IPad 1st generation keeps asking to be connected to iTunes every time

Hi,
My 2nd iPad (1st generation) keeps asking to be connected every time it wakes up either from turn off or standby. I am really tired of restoring the same stuff again and again. If I am less lucky that day, Apple logo freezes forever until iPad gets so hot.
Are there any suggestions? I am using latest version of iTunes, tried connecting to Windows PC using different ports and 4 different cables, there are no security conflicts etc or TCP/IP issues.
Shall I return it to Apple? It is only 7 days that I had this delivered. I do not want to worship to this gadget - want to read my stuff, check my emails and all basic stuff. Tired of recovering 2-3 times a day. Waste of my time.
Let me know if you have any suggestions.
Thanks,

Was searching and trying all kinds of solutions - Apple suggests some very complicated ones as well...
I was not able to connect to my itunes and/or sync because of it...  I found this in another thread and it solved my issues and everything is working for me now...
I found this, easy enough to follow solution that actually worked. in a single user's post in the forums here somewhere.  Can't find it again to say thanks to whoever it was, which prompted me to post it everywhere so everyone else can find it:
(Note: this is for Windows 8, but the solution for other versions is similar - you might need to try a few other folders, but are still looking for "Apple Device" under "Device Manager".)
Connect your iPad/iPhone/iPod to your PC
Go to: Control Panel > Device Manager
Click on: Portable Devices
Right click on: Apple iPad/iPhone/iPod > Update Driver Software
Choose: Browse my computer for driver software.
Go to: C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\Drivers
Click okay and everything should suddenly work fine again.  (I can't remember if I had to choose "trust" again, but if I did, I only had to do it the once and everything was fixed after that).
Hope it helps!

  • Why does my iPad ( 1st generation) keep shutting down

Does anyone have any ideas why my iPad (1st generation) keep closing down and what I need to do to rectify it?

    Pam-
It could be that the battery charge indicator is showing 100 percent when you actually have almost no charge left.  In case that is the problem, leave your iPad connected to its wall charger overnight, and see if that helps.
One other thing to try, is to reset (reboot) your iPad.  Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears.  Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow.  The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes.  Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes solves mysterious problems.

  • When I downloaded ios 7.0.2 to my iPad 2 it's asking me to connect to iTunes

After I downloaded ios 7.0.2 to my iPad 2 it's asking me to connect to iTunes, but I have never connected this iPad to iTunes. I tried turning it on and off, but it won't do anything until I connect to iTunes. I'm concerned based on some other questions that this is going to erase everything and make me start again. I believe I have a back up in iCloud, but I don't know if I've backed up since upgrading to ios 7. Is there anything I can do besides connect to iTunes and see where it takes me?

  • Upgraded iPad 2 to iOS6 - asking me to connect to iTunes - when I do, my Mac is saying 'detected an iPad in recovery mode but need to upgrade iTunes to a newer version (our Mac too old to upgrade). How do I restore iPad so I can use it again?

I upgraded my iPad 2 to iOS6 following a prompt from the application icon.
Once that was complete, my iPad asked me to connect to iTunes which I did.  iTunes then told me that it detected an iPad/iPod in recovery mode and I needed to have a newer version of iTunes to restore.
I've tried before to upgrade to a new version of iTunes but was advised my Mac was unable to support this due to the Mac's age and old operating system.
How, therefore, do I get back onto using my iPad 'cos at the moment, all I get when I switch it on is the 'connect to iTunes' symbols.
Help please, I'm getting withdrawal symptoms!

During a normal install of iOS 7.0.6 this does not happen but something clearly went wrong in your installation.
To fix this, connect to iTunes and restore to Factory. Hopefully your iPad will be working again and you can restore your iCloud backup during Setup.

  • HT4113 my ipad is lock and ask me to connect to Itunes.

