IP/VC 3526 with Gatekeeper Tandberg

Hi,
I have to install a video conferencing system, which is constituted of H.323 Endpoints (Tandberg), a gatekeeper, an IPVC/3526 gw and a CCM 4.1(3). All H.323 devices are registered on the gatekeeper and all SCCP on the Callmanager. I have configured trunks between GK and CCM, and the internal videocalls work.
The remaining problem is for external videocalls which involve the IPVC. In fact, IPVC is registered on the GK and I have configured services to route calls from GK to IPVC. Then IPVC is directely linked to the ISDN (E1). But, I never succeed in making external videocalls (incoming and outgoing). Furthermore, I ensured that my E1 was well provisionned.
Is anybody have an idea regarding this architecture ? Is it right ? Have I forget something to configure ?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Ben

Hi Toby,
Ok I will try to send you the configuration of the GK as soon as possible.
Your problem came from GK ? Do you remember which parameters ?
Thanks a lot !
Regards.

  • Problem with Gatekeeper license in lab

    Hi,
I'm dealing with my CCIE VOICE lab prepearing for exame.
I have 2811 router with ios version 12.4(24)T4.
Since i didn't find the gatekeeper functions enabled i tried to get a demo license from cisco.
1 The license site support now only 29xx and 39xx series for gatekeeper 'cause 28xx in out of sale
2 i tried anyway to get a license and looks like it worked. I got a license file.
3 Installed the license file in the flash, rebooted and checked for activation. The gatekeeper command still miss.
During license installation i got this:
    ACCEPT? [yes/no]: yes
Installing...Feature:gatekeeper...Successful:Not Supported  * ( does this mean that my router doesn't support the gatekeeper function ? or is related to the thing reported in point 1 ? )
    1/1 licenses were successfully installed
    0/1 licenses were existing licenses
0/1 licenses were failed to install
The show license command is blank, but the show license details reports this:
    HQ-ROUTER#sh license detail
Index: 1  Feature: gatekeeper                        Version: 1.0
    License Type: Evaluation
License State: Active, Not in Use, EULA accepted
Evaluation total period: 8  weeks 4  days
Evaluation period left: 8  weeks 4  days
    License Priority: Low
    Store Index: 0
    Store Name: Primary License Storage
So there is a license, active but not in use. Don't know how make it In Use.
    I tried this:
    HQ-ROUTER#sh license status
    License Type Supported
    permanent  Non-expiring node locked license
Does it mean that my router does not support demo\evaluation license?
Could be this because is an
    2800 Software (C2800NM-ADVIPSERVICESK9-M), Version 12.4(24)T4 ?
I really appreciate feedback about this issue and possible solution.
    Thanks, regards
    Michele

Gatekeeper licenses are enforced from IOS 12.4(20)T or later and requires you to install the license post upgrade (the eval license gives you 60 days in which to register). Additionally, a 2800 or 3800 series router requires a 'C' image from Table 1 in the below link:

  • IPVC-3515-MCU24 bad quality with Tandberg endpoint

    Hi,
We have a IPVC-3515-MCU24 with software version 5.6 registered to a Cisco Gatekeeper (12.4(25)) We also have Tandberg MXP endpoints registered to this gatekeeper. The MCU is configured with a HD/SD Continuous Presence with 720p enabled.
The problem is that when we create a conference with any Tandberg endpoint the resolution never reachs 720p even when we have 2048Kbps.
The Tandberg endpoint is already set to use sharpness resolution.
    Thank you in advance!

In the configuration of the Tandberg endpoints, under Endpoint configuration -> Call Quality -> AAC-LD should be disabled. Also, under Endpoint configuration -> Motion quality -> Natural Video threshold should be off.
Also reduce MTU size in MCU to 1400.

  • CISCO TANDBERG - MOBI - TOTEMS SOLUTION

I'm looking for a solution for integrating video totems (for a train station, for instance) in a Cisco Tandberg - VCS - infrastructure.
    - Is there any API for Mobi 4.2 to adapt this client to the totem scenario?
    - Is there any 3rd party application for totems compatible with Cisco Tandberg?
    Thanks!

