Ip_arp_done: init failed with iprb device

Hi all,
Solaris x86 3/05 (FCS) unpatched: After a reboot, my iprb0 network interface ends up with the same IP as the loopback interface, is marked down, has no route, and doesn't work until I manually ifconfig it. It seems to work fine after the manual ifconfig, though. The "ip_arp_done: init failed" message appears in the system log, which implies to me that iprb isn't getting going like it should at boot. This machine suffered a disk failure, Solaris was reinstalled, and I'm afraid I missed some step required to get iprb going at boot though I don't recall this problem (nor the "ip_arp_done" message) immediately following the reinstallation and subsequent reboots.
The /etc/hostname.iprb0 file and the driver's announcement in the system log all seem fine.
Does anyone have any insight into this problem?
Thanks very much,
Dave

  • BPM_DATA_COLLECTION fails with (Output device "" not known) error

    Hi all,
    I have an issue with Output BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 job in the satellite system  failing with 'Output device "" not known error.  Since it is collecting data for Solution Manager system why does is it trying to find an output device.
    It did not fail before and now I added another key figure (custom one) which is done the same way the other custom monitors are done in "Z_BPM_ECU_COLLECTOR" report and then in /SSA/EXM program, but the collector job started to fail.
    Also, for some reason there are two BPM_DATA_COLLECTION jobs, one is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_1 and the other is BPM_DATA_COLLECTION_2.  _1 runs every 5 min and _2 is less frequent. They both seem to runt the same job which is /SSA/EXS. Why are there two jobs scheduled from solution manager in my satellite system?
    Thank you very much for your help!

    I am experiencing this same issue in our ECC 6.0 system.  We currently have ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001 applied to our system.  These jobs finish successfully in SM37, but I'm seeing the same error messages in our system logs (SM21).
    When I try to update the output device that is associated with these jobs, the user ID running the jobs is not valid since it's user type is Communication Data.
    Does anyone know if it ok to change the user for this job? Should it be run by DDIC?  I believe the jobs were created automatically when we applied ST-A/PI release 01M_ECC600 level 0001.

    system works - a little slow, but - perfectly.
    yesterday, i found it's time for a reboot.
    :( i am no longer able to start my nic interfaces, error is:
    ip_arp_done: init failed
    hme0 is correctly configured, qfe0 not, it gets hme0's ip.
    NOTA: NO CHANGES in /etc/<files>
    i googled and found a lot of threads, all pointing to
    misconfigured /etc/<files>, this is not the case.
    i am pretty sure, is not a hw-issue (removed qfe[0-3] +
    configure hme0 as dhcp = the same error

    sure, i can reinstall the os, but that is not my way

    I have an olde iMac that once I have an older iMAC that once burned CD's with no issues. Now I get an error message saying "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The device is not accessible, probably because it was removed". I have never had it touched so the device was not removed. Please advise as to what could be the problem. How to fix. Thanks

    Try resetting the SMC and PRAM first, if that doesn't help try a cleaning disc.....and then buy an inexpensive external burner. Slimline super drive failures are all too common.
    To reset the SMC
    Shut down the computer.
    Unplug the computer's power cord.
    Wait fifteen seconds.
    Attach the computer's power cord.
    Wait five seconds, then press the power button to turn on the computer.
    Resetting NVRAM / PRAM
    Shut down your Mac.
    Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command (⌘), Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
    Turn on the computer.
    Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys before the gray screen appears.
    Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
    Release the keys.

    Hi, I was able to reformat my iPod and that worked. I read it on one of the threads and I am copy pasting the method below:
    I opened the "My Computer" window and right-clicked on my ipod, and then selected "Format". I select "Yes" to format since I don't have anything on the nano to delete anymore.
    I then Eject my nano from the computer and did a restart while the nano is disconnected from the computer.
    Once Windows finish loading I reconnect the USB to the nano(back of computer) which automatically pulls up iTune. It asked me to name the new ipod detected and created a playlist for that specific ipod name.