    Hi,
Im having trouble with my ipad...i forgot the password and enter so many times, that now is asking me to connect to itune.what should I do to unlock my ipad?

iOS: Wrong passcode results in red disabled screen - http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1212 - entering wrong codes results in progressively longer lockout times until device must be restored completely.
Options for when an iOS device gets locked because of forgotten passcode:
Restore (and reset passcode) on your device by connecting it to the last computer to which it was connected:
iTunes: Backing up, updating, and restoring iOS software - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1414
If you cannot connect it to the computer to which the device was last connected (or the device was never connected to a computer) you will have to use recovery mode to completely reset the device, losing all data:
iOS: Unable to update or restore - http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1808 - recovery mode (e.g., cannot connect to computer last used to sync device, iTunes still asks for a password)

  • Connect to iTunes every time iPad is turned off

    I recently bought an iPad.
Every time the iPad runs out of battery and turns off, when I turn it back on it asks me to connect to iTunes.
Dos anyone know why this happens?
    Thanks for your help
    Aris

Same here. Went away on business. Left computer at home because IPad covers me for all essential chores. Turned off iPad on plane as requested. Upon restarting, IPad wants me to reconnect to iTunes.
Now I am away from home for 10 days and no computer and no functioning ipad. Luckily I have my iPhone with me but iPad is now useless to me and I am without the capability to work properly.
Does anyone have a solution not involving me having to source another computer ?

  • IPad 1st Generation not finding networks or connecting to bluetooth.

So, I haven't used my iPad all day and I came home to connect to my wireless speaker via bluetooth and it said it couldn't pair; I thought this was strange because I never have issues with connecting to bluetooth, even if I do it can always be fixed by toggling the speaker's power switch as well as the bluetooth switch. I then checked the upper left hand corner to see if my wireless was working, that too was inactive. I went to my settings to select my usual network only to have my iPad search and come up with absolutely no nearby networks, I went to my Mac and the internet was working just fine. So my iPad will not work with my network or work with my bluetooth. I have already taken many troubleshooting steps. 1. I reset my network settings, 2. I adjust the brightness, 3. I rebooted the iPad, 4. I finally restored the iPad. After all this, my iPad still will not connect. Yet every other wireless capable device in the house is working just fine. After I restored the iPad I made sure not to restore from a backup so it's completely fresh. Has anyone experienced any of this, and will I need to call Support, as this may be a hardware issue, Even though I JUST had this iPad replaced not too long ago.

Yes, that was one of the common sense steps that I left out.... mainly because, well, it's common sense. I don't mean to come off as rude or anything, but the router effecting only my iPad when there are two iPad's in the house that run the same firmware as well as other devices that are working fine seems like an unlikely answer to my problem. However, I do appreciate the input. Any is appreciated, helpful or not.

  • I've got ipad 4th generation but I can not connect to iTunes .when press video or music it ask me to g iTunes Store when press that the iTunes come up with white page and blue icon saying can connect to iTunes Store .any help please .thanks

I can not connect to iTunes from ipad

This what Apple's iTunes specific error codes support article says about that particular error.
Errors 3000-3999 (3004, 3013, 3014, 3018, 3164, 3194, and so on): Error codes in the 3000 range generally mean that iTunes cannot contact the update server (gs.apple.com) on ports 80 or 443.
Update to the latest version of iTunes.
Verify the computer's date and time are accurate.
Check that your security or firewall software is not interfering with ports 80 or 443, or with the server gs.apple.com.
Follow Troubleshooting security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
An entry in your hosts file may be redirecting requests to gs.apple.com (see "Unable to contact the iOS software update server gs.apple.com" above).
Internet proxy settings can cause this issue. If you are using a proxy, try without using one.
Test restoring while connected to a known-good network.

  • My brand new iPod Touch has asked me to connect to iTunes multiple times so it can be restored, what should I do if it continues?

It has happened twice now after only two days.  I connect it to iTunes and it restores, and then after some use it will start to react very differently and slow, not function properly.  Then when I restart it says it needs to connect to iTunes again and be restored.  If this happens again, what should I do?

Some Data may have become corrupted and if you are Restoring from Backup it is being put back into your Device.
    try a Restore as New...
