IP Phone Control Service (IPPCS)

Hi...
My wish is to be able to display agent state on users IP Phones (7960) but without them having to log in each time.
Currently the agent state is only visable in the CTIOS display.
Is it possible to send this info to the phone as soon as the agent normally logs in via CTI ?

  • Phone control but CSFs not even Registering

So I have a lab set up where I have two clusters that do not interact at all other than I use the laptops to talk to both clusters.
I have two laptops with two different version of jabber installed.
They are both point to cluster b.  The jabber client once where looking at cluster a.
After changing to cluster b I have phone control of deskphones, im and presence, but no soft phone control,  softphones show up with red xs.
    On CUCM CSF say unregistered.
    Under connection status I get
    Status: Not connected
Reason: Connection error. Ensure the server information in the Phone Services tab on the Options window is correct. Contact your system administrator for assistance.
Address: 10.201.91.40 (CCMCIP) ---this is call manager address
    Protocol: CCMCIP/
Anyone got any ideas on this?
    CUCM 8.6.2 and CUPS 8.6.5

maybe you want to tell us a bot more about your LAB set up.  are you using VMware player in bridged mode?
    can you ping to
10.201.91.40 from the Jabber client laptop?   acn you attch the jabber client log to the discussion.

  • CUPC 8.6 Desk phone control

Currently running CUCM 8.6 along with CUPS 8.6.  Currently we are able to get the softphone to register and make calls, but we can not get deskphone control.  When we look at server health on the CUPC client, we just keep seeing "Connecting" and the correct servers are identified.  We do have the user set in CUPS with the CTI_Gateway application profile, we have the phone associated with the user, in CUCM,  we have the user in the correct end user call manager groups, and we have the line associated with that user. Not sure what else we are missing here.
    Matt

    Matt,
In all my experience with troubleshooting CUPC Desk Phone control issues the "connecting" message in the help show server health typically points to a CTI Manager login failure.  There is an easy way to confirm this:
Enable detailed logging on the client, restart it and try to obtain desk phone control.  Immediately create a problem report.  In this report you can go to CUCSF-XXXXXXX -> Client Services Framework -> Local Settings -> Logs -> CiscoJtapixx.log  (select the most recent one based on timstamps).
You will see the following sequence of messages:
    com.cisco.cti.protocol.ProviderOpenRequest
    com.cisco.cti.protocol.ProviderOpenResponse
    com.cisco.cti.protocol.ProviderOpenCompletedEvent
In the Provider Open Completed event you will more than likely see an error message in the failure description.  This typically is a simple failure or a directory login timeout.
If this is the case the most common cause is due to the LDAP Autheentication settings on Call Manager.  Typically people are using 389 which can not respond in time and cause these timeouts.  I recommend trying to use port 3268 (the global catalog port).  If you need to change this LDAP setting you will need to restart the CTI Manager service on all nodes for it to take effect.
If you have issues diagnosing the problem, don't hesitate to post the problem report.

    Jason

  • Jabber Windows - no phone control with LDAP Custom filter

I am unable to control the desktop phone from the Jabber 9.1 Windows client when the CallManager LDAP Directory uses a Custom Filter.
    Has anyone else experienced this?
If I set the LDAP Custom Filter to <none> and save, then Desktop Phone control works great.
If I set it to use my custom filter, then trying to enable Desktop control just gives me the spinning circle, then times out to the Red X symbol.
I do not need to resync the LDAP Directory to get the error, just enable/disable the custom filter and save.
In both cases calling from the Computer works great.
This is an On-Prem deployment with full MS-AD LDAP integration.
    Versions are:
    Jabber - 9.1.0 build 12296
    CUPC - 8.6.4.11900-1
    CUCM - 8.6.2.22900-9
I upgraded to CUCM 8.6.2 SU2 last night hoping that would fix the problem, but no luck.
The LDAP filter is one I have used in numerous other clusters with no CTI issues.
It allows me to sync to the root directory, but only import active user accounts with an entry in the ipPhone AD attribute:
    (&((objectclass=user)(ipPhone=*))(!(objectclass=Computer))(!(UserAccountControl:1.2.840.113556.1.4.803:=2)))
    Thanks, Randy

    Hi Randy,
Have you specified this base filter in jabber-config.xml file? As per Admin Guide:
"In some cases, base filters do not return query results if you specify a closing bracket in your Cisco Jabber for Windows  configuration file. For example, this issue might occur if you specify  the following base filter: (&(memberOf=CN=UCFilterGroup,OU=DN))
To resolve this issue, remove the closing bracket; for example, (&(memberOf=CN=UCFilterGroup,OU=DN)"
    Thanks,
    Maqsood

