IP-sla udp-jitter / one-way delay no output

Hi *,
i have a question regarding "ip sla udp-jitter".
On some connectins i get an output for the "show ip sla stat" for the _one-way delay_
on other links i don't get an output. The Configuration is always the same and the Probes are running.
NTP is configured but in my opinion the fact weather i get output for the _one-way delay_
or not depends on the ntp root despersion.
Is there a max allowed time differances between the two routes ?

    Looking through the documentation for ip sla udp jitter, Cisco says these are the default values -
    "By default, ten packet frames (N), each with a payload size of 10 bytes (S), are generated every 10 ms (T), and the operation is repeated every 60 seconds (F)."

    This is confusing to me. According to this, the operation is sending 10 frames, at 32 bytes each with 20 ms between frames. Is this correct? Or are these default parameters for UDP Jitter? If so, this definitely does not match up with the data presented on cisco.com

    for UDP-jitter ,  Request Data size is :32( By Default) ,however you can change it .
    NMS-6500(config-ip-sla-jitter)#request-data-size ?
      <16-1500>  Number of bytes in payload

  • About ASR9K Ethernet SLA one-way measurement

    Hi all,
    I have a question for Y.1731 one-way delay, one-way-delay variance measurement in ASR9K.
    From the configuration guide document, it says that in order to monitor the one-way metrics, there must be valid DTI input into RSP card on ASR9K router at both ends (details below). I am wondering if there is any other alternative like deriving time from PTPv2? It is less likely to have DTI connection for all the routers.
    To configure one-way delay measurements, be sure that the following clocking prerequisites are met:
    •Frequency synchronization is configured globally in its default line timing mode (The clock-interface timing mode command is not configured.)
    •The clock interface (Sync 0 / Sync 1) on the RSP is configured as a DTI port using the port-parameters dti command.
    •Valid DTI input signals are available for the RSP clock-interface ports.
    •Both Local and remote routers are using DTI timing input signals.

  • IPSLA UDP-Jitter Issues

    Hi guys,
    Our customer has a WAN network (DCoS) and has voice protected across it. I work for an integrator assisting the customer with their CPE routers end-to-end. Essentially CPE routers extend PSTN lines end-to-end over voice-ports and voip call legs between locations. On CPE routers we're seeing voice traffic being marked/matched end-to-end. We're pretty sure that the ISP is somehow shaping/causing delays on the voice traffic interstate but now we're trying to gather some evidence.
    To help isolate, test and provide evidence we were planning on using UDP-Jitter in IP SLA. I've been trying to get this enabled on live routers without success due to the reason "No connection" in the initiators show output. An example of the "show ip sla statistics" on a production device is shown below:

    For the sake of privacy I've adjusted the IPs above as well as the router hostnames. The 10.2.2.2 IP lives on SITE-2's router and 10.1.1.1 lives on SITE-1's router.
    If I do the above in GNS it works perfectly so I think something else is going on here. Either I've got a bug (doubt it) or something is preventing the UDP from connecting/responding for the IP SLA. Frustratingly, if I do a "show ip sla responder" on the SITE-2 router... it says it received the packets normally without error:

  • IP SLA stats - one-way latency / MOS score 4.34 not updating

    I'm trying to use Cisco IP SLA to bench mark voice traffic peformance before and after I apply QoS to the network. 
    *  I've setup IP SLA in both directions over a DSL connection between a 7600, and an 1801
    *  I've setup IP SLA in both directions over an Ethernet WAN link between a 7200 and another 7200

    I have a problem in that I'm not getting any meaningful data from the IP SLA statistics for Voice Score Values:, or any data for Latency one-way time: for any of my tests(x 4).
    After a day of testing it seems the MOS score never changes from 4.34, and the ICPIF never changes from 1
    Is there something wrong with my config?  Is this working properly or could this be a bug?

    Update (RESOVLED)
    The MOS and ICPIF scores do change.  I saturated the WAN link with FTP down/upload traffic inducing packet loss,increased jitter and delay.  The scores degraded accordingling show ip sla statistics 10 details

    Hello
    I would like to track icmp jitter for end host. I verified in documentation that it can be any host as a destination. But i got error on this operation:

    I have a similar issue.
    1. I can run icmp-jitter successfully to non cisco routers
    2. it fails to run to a generic ip device.

