Ipad 1, 3g is totally dead

Ipad 1, 3g is totally dead; could not turn it on at any way... and my Apple care was expired. What should I do now?
Already checked to an authourized re-seller, it is said that due to apple care expired; they could not change another ipad for me....and they don't have fixing services.

No problem...my experience has been power issues are  1) battery 2) charging cable or 3) adapter...can you swap out the adapter and charging cable?  If that doesn't work, you will need to look at replacing the battery...
check out this kb

and there is a link on the bottom to  the battery replacement article

Hope this helps.

  • HT201263 iPhone 4S totally dead

Hi.. Last night before going to sleep my iphone4S was about 5% charge and plugged on the charger but instead for charging, it was discharging very quickly till it shutted down and screen got black and no red bar appearing whenever i click the home lor the power button.. Thought it was nothing cause i was so  sleepy and left it charging till this morning, i found my iphone dead with nothing appearing on the screen even if i press the power or home button, totally dead.. Ive tried to plug it on my pc(where i usually sync my iphone) and also tried to press the home and power button to exit DFU like i used to do but nothing happened.. I also tried plugging my charger to my ipad and it works on my ipad and even trying my ipad charger to my iphone but still the same..
I really need my phone for all of my contacts and some lists that are saved in the notes, so hope u can help me with this problem.. I really love my iphone so badly and i really need it..

I also got this same problem like u. I have an iphone 4s, after updating ios 7 it was good for about 3 days.  Then after 3 days suddenly my phone automatically switched off and i was unable to switch it on. Besides the phone was not taking charge from the socket.  And also was not connecting to itunes. Then i pressed the home and switch button for about 7 seconds and turned it completely off. And now after 2 days this afternoon i tried to switch on the phone.  And it was just a miracle that my phone automatically started to work. And now um enjoying my phone then ever.
I think u should try it like me hope that will fine.

  • After installing iOS7 update  ipad sought passcode disabled restore dead! Now what?

After installing iOS7 update my ipad magically wanted a passcode to open.  I tried several of my usual passwords but none worked and it disabled for increasing lengths of time.  Eventually after reading up a bit about it I strated to restore it to factory settings but was interupted your this process and was unable to complete it fully (to be honest I'm not keen to do this anyway as I don't want to lose all my data - photos, and fail to see why I should simply becasue of a bug in iOS7).  Now my ipad is totally dead and will not respond to anything.  What can I do now?

It is still not working.  I have had Apple support on the phone twice as each time I get through the restore process it comes up with an unexplained error (3194) which they keep telling me is because I have a firewall preventing it from happening.  This is wrong because I have removed the firewall and it still comes up with the error message and will not restore.  I now have to take it to the guys I have had look at my computers from time to time to sort it out (presumabley at my cost).   If and or when it gets to the point to restore, yes I can restore from iCloud an should get all my data ok but I shouldn't really have to go through all this drama as the iPad is only very new and still under all of it's warranties etc Completely unimpressed with this whole thing.

Did you try to charge it using the adapter or your computer?
If you can, let it charge for about 15min, then connect in recovery mode, described in this article:
iOS: Unable to update or restore
If still not luck, your battery might have to be replaced:

  • My ipod 1st gen battery went totally dead because the usb cable was defective. I've changed the cable.  now when i connect my ipod to the netbook, itune is not launching automatically and windows does not recognize it......how can these issues be resolved

My ipod 32gb 1st generation battery went totally dead because the usb cable was defective.  I have since replaced the cable but now itune will not launch automatically as it did before and windows xp does not recognize it.  Nonetheless it is charging.  However can i resolve these issues bearing in mind that i am not tech savvy?

have since replaced the cable but now itune will not launch automatically as it did before and windows xp does not recognize it.
Try disabling a/v software and turn off the Firewall on your PC.
    Disable antivirus software
    Turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off
Then connect the iPod to your computer. Launch iTunes. If your computer still won't recognize the iPod check out this article.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538
Once your iPod is functioning again, with it connected to your computer, launch iTunes. Select the iPod under Devices in the source list on the left.
Select the box next to:   Open iTunes when this iPhone is connected
That way iTunes should open automatically when you connect your iPod to your computer.
And iTunes / Preferences - Devices. You can have your iPod sync automatically whenever it's connected from the Devices pane.

