Ip telephony problem

Hello all,
i have the following problem - i register a Ip communicator phone to the CME and try to call an ip phone or another ip communicator, but there is no sound and can't hear the other side... I have put compatibility to the program with windows vista, but no result...
Can you give me some advices - is the problem in the laptop, how can i fix it ?
Thanks!

Hello Svetoslav,
Sorry it took me so long to get back to you, I had issues spinning up an 8 machine.
Anyway, I got it up and working. I used compatibility mode for win7, allowed all access for firewall, and ran it as an admin.
Also, I think your real issue here is the ASA that is sitting in front of it. I'm not a security expert, but I'd put money on that being your issue.
Hope this helps.
Brian
Edit: I used version 8.6.3, if that helps.

  • IP telephony problem in a big shop | Need your help

    Hello everybody,
I have an issue to solve regarding an IP telephony problem. My company will send me to France to fix this problem. But most of my knowledge are in routing and switching, I have almost no knowledge in IP telephony ( Theory only). I think the problem is not really difficult but I still need your advices to know where to start and what to do.
Futher down is a summary of the e-mails I received from the shop in France from the employees who are working there. France Telecom is the ISP.
1 e-mail:The problem is the connection between the ISDN lines provided by France Telecom and the IPBX installed by our shop.
2 e-mail:The problem isn't the physical line itself. The problem is that they ( France telecom) do not route all the numbers out to the ISDN line they installed. The number ending with 1212 get routed to the ISDN NT and that number actually works. But the rest of the number series does not get terminated in that ISDN NT. Calling those other number result in an error message being read in French. That can only come from France Telecom.
3 e-mail:We cannot solve this problem because it is not the system which has an error. Carl has been in Bordeaux and has checked the ISND line at that is working, but the number series for Bordeaux is missing in the system from France Telecom, the only existing number is 1212. The rest of the numbers are missing for French Telecom and is therefore not working. Either we have been informed of a wrong number series +33 5 34 32 12 04 to 13 or France Telecom has not delivered what they should.
4 e-mail:I checked again with France Telecom and they confirmed that everything is delivered and ok from their side.
    They gave us the number series +33 5 34 32 12 04 to 13 with main number (headnumber) is +33 5 34 32 12 12 (exactly as in Paris where we are n° series from +33 1 53 25 13 70 to +33 1 53 25 13 89 with the headnumber is +33 1 53 25 13 70).
That's the reason why you find only the +33 5 34 32 12 12 arriving into the IPBX, it's because you then have to program in our IPBX the other n° we want to use (+33 5 34 32 12 04/ 05/ 06/ 07/ …10/ 13/…) within the number series granted by France Telecom.
But this can be done only by us because we installed our own IPBX.
5 e-mail:Even though the other numbers aren't programmed into the IPBX, we should still get some sort of ISDN Layer 1 activity when calling one of the other numbers (fx. the 07number). That never happens, which means the numbers are somehow impeded from France Telecom.
When we call one of the number, we get an error message in French. If the traffic was hitting the IPBX, then that couldn't happen. That speak originates from France Telecom and we have never gotten any explanation as to why it's even there.
I will really apreciate your help. Where do you think the problem comes from? Is that really France Telecom whose empeded the series number(do not route the numbers)? What should I check/do, configure?
Thanks a lot for your help to all of you.

  • Express 500 - IP Telephony problem

Hi, i have a problem in a site that is in a mine, there are under extreme conditions, the site is 3000 meters over the sea level. There are deployed 9 catalyst express 500 and unti yesterday all was ok, suddenly the calls begin to drop down between calls in the site and over the link (satellite) to the other site. Also, the ip phones can not stay registered to the call manager, they are booting continuosly.
Any suggestion or maybe you need more inforation.
    Thanks in advanced ...
    Jose

What's the IOS version you're using on the CAT 500? Have you configured a flat VLAN for everything or used the Cisco-Voice VLAN for the PC+IP Phone smartports??
I'd also check the 'status' to which you've assigned the Call Manager Server (Should be set to Trusted to give it the necessary QoS).

  • Modulation suddenly changed

    Hello
The modulation on my homehub has suddenly changed from G.992.5 Annex A to G.992.3 Annex A and my speeds have dropped dramatically from Downstream 5,759 Kbps & Upstream 1,008 Kbps to Downstream 1,603 Kbps & Upstream 1,100 Kbps. There is apparently a telephony problem in my area affecting ISDN lines which I assume may be affecting my broadband as well. Can I assume that after this problem is fixed the modulation on my homehub and speeds will automatically revert to what they were, or will I have to do something ?

