IP SLA on Nexus 7k

Hi everyone--i'm trying to enable IP SLA on my Nexus 7010, running 6.1(2) NX-OS, but when i put in the command, it throws an error.  Is there a feature that needs to be enabled for it to work?  Or is Cisco's documentation wrong (according to the doc, it was available beginning in 6.1(1)).
SJ

Can you please provide the command that you are receiving the error with.

  • EEM / IP SLA to shutdown lossy high RTT BGP neighbor

    Hi,
I'm relatively new to the IP SLA procedure and very new to EEM. I'm searching for the most efficient way to monitor the availability (packet loss and latency) of a BGP neighbor from a router to actively shutdown the neighbor relationship in order to failover to a back up L2L VPN I have configured on an ASA. It's important that I'm able to continue monitoring the BGP neighbor so that when the neighbor becomes stable again, I can reenable the BGP neighbor relationship. I've put something quick together (below) but am not sure if it will do what I want. I'd appreciate any suggestions and feedback.
    Thank you!

By chosing a target that is along your desired path, you can certainly have a more robust script. I would use loopback to loopback communication as well, this will force the traffic through the router, and also find any potential issues where the peer is alive and sending bgp but not actually passing traffic. You will definitely need some "fudge" factors in there to deal with routers have to process the ICMP packets (Any CoPP will really really skew the results you are getting). I have had experiences where testing to/from a Nexus device gives wildly different results vs testing through the boxes.

  • What are best practices for connecting asa to nexus 5000

just trying to get a feel for the best way to connect redundant asa to redundant nexus 5000
using a vpc vlan is fine, but then running a routing protocol isn't supported, so putting static routes on 5000 works, but it doesn't support ip sla yet so you cant really stop distributing the default if your internet goes down. just looking for what was recommended.

you want to test RAC upgrade on NON RAC database. If you ask me that is a risk but it depends on may things
Application configuration - If your application is configured for RAC, FAN etc. you cannot test it on non RAC systems
Cluster upgrade - If your standalone database is RAC one node you can probably test your cluster upgrade there. If you have non RAC database then you will not be able to test cluster upgrade or CRS
Database upgrade - There are differences when you upgrade RAC vs non RAC database which you will not be able to test
I think the best way for you is to convert your standalone database to RAC one node database and test it. that will take you close to multi node RAC

  • Nexus 5K

    Dears,
I have a situation now where most of my servers are not supporting FCOE so basically each server will have 4 Links , 2 Links will be Ethernet for users reach-ability and 2 links for pure FC storage. Now since im getting Nexus 2k that only supports 1 GiG ethernet connection i'll connect those 2 Ethernet server legs to the N2k and from the N2k there will UPLINK to two different Nexus5K (VPC) now i'll be left with the 2 FC server Links can i connect it direct to the Nexus5K and connect my Storage Pool which is pure FC also ???.
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Inayat..
Thanks agian, actually i need to configure track via tracking ip sla. If ip sla does not in nexus 5k, could you suggest any other option.
Using IPSLA i was trying to monitor icmp for a ip.

The smart zoom feature in Android Acrobat Reader allows you to double tap on a text column and the reader will zoom up to the column in improve readability.  This feature works great on the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 smart phone, but only appears to zoom half way on the Google Nexus 7 2013 tablet.

  • Service desk SLA

    Hi all,
I have implemented basic service desk.
Now i want to implement SLA for the same.
Currently i have config the mailing action depending upon Status change. But now the req is to to trigger the mails depending upon timeline.Which can be done via SLA.
I have gone thru the Service desk additional guide which is available on service.sap but not that much helpful.
Can anyone please explain me how to implement the same.
Points will be rewarded for sure.

    Dear Prakhar,
If you want to work with SLAs a service product and contracts have to be
used. The relevant dates then are not on header level of a service desk
message but on item level. The actions concerning the SLA have to be
    defined on item level.
The processing of the service desk messages is done with the transaction
CRM_DNO_MONITOR. In this transaction monitor fields to the header of a
message as well as to the item of a message are available and can be
    displayed.
CRM transaction type SLFN actually is NOT configured for the use with
contracts, SLAs,... . If you want to use these functionalities CRM
transaction type SLF1 or an own defined transaction type should be used.
Availability and Response Times can be maintained with transaction
    CRMD_SERV_SLA.
Detailed information about the use and the customizing of Service
Contracts and Service Level Agreements can be found
    - in the online documentation to Service Level Agreements
    - in the CRM IMG documentation, e.g.:
      - Customer Relationship Management
        - Transactions
          - Settings for Service Processes
            - SLA Escalation Management      <-
            - in the additional informations to the service desk that are to
find in the SAP Service Marketplace under the quicklink
    'Solutionmanager'
      - Media Library

    Hope this helps explain things.