Can it work without using a gatekeeper - i.e. straight sip-to-sip as per Telepresence?
Currently, we dial into the Tandbeg TP server with a 7985 (using SIP), it connects, then says "Attention: no incoming video data" and disconnects after approx. 10 seconds.
The config we have below works perfectly for Telepresence.  I tried removeing the rtp payload types from the dial peers as well as specifying the video and voice codecs (h264 and g77ulaw) but the result was the same.  I also added huntstop, no vad and the voice classes as specified in the above config to the dial peers, but same result.

  • Video and Telephony Integration: Enterprise UC with common Dial-plan

    Dear Expert,
I have asked the same question under Collaboration but thought to post it under this group too as this is mainly inclined towards Video Integration. I hope this is the right place to post this question.
The enclosed design shows the proposed UC setup which is based upon CUCM (VEr 8.5), ISR Routers(G2 3900/2900Series with PVDM3), Tandberg VCS and VCS expressway..
As always Thank you for all your input..
    Regards
    M
The expected solution out of this design should provide following
1.Video End point(h323) can call any IP Phone by dialling 5 digit extension and vice-versa.
2.Video end point can make outbound Local,National and International call by dialling the same way as it exist for IP Phone meaning for Local and Long Distance within US by dialling 9 then 10 digit number ,For International: 9011- Country Code- E164 number
    3. Video end point will have the extension within 443xx range and can be reached by IP phone by simply dialling 5 digit extension. Route pattern with 443xx will be defined in the CUCM
    4. Video End point can be reached by PSTN world by dialling full E164 number i.e 1712-564-43xx . In this call, CUCM will route the call to Video set-up.
    5. Common Billing to be used for both Video and Phone setup towards charge-back.6. The most important aspect is Encryption which created all confusion and stopped my progress
    Scenario:
Video Conference is going on and the participating users are :
    - User on the Internet which have been joined to the conference by dialing their public IP and call established via Tandberg Expressway
-The 2nd user is an ISDN end point and call is routed through the CUCM to ISDN GW(R2)
    - This is encrypted Video call
Encrypted Video Call is going on and all of a sudden there is a need to bring in an IP Phone Skinny end point(Audio only) and also a Mobile Phone user. It should be easy to bring these two user as part of the encrypted VC without dropping the ongoing VC.
I have gone through few Networkers Slide and also read that the 3900/2900 ISR supports media as well as signalling encryption and it is possible to achieve this set-up.
But because of involvement of integration with different product line (specific to Tandberg), needs clarification before starting with the lab set-up.
The interpretation of H323 RAS part when Tandberg VCS is acting as a Gatekeeper with respect to CUCM --is different than when Cisco Routers are being used as GK.
Tandberg Gatekeeper if integrated with CUCM comes into play for both Media and Signalling and always participate in the H323 call whereas if Cisco Router is acting as a Gatekeeper then once the RAS part is done Cisco GK goes out of the call.
    So,
Please suggest whether anyone tried this setup? If yes then how to achieve this and what should be the link coming out of CUCM to Tandberg VCS-GK.( I think using SIP trunking will do this but not 100% sure about this). Feel free to suggest any design change or any hardware which is required...

    Hi
As long as this is new instalation I recommend you to use SIP on all of the end points where possible and integrate with CUCM using sip trunk this will give you two main benefits
    - the transformation of the called and calling number from and to CUCM will be easier
-if have end point using H323 and communicating with other end using sip the vcs will do internetworking to this call and you will need license for each internetworked call plus the media path will go through the vcs not direct between end points for internetworking
If you use sip make the end point name/sip usri as [email protected]  Calls from vcs to CUCM use search rules with trsformation so if end point dial 123456 only from vcs and the default call is sip vcs will send it to CUCM as 123456@sip domain.com you need to do transformation before sending it to CUCM and send it as 123456@cucmip.
This is just in brief and also using the expersss way you can have your sip domain registered over the Internet and configure dns srv record point sip ton the vcs public ip and Internet calls can come to your end point sip name directly no need to publish ip to others to dial you

  • Gatekeeper is blocking zips of graphics. I've turned Gatekeeper to All, but it's still turning the pictures to mush.

So I go to my favorite source for graphics. They have a download button for downloading all of the pictures in the set. I un-archive the zip file and I see a folder with grey "exec" icons. ***! Photoshop thinks it's a Unix file, not a jpg.
Could it be the web site has screwed something up, or is it Apple's Mountain Lion?