  • Windows 8 backup (Win7 File Recovery system image) creation to NAS device fails with error 0x807800C5

    Hi,
    I have a ZyXEL NSA310 NAS device on my network that I use for backups (as well as a media server). I have been very happy with it as, amongst other things, it has a gigabit Ethernet connection. I recently upgraded my home laptop from Win7 Pro to Win8
    Pro. Under Win7 the NAS device worked perfectly as the backup target. I could back up file sets and - most importantly to me - create a system image on the device should I need to restore the system in the event of a full disk failure.
    When I upgraded to Win8 it kept the Win7 settings and it looked like it was just going to work, then as it came to create the system image it failed with error code 0x807800C5 and message "The version does not support this version of the file format".
    I have searched the internet and seen that others have had similar issues on Win7 and Win8 with NAS devices where they have had to hack the device to get it working - though it isn't clear that this has been successful for everyone. This isn't an option
    for me as the NSA310 is a closed device and in any event I don't see why I should have to hack the device when clearly this is a Win8 issue (since Win7 worked perfectly).
    Does anyone have any ideas how to fix this issue so that I can create the full backups I require?
    Thanks,
    Phil

    Thanks willis! I will look into the iSCSI route. A quick Google search and I can see some mention of the NSA310 and iSCSI so maybe it does support it.
    One question: Have you ever attempted to restore a system image from a NAS iSCSI device with a Win8 Restore Disk? Is it easy? I just want to be sure that it is possible to do so in case the worst happens and I need to restore the entire image onto a
    new disk.
    Hopefully Microsoft will fix the issue with the standard NAS setup with an update in the future, but I don't want to wait for it.
    Thanks again,
    Phil
    Hi Phil,  No I have not had to do this yet, but I see no reason why it shouldn't work as the iSCSI disk looks just like a regular hard disk to the OS. I agree that Microsoft should fix the direct NAS support as the iSCSI approach does have the downside
    of dedicating a fixed chunk of your NAS drive to the iSCSI disk that you have to choose when you create the disk whereas the direct NAS just uses the actual space currently needed by the backup. Also I had some trouble getting authentication (access rights)
    to work so I left the iSCSI portal as open access - which is OK for a home solution but not a good idea in general. I will revisit this for my own setup and see if I can get it working but just wanted to mention it in case you have the same issue. It manifests
    itself as not being able to connect to the iSCSI portal due to failed authentication when running iSCSI initiator setup.

    I have just upgraded to Windows 8 and my scyning and upgrading my phone with new apple software fails, Itunes looses connection with the device (phone), cant backup the phone or download new software, is this an issues with Windows

    Hi, stig2013.
    I would recommend the steps in the article below.  See the section labeled Verify that the Apple Mobile Device USB Driver is installed > For Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8 > Update the Apple Mobile Device Driver.
    iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
    If you are receiving an error message, find the exact error number that you recieved in the article below and process the steps.
    iTunes: Specific update-and-restore error messages and advanced troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3694
    This error occurs when the device unexpectedly loses its USB connection with iTunes. This can occur if you manually disconnect the device during the restore process. You can resolve this issue by using USB troubleshooting, using a different Dock Connector or Lightning Connector to USB cable, trying another USB port, restoring on another computer, or by eliminating conflicts from third-party security software.
    Cheers,
    Jason H.

    This is a standard error message.
    If you would have checked into the bootcamp forum you would have instantly found the solution.
    http://discussions.apple.com/forum.jspa?forumID=1244&start=0
    All that error message means is that you do not have enough conguous disk space available. No big deal at all for an older system. You have bits of files strewn over the "free space."
    The solution as you would find in the bootcamp forum is to clone your HD, using a file-file clone, then test the clone to be sure it is working and then to erase your HD and clone back.
    Works every time.