  • Service Desk with SLA: item data not automatic

    Hello all.
I'm trying to setup service desck with contract determination for monitoring SLA (SolMan 7.0 SP 15)
Everything works well, except for item/product determination. I mean, when i check a  support message creatde in a satellite system, organizational data are ok, but item's data are blank. Well, i put manually my own product in Item, quantity, press Enter and... that's all: contract data are correctly fullfilled, SLA schema ok, no errors at all.
I'm sure that i missed some basic configuration, but i don't know where... Maybe in the Action Profile of the ABA message? Or in the Item category determination?
    Help me!

    Hi Michele
Go to SPPFCADM > Select Application DNO_NOTIF >> Define Action Profile and Actions >> Action Profile - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO >> Action  - SLFN0001_STANDARD_DNO_CRM >> Select the processing type Method Call and choose 'change'icon in Method call settings >>
In the container editor , Choose create >>  Maintain Element, Name & Description - maintain as ITEM_PRODUCT_ID, Choose ABAP Dict. Reference , Maintain values - Structure CRMD_ORDERADM_I, Field ORDERED_PROD, choose tab - intial value, enter the product code (Ex.SUPPORT)
    enter and save.
This setting will ensure you to determine the product id in the Support message automatically, during your message creation process.
    Thanks

    regards.

    Hi,
A UP or Unified ports allow you to configure ports as  Ethernet, native Fibre Channel or Fibre Channel over Ethernet (FCoE)  ports. By default, the ports are Ethernet ports but you can change the  port mode to Fibre Channel on the following unified ports:
Any port on the Cisco Nexus 5548UP switch  or the Cisco Nexus 5596UP switch.
The  ports on the Cisco N55-M16UP expansion module that is installed in a  Cisco Nexus 5548P switch.

  • Error on nexus 7k series " operation failed.the fabric is already locked"

getting following error on nexus 7k series switch: error is " operation failed.the fabric is already locked", while removing ntp commands (no ntp server 10.101.1.1) from switch. Please help.

I had the same error message, only in my situation Outlook would only open successfully every 4 or 5 attempts. When Outlook would open (versus just hanging at the splash screen), I would get two dialog boxes with the warning/error message.
After I clicked okay I could get into Outlook.
Previously I experienced this problem running my Office 2010 client with my Exchange 2007 mailbox on my old laptop.  The problem followed my mailbox through an Exchange 2010 migration (so new Exchange org), client upgrade to Outlook 2013, and a new
laptop (so I knew it wasn't a corrupt profile).  This led me to the conclusion that it was a corrupt item(s) in my mailbox.
To resolve the issue, I archived *everything* in my mailbox to a PST file, ran SCANPST to fix the corruption, and then uploaded everything back into my Exchange mailbox one folder at a time, stopping after each folder to close and restart Outlook so I could
narrow down which folder had the corrupt item if the problem recurred.  I'm happy to say my issue is now resolved.

  • Can i return my nexus 7 it keeps restarting but i bought it 9 months ago

so i bought a nexus 7 about 9 months ago i was excited to own my first tablet so i ignored the restarting in the beginning i figured google should send a patch of some sort but till this day it actually got worse i have a receipt its a really faded but i have it i also have the box.
So main question can i return it?

    Hey mark79,
Welcome to the BestBuy forums! You ask a great question. avm5689 has answered most of it and gave you the information you needed.
Just for further assistance I am going to link you to the troubleshooting/helpful tip area for nexus 7 tablets

You may also join the Nexus Google Forums and ask there for further assistance.

Just curious, is this restarting constantly, or only when you do a certain item ( such as updating )
Are you able to boot your device into safe mode?
Ensure your device's screen is on, then press & hold the Power button.
Touch & hold the Power off option in the dialog box.
Touch OK in the following dialog to start safe mode.
Does the problem persist while in safe mode?
A good piece of advice though is that there are some 3rd party apps that really mess up the nexus operating system so just a FYI.
If this only restarts while the wifi is in 5ghz that is a well known issue as well.