  • CUPS CUPC Desk Phone control & features

    Hi,
We are doing the POC  with CUCM , CUPS , OCS RCC integration. I want to clarify some of the features using Desk phone control.
    CUCM - 7.1.2
    CUPS  -8.0.0 , CUPS 7.0
    OCS R2
CUCM CUPS are integrated and features soft phone , desk phone , IM , IPPM , LDAP are working fine.
    1) In desk phone mode , CUPC A is call with CUPC B ( soft phone or Desk Phone) . In that time CUPC C will able to the Phone status of CUPC A
such as Busy , Idle  like the Presence status in the phone ?
    2) In the OCS RCC  i'm able to call from the MOC to the Phone , but for incoming call there is no pop up from the MOC ?
    3) OCS FQDN should be resolved in the CUPS ? ( test.domain.com)
    4) From the MOC is it able to see the User Phone status as mentioned in the 1st Point.
    Thanks

    1) DNS entry is really required in the CUPS towards the OCS server (  ex ocs.lab.com)
[Michael] Technically, it will work without DNS.  Tweaking might required.  Since you already have OCS entry in DNS, you may just point your CUPS to the DNS server.  That'll make thing's easier.
    2) When the incoming call to the RCC phone , OCS  will pop up the Incoming call to the MOC.
    [Michael]Yes.
    3) How important  MOC  RCC plugin we have to install in the MOC? how its work with MOC ?
[Michael] MOC RCC plugin is only required when the Line URI in Active Directory cannot uniquely identify a phone device and a line.  For example:
Scenario 1: shared-line across multiple devices
Line URI is "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring".  If there's only one phone with DN 1234, you don't need the plug-in.  Otherwise, you may
    a) Use the plug-in to choose the phone you want to control.
    or
    b) Change the Line URI to "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF" (then you don't need the plug-in)
Scenario 2: same DN in different partitions
Line URI is "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF".  If there's  only one line on phone SEPAABBCCDDEEFF with DN 1234, you don't need the plug-in.  Otherwise, you  may
    a) Use the plug-in to choose the phone you want to control (even though there's only one device)
    or
    b) Change the Line URI to  "tel:1234;phone-context=dialstring;device=SEPAABBCCDDEEFF;partition=partition1" (then you  don't need the plug-in)

  • Cisco Phone Control and Presence 8.6.1.1185 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 (Integrated Sametime Client 8.0.2) - No presence status visible

    Hi community,
I am trying to integrate Cisco Unified Presence 8.6.1.10000-34 with IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with the integrated Sametime Client version 8.0.2 via the Cisco Plugins 8.6.1.1185.
Phone control is working fine, whereas the presence status is not shown (= no handset symbol next to the Sametime user). When I look in the preferences of the plugin, I can see that the plugin has connected successfully to the CUCM (8.6.2.20000-2),whereas the connection to the CUPS has not been established.
The user id as well as the password are all the same on all systems. Here is a description of what I have configured via the ciscocfg.exe tool:
    Feature Control:
    - Enable Phone Status -> checked
    - Enable Dial Using Cisco IP Communicator -> unchecked (not required)
    - Enable Control Desk Phone -> checked
    - Default Mode -> Control Desk Phone
    Control Desk Phone Settings:
    - Voicemail Pilot Number -> left blank (no voicemail)
    - Cisco Unified Communications Manager
         - Servers -> IP address of CUCM
         - Read Only -> unchecked
         - Use as Default CUCM -> checked
         - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
              - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
Use Secure Connection: -> not required
LDAP Phone Attributes: -> not required
    Phone Status Settings:
    - Cisco Unified Presence Servers -> IP address of CUPS
    - Read Only -> unchecked
    - Synchronize Credentials -> checked
         - Use Sametime Credentials -> checked
    - Sametime User ID Mapping
         - Use Business Card Attribute -> MailAddress
         - Remove Domain -> checked
    - Display Off-Hook Status Only -> unchecked
At the moment I don't see an error in the configuration, but maybe I am wrong. Could anyone please tell me what the error could be?
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