  • SLA ICMP-Jitter Operation problems

    I'm trying to guage network performance using the UDP-jitter and ICMP-jitter operations for a specific network segment.  We have a voice encoders that stream the audio over IP using UDP across the network.  The issue we are experiencing is out-of-sequence packets; these packets show up as artefacts on the receiving end audio output.  I understand that UDP is a connectionless protocol that doesn't provide any mechanism for sequencing.  This is where teh SLA monitors come in.
    I'm seeing statistics across the monitors that are inconsistent with each other.  They aren't off just a little from each other; they are off quite a bit.  The UDP-jitter operation (40006) isn't reporting any out-of-sequence packets (I can only see the last two hours, so I just changed the history to 24 hours).  Operations 40001 and 40002 (ICMP-jitter) seem to report no packets as out-of-sequence or all packets as out-of-sequence.  Operation 40002 is reporting around 50% packet loss.  This is a false report.  Operation 40006 is reporting 0% packet loss and the CODECs would be unusable if this were the case.  Operations 50001 and 50002 were just configured so I don't have much history on them.  Operation 50001 seems to be running clean, but 50002 has a lot of unprocessed packets.
    You may have noticed that the operations that traverse the satellite link have a TOS of 172 (DSCP 43).  This is done to ensure the the SLA monitor doesn't step on the CODEC traffic (DSCP EF, which is assigned to the LLQ).  That's not to say that the traffic isn't prioritized; it is guaranteed bandwidth across the link.  Also, there is no congestion on the network.  I have also checked QoS policy-maps and there are no drops for the assoiciated queues.  The circuits are up and stable.  One circuit is a little dirty, but it the error rate is pretty low 0.003%.
    So, my question is two part:
    1.  Why am I recieving out-of-sequence packets?
    2.  Has anyone else had this problem or a similar problem with the ICMP-jitter operation?
    I have included a basic diagram and the statistics I have been able to collect thus far.

  • One way audio over VPN

    I have 2 Cisco 1941 routers with a standard IPSec tunnel between them. Data works fine, but VoIP is encountering a one way audio issue where the remote site calling cannot be heard but they can hear me.  This seems to match what I'm seeing in encaps and decaps. The quesion I'm having is why would the remote site be encapsulating all packets but the office router isn't decaping these audio packets. I isolated one phone specifically so that's why the SA is for only 1 host.

    1) I have taken these buffer captures. The capture associated with "outside" is short when compared with the number of packets from the "inside" capture in the amount that is most likely associated with the call we placed.
    2) Not NAT at all.
    3) No CBAC or ZBF, unless some default that I'm not aware of. Not sure off hand how to disable those.
    I did get this case through to TAC but after 3 hours we are left at comparing the capture buffers.

  • One-way video chat failure

    How do I set up one way video chat between iChatAV and AIM Pro on a PC?
    I'm using the Mac and iChat, and my buddy is using AIM Pro on Microsoft Windows. I'm the one with the camera (which is the built-in one on my MacBook).
    No Camera on the PC but starting on the PC end and then using the Buddy List menu items to start a Video chat to the Mac with a camera. I've never had video success at all, so even starting on the PC end wouldn't work.
    I'm pretty good at understanding how to get around a computer, but the data information is very confusing. So the log reports make no sense to me.

  • Mac to PC video chat connects only one way?

    This may be somewhat off topic for Mac users, but maybe someone in the community can still help me.
    I have a strange problem using iChat AV 3 on a MacBook and AIM 5.9 on a PC for video chat. I can readily establish video chat when the PC contacts the Mac, but vice versa the video chat cannot be established. The PC gets the invitation to video chat, but as soon as it accepts the connection is terminated, and I keep getting a firewall error message. Instant messaging between the computers can be established both ways. I assume that one crucial port on the PC is blocked by the firewall. Scouting this and other forums I found lists of possible ports that need to be opened, and I tried all of them, but nothing works. Tried the DMZ for the PC, which didn't work either. Tried deactivating Windows Firewall, which didn't work. Any other ideas?
    The PC set up is as follows:
    Thinkpad T23 with Windows XP SP2; Windows Firewall on, AIM port allowed; Netgear Router MR814v2; UPnP activated, no port forwarding at this point; AIM 5.9
    MacBook   Mac OS X (10.4.6)

    I monitored the contact attempts using connection
    doctor, and it didn't give me any error messages on
    the mac side. To answer your other question, I did
    activate UPnP in the Windows Firewall as well as in
    the router, but that didn't help either. It turns out
    that activating or deactivating UPnP on the router
    doesn't make a difference. It always only connects
    one way. I did however activate windows firewall
    error logging, and it gave the following log

    Not being an expert in this maybe someone can give me
    a hint based on this. The three final UDP drops in
    the Mac to PC connect attempt make me suspicious, but
    I'm not sure how to address this. I think I tried
    forwarding this port to the PC without success.

