IP Profile bottomed out

We have a 7km part overhead part underground line to our exchange.  You may say we're lucky to have BB at all but normally sustain an IP profile of 1.5M.  In the storms at New Year the line went very crackly and the profile went down to 0.14M (could it get any lower?) and has remained there ever since.  The line cleared up a few days ago and yesterday I went through the usual script with India who said there was probably a line problem (though the DIY phone line test says no fault and the DSL usually punches through even when one line of the pair is down - it happens now and again).  He organised an "engineer" to call on 30 January.  I think this is a waste of time for Openreach and me as I guess there is very likely a quick fix at the exchange.  But as usual with BT there isn't anyone closer than Bombay to talk to.  Any ideas?

Thanks, yes I understand about the 3 day wait.  DSL dropped 0356 last night, see WAN events log below, and stayed down.  At 0857 I picked up the telephone to check that the landline was still connected - yes, there was a dial tone - and replaced it, at which point DSL immediately came up and HH re-connected.  Some clue here surely?  Perhaps someone who understands BT exchanges could comment?

  • How did my nephew create a profile with out a password?

    Greetings Everyone,
There are two apple computers at my sister's house which I take care of. They have a 8 month old flat screen mac with probably the latest os. They also have an older mac tower with 10.6.8 on it. I am the person that maintains the computers. I set up profiles for my nephews and when I went back to visit, Some how my nephew was able to create a second profile and give himself admin privalages. I have my own profile which has admin privilages but he does not have my password.
After talking to him he tells me was able to do it because of the way the computer was made but that was all he would tell me. Does anyone have any idea how he was able to do that?
    Thanks for any help
    Marco

My other question is, how do i set up the EFI password on the new computer since it does not have a DVD player?
Check out KB Article:  http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1352 and read some of  the suggestion in this thread:  https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4236268?start=0&tstart=0
Since the iMac in question is still under warranty, you can call Apple tech support for help.  Do you have AppleCare?

  • Profile editor out of Beta?

    Hi
    Question for Chan (please)
The Camera Profiles are now out from beta and released with ACR 5.2 and DNG converter 5.2. That's OK!
The Profile Editor is out of beta too?
I noticed the DNG profiles and editor link is not show on labs site main page list. Can be reached via search on site however.
Any update to PE to be released officially?
    Thank You for the info.
    Massimo

Massimo, the DNG Profile Editor is still in beta and is likely to remain so for the foreseeable future.
You may a good point in that it would be useful to have a more obvious link from the labs page.
But for now, there is also a link from the main DNG page (www.adobe.com/dng).

  • Profiled w/out Probes on

    Good afternoon,
MAC 00:0C:29:24:15:72 was entered from CWA through Device Registration by an AD user.  Eventually, this MAC address appeared in the Endpoint database as "VMWare-Device" (which it is) and static assignment FALSE (because it was entered via CWA).
How is it that ISE was able to profile it as a VMware, when there are no probe turned on ISE?  (profiler is not turned on)
    Thank you.
    Cath.

    Cath,
Missed your last response. Because the endpoint was added through device registration it must be present so that if the device is lost it will get assignrd as to the blacklist identity group.
The reason the device appears as a vmware device is that it still goes the profiling policies to see what type of device this. However this device was not profiled by any of the probes. However did the user end up connecting to the network and then accept the aup?  I am curious why it didn't end up being statically assigned as registered device.