And the associated speedtester results are as follows:
     1. Best Effort Test:  -provides background information.
     Download  Speed
     1.23 Mbps
    0 Mbps 2 Mbps
    Max Achievable Speed
Download speedachieved during the test was - 1.23 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.8 Mbps-2 Mbps.
IP Profile for your line is - 1.41 Mbps
    2. Upstream Test:  -provides background information.
     Upload Speed
     0.55 Mbps
    0 Mbps 0.83 Mbps
    Max Achievable Speed
Upload speed achieved during the test was - 0.55Mbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 0.83 Mbps
The quiet line test has a lot of hiss but no crackles.
Could all this just be down to the local telephony problem ? If so will everything revert once the BT report that the have fixed the telephony problem in my area or will I have to do something to get things back to how they were ?
    Thanks again

  • Problems calling remote site

I have a problem making a call from Isle of Man that has a 2900 router running CME 8.6 and a remote site Singapore that is on a UCS560, we have created a site to site VPN and can ping from either phone vlan to either phone vlan interfaces. The problem is that when I call from the Isle of Man site the call routes, rings on the remote phone and the user answers, they can hear the Isle of Man but the Isle of man cannot hear them... I hear you all say one way voice must be routing, well I cannot find where the error  and like I say we can ping. I have added the singapore config as a starting point and we are calling from 0977  Isle of Man to 3123 Singapore.

Most of the time this type of symptom is related to a routing issue or ACL.
    I am thinking more codec.
your dial-peer 3150 with incoming called number .T will negotiate the codec betweeen IOM and Singapore (g729br8),
can you paste a show call active voice   so we
this way we can at least ascertain what codec is used from IOM to singapore e2e

  • IPT registration related problem

    Hi
Dear i am facing a problem in my 7940 cisco IPT. It showing configuring IP but not getting ip, TFTP server IP and CCM IP.
I have ccm and dhcp is configur in my switch but after adding the IP Phone it dont get ip but the ccm list its show CiscoCM1 what is the problem? how can i solve the problem?
This problem is only for a perticular IPT. Other ph is working fine.

All the Cisco CallManager versions 4.x and earlier run on the Cisco IP Telephony (IPT) operating system, which is the Cisco version of the Windows 2000 build. Therefore, in order to obtain the 2007 DST changes required for the operating system, apply either of these versions, which are available from Cisco Downloads
Certain Software Downloads/Upgrades from Cisco requires Additional access/Valid Service contract. Availing this contract would gives you access to most of the tools and to the Encrypted Software's.

hi my frinds this is code with out italic font

  • Route pattern to SIP trunk problem

Hello, I have a 2801 router that has been configured with CME and a working SIP connection to my local ISP.
Tested with calls via CME so I know for sure that the SIP config and dial plan is fine on this gateway.
Next I wanted to try out CUCM so I set up a CUCM 8.6 box that is connected to the 2801 router to use as it's SIP gateway.
The only change I made to the gateway router config was to alter the "ip option 150" address so that the phones go to CUCM for their configs etc (which they do with no problems).
Then I set up a SIP trunk in CUCM along with a route pattern which is to use the SIP trunk within the Gateway/Route list option.
But when I make a call that matches this route pattern all I get is the intermittent beep message from the phone. I cannot route calls succesfully through it.
I have checked network connectivity and all is fine. The IP address I specfied in CUCM for the SIP trunk is simply one of the interfaces on the 2801 router and it is definitley reachable.
I also activated "debug ccsip all" on the 2801 gateway router but nothing appears. So it seems like the calls are not even reaching the 2801 gateway ?
Is the problem possibly a conflit between CME on the gateway router and my CUCM ?
Do I need to disable CME somehow on the gateway first ?  Or am I not doing something correct in the CUCM config ?
Thank you kindly for any suggestions.
ps. I have attached a couple of screenshots of my config.

    Hello, thanks for helping.
I activated "debug voice ccapi inout" as well as "debug ccsip all" on the gateway but nothing showed up.
Therefore I deduce the call is not even making it to across the SIP trunk into the gateway router ?
As I am a newbie trying this out for the first time, it is guranteed to be something really simple.
I have included my running config from the gateway router below..
One addition I made was to add an incoming dial peer. That is "dial peer 5,  description CUCM SIP trunk".
I set it up with a destination patter 2... to match my phone config on CUCM which have numbering in the 2000 range.
Sorry, I got RTMT up and running but could not get any meaningful results from it. I need to learn up on that.
I did however run a 'dialed number analysis' from CUCM direct and have attached the result. It seems the dialled number "99" is matching the route pattern OK.
So why is it not then moving down the SIP trunk to my gateway and getting picked up by the incoming dial peer ?
Thanks if you guys can offer any more help.

  • H.323 endpoint to analog phone call problem

I have Tandberg H.323 endpoints registered in gatekeeper, Callmanager 4.2(1) and MGCP voice gateway to classic telephony. There is a problem, when I try to set up a call from H.323 endpoint to the analog phone through voice gateway. The call is set up but disconnets after about 3 seconds alerting signal. However you can have normal connection, when you answer the phone during theese three seconds of alerting. When it disconnects it says: 'Resource unavailable, unsecified'.
    What can cause such problem?
    Thanks in advance.