This doesn't sound like it has anything to do with Gatekeeper.  Gatekeeper simply prevents certain kinds of apps from opening.  You should set Gatekeeper back to the default (middle) setting for the best balance of safety and flexibility.
What is the extension at the end of the problem files' names?  Is it .jpg or .jpeg, or is it something else, or is it missing entirely?  (Note that you may need to select the file and choose File -> Get Info in order to see the full filename with the extension, as extensions can be hidden.)

  • Best Practices for VidConf with external parties

We currently use Sony Video conference units for our end units. On the backend, we use a Cisco 3515 for multipoint conferences.
We now need to be able to do video conferences with external parties using our MCU.
Since there are many ways of doing this, are there solutions that work better than others? Basically I need to publish a doc that says 'here is what you will need. This port open on your firewall, a public IP address that is not NATd....'
    Any help would be appreciated.

    David,
Unfortunately, Cisco has not (currently) chosen to implement H.460.x in their H.323 infrastructure solutions, so a Cisco GK could not be used in combination with a Tandberg SBC (session border controller). However, we currently use Cisco gatekeepers for everything but firewall traversal. For traversal, the Tandberg GK functions as the inside portion of the traversal solution and proxies for all my codecs (a mix of six different Tandberg and Polycom product lines)--even those that are H.460-capable. Combined with the SBC (session border controller is a Cisco MCM (25xx router) setting on the public side of the firewall and neighbored to the session border controller.
The "public" GK is for the entities who write custom policies in their firewalls or set their codecs on the public side of their security. If not H.460 compliant, they have to register with a GK, they can't register directly with the SBC, hence, the public GK which is simply neighbored to the SBC.
I would encourage you to closely look at the Polycom V2IU as well. It has come a LONG way since it was introduced a couple of years ago.
Personally, I still don't feel like the V2IU has as much flexibility nor does it implement a dialing methodology best suited for converging networks. It is an ALG (App Layer GW) that has been tweaked to support H.323 traversal, so I don't think it will ever truly match the Tandberg Expressway solution apples-apples, but it is dramatically less expensive and thus worth considering.
We tested both the Tandberg and Polycom traversal solutions with our internal CAC (call admission and control infrastructure), which is made up of multiple Cisco GK products in a fully meshed neighboring scenario prior to purchase of a traversal solution, and the Cisco products interoperated with both traversal solutions.
Cisco did present a solution that proposed a Layer 3 solution, but we felt it best to pursue something based within the H.323 umbrella standard.

  • Adt code sign GateKeeper rejection for OS X AIR app

I'm having a problem getting a signed OS X AIR captive runtime bundle app to pass the GateKeeper signature smell test.
Here are the digestible facts, in list format:
    - App is multi-platform OS X, Windows, iOS, Android, but let's just focus on OS X for now.
    - Application is a standalone captive runtime bundle app.
    - Dev machine running OS X 10.9.5 (with Xcode 6.0.1).
    - Built with AIR 15.0.0.258 Beta.
    - The certificate is a certificate from comodo.com guaranteed to work with AIR and OS X Digital Code Signing, Code Signing Certificates - COMODO
    - Tried compiling/packing with IntelliJ IDEA 14 beta and adt command line, both with same fail results.
    - Manual packaging method used: Adobe AIR * Packaging a captive runtime bundle for desktop computers
The adt command fires without a hitch, the command asks for the p12 password, I can see the certificate authorities get pinged as the packaging progresses. The resulting app seems fine and runs well with GateKeeper disabled. However, GateKeeper does not like the resulting app. I need this app to launch flawlessly on all user's systems (that's why I bought a certificate).
Here's the disappointing results from Terminal:
    spctl -a -t exec -vv myPrettyPony.app
    rejected
    source=no usable signature

I would suggest that those interested take a look at thread Tutorial on publishing Flex/Air app for Mac App Store or just using Developer ID for general distribution
However, since that thread is marked as answered, I want to leave this thread open until I find an answer to my particular question: What are the exact steps to properly package and codesign an OS X AIR app for independent distribution to OS X 10.9.5?