  • Windows Deployment Service. Network Profile Radio Buttons greyed out with R2

    Hi All
I have downloaded and setup Server 2008 R2 (not yet activated). I have added the following roles "DHCP Server", "DNS Server", "Active Directory Domain Services" and "Windows Deployment Services". I can PXE boot a test client machine and (using the boot.win from windows 7 dvd) multicast a XP Image to it. This setup is connected via a 100 Mb switch and is an isolated network.
Under windows deployment services - if I right click my server - select properties - network tab "Network Profile is greyed out". I have tried running wdsutil /Set-TransportServer /Server:big /Profile:100Mbps but get the following error message: "Windows Deployment Services Management Utility Version 6.1.7600.16385. Error code 0xC110011F This WDS transport server does not support network profiles.
I have tried this on two hardware setups:
An Intel D915GUX 3GHz 2GB RAM and Marvel Yukon 88E8050 ethernet controller.
    An Intel D965 Core2Duo 1.86GHz 2GB RAM and  Intel 82566DM Network controller.
Incidently I have done the same setup with Server 2008 (not R2) on the D965 and the Network Profile radio buttons are not greyed out. If I upgrade the same test machine to server 2008 R2 the Network Profile radio buttons are greyed out. Is this a design change, does Server 2008 R2 no longer support network profiles as I am now unable to select 10 100 or 1000 Mbs ?
If more information is required or if anything needs further detail please let me know.
    Thanks for any help.

Is there any way at all to manually set or control the network profile? In my environment, a SCCM\WDS multicast stream is bottoming out on speed and network utilization when the stream crosses a Nexus 7009 router. Speeds go from 200 Mbps to 20 mbps. I have
a theory that this "new" automatic configuration is placing the clients in a slow network profile that are on the opposite side of the router and I have been unable to find a way to speed of the transmission. I have also ruled out the "master
client" slowing down the stream buy using different clients only connecting to a stream 1 at a time. I have also ruled out the router as the source of the problem by having a VLC client listen to the multicast stream on the same side of the router as
the slow clients. The VLC client (unknown to SCCM\WDS) was able to receive the transmissions at 20 % utilization / 200 Mbps.

  • Can I get the applications to close when the profile automatically logs out due to parental control time limits?

When time limit runs out on profiles set up for kids, all programs they are running remain open in the background even though their profile logs out.  It causes other profiles to operate slowly.  I have to log back into their profiles and manually close everything.  Is there an option to have those programs force quit when their time runs out?

Hi - it still did not contain a precise response to my problem. But then I wandered around some more in the Tools option and found "always show the tab bar". I unchecked that, and it seems that for now all the tabs are gone. Shall have to see if they return on restarting or rebooting. If so, will post back. Thanks.

To enable profiling it's necessary to call setSqlStmtProfilingEnabled(true)

  • How to remove database profile in report

    Hello,
We have a report right now and upon accessing it, a window asking for a Database Profile comes out. This causes the program to have additional selection parameters for Project Definiton, WBS element etc.
Before we just ran the report for Period, Year, Cost Center Group. Ever since the Database Profile appeared we now have to put * in the WBS element so that the report will run.
Anyone know how to remove the Database Profile selection? One of our users reported that this wasn't in the selection parameters and our developer said there were no changes to the report.
Are there possible reasons why the Database Profile suddenly appeared?
FYI, the report was created using Report Groups (GR51/2/3)
    Thanks.

    Hi,
    What selection criteria you need?
Database profile is needed to access objects from Logical PS DB. You have to put at least one selection object viz. Project Definition or WBS, or Network or Activity.
Create one of your own profile as per requirements and default it in user param.
    Regards,
    Harsh.

  • When I Copy Data and paste to Word Pad it posts the Data in a Top to Bottom format. When I copy the same from IE it post the data as you see it on the Screen - in a Left to Right Top to bottom format. Why does FoxFire reformat the date.

You can go to site http://birminghamapa.com/about_us/division_info.asp?DivNO=671 and Copy any Section and Paste to Word and it post a top to bottom Out Put. You go to IE and Copy info it Paste in format that looks just like the page.

  • I had to create a new profile in Firefox and now, I can't access important data such as bookmarks which I desperately need.

After two days of not being able to open Firefox, I found an article on this website which suggested that I create a new profile. I followed the instructions (which never stated that I should first backup Firefox or my old profile) After creating the new profile, Firefox is once again working fine but, I am unable to access important data such as bookmarks and history.
I have followed several suggestion on this website but, I am still unable to find my old profile content.