NO, I was using an Sx-20 as the H323 endpoint. I tried a different video confernece unit. The other confernce unit worked with out any issues. Sorry I wish I new what was wrong with the sx-20. What kind of h323 endpoint are you using?

  • Telephony buttons switch to "not ready" and error in ICI_TRACE

    Experts,
I'm researching a problem in our PROD environment.  A CSR is complaining about their telephony buttons changing from "ready" to "not ready" while in ICweb.
I searched their ICI_TRACE and see this:
    Exception     CX_CRM_ICI_EXCEPTION
    Message class     1
    message number     15
message     Area Code: 1, Error Code: 15
    Program name     CL_ICI_SOAP_DELEGATE==========CP
    Include name     CRM_SOAPINCL_TRANSPORT_IMPL
    row number     942
    Exception     CX_BCB_EXCEPTION
    Exception text
    Message class     0
    message number     7
message     (ICI Error occurred in method CL_BCB_SYSTEM->GET_WORKCENTER)
we are currently on CRM2007 SP6.
We use Geneys GPLUS ICI adapter:
Gplus Adapter for mySAP ICI Multi-Channel</name>
      <version>7.5.100.27
I'm really not sure what the end-user is doing that leads up to this error.  I've done OSS and SDN thread searches for this error.
Any Ideas where to start, other than contacting CTI vender Genesys?  I've already contacted our 3rd party company that provides that service, but I don't want to wait if there is something I can do on my end...
    Thanks,
    NICK

    Hey Heber,
Your post was very helpful.  No, this wasn't happening to everyone...just this one CSR.  And he's sort of a constant complainer.  I've had to explain/train him many times on using ICweb and telephony buttons.
At any rate, I think we found the problem.  He was missing some back-end roles.  Sometimes, when he executed transaction launcher from ICweb, to back-end, his screen inside ICweb would go blank.  I think that was his real problem all along.  Most of the time, he complains about his telephony buttons because he'll open multiple ICweb sessions and enable telephony on the new session and then complain when his buttons mysteriously "gray-out" on old session.  Which happens by design since only one session can have that.
I don't think we're doing freeseating.  I know the genesys gplus config on that end depends on knowing the username, PC hostname, and a position/ACD group.  But I'm not sure how to check/debug those methods since it's not really my area...
I'm really just the basis guy, trying to help since we really no longer have any consultants actively working on the CTI stuff.  We went live with ISU/CCS about 7 months ago...our genesys support company isn't that great, so usually I end up digging through their logs to help figure it out.  Between genesys logs and ICI_Trace...and OSS support and you guys, I can usually figure it out.
    Thanks again,
    NICK

  • Telephony Issues on Nexus 5548

    Dear Viewers,
I have Nexus 5548 devices in one of my client data centers and i have one 3750 switch to which all of these Avaya voice servers connect.
The 3750 switch was initially connected through a L2 Link to a 6509 catalyst switch and the telephony applications were working correctly.
The problem arises when i move this 3750 layer 2 link to a Nexus 5548 (OS version 5.1(3)N1 switch. All telephony calls coming from the outside (External calls) are not working as required but the internal calls work as usual.
What is odd is that when i migrate this L2 link back to the 6509 switch, all works as usual. This is just a layer 2 connection and i am wondering why this is not possible.
The vlan is accepted on all relevant trunks. I also deactivated igmp snooping on this voice vlan on the Nexus 5548 thinking it would help but in vain.
Any ideas and suggestions are welcome.
    regards.
    Alain

    Thank for your reply.
My problem consisted in that IP Communicator not change locale even set "user locale RU", using ephone-profile...
But I find my mistake. I not set type for ephone. After change type to CIPC, all work correctly.

  • Cannot Distribute IP addesses on new Comcast telephony modem

I recently switched to Comcast for phone and internet service. The modem provided does not distribute IP address. It will also not allow the base station to distribute IP addresses. If I set the base station to be an access point and not distribute IP addresses, the comcast network will only assign one IP address to one computer on the network. Comcast technical support of course says I have to call Apple for support. Is there a magic phrase to use on the Comcast tech support to get them to have their network distribute multiple IP's to me or allow the base station to act as a router? Is it a telephony modem problem?

Often you need to blank a modem to allow it to associate with a base station over the original computer connected to it.
    Power down the cable modem.
Wait 30 minutes (go and have a cup of tea or something).
Connect the cable modem to the WAN port of the Airport Extreme Base Station (AEBS).
    Switch on the cable modem.
    Switch on the AEBS.
    Wait five minutes.
    Switch on the Mac.
Use the Airport Setup Assistant in the Utilities folder to configure the AEBS.