    Hi all,
here are some additions to my above post:
    Servers and clients used:
    1x CUCM 8.6.2.20000-2
    1x CUPS 8.6.1.10000-34
1x IBM Lotus Domino Messaging Express Server 8.5.2
1x Sametime Entry Server 8.5.2 (on top of the Domino server)
2x IBM Lotus Notes 8.5.2 with integrated Sametime 8.0.2
2x Cisco Phone Control and Presence with Lotus Sametime (PCAP) 8.6.1.1185
2x Cisco Unified Personal Communicator 8.5.5.19839
    Setup:
    - CUCM, CUPS and CUPC are working fine, i.e. Desk Phone control via CUPC, as well as availability and presence status are working without issues
    - IBM Lotus Domino server is the LDAP Directory, the Sametime Entry Server is installed on top of the Domino server and uses the Domino Directory
    - User ID and password on CUCM/CUPS match the ShortName field and password in Domino
    - The PCAP plug-in has been manually deployed to both Notes clients with the following configuration:
         - Enable Phone Status -> active
         - Desk Phone Control -> active
         - no credential synchronization for CUCM and CUPS, i.e. every user must fill the user details himself
         - Sametime User ID Mapping is implemented via the LDAP Attribute uid (which is equal to the user id in CUCM)
         - LDAP configuration filled in with details of the Domino server
Phone Control is working fine, also the connection to the LDAP server (Domino) is fine. However, when I type in the credentials for the CUPS server login, I can see (in Troubleshooting pane) that the user (pparker) is connected to the CUPS server for a short period of time and then gets disconnected. After that no connection is possible to the CUPS server, i.e. status is always disconnected.
I have collected the Tomcat (EPASSoap00010.log and security00010.log) logs via RTMT and compared them to the logs from the PCAP plugin. The relevant time period is from 15:14 to 15:17. In the Tomcat logs I can see that the authentication is successful (see attached files), however in the log of PCAP plugin I can see the following messages:
    2012/02/03 15:14:35.281 WARNUNG Credential is rejected. Nothing to retry ::class.method=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup.CUPPresenceWatcher.answerChallenge() ::thread=CT_CALLBACK.1 ::loggername=com.cisco.sametime.phonestatus.cup

I don't understand why the connection is rejected although the Sametime Internal ID and CUPS User ID match. Does anyone know what the issue could be?
All posts are very much appreciated!
    Thanks a lot in advance!
    Kind regards,
    Igor

  • Jabber 10.5 for Windows + App Dial Rules + Phone Control Mode

    I am using all 10.5.
I have Jabber for Windows integrated with Outlook.  I have Application Dial Rules set up to handle converting numbers to what I need by stripping, adding 9s, adding 1s, etc.  It all works great when I'm using Jabber as a soft phone.
My problem is that almost nobody in the company has a PC camera/mic/speakers.  So all of the Jabber clients will be in phone control mode.  Because the call originates from the phone and not from an application, the Application Dial Rules get bypassed.  I understand why this is happening but I'm hoping there is a way around it.  Is there some setting that tells CUCM to notice that there was a CTI call to the phone from an application requesting that it make the call or something like that where CUCM realizes that the request "initially" came from a Jabber client?
OR is there some way for me to put in route patterns similar to the App Dial Rules but specify that those patterns are only available when the number is sent enblock so they don't mess with regular dialing?

Why dont you apply called party transformation rules and modify the called number as per your need.

  • Phone control works in Jabber 9.1.4 doesn't work with 9.2 doesn't

I have a strange problem.  Any Jabber for Window 9.1 works with phone control.  If I download the latest Jabber for Windows 9.2.x then phone control stops working.  This happens to all users and different PCs.  I have checked my configuration over and over and just can't figure out what could be wrong.
    Any suggestions?

    Jose,
I had tried clearing out the cache and deleting the config files several times.
I set down yesterday determined to shotgun the problem.  Finally, it started working when I put the CtiServer1 under the Phone element parameter in the jabber-config.xml.  I thought this configuration is gotten fromt the profile in CUCM IM???  Why did I have to put it in the jabber config, I don't know, but that is what fixed it.  Can someone point me to any documentation that states that you must do this if you upgrade from Jabber for Windows 9.1.x to 9.2.x?

  • SharePoint Provider Hosted App (401) Unauthorized Microsoft.SharePoint.SPException: The Azure Access Control service is unavailable

    Hello,
I'm attempting to get a SharePoint 2013 Provider Hosted Application working in a brand new SharePoint environment.  I've created snapshots of both my dev and the sharepoint environments along the way and have meticulously documented every step of the
way.  I've followed these instructions (among many other resources found along this journey) :
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp179923(office.15).aspx
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/fp161236(office.15).aspx
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/office/fp179901%28v=office.15%29
Upon package and publish of my application to SharePoint, I get a 401 Unauthorized error.  I use Fiddler to obtain the SPErrorCorrelationID to ultimately obtain the following ULS Viewer Output.  Please explain how to fix if you're able.
Please Note:  I was under the impression that a Provider Hosted Application does not use the Azure Access Control service, so I'm confused as to why my system is attempting to make this connection?
Also Note:  I've used a self signed and godday obtained certificate to successfully f5 debug my basic web.title (out of the visual studio 2012 box) sharepoint provider hosted application... so I know my certs are good.

