IP line profile set at 2000kbps Why?

Hi.
I have been with BT for many years and have not really understood why my connection is so slow. It would appear that my IP profile is set at 2000kbps . Can anyone please tell me why or how I can get this improved? Am on the verge of leaving BT as Orange have promised better.
Many thanks in advance.
Mike
Solved!
Go to Solution.

Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.62 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600 Kbps-7.15 Mbps.
 Additional Information:
 Your DSL Connection Rate :8.13 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7.15 Mbps
Well as you can see the mods fixed the ip profile issue for me and for this time of day 1.62Mbps is not that bad !
It was up at 6Mbps this morning so am well pleased.
Thank you so much.

  • LINE PROFILE SET AT ON MEG UPGRADE!!!!!!

Can anyone tell me when you do a btspeedtest what there ip line profile on download is for those getting the 80 Meg upload and say you was getting around Meg As im confused i have done the upgrade from 40/10 to 80/20 which before upgrade i was getting 37 Meg and around 8 upload which was fine for over 9 months service  however i then agreed for the update and another Months in to a contract to find my ip line has been set to 46.5 Meg download and upload ip has been set to 20 Meg i have since been in touch today with technical levels and then after more effort got it raised to tech to now be told my line has been capped to 46.5 Meg and will need to be uncapped via bt wholesale I was lead to believe via ofcom this is now illegal what bt are doing any one views or experience be great

Hang on, you got estimated the speed you're getting and there's a problem?
Your line profile will always show 20meg even if you're not connected at that - that's how the tester reports it.
The reason you have an IP profile of 46.5meg is because your connection rate between your modem and the cab is somewhere around 48meg - right in line with the estimation you were provided.
The IP profile is wholly dependant on the connection rate of your line, which in turn is dependant on the distance you are from the cabinet and the quality of your cable.
Ultimately you've been quoted a speed which you're achieving so I'm not sure what even prompted you to call in the first place?

  • IP Profile set very low

    Hi,
I had a problem with my phone line last weekend and when it finally got assigned to an engineer, he diagnosed a cable fault between the exchange and my house, and provisioned the service on a new pair of wires on Wednesday. While the phone is now working OK, the broadband speed is ridiculously slow.
I checked it with speedtester and this shows a DSL connection speed of 7.62Mbps, but my IP profile is set at 0.5Mbps; previously it was up around 5.5Mbps.
I've called BT on this and they tell me nothing can be done and I just have to sit here patiently and wait 3-days after which time it will be OK.
Do I really have to wait 3-days, and if not, can anyone let me know the process to get it increased please?
If I do have to wait 3-days is it automatic after this magical period or do I then need to contact BT again?
For information I've also posted the DSL connection settings from my Homehub as I'd noticed that seems to be asked for in relation to questions regarding speed etc.

Thanks for the answers... Although not really the answers I was hoping for
Why does it take 3-days for the (presumably) DSLAM to measure the line quality? And isn't this something that can be increased gradually over time rather than sitting at a ridiculously low level, then jumping up to whatever speed is appropriate for the line quality? With the IP profile sitting at only 0.5Mbps it makes the service practically unusable for basic browsing, and definitely so for my BT Vision service.

  • Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder

Objective: Creation of a Marketing Profile Set based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset thru the WebUI Segment Builder.
Problems: Standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset DOES NEVER RETURN ANY RESULTS on the segmentation builder of the WebUI client (no matter the filter you specify).
Other cases:  However if we create a new Data source with data "Extraction from Query" (transaction RS02) based on this standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset and we test the functionality using transaction RSA3, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS (using the same filters as in the segmentation builder)! Of course the segmentation builder works with other attribute lists.
NEW: IF WE DON’T ESPECIFY ANY SEGMENTATION BASE IN THE PROFILE GROUP, IT DOES RETURN RESULTS!!! (GO TO THE END OF THE DOCUMENT FOR DETAILS)
    Steps followed:
Review Standard Infoset CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE (Transaction SQ02).Review Data Reading Program code: do we have to change the standard code? We have only remove the "BREAK-POINT" statement.
Creation of a Data source based on the standard CRM_MKTTG_BP_BIRTHDATE Infoset (Transaction CRMD_MKTDS).

It seems that the standard Infoset doesn’t work by itself with Segmentation Basis. Two SAP notes have been applied and a new Field Group has been added to the Infoset (in order to distint the Segmentation Base).

  • Line Profile "low" - What does that mean?

Upgraded to HSI Enhanced 7-15 Mbps from HSI 3 Mbps last week.
Using newly supplied Dlink 2750B that replaced my older ActiontechGT704WG.
Now speed is very very erratic, from 1 Mbps to 2 to 1 to 5 to 3 to 2,  It's all over the place and nowhere near 7-15 Mbps.
Online agent ran test and said line profile was very low.   I have new outside line from pole to nid 3 years old, new nid, and homerun to modem/router.
I live a half mile from CO.
What could cause low line profile?
I can't locate transceiver stats on this modem.
    Thanks!

I don't believe any of us have managed to get Transceiver statistics from the D-Link modems yet but I'm sure it will be figured out eventually. If I had one I'd take a look at it.
If you have your old ActionTec modem sitting around still, hook it back up and let it sync. You should be able to pull the Transceiver Statistics from it. Should be a simple matter of visiting http://192.168.1.1/ , logging in using one of the default passwords below or one you set, and then clicking on the Status Tab at the top of the page, and if need be DSL Status.

I don't know what the Verizon In-Home Agent means by low Line Profile. It could be possible it's mentioning the sync rate of the line is low for the package or the noise margin is low?

  • Line Profile lowering for no reason.

