Ipad 1 with win 8.1 no itunes sync

iTunes version 11.1.4.62, windows 8.1 64 bit and iPad 1st generation: when I connect my iPad to desktop pc with usb, windows opens file browse folder label This computer/Apple iPad/Internal storage/DCIM and shows all image folders and images. iTunes does not start sync, and all commands in Files/devices are gray. Any idea what is wrong? It is a while when I last time mamaged to sync iPad, and after that there has been both windows and iTunes updates, but can't remember how many. Last backup of iTunes is done 15th December 2013. iTunes diagnostics reports problem with USB device, but as I can see file folders and USB works with other devices like external HDD, I think there must be some problem with device drives or iTunes version?

I'm having a similar problem - see my earlier post. I have been through all the suggestions regarding un-installing all the Apple products, etc. As far as I can tell the problem revolves around the driver, USBAPPL64, (for 64 bit machines).   Re-installing did not help at all as then the file is reported as "corrupt". So I'm waiting to see if there is somewhere the driver required can be downloaded as a separate file. Hopefully that will cure the problem. As you report - everything else works fine on the USB ports - it's just Apple devices that have the problem.

The Sidebar and menu bar are hidden by default in iTunes 11. Try changing the view on iTunes 11 to classic view. To enable the menu bar, press Control-B. To enable the Side Bar, press Control-S. Test to see if you can access the device.

ICal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync

My iCal mysteriously no longer syncs with my iPhone 3gs via iTunes sync. It worked great until about a month ago. I've made over 300 Calendar changes to my iPhone 3gs' Calendar, but not a single item has synced back to my iCal on my iMac, when I sync my iTunes (which I do almost daily). In addition, I've created some items on my iCal, as a test, and none of them sync onto my iPhone 3gs.
What gives? Ideas? Suggestions?

Well, I was able to manually sync my iPhone to my iCal one time, but haven't been able to get it to sync Calendar info since then. It was moderately successful, so I could export an iCal backup file. However, I ended up with about 200 MORE duplicate items on my iPhone, and what's weird is that many of these duplicates do NOT have any "edit" functionality! So I a, stuck with them being on the day they are at right now. Grrrrrr

Can I access my Time Capsule from my iPad/iPad2 with iOS5 now? EX: Itunes from iPad to TC folders?

Start iTunes with the Option key held down and guide it to the new location of the library.

Syncing an Ipad along with 2 iphones to same Itunes library

I thought apps, etc. were synced and backed up per device but the last time I synced my phone, itunes was trying to put all of my wife's IPad apps on my phone. is there a setting somewhere to control this? do you have to being very manual with the syncing process?
we used to have a separate desktop profile on our computer that my wife used to sync her iphone and then I had one as well. now we run from the same library.

I believe the default setting is for iTunes to sync all apps in the library. With your wife's iPhone connected go to the apps tab of the iPhone screen and deselect sync all at the top, then you can go down the list and check only apps you want on that iPhone. Same deal for all your iDevices.

Iphone 4s. Windows 8.1 hp laptop. Itunes does not see my phone when I plug it in or launch itunes. My other computer sees it no problem, Is there compatibility issues with win 8.1 and itunes? Very frustrating...

Sitting right next to my new laptop is the old one that started out with XP on it. Has Win7 and itunes fires right up. I called my brother, he doesn't have apple products. He just bought a new laptop and did the 8.1 upgrade and guess what? Itunes still won't recognise my 4S....

Having an issue with Win 7 x64 and iTunes

So for some reason my iTunes won't open at all. I have it checked to run as admin, even went as far as to run it in compatability mode for Win7. What happens is that the User Agreement pops up...I hit accept and nothing happens. Now I opened up my Task Manager and looked for that APSdaemon.exe I believe it was called. It isn't there so that isn't blocking it. I turned off my AVG which didn't work. I allowed all access through it once I put it back up and that didn't work either. I noticed in my Action Center I had about 23 error messages for iTunes and the solution it gave me was
iTunes has stopped working properly.
A newer version of this software is available for download that addresses this problem. Apple Inc. recommends updating to take advantage of security and stability improvements.
I already have 10.5 for x64...I got it off the main page. Any help would be greatly appreciated. First time Apple user by the way!

Try the following steps:
1. Go to Microsoft website to fix install and Unistall problems. Click "Run now" from Fix it to remove all iTunes & related installer files:

How long does verifying iPad restore with Apple take after upgrading iTunes? It's been hours & my pc won't let me close because of it.

Should happen immediately...are your firewalls & anti-virus software turned off? If not, turn all of that stuff of & try again.

Anyone else having problem with RAID and iTunes syncing photos in Vista?

For whatever reason iTunes can not load some of the photos from C drive. It can do it from D drive, though VERY slow. Both C and D are NTFS system, but C is a RAID 0 drive (implemented by hardware on motherboard, Intel 82801G controller). I just wander if this is something related to iTunes not working correctly with RAID drivers, or is it something else? I should say that ALL other programs and games working fine on this drive.

Whats up with the latest version of itunes. It won't let me down load songs to my shuffle.

Ever since I updated the latest itunes 10, I,ve had problems with my Ipod shuffle. Itunes syncs with it (all but slowly) but then won't let me replace songs on it. Restored it to factory settings. Tried my partners shuffle. Same problem so I gather the problem is with the latest version of itunes. Anyone else experiencing these problems? If so, any help would be much appreciated. Starting to get severly ****** of with it. Even considering going to another music store.

the only messages I get is when I try to download songs from my library. It comes up saying " a number of errors occured when trying to download the music" but it does not tell me what those errors are.
Initially when my shuffle was full and I tried to replace the songs with new ones, it would go really slowly then show that only four or five songs had been downloaded. When I disconnected my shuffle and played it, it still had all the original songs on it. I tried to restore my shuffle to original factory settings but it would not let me. I then reloaded my original ipod restorer off disc and this has removed everything off my shuffle. I then uninstalled itunes then reinstalled but still have the same initial problems.
I've got itunes to automatically sync with the ipods which it does successfully but thats as far as it goes.

Recover iMessages after iTunes sync

I have been having major battery issues ever since getting the 5s. I've restored a couple of times from iCloud, but it hasn't worked. Apple has said they can see a lot of crashing apps in the diagnostics report (about 30). The tech suggested I wipe it out and do a sync with iTunes instead of a restore, but apparently I would lose all of my iMessages. He said there are 3rd party apps to recover that. Anyone have experience with recovering iMessages after an iTunes sync? Any recommendations on what software to use for that? I'm assuming I would also lose any other data I have on my phone - like in Viber, Whatsapp, etc, is there any way to recover other data as well? Will I lose all of my settings this way too? I've come to depend on the iCloud backup and disappointed that I can't use it and have a stable phone.

Have you tried a reset ? Press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds, after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.
