a valid reverse DNS entry, and I am not aware of any "spam issues" at all - in fact, a check against some 235 RBLs confirms there is not a problem.
I am unable to reply to the [email protected] address with further information because (ironically) my mail server is blocked!!
Could I ask that this is escalated to someone that can resolve the issue? I have hosted customers that are currently unable to send to any Verizon-provided address, and I can see no reason why.
Thank you.

IP Address Whitelisting - Failure
Repeating several previous posts on this topic, I cannot successfully whitelist my servers' IP addresses using the online whitelist functionality. I have submitted a request using:
http://my.verizon.com/micro/whitelist/RequestForm.aspx?id=isp
and received the following response:
"Your IP has been blocked because of spam issues or because your ISP indicates that it is dynamically assigned"
The IP address used is a static, assigned address, there is a valid reverse DNS entry, and there are no spam issues - the ip address is not listed in any RBLs.
I would like this escalated to someone that can resolve the issue. I have customers that cannot send to any Verizon-provided address.Hi thewebcorner,
Your issue has been escalated to a Verizon agent. Before the agent can begin assisting you, they will need to collect further information from you. Please go to your profile page for the forum and look at the top of the middle column where you will find an area titled "My Support Cases". You can reach your profile page by clicking on your name beside your post, or at the top left of this page underneath the title of the board.
Under "My Support Cases" you will find a link to the private board where you and the agent may exchange information. The title of your post is the link. This should be checked on a frequent basis, as the agent may be waiting for information from you before they can proceed with any actions. To ensure you know when they have responded to you, at the top of your support case there is a drop down menu for support case options. Open that and choose "subscribe". Please keep all correspondence regarding your issue in the private support portal. -
Address book searching failures revisited
I tried the solution given here:
http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=6992129
However, if I type "rag" in the address book search field, it finds two contacts without highlighting any string within them. Furthermore, I can't see "rag" there.
Any explanations?Austin Kinsella1 wrote:
Quit Address Book and drag ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook/AddressBook-v22.abcddb to the desktop. It will be rebuilt from the details in Metadata when you restart AB. I find this fixes the problem - but I don't know what causes it.

Do you mean the new Offline Address Book has been set to default and can be updated successfully? And now, the new issue is that send/receive hang on "Offline address book Connecting to Microsoft Exchange" and will never finish. Is it right?
The following link is a general discussion thread about the same issue. Please refer to it for more helpful suggestions or you can run Test E-mail AutoConfiguration tool and collect some error descriptions to open a new case
for more troubleshooting.

Is there a way to find out if a particular email address (eg. [email protected]) doesn't exisit without sending an actual email message to that particular address. (through java mail api's)
If you are sending an email to an internal network, you might be able to resolve the SMTP address via LDAP.
This will not solve you issue if there was a problem in EMAIL routing (i.e. mail server down, bad SMTP address from LDAP, etc.)
What I had to do for my application was write a program using JavaMail to read the INBOX, looking for returned messages. This is something you will have to experiment with becuse the layout of the returned messaeg may be in several different formats :-(
In almost every case that I have found, you can parse out the email address causing the failure, the subject, and (in many cases) the original message causing the failure.
Needless to say, this is a very heavy "text-processing" task.
Good luck. If you do find a way to resolve email addresses, post your findings to this group!!!

AMT Subsystem Failure Error is Ridiculous!
So, I finally decided to purchase my very own copy of CS3 several months ago (about 6) after using CS2 at work for a number of years. I figured it would be a good time to get it since I am a college student right now so I qualified for the academic version (an old one, having gone back after many years out, but a college student none-the-less...LOL!) It has been nothing but problems since I got it! I never experienced anything like this with Adobe Product before and I have been using them for over 20 year (all the way back to Aldus Pagemaker even!)
It worked great for about 4 months, not a problem at all, then all of the sudden I started getting this stupid AMT failure message:
AMT Subsystem Failure
The licensing subsystem has failed catastrophically. You must reinstall or call customer support.
I tried calling support (outsourced support obviously, as they were VERY hard to understand on the phone and I talked to no less than three different people). Removed and reinstalled only to have it creep back up over and over again. I got sick of removing and reinstalling it and since Adobe was no help at all started troubleshooting and logging the problem.
Could this be a RAM issue? My dual core desktop iMac is maxed out, so if it is there is nothing more I can do. :(
Basically, when I start the machine I can open all my CS programs first, before any other programs (AI, ID, PS, DW, and Acrobat). I am pretty much good to go and can then open all my other programs and begin working for the day. But, if one of the CS3 programs stalls on me, which seems to happen daily, causing me to force quit it. It will not longer open and gives me the error message above.
Then I have to restart my blasted machine and start all over, with all programs opening fine after the restart. Anyone else got any theories or has Adobe even addressed this AMT failure which, judging from a Google Search, seems to be a widespread problem across both PC and Mac platforms?
My initial thought is it's a RAM issue because all works fine after a restart and only starts acting up as the day goes on, forcing another restart to begin any kind of work flow again.I have the following tail ends of the log files that might help in
debugging this issue:

Email Alerts for Scheduled Backup Failures on Cisco UCM?
Hi,
I never set this up before or know if this is possible. Can I setup email alerts on Cisco UCM 8.X when a scheduled backup fails?
I specified the SMTP host under the OS administration page, but that is it.
Please let me know if this is possible and if so how I can set this up?
Thank you in advanced!

