I would like to know why Apple doesn't allow old devices like iPad1, iPhone3G (and older) to upgrade to iOS6.

Just for clarity as you said, it is neither. There are other ios devices besides the ipad 1 that featured 256 MB in RAM and the same or an older processor, and some of them were allowed the ios 6 update. These devices are:
Iphone 3GS whose processor is even older that the apple a4
Ipod touch 3rd gen which has no camera but is otherwise identical to an iphone 3GS as far as RAM and processor.
Ipod touch 4th gen which has 256 MB Ram and the Apple A4 processor (just like the ipad 1)
Out of those three devices, the 3rd generation ipod touch is the only one to not have a camera. And it was also the only one, along with the ipad, that did not update to ios 6 despite having the same features as the iphone 3GS (which did get ios 6).
So obviously it was the camera that made a difference, not the RAM or the processor. Nevertheless, I do believe an ipad 1 would have probably been painfully slow on ios 6.

It's only Safari/iOS7. Chrome iOS7 works fine.

I have installed ios7 on my iPad 4. After installation it asked me pass code which I have never set. After multiple attempts it is disabled. I don't have backup on my iCloud or iTunes. Is there anyone who can help to enable it or to reverse iPad to ios6.

Thanks for that. Much more constructive than the last comment. It's only the restriction code I can't recall, not the access passcode. So I can currently access the device, just not age restricted content. Does that's make a difference? I also wondered if anyone knew how many attempts you get to try to get it right. Now tried 21 times and so far nothing bad has happened but I am concerned I'll eventually be completely locked out of the device. That doesn't seem in the spirit of things though. Surely it's foreseeable that a child could repeatedly try to guess the code so I can't see that it would be right to lock the device down completely in that circumstance, particularly if the access code is being typed in correctly every time.

Itunes is up to date with 10.7 (21).

Try:
- Powering off and then back on your router.
- The Additional Information paragraph of
iTunes for Windows: iTunes cannot contact the iPhone, iPad, or iPod software update server
- Change the DNS to either Google's or Open DNS servers
Public DNS — Google Developers
OpenDNS IP Addresses
- Try on another computer/network
- Wait if it is an Apple problem

Battery % display is inaccurate on my iPad since IOS6.0.1, when will this be fixed?

I find that the battery % display is inaccurate on my iPad since ios6.0.1. Same is happening on my iPod touch. Today my battery was showing as 93%, I stopped the apps, did a power off and on again and the battery went back up to 98%. Maybe this is why people are reporting battery draining quickly. While I was using my ipad with an external power source the percentage battery was also seen to go down. Is this going to be fixed?

Try a rest: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the iPad shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, turn the iPad back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.
Then make sure to try the suggestion I made earlier - the symptoms you are describing are typical of meter calibration - if for no other reason than to eliminate it as a cause.

Trying to update my iPad to ios6. I have the latest version of iTunes. I plug in my iPad and look at summary and shows I need to update. I click update. Message pops up saying I haven't backed up some items off my iPad. Click continue or cancel. I click continue. It starts backing things up. I look a few minutes later and it says sync complete. I again click update. Same message comes up. I click continue. It starts backing things up and freezes a while and then window showing the process of the backing up disappears and I back at the same screen needing to update. Getting incredibly frustrated. It's late, it's probably simple, but I can't seem to get anywhere. Any ideas?

No translation problem. It simplly rejected my ID as being non-Italian.
but then reverted to an english AP store.
I can now see the instructions you provided. Just an FYI in case someone else makes use of this I have TWO ipad3s running on this ID, one is still in the United States and running, I don't know if this influences the result.

Why won't my HDMI output work after update my iPad to iOS6?

After updating my iPad to iOS6 it won't play my videos on my tv via HDMI cable. The tv displays "invalid format" I don't know how to chnage the display settings on the iPad because maybe there are none. Is there some backdoor way to change the settings so maybe I can use my $40+ cables I bought?

Not getting Facetime calls on iPad 2 iOS6.

My family members say they try to reach me (my iPad 2 iOS6) via facetime. They say they call but the ipad does not ring nor do I get an missed call alert. I have experimented using my iPhone 4S (iOS6) calling my ipad and found this to be true, my Ipad does not answer. When the ipad is not plugged in (I have not tried it with the ipad plugged in), I call it from my 4s and it does not ring. I do not have a smart cover but have removed the ippad from the case. I initiate a call from the ipad to the iphone and it works great. I call back the ipad from my iphone and then it works. It seems like the longer the ipad "sleeps" is when it does not respond to a call.
Honestly, sometimes I can call the ipad and it answers. Other times I call, it does not answer. I can't figure this out. I have searched the forums and have done everything that has been suggested, but the issues don't seem to be intermittent like the one I'm having.
Can someone help?

Have you tried restarting or resetting your iPad?
Restart: Press On/Off button until the Slide to Power Off slider appears, select Slide to Power Off and, after the iPad shuts down, then press the On/Off button until the Apple logo appears.
Reset: Press the Home and On/Off buttons at the same time and hold them until the Apple logo appears (about 10 seconds). Ignore the "Slide to power off".

Try going into Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > select the account > account name , tap on SMTP (under the 'Outgoing Mail Server' heading) and then tap on your Primary Server and try entering your email account and password and see if it then works