  • SWR10 Not Syncing with Android Lollipop (5.0.1) on Nexus 6

    I got my SWR10 3 days ago.
At first it was synced up to my Nexus 7 (2013) tablet (Also running Android 5.0.1) where it worked fine and tracked every correctly. Sleep was tracked correctly to the next day.
The next day I left the tablet at home as I went to go buy my Nexus 6. Connected the smartband to the Nexus 6 and none of the offline data synced. I put this down to me changing devices and decided to see how it faired today.
Today however, it did not track my sleep overnight. It has not tracked any steps all day. But the smartband is connected to the phone and does work as i've been using it for the media remote mode throughout the day. The phone hasn't been out of range of the smartband either as it's been in my pocket all day.
I have a suscpicion that this might be caused by a compatability issue with LifeLog and Android 5.0.1 as every time I open it up I get an error message saying the app had crashed and gives me the option to report the crash. I've left a screenshot of the bug report below.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I've figured the solution out myself... Well a workaround at least for the time being. It seems the component of the app that's crashing is the logger.
It appears this needs to be running to sync the data from the smartband and whenever you open the app this component crashes and toggles itself off in the settings.
Toggle it back on and press the home key to leave the application without returning to the timeline view and it should stay running in the background.
All the data it hadn't synced reappeared so the smartband must have kept the data.
This seems to be a workaround whilst Sony fix whatever the issue is.

  • Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.2 Update

When will Verizon approve the Android 4.2 update for the Samsung Galaxy Nexus?  The slowness of Verizon to approve updates is inexcusable!  And to that I'll say, "I'm done!"  I am so disgusted with Verizon and their inability to provide updates to what is supposed to be a "Nexus" device.  It's not like they have to manipulate around manufacturer software.  It's pure Google operating system.  Load and test the drivers for CDMA and LTE and then launch the update.  At the MOST that should take no more than 2 weeks!  Since I have had my Nexus on Verizon, I have not recieved a single update prior to 2 months!  Android 4.2 update from Android 4.1 is so miniscule and, might I add, required no additional new drivers, so what is the hold up Verizon?  Where is the Android 4.2 update?  And, yeah, I know some techy out there is going to say, " well why don't you just jailbreak and load it yourself?"  Because I shouldn't HAVE to jailbreak my phone.  It's not a matter of can I do it, it's why can't I do it without jailbreaking from Verizon?  They sold this phone initially by claiming it to be a "pure Nexus" device and it's been nothing of the kind ever since!  So I say, "I'm done!"  That means that when my contract is up, I'm return to AT&T!  They have upgraded the towers in the area that I live and my friends on AT&T say their signals are even better than Verizon's.  AT&T's new LTE towers download at faster speeds than Verizon's too.  I would have happily stayed with Verizon if they would have only taken the Pure Nexus experience seriously!
To those who have stated that I've said this for Jelly Bean 4.1, you are correct!  The only reason I'm still here is because of the hefty penalty Verizon will charge me for terminating my contract early.  My contract doesn't expire until December 2013 so it would be a rather hefty penalty to pay.  But Android 4.2 has confirmed that Verizon refuses to change their position on slow updates, so when my contract is up (as I believe I stated on 4.1), you won't see REDNIBKRAM on Verizon anymore!
It appears as though the Verizon "love freaks" just can't seem to get the message.  I'm not saying that the updates aren't difficult, I'm saying that if Verizon chooses to use CDMA technology over GSM and that requires them to jump through hoops to get updates completed, then they should have NEVER agreed to carry a "pure Nexus" device, or at the very least, should have NEVER advertised the device as such.  My whole point is that Verizon LIED TO ME and told me that my phone was a "pure Nexus" device when I purchased it and switched from a GSM phone company (AT&T) when, in fact, they knew that I would NOT be getting updates directly from Google as the GSM versions of the SGN do.  At the very least, if Verizon really wanted to make this right, they would offer to allow anyone with a SGN phone who was lied to when they purchased it to exit from their existing contract without penalty, so we can purchase a "TRUELY PURE NEXUS" phone direct from Google or provide us with a choice of another phone (Windows Phone, iPhone, etc.) without having to renew a 2 year contract.
All I'm saying is that if Verizon won't or can't update the phones they themselves advertised as a "pure Nexus" phone, then they should make it right to the people they lied to.

I didn't go back to AT&T for JB in August because the of VERY HEFTY penalty I will have to pay for cancelling my contract early and I got the Android 4.1 JB update.  Once I received the update and because the the penalty, I decided to give BIGRED another change at the next update.  I thought, "maybe it was such a huge update that they really needed to make sure everything was done right."  So, now here we are waiting for the 4.2.1 update and I'm still getting the same response from BIGRED as I got for JB 4.0 update.  It's quite clear that VZ DOESN'T CARE about customer satisfaction.  They use the excuse that they want their network to be the best and they want their phones to operate with little or no problems, yet when problems ARE discovered, it takes them months to send out the updates that Google has already released months prior.  I have discussed updates with Verizon, Google and Samsung support personnel.  I have even contacted Verizon Corporate and I fully understand the process by which updates are done, and believe me when I say that the update process at VZ is in serious need of restructuring.  Especially when it comes to Android devices.  But as far as this Android 4.2.1 update is concerned, I have spoken with Google and they have informed me that there was NO changes made to the operating system that would affect the CDMA or LTE drivers on the Verizon Samsung Galaxy Nexus, so there should be no reason why Verizon would not want to release the update.  The small changes (additions) to the operating system would in no way affect the communications on VZ.  So why hasn't VZ released this update yet.  Corporate says they need to test the software to ensure it doesn't affect communications on their network, yet Google hasn't changed anything in the operating system that would, so what are they testing?  VZ may have the better network, but CARRIER EXPERIENCE ISN'T ALL ABOUT THE BEST CONNECTION.  It's about customer SATISFACTION and not receiving updates on a pure NEXUS device in a timely manner is inexcusable and in NO WAY SATISFYING!  So when my contract is up, I will be returning to AT&T or giving T-Mobile a try on a pure Nexus device with no contract!

