Ipad (1) keeps dropping out and returning to the front screen. Any ideas?

Seriously, this may well be the crashing problem that some others have experienced. I have not had the problem myself so my suggestions should be taken with a grain of salt.
First, try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.
If the Reset doesn't work, try a Restore. Note that it's nowhere near as quick as a Reset. Connect via cable to the computer that you use for sync. From iTunes, select the iPad/iPod and then select the Summary tab. Follow directions for Restore and be sure to say "yes" to the backup. You will be warned that all data (apps, music, movies, etc.) will be erased but, as the Restore finishes, you will be asked if you wish the contents of the backup to be copied to the iPad/iPod. Again, say "yes."
Finally, if the Restore doesn't work, let the battery drain completely. Then recharge for at least an hour and Restore again.

If that happens, only the apps that are part of the IOS will appear on your device. Corrective action is simple - choose manual "Sync" from the bottom right of iTunes.
If you're unable to do the Restore, go into Recovery Mode per the instructions here. You WILL lose all of your data (game scores, etc,) but, for the most part, you can redownload apps and music without be charged again. Also, if you have IOS-7, read this.

My iPad Internet keeps dropping out

My iPad Internet keeps dropping out, I have other internet using machines and they are fine, I have changed my hub 4 times but it still keeps dropping.
It mainly drops if I am watching Netflix, but also just using the net but not as much, I have also changed the hub channel but it still does it.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.
Some Wi-Fi losses may stem from a problematic interaction between Wi-Fi and cellular data connections. Numerous users have found that turning off Cellular Data in Settings gets their Wi-Fi working again.
You may have many apps open which can possibly cause the slowdown and possibly the loss of wifi. In iOS 4-6 double tap your Home button & at the bottom of the screen you will see the icons of all open apps. Close those you are not using by pressing on an icon until all icons wiggle - then tap the minus sign. For iOS 7 users, there’s an easy way to see which apps are open in order to close them. By double-tapping the home button on your iPhone or iPad, the new multitasking feature in iOS 7 shows full page previews of all your open apps. Simply scroll horizontally to see all your apps, and close the apps with a simple flick towards the top of the screen.

Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and turn Wi-Fi off and on. If your W-Fi setting is dimmed, follow these steps.
Restart your iOS device.
Tap Settings > Wi-Fi and locate the Wi-Fi network to which you're connected.
Tap and Forget this Network.
Try to connect to your desired Wi-Fi network.
Note: You may need to enter your Wi-Fi password again if your network requires one.

Why does my ipad 2 keep dropping the connection to my BT Home Hub, whilst streaming video, since upgrading to IOS 6?

Ever since i have upgraded to IOS6 My connection to my BT Hub 3 wifi router keeps dropping out whenever i am streaming video. I have an Apple TV connected as well which is fine as are other devices, its just the Ipad since the move to IOS6. It is really frustrating and i had hoped the 6.01 release would have resolved it, but it didnt. I have seen other similar comments, i just want to know if this is a common known fault which Apple are going to fix.
The strength of Apple has always been 'it just works' , i can't help but feel that there are cracks appearing in this.

Ipad 2 keeps dropping my wifi connection

I just got an iPad 2. It keeps dropping my wifi connection. I updated the software to the most recent available: 6.0.1. I've tried to reset my network connections. I rebooted my router. I've restarted my iPad. I am still having the same issue. I can connect to the wireless router with my Samsung Galaxy s3, my wife can also connect without any issues with her Samsung Galaxy S3. My son was able to connect with his Kindle Fire. But, the iPad 2 is the only one having a problem. Any suggestions?

IPad 3 keeps dropping wifi signal

Despite having a very strong wifi signal around the house, which my iPad 2 has a strong connection to, my new iPad keeps dropping the wifi signal every minute or two, making using the Internet nearly impossible. To regain connection I just have to go on the wifi settings page (not even turning the wifi on and off) which then gives me the signal again. Ive tried resetting network settings, but nothing works. Please help; this is a real problem and means I can't use my iPad properly.

I get intermittent wifi network connection. Connection keeps dropping. When I try to log onto itunes store, connection immediately drops every time. Rest of my computers have no problem, just the ipad 3

IPad 1 keeps dropping web pages especially newspapers. How do I fix it?

Help! My iPad 1 is a year and a half old. Recently it has started to frequently drop web pages or apps, especially news sites. I went to apple store and they did a reboot of my system that brought it back to factory settings. It has been a little better since then but still drops much more than it did when it was new. Very annoying. It seems like it can't load the page quickly enough so it drops everything. Do I have some kind of virus? I hesitate to reboot it all over again because all I did was lose and mess up the apps that I had on the iPad before. (that is another problem as some apps are gone but I can't download them again as the apps store thinks they are already installed on the machine). please help

1. Double-click the Home button to see all Inactive Apps
2. Hold the Apps down for a second or two until you see the minus sign
3. Tap the minus sign to close App
4. Reset iPad. Hold the Sleep and Home button down for about 10 second until you see the Apple logo. Ignore the red slider

IPad 2 keeps dropping wifi since 8.1.2 just did factory reset to new still dropping

MY ipad 2 drops the wifi signal 10 feet from the router starting immediately after 8.1.2 update. My iPhone 6 that I have not updated will get 2 bars wifi signal in the same spot my iPad used to get 2 bars and now has none since I updated to 8.1.2. I spoke to Apple and first we did everything on the list to help with this such as forget network, reset iPad and now I just did a factory reset and restored my iPad as new and it is exactly the same. Other devices not updated work fine. What's next? I hope there is a software update coming to fix this, we can't use the iPad effectively in the space it comes in because that room is very cold and not a social space...