Your help is very much appreciated.
    With Respect,

Yes, actually - I was able to resolve it.
However I don't know how, unfortunately.  I suspect it was because I needed to have the names of the certificates, defined during the certificate registration (to sharepoint) process, different.
I have a complete document that shows step by step instructions on the exact process I took to complete the provider hosted application creation, deployment and publishing.  It was a daunting task, but I finished it successfully.
If there's a way to send private message on this forum, please do so and I'll respond with a way to obtain my document.
NOTE:  I'm not all impressed with the way this forum works.  This is supposed to be a Microsoft resource and I'll be damned if I ever get a response to highly technical questions.  Completely lame.  Boooooo Microsoft.

  • Deactivate "Legal Control" service

    Hello gurus,
we would like to use the Sanctioned Party list Screening ONLY.
Now, we had an export customer order that was blocked because of the Legal Control service. We checked the protocols and found out this was because of incomplete customizing for that service. We had not maintained all the setting because we did not want to use the service anyways.
So, I went to IMG -> SAP Global Trade Services -> SAP Compliance Management -> u201CLegal Controlu201D Service -> Activate Legal Regulations and deactivated the active Legal Regulation for exports (i.e. set u201CLegCtrExp.u201D to u201CCheck: Not Activatedu201D).
The result is that the export orders do not get blocked any more, but there is a warning saying u201CUnable to find any active legal regulations for determination proc. u201CLELDTu201Du201D.
Although this is no real problem, all the yellow warning signs do not look good and I wonder if it is possible to deactivate the u201CLegal Controlu201D service all together.
    Any ideas on this?
    Thanks
    Alicia

    Hi,
Depending on the version of GTS you are using and what part you still want to have activated there are several solutions.
    1. in General Settings / Legal Regulations / Define Legal Regulation, delete the country assignment to the Legal regulation
    or
    2. in the same customizing point you may delete the legal regulation totally, if you need it again you can then make an adjuster with the 000 client
    3. SAP Compliance Management / General Settings / Document Structure / Activate Document Types -> delete the document types for Legal Control.
    Regards.

  • Control, Service and I/O Domains

I was wondering what others have been doing regarding the setup of Control, Service and I/O Domains.
I assume most combine the Control and Service Domain?
The I/O Domain is another story or not? If my system has 2 I/O buses do you have 2 I/O Domains?
Also, what type of partitioning are you using in these Domains? One slice for these Domains?
    Thanks

I have a T5220 with single Control, Service, I/O domain. According to the table near the top of this page [LDoms Community Cookbook|http://wikis.sun.com/pages/viewpage.action?pageId=51678341] a single I/O domain is the best I can get.
I have several LDoms. There are exceptions but most are 4 VCPUs and 4GB memory. All guest LDoms boot from their own 6140 LUN. Some have additional LUNs. Each guest LDom has two virtual network connections, one we call "management" and one we call "public".
I'm still using 1.0.3, so each LUN is a s2 slice in the I/O domain. The boot LUN has multiple slices - /, /var, swap - with space to setup Live Update for patching.
    All filesystems are UFS.
    have a good day,
    Glen

  • CmRcService Delayed Start (Remote Control Service)

Anyone know why Microsoft set the CmRcService service for a delayed start and not automatic? After a reboot of the remote computer, it is taking a few moments to connect. I am assuming that was done for a reason. Before I change the service on all of our
computers; does anyone know why they did that?

It's not just the Remote Control Service. CcmExec.exe (SMS Host Agent) is the same. They are simply not critical and IMO they start up quickly enough.

  • Remote control service

On computer with XP SP2, The remote control service does not start up.
It is set to automatic, but does not start. When I try remote conrtol, I
get remote agent not found. If I click on it and select start, then
everything works. Does anyone have a solution for this?
    Thanks

  • 11g DB Control service won't start on Win XP Pro

    Hi all,
In installing my 11g database, the DB Control service won't start so the database config fails prior to doing the EM stuff. The system event viewer says:
    The OracleDBConsoleorcl11p1 service terminated with service-specific error 2 (0x2).
Querying further, I find the following:
    SERVICE_NAME: OracleDBConsoleorcl11p1
    TYPE : 10 WIN32_OWN_PROCESS
    STATE : 1 STOPPED
    (NOT_STOPPABLE,NOT_PAUSABLE,IGNORES_SHUTDOWN)
    WIN32_EXIT_CODE : 1066 (0x42a)
    SERVICE_EXIT_CODE : 2 (0x2)
    CHECKPOINT : 0x0
    WAIT_HINT : 0x0
Researching the error code 1066 simply says it is a vendor-specific error code. Anyone out there ever come across such a thing?
    Cheers,
    Jim Greetham

    Jim,
Were you able to figure out the problem why you were getting 'service specific error occurred:2'?
    I have the same issue.
    DB version: 11.1.0.6.0
OS: Win XP (latest patches and updates applied)
The database and other pieces are working just fine.
    Thank you,
    Taj