Over the past 3 weeks my line profile has dropped from 77.44 to 70.33 and now is at 65.35.
My line has no noise and there is nothing extra running that could could cause the drop.
I use only one PC that is wired by ethernet cat6 to the router.
Reseting the router does not help.
I think that the fault is in the cabinet,as the DLM is not picking up any faults from my line because I have not had any power problems or noise on the line.
Imo.DLM is being set to lower my profile for no reason that makes any sense.

The vector trial is only good for peeps that live rite next to the cabinet like 100m or so, anywhere beyond that, its not going to happen and the question is how many people actually live that close to the cabs around the uk. I would say most are beyond that, BT should look at achieveing better speeds for the houses that live further away and not concentrating on everyone that lives next to the Fibre cabs for faster throughput, its just a cheap easy methord for Openreach/BT to look like they are doing something!. Think of the poor buggers that suffer with low speeds cause they live so far away, not just the ones that get low fibre speeds and low ADSL speeds but also the ones that have not even got a broadband connection yet and some are probably still on the 56K Dial Up, that is my issue with BT!!!. BT please leave the 70/10MB+ peeps alone, they dont need help, concentrate on the lower figures around the country and do something special for them!.

  • IP profile set to 0.25mbps

I live nine months of the year in the USA. When I left the UK last September my Broadband was working fine. I don't know what the speed was, but it was good enough for me to work.  When I returned  this week my broadband speed was terrible. It was little better than dialup.
I then experienced BT Broadband help for the first time. They identified that the problem was at the exchange. I was told that the problem would be fixed, but would take up to 72 hours. I was stunned. Tell an American  he has to wait 72 hours and see how long you stay in business. During this 72 hour wait I have educated myself on Broadband issues, thanks to this forum.
I have learned  the IP profile sets my speed. When I left the UK, I turned off the power to everything, unplugged phones, etc.
I have a theory that because BT could not communicate with my Hub they dropped my IP profile number. I don't know if this is done automatically. If it is, I expect it to be reset automatically and not wait 72 hours. If manual, my call to BT should have initiated an Engineer to hit a reset button and again not have to wait 72 hours.
I welcome comments on my theory

I am working on CRM 7.0.
My requirement is to create a Batch program for  campaign creation and automation.
i have used the class 'cl_crm_mktpl_appl_base' to copy the existing campaign .
It copied the entire target groups, campaign  elements, profile sets.
My requirement is for the created campaign id, i need to create a profile set in that i need to create target goups.
Fm : BAPI_PROFILESET_CREATE is not helpful for me in my case.bacause it is asking parent guid ..etc...
I have ony one guid ,ie. campaign guid . if i give this in parent guid it is thriwing error.
can any suggest how to create a custom profile set.
If any one  worked on this batch program please reply to this thread.

  • Creation of Profile under profile set

    Hi Everyone,
My issue is around creation Profile in the programming way using the BAPI or Function modules.
I have created Profile set using BAPI BAPI_PROFILESET_CREATE and target group with BAPI BAPI_TARGETGROUP_CREATE,
but unable to find the correct BAPI to create Profile and link it under the profile set.
I have to look into some forums and found few Function modules below which I have worked.
The Function modules that got triggered is CRM_MKTTG_PF_MAINTAIN, when i try this i am not getting any errors but it is not getting saved in database, i used bapi commit. but in actual creation from GUI sceanrio they are using some other function module CRM_MKTTG_PF_G_SAVE_OB.
Please suggest how to save to database after maintaining profile through CRM_MKTTG_PF_MAINTAIN.
Other scenario when i try using the FM CRM_MKTPF_CHECK_AND_CREATE,  when i debug through i get following after coming out of the FM before saving.. We get the error saying Profile set ID does not exist, but actually it exists..
Can anyone let me know the correct data to be passed to the FM to create a Profile...
    Thanks
    Kranthi

    Hello,
    thanks for the quick response..
I have tried using the FM CRM_MKTTG_PF_SAVE but i get the error saying Profile not found in buffer...

I am tempted to say java client issue.  I say this because SAP support had the same issue with our system to resolve another issue and I believe they had to check local java settings.  Also check what version of IE you are running.
Perhaps open a message to SAP to obtain java settings required to run segment builder applet as well as browser settings.

  • How to determine the pixel positions of a line profile

    Hello,
I was wondering if there was any possible way , when using the NIVison line profile, to get information on the actual position of each and every pixel the line profile used for its intensity values. Because i am using line profiles to reconstruct an image and i am getting pretty bad aliasing!

    Hi Big_Al,
The Line Profile function is based around the IMAQ Line Profile VI, which takes a two parameters; a reference to the image we want to analyse and the co-ordinates of interest. It returns Line Information, the Global Rectangle, and our main value of interest, the Line Graph.
    The Line Graph
This is a standard LabVIEW waveform cluster which is made up of three components: x0 (The initial x position of the selected line), dx (The increment value, which will default to '1' as we can't have half a pixel/two pixel voids in images) and finally Pixels Line which is an array of the pixel values we receive.
Now, since we know the start position of the line (x0), we can simply iterate through the Pixels Line array to grab these invidual values per pixel. For example, if the line was five pixels long, Pixels Line would be comprised five elements. The first (0th) position in the array will be the x0 pixel position, then after that we'd have the x0+1 pixel value etc.
Using this information, we can infer the positions of each of these pixels.

I would like to reset my line profile back to its best please. I have put stats for the router below. With a recent change to Fast over Interleaved for gaming reasons (Latency) I would be interested to know whether the information you can see looks promising. Previous to a couple powercuts and family "resets" out of my control our connection has been very stable and well over 4mb in. I live in a rural area some miles from the exchange - with this in mind please could you advise whether an Interleaved connection would really be the better option, or whether Fast is doing the job!
    Many thanks in advance....