As long as you did not uninstall Firefox and remove personal data, your old profile still should be in the same location. Depending on how messed up it was, here are two options:
'''(1) Use the profile manager to start Firefox up in your old profile and create a fresh bookmarks backup.''' If it didn't run, this won't be useful.
To start in a different profile, Exit out of Firefox and start it up from the Start menu, search box, using
    firefox.exe -P
Your old profile may have a name like default.
Then you can create a fresh backup or export of your bookmarks (or both) to a neutral location (e.g., the Documents folder). These articles have the steps for creating these files:
    * [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
    * [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]] (note: does not preserve tags you have assigned to bookmarks, if any)
Exit Firefox, use the profile manager to return to your new profile, then you can either restore the bookmark backup or import the HTML file. The difference is that a restore completely replaces whatever exists now, while an import adds to what you have now.
    * [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]]
    * [[Import Bookmarks from an HTML file]]
    Success?
'''(2) Restore an old bookmark backup.''' Firefox creates these files regularly, but it might not be perfectly complete.
To access the old files, I suggest starting from your current (new) profile folder. You can open that from within Firefox using either:
    * "3-bar" menu button > "?" button > Troubleshooting Information
    * (menu bar) Help > Troubleshooting Information
    * type or paste about:support in the address bar and press Enter
In the first table on the page, click the "Show Folder" button. This should launch a new window showing your ''current'' settings files. Using the address bar of that window, click up to the Profiles folder level and then double-click into your old profile folder, then into its bookmarkbackups folder. Copy the latest backup file to a neutral location (such as your Documents folder).
Back in Firefox, try to restore the older backup. Note: this will completely replace your bookmarks in this profile, so if you have saved new bookmarks you want to save, please perform the optional steps in the following list:
    * Optional (preserve new bookmarks): [[Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file to back up or transfer bookmarks]]
    * [[Restore bookmarks from backup or move them to another computer]] - use Choose File to go to your Documents folder to get the old backup
    * Optional (add new bookmarks to the restored set): [[Import Bookmarks from an HTML file]]
    Success?

  • Need some help with the colour profile please. Urgent! Thanks

Dear all, I need help with the colour profile of my photoshop CS6.
I've taken a photo with my Canon DSLR. When I opened the raw with ACDSee, the colour looks perfectly ok.
So I go ahead and open in photoshop. I did nothing to the photo. It still looks ok
Then I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
And the colour started to get messed up.
And the output is a total diasater
Put the above photo side by side with the raw, the red has became crimson!!
So I tried the other option, Use the embedded profile
The whole picture turns yellowish in Photoshop's interface
And the output is just the same as the third option.
Could someone please guide me how to fix this? Thank you.

I'm prompt the Embedded Profile Mismatch error. I go ahead and choose Discard the embedded profile option
always use the embedded profile when opening tagged images in Photoshop - at that point Photoshop will convert the source colors over to your monitor space correctly
if your colors are wrong at that point either your monitor profile is off, or your source colors are not what you think they are - if other apps are displaying correctly you most likely have either a defective monitor profile or source profile issues

for Photoshop to work properly, i recall you want to have "use my settings for this device" checked in Color Management> Device tab
you may want to download the PDI reference image to check your monitor and print workflows
and complete five easy steps to profile enlightenment in Photoshop
with your settings, monitor profile and source profiles sorted out it should be pretty easy to pinpoint the problem...

  • Generic Profiles for HTML?

I'm surprised at the lack of profiles for some very popular
phones in Device Central... Palm, Blackberry and HTC for example...
these phones might not have Flash built-in but they are the most
popular phones available right now... surely I am missing
something... I'm not designing a Flash mobile phone application...
I just want to see how the HTML looks for given devices... please
let me know if I've got the wrong product for this purpose.
    Thanks!
    Cliff.

