IP DWDM Port Compatibility

Hi
We Work in the network that it is based on ONS 15454  for "Transmission".
we used 15454-M-10X10G-LC card for 10G transmission network.
In the client side, Can we connect the client Ports of this card directly to the ws_x6704 Ports ? are there compatible or not ?
with best regards

I feel you can change the port range from 52000 to 61000 as this port range is assigned for client applications to connect to a server on a dedicated port .
Check by changing the range . If that works it should be fine, as you will not have 9000 client applications connecting to a sever from the system .

  • Airport Express Ethernet port compatability

I have my Tivo hardwired to my Airport Extreme in another room. I just bought an AppleTV, thinking I could use the Ethernet port to connect to the Tivo and then wirelessly connect everything back to the Airport Extreme with no cables.
Apple didn't have any official answers except that it's not supported. Can I possibly use my now abandoned Airport Express as a way to put the Tivo's ethernet on the wireless network. I hate to buy more hardware.
    Any ideas?

Hello John153. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
In order to enable the Ethernet port of the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), the AX needs to be configured as either a remote or relay base station in a Wireless Distribution System (WDS) with either your AirPort Extreme Base Station (AEBS) or the Time Capsule (TC).
I'm afraid I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. I assume that the Tivo has a single Ethernet port and you have this connected directly to the AEBS which, in turn, is connected to the Internet ... correct?
You cannot use either the TC or the AX as a wireless adapter for the Tivo. However, if you have the TC configured in a WDS with the AEBS, you could use one of the TC's available LAN ports for the Tivo.

  • ASR 9001 SFP+ ports compatibility

    Hi,
will the SFP+ ports on the 9001 chassis support a 1 Gbps SFP?
    which one?
    Thanks a lot.
    Regards,

    Hi Jordi,
    The ports only do 10Gbps.
For 1Gbps you will need the 20x1GE MPA.

  • Is eSATA compatable with SATA2 drives?

I have pavilion dv3000 laptop with eSATA port. Have run SATA external drives successfully.
I purchased larger SATA 2 drive (1.5TB) for backup data and computer will not recognise the drive using eSATA connection yet it does when I connect via USB.  I want to use SATA connection because of speed advantage.
Is the eSATA port compatable with SATA2?  If not, whats a fix?
    Peter

Try partitioning your external 1.5 TB hard drive to something smaller than 1 TB (maybe two equal partitions).  Your system may have a size limitation on the sata HD size.
I use an esata external enclosure containing a sata drive and I connect it to an internal sata port that I extended to the back of my PC.  I can also use this device with the esata ports on my PC. It work both ways for me. Also works with USB since my enclosure has both port types.  I see about 70 MBps using my 7200 rpm external HD. Almost twice that of USB2.

  • Etherchannel and port suspended

    hi all,
i created an etherchannel on my 4507 leading to a 3750. i did it the way i always do that works. when i put a specific port into the channel, it goes into "suspended" line protocol. what does this mean?

    Etherchannel
"Some messages from the switch might look like errors but are part of the normal EtherChannel process. For example, as a new port is configured as a member of an existing EtherChannel, you might see this message:
4d00h: %EC-5-L3DONTBNDL2: FastEthernet0/2 suspended: incompatible partner port with
    FastEthernet0/1
When the port first is added to the EtherChannel, it is incompatible because the STP runs on the channel and the new port. After STP takes the new port through its progression of states, the port automatically is added into the EtherChannel.
Other messages do indicate a port-compatibility error. In these cases, the cause of the error is shown. For example, the following message tells that FastEthernet0/3 has a different duplex mode than the other ports in the EtherChannel:
    4d00h: %EC-5-CANNOT_BUNDLE2: FastEthernet0/3 is not compatible with FastEthernet0/1
and will be suspended (duplex of Fa0/3 is full, Fa0/1 is half)
Are you sure you have the same configs on each side?

his may not be your situation, BUT.........
When I purchased my new 80G I-Pod, I did not think to
    confirm USB port compatability.
My iMac has USB 1.1 ports, and this new Pod
    requires USB 2.0.
uring a nightmarish 14-hr period of Five R's, Disc
mode, software hunts, and even a retry on Tunes 6, I
got every error message imaginable and still no
    luck.
Tech Support tells me that I must have 2.0 ports, so
I have just ordered an accessory for my new
I-Pod.......... the new 24" Core 2 Duo iMac.
If your desktop machine has only USB 1.1 ports, try
to find a friend with USB 2.0 ports, and
Tunes............. or maybe buy a new accessory.
Hope I was of some use

  • 2011 Macbook Pro 13" & WD My Book Essential 2TB USB 3.0.