It is not the router because we've had about 7 different devices work fine from much further away. My iPhone and mothers iPad, kindle, Apple TV, iPod and home computer work fine. My mothers iPad nor the other devices mentioned are not up to date with the 8.1.2 and all get two bars where mine used to also get two bars until I did the 8.1.2 update. It has to be related to the software as it worked great until the software download was complete and from that second on it drops the wifi when I walk further then ten feet from the router. It was instantly different after the update, I wish I could get the old IOS back somehow. I then have to walk back close to the router, go to settings select our wifi then sit in this room to use it...

IPad Mini Keeps Dropping Wifi

I bought an iPad Mini around a month ago. I knew before hand that it had issues with Netgear Routers. I have a Netgear N600 Dual Band Router Model WNDR3400. At first the drops were ok but that quickly changed. I now cannot iMessage(the send bar fills up 90%, sits there, and after another minute fails. I cannot Facetime(it just rings) and now my mail app tells me my Gmail credentials are wrong and will not allow me to manually push new messages, I have to wait for the iPad to do it.
I can barely do anything internet related because the wifi goes in and out every second so absolutely NOTHING works. I also expected the latest IOS release to do something about this...I guess I was wrong.
Look I'm not going to sit here and bash the **** out of the iPad and Apple. I love it, its one of the greatest investments I've made, I just want the damned thing to work as it should. I shouldn't have to consider buying another router all because 1 device does not work with it. I've been researching this for the past day and a half but I figured I would post something here as well. I'm sure someone has to have come up with a solution.
Also No I will not reboot the router, turn off then off the wifi on my iPad or anything else of that nature because I've tried it and it hasn't made it better. Just thought I would put it out there.

5. Renew IP Address: (especially if you are droping internet connection)

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

IPad 2 keeps dropping wifi signal

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help with a very frustrating problem.
I have an iPad 2, running iOS 6.1.2 (10B146). My home wifi network is provided by BT Infinity (I'm in the UK), via a BT Home Hub 3. Very frustratingly, my iPad is dropping my internet connection, frequently but seemingly randomly.
The wifi is stable for all other devices (iPhone and laptop), I never experience drop outs with either of those devices.
I've tried re-booting my router, but this hasn't helped. On my iPad I've tried Resetting Network Settings, but the problem persists.
When I lose my internet connection, I don't actually lose my wifi signal, the wifi icon remains in the top left corner, and the correct wifi network is still 'ticked' under my wifi settings. The only way to restore my internet connect is to turn my wifi off and on again, this solves the problem until the next disconnection.
It's driving me mad at the moment. My ipad appears to be fine when connecting to other wifi networks, which led me to think it's a problem with my router. But the fact my other devices are not dropping connection leads me to think it's a problem with the iPad.
In my wifi settings on the iPad I'm using DHCP, no HTTP proxy.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated!

How will changing ISP fix a wireless problem? There will still be the same number of interfering channels.
If you think the problem is related to the home hub, then simply add a separate cheap wireless access point, that is what other people do.
You can also use a different router if you wish.

IPad 3G keeps dropping connection to Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G Wifi Hotspot

When I connect to my Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G over WiFi - iPad drops the connection and says subscribe to AF&T Cellular Plan.
Even though my i have 3G in my iPAD, I have kept that only when I travel to a different city. It is frustrating to see iPad connects to Sprint Overdrive 3G/4G - but after 2 minutes drops the connection. My other 2 laptops have no problems - it is only iPad 16G 3G that I have - cannot connect to it.
Pls let me know - how this can be resolved...

I tried the Sprint Overdrive service. Failed. Despite trying all of the fixes mentioned here and other places, I had no luck at with the device, and I live near the heart of Dallas--which the Sprint map shows to be saturated in 4G. I drove around a few hours with it, nada. I barely broke 1 Meg during the 5 hours I owned the device.
5 hours later I returned it to the Sprint store, as they offered a no questions asked 30 day trial. Which they should, since this store had no Internet or wifi or 3G connectivity, handy that, considering how badly the device performed. I was then told that I could not have the $162.00 I pad for the device credited to my credit card, which is where they got it from earlier in the day...how handy, they get to use my money for 10-14 days. I was also told that since I had cancelled the same day, that there would be no monthly bill...well this past Friday I got a bill for $44.00. I took it to the store today to see what was up, they called a Sprint rep, and he told me not to worry about it. Yeah, sure, like I am going to listen to them. The next thing I know I would likely have a late payment on my credit. I figured the only safe way out was to insist that they accept my $44.00, and I will let them credit me for it, if I am so lucky. What I expect is yet another bill that I should be getting. Sheesh.

My ipad 3 keeps dropping the wifi connection when my android tablet, android phone, and laptop have never had any issues.

I just got a verizon ipad and am having wifi connection problems. It will connect to my wifi but every 5 or 10 minutes it will drop the connection. The only way to get it back is to go and manually connect to it again in the wifi settings.
Is anyone else having this problem? My android tablet and phone and laptop do not have this problem.

It appears hundreds are having this problem. You must not have done a search for this subject before posting. Try a search for "wifi connection problem on iPad 3" and you'll get lots of information regarding this problem and a few suggestions you can try.