You can create you own DC profiles by modifying the main XML
file that feeds DC. The only issue is that DC actually contains
(what seems to be) accurate configuration settings to simulate the
processing speed of a target device. Additionally, DC includeds a
bunch of hard to find settings about each phone that it comes with.
If you do add your own profiles, they probly won't accuratly
represent the processing speed of your target device. And as far as
    HTML—still not an option.
To modify the DC profiles, check out:

  • Roaming Profile are not stored completely

    Hello NG
In our environment we work with NWClient 2 SP1 IR9, ZCM11 SP1a and Roaming
profile is activated by a ZCM policy.
Now we have the problem, that when a user logout from the workstation, the
roaming profile is not stored completely to the home profile. Strange is,
that the ntuser.dat has an updated times
The homedirectory where the roaming profiles should be stored is a NSS
    volume.
On the workstation evenviewer i saw following interesting information.
    Event ID 1509
    Source \\?\C:\Users\MichelB\Favorites\Links
    Target \\?\UNC\SERVER2$NOCSC$\HOMEL\USERS/MichelB\Windows NT 6.1 Workstation
    Profile.V2\Favorites\Links
Error The system can not found the path
    Source \\?\C:\Users\MichelB\Favorites
    Target \\?\UNC\SERVER2$NOCSC$\HOMEL\USERS/MichelB\Windows NT 6.1 Workstation
    Profile.V2\Favorites
Error The system can not found the path
etc. this happens for all folders in the profile path.
Then event ID 1534 is diplayed that says there was too many copy errors.....
And at last the Event ID 1504 that says that the roaming profile couldn't be
    updated completely
I suppose that here the Novell Client has problems to write to the NSS
    volume
Somebody can help me to solve this issue?

We have found up to 40 student user accounts in the LRC machines when doing a net user and the equivalent c:\user\<username>, there are also <username>-<machinename>.001/2/3 directories as well.
I use volatile accounts, [setting] using existing account or not doesn't make any difference.
I can demonstrate that clearing down local profiles (net user <username> /delete and rd c:\users\<username>) allows the user to log in again without any issues, but usually they can do this only once or twice before the profile blows out.
Our students are very mobile and a typical day will be 9.00-10.00 lessons, 10.00-10.30 LRC, 10.30-12.30 lessons (different class room) ........
This was identified in September when the students returned from break and we have had the issues for nearly 4 months.
Our machines are built via zen imaging, the client and agent are then installed with the appropriate enabling software for the machine (zoomtext/jaws/dragon/read&write).
Can anybody give me any pointers on this as my tech support and novell (via a SR) have not yet been able to pin point the problem and provide a fix.

  • Canon pixma pro 9500 having problems with my print out. colors are glazed and missing colors

canon pixma pro 9500 having problems with my print out. colors are glazed and missing colors
i have prfiled the mac and printer wiht colormunki and uplodated the profile sucessfully
i set the printer to correct icc profile
print out comes out same with glazed colors and missing tones/colors
however when i use the same printer on windows and with light room, following same icc profile, colormunki calibrated profile, the print our are excellent.
i have also tried using printer manage profile using the Mac and Aperture and get same poor prints
can  you please assist and thanks

I've a Pro9000 and also use Colormunki successfully.
When I use Colormunki, I calibrate both of my monitors and the printer/paper combination. Colormunki saves the generated profiles to the correct places -- I don't load or change any profiles after that as that would mess-up what the Colormunki had just done for me, and this would likely mess-up the prints.
Though I double-check the settings in the print dialogue, the choice for the printer handling things is already grayed-out. Colorsync handles it all just fine.

  • Error in B1 DB Profiler

    Error in B1 DB Profiler:
Even though I configured my SBO_SP_Transaction Notification stored Procedure, I am getting the Error like below.
"An addon test has been run.Several lines should appear in the B1DbProfiler is not correctly configured. If failed please check you have copied the needed code into the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure."
Below Note: i found this in discription file....
"Important Note: Please pay attention to the declaration of the object_type variable inside the SBO_SP_TransactionNotification stored procedure. In precedent version it was declared as int, starting from B1 2004 and B1TE 2.0 version we require the declaration of this variable as nvarchar(20). Please change it if you have the old declaration version."
According to the Note: in above i also changed the declaration even though i am getting this error