    Hi
I have a Macbook pro 13" that I bought in Late 2011. I just bought a WD My Book Essential 2 TB USB 3.0 External Hard drive, but its not unmounting/reformatting? Have I made a huge mistake in buying the hard drive??!
    Thanks

Does this model externally enclosed USB 3.0 HDD require a power adapter, or does it run using port power from the computer?
For whatever reason, it would appear that this drive incorrectly 'unmounts' when the computer goes to sleep; so perhaps the lack of port power or connection to a live port, implies the same thing as an unplugged memory media.
Do you have a powered USB hub? Is the 'WD My Book' self-powered with its own mains power adapter?
I'd see about getting a FireWire or Thunderbolt external drive for a backup, with power adapter, and check into detail concerning brand and controller chipset in such a device. There are some fairly nice ones I've seen at OWC otherworldcomputing online, they have what appears to be good Mac compatible hardware; according to other user experiences. The OWC storage options have a variety of port compatibility.
    {Previous experience with WD in Macintosh, also Kingston RAM in Macintosh, keep me clear of them. No matter of how great others may find them now. I've fixed too many issues based on low-end parts.}
To get a better configuration of hard disk drive, enclosure, & connection-type is recommended. I've used self-powered FireWire400/800 externally enclosed HDDs with oxford-type chipsets as a preference. Now there are other options, though and a few faster ones entice to match up with newer expectation.
Not sure if this helps much...

  • Mini a1176 - 2.16ghz core 2 duo - second monitor

    hey all,
recently picked up a used mini, core 2 duo @ 2.16ghz, model a1176 to replace my aging g5 and boy do i miss my second monitor.
i have seen usb video cards and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to what to get and, how it will impact the overall performance of the machine.  i.e. if there are different options, which would run a second screen better with a better refresh rate.
any suggestion is appreciated!  my budget would be sub $100 as i am also looking to upgrade the ram from 2gb to 3gb.
    many thanks

  • Mac Mini 2009 not recognizing second display

I have a Mac Mini (late 2009) and I have connected two monitors via a VGA splitter. Both screens are working and displaying the image of the screen, but I want an extended desktop and when I try to change the display preferences it says "the arrangements pane has been hidden because you only have one monitor connected". Detect displays does not work, and neither does restarting the computer/turning screens on and off. Help!

Hi, a spitter won't work for this, it simply "splits" a single signal out to monitors for mirroring, the splitter look like one monitor to the computer.

  • Open Serial Driver VI runs in user interface thread - why?

I know the serial port compatibility functions are "phased out" and you should use the newer VISA functions - but why on earth is the open serial driver VI set to run in the user interface thread?  If you happen to use these compatibility VIs your serial communication will be blocked by e.g. a user that opens the calendar view of a date and time control...- and the only reason for that is that that particular VI is running in the user interface.
Change the thread of that VI - and the serial communication runs as it should, so why is it that that particular VI, unlike all the other VIs in that library, is configured that way?

  • New macbook air can't detect huawei 353

I had bought recently these two USB Dongles (Huawei 353 and 357 models) of Smartbro of Smart Telecom Philippines and Globe Tattoo of Globe Telecom Philippines... these two recently was active and functional when I was using it in my old MacBook Air 4,1 using OS Lion. But now when I purchased new MacBook Air 5,1 (configured to higher specs) using OS Mountain Lion plug the device with the 3.0 port of my new MBA it won't detect nor appear as icon on the screen. I already tried two dongle devices one at a time and wait to be detected but to my dismay...NO DEVICES DETECTED... Kindly help anyone... 'coz I already tried vendor software for its drivers to my new MBA but it doesn't work too... Tnx in Advance and God Bless...(",)

Hi Sir heymigs... tnx..I appreciate your experience and concern regarding my undetected USB DONGLE devices of SMART Telecom and GLOBE Telecom under my MBA 11, Mid 2012 OS X Mountain Lion. But.. still i'm hoping there will be solution on this...
Im still looking and dowloading some (software) drivers for these DEVICES- install/uninstall to my MBA 11 Mid 2012 esp. its hardware 3.0 USB port compatibility issues. To my eager, I already plug these two DONGLES DEVICES in my IMac 21.5 Mid 2011 using OS X Mountain Lion 10.8 upgraded from OS X Lion 10.7 and the result with no hassles the DEVICES were DETECTED and INSTALLED smoothly.
Hoping that this drawbacks (problems) will be given attention by the MAC people concerns...otherwise it will not be responsible or reasonable to own some gadgets with INCOMPATIBLE issues in OS X..
Appreciating all of your concerns.. tnx