  • 7500 Prism - Totally Dead. Need some help badly...

Heya! I've had my 7500 Prism for a very long time and the only bad thing about it was that it sometimes used to freeze when playing a video. However, this bug got annoying enough to make me made the snap decision to update my firmware version. So far, so good, but there were no newer versions for my Product Code, so I changed it and updated. Unfortunately, I lost my native language menu in the process (should have known better), and I decided to downgrade. At this point, something during the downgrade went wrong and now my phone is totally dead. It won't boot and it won't even charge. Something like "Charger not supported" comes up and I am using the original charger. When it had enough battery, it went as far as showing the Nokia logo and than turned off on itself. I have tried to fix it by restoring the original version, but the computer can't pick it up fast enough before it goes off again and so all the programs I've tried can't detect the phone. Since I am laical in this area, I've figured someone from the forums with much more knowledge than myself could help me out So, I am open to suggestions. Thanks in advance!

Well I'd lie if I say that I didnt see that comming Okay, thanks, I'll check these unofficial forums you mentioned. I had no idea that something could go so wrong (softwarewise) to render my Prism useless...

  • Iphone 4s will not charge unless the battery is totally dead.

I just got my iPhone 4s 2 days ago. The first day it charged over night with no problem.  The 2nd day I put it on the charger at the end of the day and nothing happened.  It didn't even show that it was connected to the charger... nothing.  I tried turning it off and plugging it in, this gave me the apple logo and turned the phone on, but still no indication of charging.  I left the phone on the charger and went to bed (it was at about 30%) and when I woke up it was totally dead. I unplugged it, then plugged it back in and the charging screen came up and the phone turned on and charged. It took 2 hours or less to charge to 100% and it hasn't had any trouble holding that charge today.  What is going on with this???  I will probably call customer service after work today, but I'm just curious if anyone else has had this problem or knows what is going on! Thank you!

Yes I tried multiple sockets, nothing worked. It was still hooked up when I woke up, but dead, I unplugged and replugged and it started charging.  The night before I had tried everything and there was no sign on the phone that I even had it plugged in other than when I turned it off if I plugged it in it would turn on.

  • 23" Cinema totally dead - how to diagnose?

I unplugged this while moving my computer around. Plugged it back in and totally dead. Light on monitor does not light up when plugged in.
I'm hoping the power adapter is simply dead. Is there any easy way to see if the power brick is dead? Can the Apple Store do that for me?
And if it is, in fact, dead, should I buy the same one or one with higher power output?
Finally, if the power brick is dead, am I potentially better off buying a brand spanking new Samsung 23" LCD monitor for $200 vs. $130 for a power adapter on a 5 year old monitor?
    Thanks in advance.
    Frank

    Rainbird,
I went to System Pref > Display and don't see "options".
I did hook up a Dell monitor to the computer and it is fine.
I just connected the Cinema to the 2nd monitor. In Sys Pref > Display, it shows the Dell. If I hit the "Detect Displays" button, nothing happens, but if I then select "Gather Windows," I get a window for Cinema HD.
I have not found a place to check a "power on or off" setting.

  • How can I erase data on iPad when I have a dead screen?

I have a 32g 3g original version iPad.  The screen is dead but I when I hook up to iTunes I can still see my data and sync etc. so the insides are working fine.  I want to permanetly errase all the my personal data and settings.  How can I do that when I can't see the ipad screen.  A simple reset from iTunes will not do that will it?

You can restore it "as new device".  Plug it into iTunes, press and hold the on/off and the home button at the same time until iTunes pops up saying it has detected a device in recovery mode.  The restore it as a new device - that will wipe everything off it and return it to essentially the way it was once activated right out of the box.

  • Razr not charging now totally dead

This afternoon I plugged my phone to its wall charger and about an hour later I when I went to get it, it had not charged at all. Infact it was down to the thinnest red line. By the time I got home it was totally dead. So I got my other wall charger thinking that maybe there was something wrong with the first charger, and again no charge. I also did the power/down vol and no response. It has been working fine, I've never had this problem before and I totally dread the thoughts of having anything to do with the staff at our local Verizon store. Help! Thanks so much.