    Could you have a look together with Ralph if maybe the Adobe Bridge is malfunctioning. I have found a missing component wich is known and documented. This is the bug report and the way to fix it. I have found it in my own computer, after fixing it the iChat suddenly worked. I suggest you take the missing part (the update file you were asking about Ralph, it is lost in a file named update) and run Fritz' test again. If the code progressively gets better then we have pinned down the "random" factor of the malfunction. The documentation you find here: http://www.adobe.com/support/techdocs/332537.html. It blocks the airport. A lot of peolple run Adobe foto shop, mine came from Elements. So, do expect progress... Have to bring my daughter to school now. See you later.   • Traffic only allowed one-way for VPN connected computers

    Hello,
    I currently have an ASA 5505.  I have set it up as a remote access SSL VPN. My computers can connect to the VPN just fine.  They just can't access the internal LAN (192.168.250.0).  They can't ping the inside interface of the ASA, or any of the machines.  It seems like all traffic is blocked for them.  The strange thing is that when someone is connected to the VPN, I can ping that VPN-connect machine from the ASA and other machines inside the LAN.  It seems the traffic only allows one way.  I have messed with ACL's with no avail.  Any suggestions please?

    Hello,
    I seem to be having the same kind of issue although I cannot ping from either end.
    Ive set up a l2tp/ipsec vpn which I am able to connect to and get ip from my ip pool (radius authentication is working).
    I tried running:

    but i get an error msg saying that the syntax of the nat command is deprecated. Im running ASA version 8.4.
    Ive fiddled around abit to find the correct syntax but have been unsuccessfull so far.
    Any help would be much appreciated

I synched icloud with Outlook and it has trashed my Outlook with duplicate contacts. Is there a solution. Is there selective synchronisation available?

    Make sure you don't have any notes that have no content or subject or this can prevent syncing with Outlook.  If you do, delete them.
    If you don't, try unchecking "Mail,Contacts,Calendars & Tasks with Outlook" on the iCloud control panel for Windows, choose Delete at the prompt (the data will still be in iCloud), restart your PC, then go back and check this setting again.  (Your iCloud data will reappear in Outlook after a brief delay as it redownloads.)
    Then create a new note on one of your iOS devices and see if it appears in the Notes folder in Outlook mail after a few minutes.

    Trying to do a one-way chat with 4.0.7. Camera is on other person's mac. I don't have a camera and my video options are greyed out. I cannot start a video chat nor can I accept their invitation - when they send an invitation it says they canceled it and has no option for me to click. Thanks.

    If File Sending does not work then make sure the other end has port 5190 on UDP open.
    It will tend to be that they can call Out - effectively opening the port - but will not except files other wise.
    Check if you can send to other Buddies.
    If it is more global then check you are allowing port 5190 for Outgoing calls (On UDP)

  • IOS-XR and IOS MSDP Peer --- One way SA exchange

    I am running MSDP peering between IOS 7200 and IOS-XR.
    I noticed there's one way SA exchange only.
    When IOS-XR router sends SAs, I can receive it in 7200.
    But when 7200 sends SA, it does not reflect in IOS-XR.
    Need help the soones guys...

    The router did not seem to like it when I tried to log the ACL:

  • Bonjour video issues (one way only!)

    Interesting... Using a MacBook and a MacBook Pro on the same network using an Airport Extreme (n) base station. No firewalls... same subnet...
    If we video chat via AIM, it works fine... both ways.
    When we chat via Bonjour... both computers can "see" each other in the Bonjour pane. Also, we can text chat both ways--that works fine.
    When the MacBook initiates the video chat, everything connects fine and works great.
    However, when the MacBook Pro initiates the video chat, it pops up correctly on the MacBook... but when he clicks "Accept," it pauses for a moment and then gives a "communication error -8".
    Weird! I feel like all the settings are correct since the video chat works one way (when the MacBook itself initiates) but it doesn't want to work the other way around.
    Any thoughts?

    Mac Firewall is in System Preferences > Sharing > Firewall tab
    If it is On then it is best to set the iChat ports.
    This is done by clicking New
    Selecting Other in the drop down
    Filling in the requisite TCP and UDP ports
    Giving the entry a name in the Description line
    Apply.
