  • Ipad is stuck saying restoring in albums.

ipad is stuck saying restoring in albums. pictures are showing up in photos but not in albums tab. I unchecked icloud both on the ipad and through computer. I even deleted icloud account off of ipad and still restoring will not go away. I tryed resynching to itunes with backup to computer checked. I tryed restarting ipad and restarting wifi. I just want to delete all photos and stop it from restoring.

Try rebooting:  Press and hold BOTH the power and home buttons at the SAME time for about 10 seconds (ignore the red slider to shut down) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons.  Your iPad should restart and you won't lose any data or settings.

  • IPad 1 stuck in restore mode

    Hi,
After numerous attempts and remedies across the net my ipad is still stuck in restore mode, each time returning the follwing error code: The iPad 'iPad' could not be restored. An unknown error occured (1). This is not the usual timing out error, or so I think, and must be something else. Is anyone able to help. Putting in DFU mode, trying to re-set just isn't working sop at the moment it's stuck not doing anything and all data has been lost on the face of it if I can't get to a backup. I've tried downloading the update and manually retoring but still nothing.
I've tried 3 different PC's, removing anit-virus, spyware and firewalls etc to no avail, so any other support welcome or it's out of the window!!!

My wife had a problem that sounds exactly like what you're describing.  She has OS 10.6.8 and iTunes 10.5 and tried to put the new system on her 3G iPad 1.  The backup went fine, but she got an unknown error 1 during the install of the new system.  We weren't using this iPad for development and it was never jailbroken.
We tried putting the iPad into recovery mode, switching cables, restarting the computer, salt over the left shoulder and everything else we could think of and discover via google.  My wife finally took the iPad to the "genius" at the Corte Madera Apple Store and he claimed it was a hardware failure and offered to sell her a refurbished iPad for $499. He wouldn't admit that there was any chance the problem was a result of the upgrade process.
Since we didn't believe that this "hardware failure" was a coincidence that just happened to occur during the system update, we persisted with our own attempts to solve the problem and ended up with a solution.
With the iPad in recovery mode, we turned AirPort off (and disconnected ethernet) on the Mac and restarted the update process in iTunes.  When iTunes said it couldn't connect to the Apple server, we turned AirPort back on for just long enough to get the update process to resume, then we turned AirPort off again.  After a while, iTunes tried to reach the server again and failed, so we turned AirPort back on for just a few seconds and then turned it off again.  After that, the update continued just fine and the iPad is no longer a brick.  We're pretty sure this wasn't just because the Apple servers were less busy.  We had the same error moments before doing the no-WiFi trick.

  • IPad Air Stuck in Restore Loop

Tried to install ios 8.0.1 this afternoon. Got error message that said this devise could not install this build. Now ipad is stuck in a restore loop. Will not reinstall ios 8.0. I have tried all of the online suggestions, i.e. disable virus software, restart computer and ipad, and  turned off all other USB devices. Nothing works....need help.

    Hey cdlordo,
Thanks for the question. I understand that you are experiencing issues with your iPad after attempting to install iOS 8. To troubleshoot, let’s go ahead and place your device into recovery mode and restore it with iTunes:

  • I got a new PC; when trying to sync my iPad I downloaded iTunes onto the PC; got a message that my iPad did not have the newest version of iTunes, would I like to update my iPad; I clicked yes then; since then my iPad is stuck in restore and may lose all

Tried to sync iPad to new PC; got message that iPad did not have most current iTunes and would I like to update; selected update; got an error message saying a file was corrupt; iPad stuck in restore mode; no pictures transferred to PC; Apple Store Tech said only solution is to restore factory settings to my iPad but this will cause me to lose hundreds of precious and irreplaceable photos and videos; HELP?

You should be able to accept this message, it will cause existing music, photos (not camera roll) and videos (also excluding those in camera roll) to be removed and replaced with those from this computer. All other user data on the iPad will be unaffected.

  • My iphone 4 is stuck in restore after trying to update iOS 5. It will only send troubleshoot 3014

I have been trying to update my iphone and its stuck on restore. The only thing it will do is send me a messege via iTunes that marks troubloshoot 3014.
    Help Please!!

Get your money back from the seller, and if you are not immediately successful file a complaint with eBay.
Not all jailbroken iPhones can be fixed. That's probably why it was on eBay.

  • IPad 2 stuck on RESTORE (not recovery) mode after iOS7 update

My update to iOS7 seemed to go OK, now I got to "Restore from backup/iTunes" and here's where things turned sour.  I actually SAW glimpses of iOS7 on the iPad and went through the Hello screen and WiFi setup etc.
It's now stuck on the black screen with white Apple in the middle and little white line progress bar under it - but that progress bar has only made it about 1/8 of the way to the end and seems completely froozen.  It's not a 500TB iPad - this should only take a few minutes at most.  something is wrong.
The only USB items I have connected are my keyboard and iPad 2 - nothing else.  And they are direct into the Mac.
So yea, updating to iOS7 bricked my iPad.

It took multiple attempts but this finally just resolved itself.  go figure.

  • IPad 2 Stuck in Restore

So I was trying to restore my iPad 2 that I just got because I wanted to restore it from a backup of my iPhone. During the restore process, in iTunes the status bar reaches almost to the end and on the iPad the status bar reaches about 2/3 of the way across. Then it just sits there forever. I have hard rebooted it from there to try again but it keeps happening.
I have tried to put it in DFU mode, but I'm not sure if I did it correctly. Any advice is appreciated, I just want it to be functional again! Right now it's stuck in recovery mode and I'm trying to redownload the iPad software and try again.

    Hi,
Help here for an unresponsive iPad.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS3281
reaches about 2/3 of the way across.
You may have an app on your iPhone that's not compatible with an iPad. Not all are.

  • Ipad upgrade stuck on restore screen

upgrade to iOS5 failed on the ipad.  iTunes shows the sycing and completes it but on the ipad, it requires configuring the system and gets stuck on the 'restore from backup' screen.  Connecting to iTunes and syncing is not recognized by the ipad. It is an endless loop of operations.  Result: the ipad never goes past the 'connect to iTunes'.
I am not inclined to configure it as a new ipad as I might not be able to access the apps I have backup up.
    My iphone4 upgraded fine.
    Any suggestions?
    Thank you!

You can recover all of your apps, music, etc. from iTunes assuming you've syced with it lately. However, you will loose all of the associated documents, preferences, and other settings for each App. I just went through this with my iPad 1.

  • IPad mini stuck in restore.

Hoping someone can help me.  Tried to update my iPad mini to IOS 7.  Update froze, after 30+ minutes I tried restarting the iPad.  Got the iTunes restore screen.  I tried the usual restore steps (which have been posted and re-posted all over this forum) but I can't get my iPad to connect to the PC.  I've tried disabling and re-enabling the mobile service, uninstalling and re-installing iTunes, I tried DFU mode, and nothing works.  I can't go messing with the program files (which is what the non-Apple tips site suggests) because the PC I'm using to try the restore isn't mine.  And I don't have another computer to try with.  So what can I do?  If I take the iPad to the Apple Store will they be able to restore it for me?  (Though I didn't get it there, but from Target.)  Any help is appreciated!!

    Reset the iPad
    Device Reset (won't affect settings/data/music/apps/etc)
    1. Press and hold (& continue to hold) BOTH the Sleep/Wake button & the Home button.
    2. Continue to hold BOTH (ignoring any other messages that may show) until you see the Apple logo on the screen.
    3. Release BOTH buttons when you see the Apple logo and allow the device to boot normally.