  • SSL - Default SSL context init failed: null - need help with code

    Hi!
    Once Again I have problems with SSL.
    I read something about SSL here:
    http://www.javaalmanac.com/egs/javax.net.ssl/Server.html
    Now I tried to test this stuff, that resulted in this program (I simply tried to put the SSL stuff from the above code in a small skeleton):
    import java.io.*;
    import java.net.*;
    import java.security.*;
    import javax.net.ssl.*;
    import javax.net.*;
    public class MyServer
         public static void main(String arguments[])
         try
              int port = 443;
              ServerSocketFactory ssocketFactory = SSLServerSocketFactory.getDefault();
              ServerSocket ssocket = ssocketFactory.createServerSocket(port);
              // Listen for connections
              Socket socket = ssocket.accept();
              System.out.println("Connected successfully");
              // Create streams to securely send and receive data to the client
              InputStream in = socket.getInputStream();
              OutputStream out = socket.getOutputStream();
              // Read from in and write to out...
              // Close the socket
              in.close();
              out.close();
         catch(IOException e)
              System.out.println("GetMessage() = "+e.getMessage());
              e.printStackTrace();
    }     Now I compiled this stuff with : 'javac MyServer.java' - there were no errors. After this I run the program
    with the following command (also taken from java almanac):
    'java -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStore=mySrvKeystore -Djavax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword=123456 MyServer'
    But if I run it, it reports:
    "GetMessage() = Default SSL context init failed: null
    java.net.SocketException: Default SSL context init failed: null
    at javax.net.ssl.DefaultSSLServerSocketFactory.createServerSocket(Dasho
    6275)
    at MyServer.main(MyServer.java:15)"
    createServerSocket() seems to be the wrong line, but what is wrong with it.
    Is there any mistake in my code ?
    Btw. I created my keystore etc. according to the instructions at
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jsp?forum=2&thread=528092&tstart=0&trange=15
    Any help appreciated

    I got this error last week.
    The problem was that the keystore I was pointing to, was in other location, so it could not initialize the default context.
    I had defined ...
    String CLIENT_CERTIFPATH = getParam("client.certificate.path", "/users/pridas/myKeystoreFile");
    // getParam extracts the location of the keystore from a text file which contains some configuration parameters. The default value will be /users/pridas/myKeystoreFile
    In my case, I will try to develop a secure SOAP conexion using certificates.
    Before to try the conexion, I defined ...
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", CLIENT_CERTIFPATH);
    System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", CLIENT_CERTIFPATH);
    ... and the problem when I got this error ... the keystore file was not in the correct location.
    That was how I resolved this error.
    I hope everybody will be oriented about this kind of errors.
    Salu2.

  • SSL Init failed: Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect

    Hi all,
    I encountered the following error while I try to get the output stream to write out the content into an HTTPS connection.

          _respMsg = _conn.getResponseMessage();
        catch (IOException ex)
          throw ex
      }Due to the server is deployed in clustered env, I have put the truststore and keystore in a shared folder which allows the nodes to access. Thus in my code I have set the truststore, keystore location and the truststore, keystore password in the System properties as follow.
          System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStore", getKeyStore());
          System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.keyStorePassword", getKeyStorePass());
          System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStore", getTrustStore());
          System.setProperty("javax.net.ssl.trustStorePassword", getTrustStore());The getKeyStore() and getTrustStore() will be returned the path to the shared folder which contain the truststore/keystore respectively.
    The keystore tampered error only happened intermitently. I am sure that my keystore and truststore password is set correctly.
    Could I know that is the keystore designed in a way that it can be accessed by multiple thread? will there be any file locking on the keystore while two thread trying to init the HTTPS and eventually cause the keystore tampered problem?
    Thanks

    In my case, I am certain that all fields are correct, because the code works half the time. The thing is my code is running inside Tomcat (as a servlet); I am noticing that whenever I update my Jar with any code change and restart Tomcat, I am hitting this issue intermittently. Another update-and-restart sometimes solves the problem & my connection establishment is successful.
    There are 2 key things I would like to know:
    1) Difference b/w the exception messages "<span class="jive-subject"> Keystore was tampered with, or password was incorrect
    " and " failed to decrypt safe contents entry ".
    2) Whether any caching is going on because of Tomcat being in the picture (although I am not at all sure why this should happen).
    Would love to get through with this ASAP. Please let me know your thoughts if any.
    Thanks,
    Vivek

    Hi!
    I can no longer use CCA :-)
    I tried everything, but when I enter user and password after waiting a few tens of seconds I get the following error window: "Failed to authenticate with the device at ip.ip.ip.ip using TELNET. TELNET access is required for access to voice configuration. Cannot continue. Exiting CCA."
