Why can't I install photoshop touch on my iPad 1?I was crazy about this app as I have creative cloud so I could edit photos on the go from creative cloud but apparently you need a camera. Please, Adobe. Give us an iPad 1 version.

If you want to edit photos on your tablet why don't you try Photoshop Express. Sure you won't be able to sync with creative cloud but you can still achieve the basic adjustments. IPad1 processor and ram probably won't be able to handle running photoshop touch...

I do not know if this will work or not, but when my iphone (currently not behind bars if you know what i mean) goes into a recovery loop I use this trick.
first try to get your iphone onto to apple boot logo. you can do this by holding the power and home buttons at the same time. if you can do that you're in good shape, possibly.
Next try to power down the phone. since you can't do the "slide to power down" method you'll need to hold both buttons again. this may cause the phone to power down the up again, keep holding until completely powered down.
Once powered down press the power button and up volume button at the same time and hold them both until the apple logo comes up.
once the apple logo comes up then release the power button and continue to hold the volume button.
Your phone should boot up normally then be sure to go to itunes and backup.
I do not know for sure if that works on any iphone or just my iphone and the state it is in. but it sure is worth a shot.

I just updated my original iPad 32 GB WiFi to iOS 5.1 about fifteen minutes ago. But I did it with the system restore feature in iTunes. So it wiped out everything on my iPad. But it did work. Then I restored an earlier backup and all went fine. Maybe you could try backing up your iPad and then using Restore to get it back to factory settings to see what happens.

I tried using devactivated function of flash.display.STAGE.
I used following addEventListener:
STAGE = this.parent.stage;
STAGE.addEventListener(Event.DEACTIVATE, onAppDeactivated);
It worked for me but only when device is connected to development environment in debug mode. When I create my release build
it is not working.
So how can I make sure that my code runs before application goes into background.

If she is using the mail app, there doesn't appear to be a way to sync contacts directly with gmail. You might see if there is a way to export to a Mac desktop and then to use iTunes to sync the contacts to the iPad. Otherwise the contacts will have to be manually added to the iPad. Another option would be to use gmail's web based mail. Her contacts should be available from there.

Boy sure what you are doing but the current iOS level is 7.1 not 7.0.4.

You can’t get it on an iPad 2. Only the iPhone 4 is still able to update to 7.1.2, and that’s because it’s incapable of running iOS 8.

You will have to re enter the Wi-Fi password.

In the latest iTunes, I cant find the "advanced" option to "make in iPad compatible version" that I used to be able to. Could someone please tell me if it's still there or if it's gone? (Or am I having a blonde moment?)

The Settings > General > Software Update option only appears when you have iOS 5+ installed, if you have iOS 4 then you will need to do the update via your computer's iTunes.
Connect the iPad to your computer's iTunes and copy any purchases off the iPad to your computer via File > Transfer Purchases. You may also want to copy photos and any important documents off the iPad as well e.g. via the file sharing section at the bottom of the device's apps tab when connected to iTunes, via wifi, email, dropbox etc - they should be included in the backup, but it's best to have a copy of them outside of the backup just in case. You can then force a backup of the iPad by right-clicking the iPad 'Device' on the left-hand side of iTunes and selecting 'Backup'.
Then start the update by selecting the iPad on the left-hand side of iTunes, and on the Summary tab on the right-hand side clicking the Check For Updates button

A first gen iPad will update to iOS 5.1.1 (it doesn't support iOS 6), and an iPad 2 and 3 to iOS 6.0.1 (they are the only versions that are 'signed' by Apple for them).

Can not update IPAD to version 5.0.1. - Itunes website frozen

I am trying to update my IPAD to version 5.0.1. I have my ipad connected to my personal computer, per the instructions. When I click on my Ipad in the itunes menu on my personal computer, it shows me the option to download and update. I select and it takes about 45 minutes to complete. It tells me the sync is complete and I can disconnect, but the software still indicates the older version. I even rebooted to see if that made a difference, but it did not. Also, when I click on itunes on my ipad (after disconnecting), it is frozen and will not allow me to choose any options (music, movies, etc.). It just stays stuck on the same webpage. Can you help?

THanks for the info on resetting via the sleep button. That worked and I am now able to navigate in itunes. As for the download, every time I connect my ipad to my pc and click on my ipad in the itunes list, it tells me there is a new version avialable (5.0.1), but after dowing the download and update several times (and restoring the factory settings at one point), the software version still shows 4.3.5 when I connect. However, I am now able to purchase items on itunes, which I was not able to do yesterday before I started any of the downloads. So, does it sound like it worked to you?
Also, I am trying to get the ipad to work with the ihome speakers and had some issues with changing the volume...........at one point the volume icon got stuck on the screen and would not go aways at all.......no matter what site I went to.