  • Using Tandberg to a Connect Pro Meeting

    Hi,
Is it possible to connect a Tandberg 3000 unit into the
meeting room. I'm not going to connect a video conference meeting
into the connect pro meeting, I just want to be able to use the
Tandberg 3000 unit, with camera and sound in the connect pro
    meeting room.
    Anyone with experience from this?

Jorma is right. This should work - if you you can get the
    video into a computer.
I have not tried this with a Tandberg 3000 - but have been
successful with Tandber 800, 880 and 95s. You will need a video
capture device. I have used ADS devices -
    http://www.usb-ware.com/ads-video-xpress.htm
but you can search for USB to video for other options.
Then, patch the video and audio out from the Tandberg (the
cables that go to your TV or projection unit) to the video capture
device and choose the device inside the Connect room. It works
    great.

  • Distributed Portal - Firewall - Visibroker Gatekeeper

    Environment:
Distributed portal configuration where the mid-tier is outside the firewall and infrastructure is inside the firewall.
    Question :
Can we use Visibroker Gatekeeper (one which comes with Discoverer 4i) so that we do not have to open numerous ports on the firewall. This saves us from opening all the ports listed in portslist.ini (if not modified after installation). The expected result is mid-tier will communicate with Gatekeeper for all the communication to Infrastructure and the firewall will be opened only for gatekeeper port.
Please contribute any other suggestions / methods that might help to move towards this end.
    Regards

    Geoff,
Thanks for the prompt reply and I can understand why my questions sound slightly confusing as the scenario is not easy to explain in this medium.
What we currently have is 2 portal 'environments', one running internally and another running on another network but which is linked to our own. What we are exploring is whether we can consolidate this into a single environment.
We need to maintain at least one portal server in the other network, which is effectively a DMZ as you imply, for non technical reasons primarily. But our understanding is that this will need to talk back to the portal database which is on our internal network behind a firewall hence the query about firewall ports.
This 'remote' portal also currently hosts a Collab server so we were wondering if their was benefit in keeping a collab server 'local' to the remote users to avoid network traffic. From your reply I conclude this might not be sensible, or even possible, so perhaps we need to migrate these Collab objects back into the internal portal's collab environment and let the remote sites users access it from there.
If this is the case then for improved availability we would probably want to consider Clustering Collab so are you aware of any reference docs on this side of things?
    Thanks,
    Ross

  • Gatekeeper showing priority 0 on h323 gateway

    Hello,
I have an H323 gateway configured with primary and alternate gatekeepers.  Priorities were not configured, so both gatekeepers SHOULD show as 127.  However, the first gatekeeper configured shows a priority of 127, the other gatekeeper shows a priority of 0.
I am able to connect to both gatekeepers from the gateway.
I did some research and see that there are some bugs out there on earlier versions which cause the priority to show incorrectly.  but i'm wondering if the bug would only be cosmetic (show the priority as incorrect) or if the priority is actually incorrect.
This is happening on multiple gateway / gatekeeper configurations all with the same gatekeeper priority default configuration and showing the same 0 / 127 priorities in the show gateway
I am wondering if the registration failure alerts is due to the priority showing as 0, and if the fix might be to manually configure the gatekeepers' priority.

  • Gatekeeper problems - I can't bypass it

I am experiencing problems with Gatekeeper. I've read all the sites about how you can bypass it through System Preferences/Security & Privacy, and then clicking on "anywhere".....but it doesn't do anything. There is no difference.
I go to the app I've just downloaded, I hit CTRL and right click, and then "open" and nothing happens.......
I really need to install this app, but at the moment, it's useless. I've tried logging out and back in, and rebooting.....
    Any help appreciated please.
    Thanks

Gatekeeper should display a warning message when you try to open an app that is not allowed. You say that nothing happens, so clearly something is very wrong somewhere. Does the same thing happen if you reboot in safe mode (hold down the shift key during startup)? If not, and if the problem comes back when you boot normally, some other third-party software is causing the problem.
If it doesn't go away, try reinstalling the system. Hold down command-R at startup, then simply go through the install process again. You will have to re-download ML, and this should not disturb any of your apps or documents, but it would be wise to ensure that you have an up-to-date backup just in case something goes wrong.