You'll be looking for the CiscoDRFFailure in Alert Central of RTMT. The alert can be configured to send a free text alert to an email address on backup failure. -
Hello.
We're running a NW6.5.8 machine on a HP Proliant ML350 G3. The server works
well since several years. Three weeks ago the server makes some problems.
After restarting the machine the memory runs low after 3 or for days. I
can't see a reason for this.
Do you have an idea for this?
Here is my config.txt of this machine:

; This is a sample of the slp configuration file.
; Two types of entries can be made: 1) DA entries, 2) SA Register Filters.
; The DA entry allows static configuration of a known DA. This would be
used
; when the DA was out of multicast range and DHCP was not being used to
; configure the DA.
; The static DA configuration format is as follows 'DA <addr type>,
<addr>'.
; The first word must be "DA". The addr type is the address type.
Currently, only
; IPV4 has been defined. IPV6 will be defined in the future. The addr is
; the address specified.
; The following is an example of a static DA.
; DA IPV4, 130.1.1.1
; The SA Register Filter would be used when the administrator wanted all
services
; of a specific service type being mapped to a single scope. For example,
; the administrator wanted all "lpr" printers being registered to scope
"printer".
; The format is as follows: 'REGISTER TYPE "<type name>" to SCOPE "<scope
name>"'.
; The parser will look for REGISTER, TYPE, and SCOPE as keywords followed
by quote on
; a single line. Example:
; REGISTER TYPE "lpr" to SCOPE "eng"
; The last line must contain a line feed and char return. A semi-colon
specifies a
; comment.

; This is a sample of the slp configuration file.
; Two types of entries can be made: 1) DA entries, 2) SA Register Filters.
; The DA entry allows static configuration of a known DA.
A semi-colon
specifies a
; comment.

I work for directNIC.com and our customers who are located in foreign countries are unable to send/receive email on their blackberry devices. The problem started at the beginning of this month and we can not figure out what the problem is. Our U.S. blackberry customers are not having any problems. Our non-U.S. customers have reported errors such as needing to revalidate the account and when they tried to they received an invalid domain or invalid username/password message. Some customers said the email just quit working and they received an unable to connect error message. I've had one customer provide me with a link to their wireless provider's blackberry email account setup and I am unable to setup their email account there or any email account that uses any of our servers. All of our customer's email accounts work in their email clients on their computers, their other phones, and through their webmail it is only their blackberries. We've white listed all of blackberry's IP addresses and we've checked the server logs to see if there were any connection attempts when I tried to setup the email accounts through the customer's online blackberry interface and there wasn't even an attempt to connect to the server. The error message that I receive is as follows:
Email address domain not found:
The email address domain 'insert domain name here' cannot be found. Please verify this
information is correct. If the error persists contact 'insert domain name here' (your
email provider)
The problem isn't with just one wireless provider it's with multiple providers in multiple countries but the U.S. customers aren't reporting any problems. I am able to setup my personal email account through his blackberry site, an email account from my work through his blackberry site, my yahoo.com email address, and my hotmail.com email address. The only email accounts that do not work are the email accounts that are on any of our servers. Some of these servers have different server configuration but all of them have all of blackberry's IP addresses whitelisted. Our premium hostng email servers have the same software installed on them as my work email server does and my work email account works fine when I try to set it up through blackberry but none of the premium hosting email accounts that I tried to setup through this customers interface will work. The problem is only with blackberry devices and is only with customers outside of the U.S. If anyone has any thoughts or ideas please let us know.
Thanks,
Priscilla

