I am looking into a IPVideo solution (evaluation) to broadcast an event.
What products do we need to make IP video broadcast to web, hallways.
Can one IPVC 3540 Multipoint Conference Unit (MCU) fulfill multiple locations
Are there any system architure diagrams available online to educated myself on this IP video solution
what other infrastructure do we need to accomplish this.

Hi,
I am also trying similar for lan using JSP.
I have used Applt on client side to receive and present stream to client.
But my problem is that I cant understand how to start streaming from server side when applet init.
when I tried to embed reading RTP stream from file into JSP page.
but it gives error that page can't bedisplayed. it is in format which cant be displayed.
After thet I also tried to emplement it in Bean but it is giving similar error again.
can anybody guid me, How to start streaming after Applet initialized on client side?

Video broadcast with bridge and pvdm3

Hey all,
Any way to do a Video broadcast with a 4520 bridge and a 2911 with pvdm3..
We want the bridge to dial out to all locations. If the 9971 video phones dial in to a 2911 conf using pvdm3's is there a way to get the bridge to dial out to that conf?

I'm hoping that I am missing something because this seems like a strange request. Are you saying that you want a 4520 MCU to outdial to a preset group of endpoints when a completely separate PVDM3-based ad-hoc conference is started? The answer to this would be no.
What may be possible would be to join the H323 ID/E164 ID of the 4520 conference to the PVDM3-based ad-hoc conference by calling it and using the Join button on the Cisco phone. If that worked, the obvious downside would be that you have a cascaded conference across two MCUs. Each MCU would make its own active speaker decisions and feed only that output to the other bridge.

Live Video Broadcasting

We have a quarterly Town Hall event we set-up. We have an audience of about 100 employees at our local corporate office. We would like to broadcast a live video stream of the presenters as well as have the presentation available on the screen. We have another 100+ employees that watch this over the web.
We've been using WebEx Training Center for this, but it's limited in the camera and audio options, and a webcam is just not cutting it anymore.
I want to preface that I'm a PC guy, but we're slowly adopting Apple technology into our company (15 iPhones, 60+ iPads, some MacPro servers for designers, and a couple of MacMinis and MacBooks for testing).
I've done some research and see that Quicktime Broadcaster might be what we're looking for, but I'm hoping the community might be able to help us figure out exactly what we might need.
We'd like the production and end-user experience to be very similar to the Apple Keynote that they do at WWDC every year, but simpler.
HD Video Camera - We only need 1 Camera Angle, however we want the ability to zoom, get HD quality, and have it be a non-web cam, Professional camera.
Audio - We need this for the live stream, recording of the event, and then local amplification for the audience
Lighting - I don't know a ton about this, but we would need some lighting for the presenters to "look better" on the feed.
Teleprompter - We don't need these so people can read from them, but rather we need them to display a timer so the presenters don't go over their alloted presentation time. We frequently go 20-30 mins over our scheduled times.
Presentation - We have a PowerPoint deck that would need to be presented along with the video feed.
Other devices - Occassionally, we'll need to connect an Apple TV to display something from an ipad, etc. and we'll want that to be streamed as well.
That's it in a nutshell. I'm an AV geek, and have had a lot of experience setting up basic video productions in the past. I've used various apps like Finalcut, Sony Vegas, etc. to do post production, but never any software for live broadcast stuff.
I'm thinking it might be better to get a consultant in here to help us set up a system, but if my team of 7 can do it ourselves, we'd rather.
Any help you can offer would be great. I'm open to using Apple technology obviously, which is why I'm posting here. And if anyone knows how Apple does their live WWDC Keynote streaming, that would be a great benchmark to use.

You feed the DataSource associated with your web cam through a Processor, program the Processor's tracks to output the encoding you want, and then you send that out via RTP.
And on the receiving end, nothing changes from the video file.

Live Video Broadcasting over LAN

I have studied the JMF Framework.
And sucessfully transmitted and received video and audio over a network i.e. LAN.
Also I have successful in displaying Webcam onto applet.
Only issue with me is how do I broadcast the Live Video to clients.