Hey there slm2110. I am sorry about the charging issues that you are having with your device. It sounds like it needs an energy boost and I am here to revive it. I am concerned that you don't feel comfortable visiting your local Verizon Wireless store. If you have been mistreated in any way, please bring it to my attention so I can submit the proper feedback. I also apologize for the delay in my response and I appreciate your patience.
Were you able to get your phone turned back on?
If the phone was charged, the way to get it back on would be through a soft reset. To do that you would want to press and hold down the power key and volume key on the same time for about 10 seconds. It sounds like you have already tried this and I am sorry if it has not worked.
If you have tried multiple chargers to try to bring it on and it is still off, we would have to look into replacement options. If you are still under warranty we can replace the phone at no cost to you as long as there is no physical or water damage done to the device.
If your outside of warranty, but you have insurance on the device, you can place a claim at www.phoneclaim.com.
If you are outside of the warranty and do not have insurance then we can either activate an older device for you or else you can look into our Certified Pre Owned Program by visiting http://vz.to/rcDvLW.
If you have an upgrade available you can than upgrade to a brand new device. Let us know if you need additional assistance.

  • 10 white iMacs (A1195) all totally dead together. Do they have a built-in suicide date ?

    Hi all
I have 10 white model A1195 iMacs spread throughout 3 different buildings at a school. On returning from 2 weeks break ALL of these machines are TOTALLY DEAD. Power button does nothing at all. Disconnect / reconnect power cord does nothing. Only these machines are affected. All my silver iMacs, and all the old eMacs are working as before. I've had to dig out a bunch of mouldy old eMacs from the dungeons to keep the classroom going! Using same power cords, sockets, k/b's etc. so it's definitely the white machines themselves.
    Any ideas out there . . ??
    Cheers,
    Aunty

If they were without power for a prolonged period of time, it's possible their NVRAM batteries died. Assuming they were all the same age it is entirely possible for them to die within days or even hours of one other.
It uses an inexpensive CR2032 battery and replacement is simple.

  • Totally dead Jukebox Ze

Hi all, at first excuse me for my bad english.
Im going to explain a big big problem with my jukebox zen, i think its totally dead...
I was going to listen my Zen, and my surprise was that it doesnt turn on, its like no battery, i connected it to the ac adaptor and it occurs the same thing. Then, i tried to acces to the rescue mode, but it doesnt work too, the zen its totally dead. Later i discovered that if i connect to the ac adaptor and i put a clip into the reset button, a screen with "CREATIVE, copyright 2002" appears, but if i release the reset button, that screen disappears (only works if its connected to the ac adaptor) and its imposible to access to the rescue mode.
My pc doesnt detect anything, its like the jukebox were a brick connected to the pc via usb. Can anyone help me ? A battery problem ?
Please, im totally **cked, please help.
    Thanks.

<SPAN>No, I just bought another player. I like it a LOT so far.
<SPAN>The sleek seems nice except for some bad interface decisions like not having a fast way to turn shuffle on/off. You cannot even create a play list with that option either. A playlist with the shuffle mode would be great.
<SPAN>I could li've with the menu way to turn it on/off if they would have put the play mode at the bottom of the menu but no, they put volume last on the menu list! We do not need a volume selection on the menu at all since it has its own slider for it!!!!
<SPAN>Now if I want to change play modes I have to scroll all the way down, THEN up one selection to select it. This is hard when you are in a car etc... People that design these things really have no brain sometimes

  • My iphone 3gs is totally dead and not charging if I will connect to power connector too

My iphone 3gs is totally dead and not charging if I will connect to power connector too
It shows only the battery charging sign when I will coonect to power connector and press menu button. But if I will put it for whole day or night too , It is not charging.
Please tell me what I can do.
    I am so frustate.
    Please help me.
    Thanks

Are you currently plugging it into a computer? If so, try plugging it into a USB power adapter. It's possible that you're trying to charge it from a low-power USB port, and that's not enough to sustain your phone and get it charging.
If you're still unable to get it to charge, schedule a visit with your local genius bar at apple.com/retail