Hello, I have a sql 2005 server, and I am a developer, with the database on my own machine. It alwayws works for me but after some minutes the other developer cant work in the application
He got this error
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
and When I see the log event after that error, it comes with another error.
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: 192.168.1.140]
He has IIS5 and me too.
I created a user on the domain called ASPSYS with password, then in the IIS on anonymous authentication I put that user with that password, and it works, on both machines.
and in the connection string I have.
<add key="sqlconn" value="Data Source=ESTACION15;Initial Catalog=GescomDefinitiva;Integrated Security=SSPI; Trusted_Connection=true"/>
I go to the profiler, and I see that when he browses a page, the database is accesed with user ASPSYS, but when I browse a page, the database is accesed with user SE\levalencia.
Thats strange.
The only way that the other developer can work again on the project is to restart the whole machine. He has windows xp profession, I have windows 2000.
If you want me to send logs please tellmeWell here's my problem, maybe you can help. Intermittenly I get a login failed when connecting to a db engine through Server Management Studio using Windows authentication. When this happens the following entries are generated on the server's application event log:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (4)
Event ID: 17806
Date: 1/14/2009
Time: 10:41:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <server name>
Description:
SSPI handshake failed with error code 0x8009030c while establishing a connection with integrated security; the connection has been closed. [CLIENT: <ip address>]
Event Type: Failure Audit
Event Source: MSSQLSERVER
Event Category: (4)
Event ID: 18452
Date: 1/14/2009
Time: 10:41:31 AM
User: N/A
Computer: <server name>
Description:
Login failed for user ''. The user is not associated with a trusted SQL Server connection. [CLIENT: <ip address>]
I've already ensured that the server is set to mixed authentication mode. Oddly enough, the workaround that I've found is that if I remote desktop into the server, log in and then log back out, Management Studio is suddenly able to connect again. No idea why it works.
As I said before, it is intermitten. Some days it errors on login, other days it doesn't and there are no configuration changes between them. Also, both client and server are in the same domain and same site so there is no VPN or anything in between. I'm really quite stumped. Any help would be great, or if you can point me in the right direction of where to look. Thank you in advance! -
How to deal with dwindling space on the server.
Hi everyone,I have to imagine this topic has been discussed at length here, but my Google Fu seems to be rather weak, as I haven't found anything that really addresses this question for me. I'm on month #3 in my first non-hotel IT job and I'm looking to help the company out by implementing a systems management solution that takes care of a number of challenges we're encountering.
In a nutshell, we are a SaaS shop with Windows, Linux, and Mac systems. Servers are mostly Windows-based, all virtualized (VMware 5.5), with two data centers and four branch offices around the country. We currently use Kaseya for remote desktop (and want to get rid of it), WSUS for Windows patches, Puppet (from what I've heard) for Linux patches, and don't have anything for Mac. We have some sort of hardware device for vulnerability scanning, and don't have a...Alban CAT, a family owned and operated caterpillar dealer, streamlines diagnostics and repair operations with Panasonic Toughbook computers. Corrupt Data - Oracle 8i - Recovery
Hello, It seems that a RAID has failed on my old server and is causing the Oracle 8i database not to start. I understand this is an old product and is no longer supported but hopefully someone has some insight. I have both the two individual data MDF files that I used plus the SYSTEM01.MDF and such. Although I have a feeling they may be corrupted. I spent this weekend looking into a solution. I found some old CSV which I imported back but I am still missing loads of data. Is there any way to open the MDF for export, through maybe C#, or even a tool out there. I think the RAID corrupted the file, so its not as easy as Installing 8i again and the putting them back. (Tried that). I've tried many programs out there to view the MDF with no luck.
When I load in with the 8i SQL Admin, I can see the database but when I try to open it says it is offline. When I try to turn it online I get : ORA-01110: data file 1: 'D:\ORACLE\ORADATA\...\SYSTEM01.DBF' (The file also changes for my data files). I can repair the SYSTEM01, but I cannot repair the individual database MDF files as I need that data. I have no problem paying for a solution if there is a company out there that can repair old databases and at least recover 90% of the data. Normally the file is 1.7Gigs but the actual use is around 300Megs. So it can't all be corrupt, right?
And insights would be helpful!Don't think we can help you.
Take Ed's advice and call Oracle Support. Oracle files are in a proprietary format.
>
we had a raid 5 fail, so the redundancy took over
>
Clearly 'redundancy' did not take over or you wouldn't have a problem.
From what you describe someone made some serious mistakes already that compounded whatever problem there was to begin with.
RAID 5 can lose one drive and not lose any data at all; all data is available from the remaining drives.
So if 'RAID 5' failed it means that more than one drive failed or the raid hardware/software itself failed. That means you lost more than Oracle and you need a data recovery service to have any hope of restoring your data.
So first you have to address the 'RAID' failure before you will be able to try to recover anything at all, let alone Oracle.
Suggest you go address the RAID failure. Then if the disks (or remaining disks) themselves have been recovered you may (or may not) be able to salvage the Oracle files.
>
I just booted the machine and then killed the Oracle services
>
Forget RAID. If you did this that is an excellent way to corrupt the database. If you had RAID5 then depending on the actually failure you may very well have actually caused the corruption yourself by doing this.
So I don't mean to sound harsh but if did what you say you did and you don't know what 'Mount' means then you are not the one to even attempty to recover your data. -
How To get low MTW emails to pass?
We have some offsite marketing people who have an email address that is hosted through wowway.com (local cable company) and their email is getting rejected due to low MTA. We only have one email policy running on our C160 and have the address whitelisted, and placed them in the HAT exception table. This did not work. Next test I tried was to make a new mail policy with just our low MTA sender a member of this policy. In that policy I disabled anit-spam checking, and this did not work.
Are these people at the mercy of the results of senderbase.org, and have to wait until their score is raised to get mail to flow again, or is there a way to allow these senders?
Thanks for any help.Under Network, Listeners, On your listerner name for Incoming Mail, click on HAT. From there, create a "Greylist" and place it above all other Sender Groups. Use the accepted policy and edit settings. On SBRS, leave both field blank and Submit. Then in the Sender List, add the IP addresses of the domain your having problems with.
We use this on a daily basis to get emails in from our clients. All AV and AS scanning will stil take place, just SenderBase will be bypassed.