Video Broadcast (Not Live!)

we are seriously considering to purchase FMS for a customer
application, but we need to know if it is possible to stream in
broadcast FLV videos that are stored on the server (building a
playlist).
Reading about the FMS features i found a lot of examples of
_live_ video streaming, handled by using a "camera" object etc.
(you surely know better than me what i'm talking about). But i
didn't find any example of broadcast streaming of a flv video file
_not_ live. Has anybody already done this with FMS?

Yes. FMS can publish recorded and live flvs to subscribers.
You can create a playlist of videos and mix and match between
recorded, live, and even mp3 streams.

Video Broadcast

We are working on setting up a learning environment for training. We plan to use one Cisco Wap 4410N to send short 60 sec live video to 20 to 100 students, sometimes more. Is this possible with a Cisco WAP 4410N ? Can this product be configured in a "broadcast mode" where all wireless client devices listen and display the video at the same time? Problem with Time Video Broadcast/Podcasts

I am getting these off of the iTunes Store, and I can play them on my Mac, but when I go to synch with the IPT I get an error message that it can't be played on "this iPod". What gives? Any ideas would be appreciated. I'm really enjoying the podcasting video world now that I have the IPT.

No, the first frame is not black.. The screenshots where just examples and I tried to adjust the settings, because the first time I tried the timewarp it worked, but the next clip I wanted to warp just got black.. and I tried alot of times to figur out if I adjusted some of the settings.. ( I hope you mean the method and adjust time).
Those comes adjusted in pixel motion and Speed and thats what I have them on now.. Should I adjust it to something else?

Well you've found the root of your problem. It's not necessary the JMF. It's when you make a jar file, you need to include the dependencies. I don't think it' legal to include the JMF in a program you sell or distribute, so be careful there.
However, to include dependencies in jar files is not a hard task. The simplest method is to unjar the dependency and place it at the top or your classpath; then make a jar that includes both your program, and the dependency.
A more long term solution is to use a build system such as ant or maven to create the package using available scripts or plugins. The "Uberjar" plugin for maven comes to mind.

Detect screen lock on iOS to stop video broadcasting

I'm developing a video chat app and for technical and privacy reasons, the app must stop sending video when the phone is locked. The camera will stop working there anyway (getting back to the app shows a frozen video).
I'm using UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend, which works well for the home button, but how can I detect the screen lock?
With the camera not working when the phone is locked and the lock not being detectable, this would be a pretty big showstopper in general for video apps, but I haven't found a way to solve this.

Quicktime Broadcaster intermittently stops broadcasting/recording video

I have been using QTB to broadcast and simultaneously record live events lasting about one hour.
I am using QTB installed on a Mac mini. An Elgato Turbo.264 HD device is used for encoding.
Video feed is from my Panasonic AGDVC30 camera. Audio is input from the microphone feed.
Most of the time this works without problem. But intermittently, for no apparent reason I find that the video feed "freezes" and that last frozen video frame is both recorded and broadcast as a still image in place of live video. The audio continues to be broadcast and recorded just fine. So as a final movie product I often have a few seconds of audio and video followed by an hours worth of audio superimposed on a static image.
I need help determining what is likely to be the cause of the loss of live video. Do I have my video broadcast parameters set too high? Am I overwhelming the processors in my Mac mini? I don't even know where to start to troubleshoot this problem.
Any help is greatly appreciated.

I am quite familiar with the QTB technology. I've been successfully streaming live video for nearly a year. I have a specific new problem that I need help with. And as far as I can tell there is nothing in the Apple documentation that specifically addresses this problem. That is why I am here seeking help.

Ffplay doesn't play video after using chromium

Primarily my VLC stops playing movies after a while of using PC (and I think it stops working after first youtube video in chrome... I have chromium with gtalk and google talk plugin, stackoverflow.com and youtube opened... and the only one that seems to me to be related to video is youtube).

VLC opens and runs audio but with no video.
In chromium, video runs just fine.
I think (I'm not sure) that first youtube video stops vlc/ffplay from working properly.
Further more, after setting video output to X11 instead of "Default" in VLC videos start playing again, but still no luck with ffplay.
Output device set to X11 works (although with some errors):

I have few mkv files and the result is the same.
ffplay -vn works, with video I get Major opcode of failed request: 151 (XVideo)
I've added output from VLC to original post with output out of different VLCs --vouts...