  • Verizon galaxy nexus-music skips and static when screen is off..

What i do is download videos using youtube
downloader and convert them into mp3. Then i connect my phone to the laptop with
the usb cable. I open my computer-galaxy nexus-music, and i drag the saved mp3
from my laptop to my phone. When i disconnect the phone,I open the music app and
I listen to my music and it sounds fine when the screen is on. When the screen
is Off the music starts to skip a little and i hear static with or without
headphones. Now i used the same procedure when i load music from my laptop with
other mp3 devices and ipods and the music sounds good when the screen is on or
off with those devices. I downloaded a song from the android market and amazon,
stored it and downloaded to my phone for offline play and both songs stutter or
    static when screen is off.

From the beginning, I wasn’t too impressed by the Galaxy Nexus. Why? It’s a Samsung. Would I purchase a Samsung for a basic phone? Sure, but when it comes to “top of the line” smart phones, Samsung wouldn’t be my first, second or even third choice. Now, don’t get me wrong, I contemplating parting with 299.99 to purchase the Nexus. The ics appeal outweigh some of my skepticism.. but before I buy a phone, I sit on review boards, cnet reviews, youtube reviews, etc. etc. In addition, it’s hard to trust a new phone of its kind. All the kinks (clearly) haven’t been ironed out. I, like Rushfan2112 went with the Rezound. And I LOVE it.
But do I think the Nexus is a “poor” phone? Na. Not by a long shot. Does VZW hinder the devices full potential? Of course – but we as Verizon customers should already know this – they proved so with the Iphones. Moreover, I’m a bit confused by the lack of update to the OS as well. This phone was specifically designed and released. It’s not as if we’re waiting for a complete OS change like HTC Rezound, Rhyme, & Motorola Bionic, 4 and Razr customers are. I understand that takes time because the OS has to be modified for each device. But the Nexus started with ICS, the ambiguity in the software updates is ridiculous….

  • Verizon Galaxy Nexus - Defective Charging Port

Bought my Galaxy Nexus in April of 2012, along with insurance on the phone. Love the phone and the pure Android experience. However, back in February, I woke up one morning and noticed that even though my phone was plugged in, the battery was not charging. I tried using different cords and my spare battery, neither fixed the issue, which meant that the charging port on the phone was defective. I brought it to a VZW store, and since the issue occurred within a year of purchasing the phone, they sent me a certified pre-owned galaxy nexus as a replacement (They had to send me three replacement phones total because the first two would not boot properly, but that's a different story.)
So here I am, 5 months later, and I woke up one morning and discover the same issue. Phone is plugged in (using the original charger that come with the original phone by the way), but it is not charging. Won't charge with a different cord, won't charge with a different battery, which means that the port is defective. I take the phone to the Verizon store, and am informed that A) my year-long warranty has run out, so if I want to replace the phone I will have to pay full retail price for it, and B) The default insurance plan on these phones only covers cracked screens or lost devices. The VZW support rep actually suggested that I damage the screen on the phone before sending it to the insurance company, because otherwise they would send it back and refuse to replace it.
So to recap, Verizon sold me a defective device, replaced it with another defective device, and now in order to fulfill the remaining nine months of my contract with them, I will have to purchase another device at full retail value. That's $600-$700 I'm expected to pay just to continue adhering to the terms of my contract. For now, I went on amazon and bought an external battery charger which I now have to carry with me at all times, which is an unacceptable solution for the next nine months. Surely there has to be a better option?

This is the same problem I had in the past and Samsung fixed the phone
under warranty. Since a warranty is only 1 year and not the length of the
contract it doesn't help anymore.  I do not have insurance and the phone
has never been wet.  I have to wiggle the port or reset something on the
connect to have it charge properly.  Verizon was unwilling to help me the
last time I had this issue since I purchased the phone new from Amazon.  I
would appreciate it if you could help.
